White v. White: BATTLE ON!!!!
Would you be willing to do Wikipedia a favor? Late on June 21, a contributor put up the new article Robert White (Washington, D.C. politician), and a few hours later I put up Robert White (D.C. politician). I'd done a search on Robert White prior to doing my article, but saw nothing. While I did my reseach and writing, the other contributor put up their article. One needs to be merged into the other. I do not want to privilege mine over theirs, and don't want to be accused of such. So we need a neutral third party (you!) to put a Merge-Article tag on one or the other so we get only a single article in the end. Would you be willing to make the decision? (I've not contacted the other contributor.) - Tim1965 (talk) 18:49, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- First of all, why it gotta be white? Let me take a look and talk to the other editor. I will say the other title is probably better, but your content is more extensive and thoroughly sourced. APK whisper in my ear 19:16, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- We use to have two Browns, and two Oranges... At any rate, I'm unaware of a naming convention for these types of articles, and I looked for one. I don't care which name is used, but a merge is in order. BATTLE ON! - Tim1965 (talk) 21:31, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- Looks like it was resolved while I was away from the computer. :-) APK whisper in my ear 22:38, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
Photo Question
I was wondering if you ever did photo work in Massachusetts and North Carolina. I ask because I'm looking for a picture of a specific radio station studio building and broadcast tower in Haverhill, MA and the same in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Since you did such amazing work on the WINC studios/towers and the Stephens City photos (among others), I was hoping you could help. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 01:16 on June 23, 2016 (UTC)
- I wish I could visit MA again, but no plans in the immediate future. The same goes for that part of NC. Sorry. :-( APK whisper in my ear 02:30, 23 June 2016 (UTC)
- No worries. :) - Neutralhomer • Talk • 03:39 on June 23, 2016 (UTC)
Re: Images for Harry Jackson article
Hi AgnosticPreachersKid. I saw one of your Good articles displayed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Visual arts and figured you might be able to help.
I submitted an edit request on the Harry Jackson (artist) talk page to add three fair use images to the article. One editor has responded, "I'm not confident the images will be acceptable since they are not at least fair use". I think this is just because the file pages currently display a warning template because they are fair use but not included in any main space articles at this time. Would you be willing to respond to this edit request by adding these three images to the article?
I've posted an edit request and asked to help at WikiProject Visual arts, but no one has responded and the fair use images are set to be deleted within 2 days if they are not added to the article. I don't think my request is controversial, but I prefer not to edit the article directly given my COI. Thanks for your consideration. Inkian Jason (talk) 21:18, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Question For Ya
Hey APK, hope all is well with you. I was wondering if you ever make it out to Fauquier or Warren counties. I ask because I am starting work on the WINC-FM article and I would like to get a shot of their tower. Unfortunately, it is up on Freezeland Road, right on the Fauquier/Warren line. Here's a link to a Google Map of the area, their tower is just to the right of the little red icon. If you don't get up that way, it's no worries. I can always buy off a friend with a Dairy Queen milkshake for a ride up there. :) But if you do way it out that way, I would gladly send a DQ gift card (or some cash) your way for your troubles. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 21:14 on July 27, 2016 (UTC)
- I don't really visit that area, but if I do, I'll bring my camera. :-) APK whisper in my ear 04:03, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, no one visits that area unless they live there or like towers. :) Just don't visit in the winter, it ain't called Freezeland Road for nothin'. :) Take Care...Neutralhomer • Talk • 04:33 on July 30, 2016 (UTC)

Hi there -- I sent you an e-mail over Flickr earlier today concerning use of your LeDroit Park image. That's before I realized/figured out that the person who posted it on Wikipedia is you! :) That sort of answers my question about the CC license, but let me know if you don't receive that Flickr e-mail and I'll re-ping you via here. - Ah, ok. I suggest removing the redirect at Pärnu JK (women) and starting your own article for the women's team. You need to write your own prose, but the women player information can probably just be copied to the new page. But leave the information about the men's team at Pärnu JK instead of blanking the page. Hope that helps. APK whisper in my ear 20:20, 9 October 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter
- Breaking the back of the backlog
If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.
- Second set of eyes
Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.
- PLEASE VOTE: Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey:
With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.

New Page Reviewer
Hello AgnosticPreachersKid. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
- Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
- Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
- Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:56, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

New NR photos in Virginia
Just wanted to let you know — I've got photos coming for most of the NR sites in Shenandoah, Accomack, and Northampton counties, so don't plan any photo trips there unless you have non-Wikipedia reasons for getting the NR photos (which I generally do) or you're getting images of other subjects. Nyttend (talk) 01:12, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, sounds good. Thanks for taking the pix. APK whisper in my ear 11:31, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
- You're welcome. I've been taking enough pictures and doing enough other stuff (perhaps you've seen me doing comprehensive coordinate-fixing throughout Virginia) that I've had myself a backlog basically ever since I moved to Virginia in October; right now I'm working to organise and upload images from four different photo trips. Nyttend (talk) 05:20, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah I didn't realize how many coordinate errors there were until seeing your edits. Welcome to Virginia. I plan on moving back to the District at some point, but VA is still a good place to live. APK whisper in my ear 06:32, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
Nomination of Seidel Abel Boanerges for deletion
Hi AgnosticPreachersKid,
I see that you nominated my article on Seidel Abel Boanerges for deletion. I am new to wikipedia. I am trying my best to add a genuine article here. All the references for this article are valid references and their links are updated appropriately. Rather than deleting the whole thing can you let me know how to update it properly please? There are no printed book format resources. Most of the resources are from church and organisational websites, google or youtube. It is not a fictional article and it has been written from a neutral basis.
Please help. Many thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Regularupdates (talk • contribs) 16:27, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Regularupdates: Hello. The problem with that article is the subject doesn't meet notability requirements to warrant a Wikipedia entry. Has he been extensively covered by reputable, independent news organizations? Is he a well-known author or lecturer? It doesn't appear to be the case. Primary sources such as capernwray.org and baptist.org.uk do not establish notability. Hope that helps explain my reasoning to have this page deleted. Thanks. APK whisper in my ear 16:58, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- @AgnosticPreachersKid: Thank you for your information. This person is a lecturer, but has not published any books yet. If the above primary sources do not establish nobility, can you suggest what does please? Thanks (Regularupdates (talk) 19:00, 13 January 2017 (UTC))
- @AgnosticPreachersKid: Can someone else edit the article?
- I'm sorry, but as I already mentioned, there doesn't appear to be any reliable sources that demonstrate why his bio belongs on Wikipedia. APK whisper in my ear 20:02, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Some pics
You know what we need? Pics of the finished CityCenterDC, and some better pics of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. In particular, the rotuda part. (The only rotunda pics on Commons now show it draped in black.) Get to work, buddy! - Tim1965 (talk) 17:15, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- I took a few nighttime shots of Christmas decorations at CityCenter, but yeah, I need some daytime pix. I'll try to remember next time I'm in town. It was too freakin cold to walk around the city. APK whisper in my ear 19:14, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Tim1965:, I uploaded some crappy photos of CityCenter here. I need to organize the photo categories, but there ya go. On a completely unrelated note, while walking around the city that day, I walked past the Hyatt Regency on my way towards the Capitol. I was about a block away from the hotel before realizing what weekend it was. The boots, harnesses and masks gave it away. I have a photo of a "puppy" in a red latex outfit being led around the Grant Memorial by his master. The Capitol is in the background. It's quite something. The foreign tourists were quite intrigued. APK whisper in my ear 01:06, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- You better upload to Flickr so I can see (or whatever public posting platform you're using now). Cleveland CLAW has no such hotel where this stuff occurs, which is sad. The event is quite the spectacle, I must say, but only if you pay the exorbitant entrance fee to the no-cameras-allowed clubs. - Tim1965 (talk) 02:44, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- I'll probably upload them to Commons. I haven't uploaded anything to Flickr in over 3 years, but I still look at my contacts' photos (including yours) every so often. Here are some additional photos that might be useful. I didn't take any photos of the people standing outside the Hyatt (some people might not want to be photographed while wearing a kilt and nipples clamps), but I figured if you're going to parade around a prominent spot on the National Mall while wearing latex and a mask, you want to be photographed. Stub spacing
Hello and greeting from a fellow Virginian! Just a small note to mention that in edits such as this and this I notice that you are removing the second blank line prior to the stub template; you may want to see WP:STUBSPACING which prescribes two blank lines in such places. Although I have no idea why, honestly; but maybe it'll save you some time and bother in the future, it does seem to be a commonly followed convention. Thanks! Glenwood Cemetery
Did the entire cemetery just get added to the NRHP? I know the chapel is, but until about 2014 that was all that was on the NRHP. (It sucks when only part of a site is added to the NRHP. It's unclear how to deal with that.) - Tim1965 (talk) 18:01, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah, the list came out Friday. The cemetery and chapel are each listed on the NRHP. It does get confusing, kind of like Oak Hill Cemetery. The chapel and mausoleum are on the NRHP, but the cemetery is (surprisingly) not. APK whisper in my ear 19:44, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.2
- A HUGE backlog
We now have 803 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.
The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.
- Second set of eyes
Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.
- Abuse
This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and
- this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
- this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
- This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.
Coordinator election
Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Capital Beltway
Maybe I've gotten you confused with some of the New York Wikipedians, but I've got this mental image of you just bicycling around; if that's right, and you don't know the answer to my question, my apologies for wasting your time.
Do I understand rightly that the Beltway is free on weekends, at least if you don't drive in the special HOV-related lanes? At some point here, I'm going to try to get some sites in Southeast (presumably either at the start or the end of a trip), and I'd much rather cross the bridge at Alexandria than go through downtown if I don't have to pay tolls, but I'm not at all interested in paying tolls if I can help it. Nyttend (talk) 00:51, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
- Well, when I lived in DC, I literally lived in DC (about 10 blocks northwest of the White House) so I never had to deal with the Beltway. But as far as I'm aware, you don't have to pay tolls on the Beltway unless you choose to drive in the HOV lanes. At least that's been my experience when I go back into the city. When I visited the new MGM National Harbor several months ago, which is near the areas you're talking about, I didn't pay a toll and it was a weekday. APK whisper in my ear 09:39, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
- The Capital Beltway is free. Only the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle)/Express lanes have a toll, but you pay the toll only if there are fewer than three people in the car. If you have three people or more, they're free. On the Maryland side, there's also an Express lane. There's always a toll to use those, no matter how many people you have in the car. Non-Express lanes are free. - Tim1965 (talk) 14:41, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

Crime scene photos
So, sometimes I come across places where famous crimes took place. Um, not current crimes. Stuff from the 1930s or 1950s or such. I take a photo. Where the hell on Commons would one place such a photo? Category:1933 in Washington, D.C. comes to mind for 1933 crimes. If the restaurant/park/home/hot dog plant had its own category, I could put it there. Most places don't. If the crime were associated with a criminal who had a category, I could put it there. Many don't. One would think there'd be a category like Category:Law of Washington, D.C. (which for some godawful reason is not linking properly here) which would have a subcategory for crime scenes, but it doesn't. Any hints, suggestions, clews? (Yes, I used the old spelling of clues on purpose.) - Tim1965 (talk) 00:48, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
- Well, for this photo, all I used was Commons:Category:Crime scenes. I suppose you could add the year in.. category as well. Since there's Commons:Category:Crime in the United States by state, you could create a subcat for DC. APK whisper in my ear 17:47, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
United States Capitol statues
Hey, you may or may not be interested, but given your work on other D.C. monuments, I wanted to point out some of the new articles at Category:United States Capitol statues (especially given the ongoing debate re: Confederate memorials), in case you're looking for articles to help expand. Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:30, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
- Awesome, I'll take a look at it. APK whisper in my ear 18:52, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
