Novel content on the official website

[edit]

Okay, here it goes: is this claim true? I checked out the official website and couldn't find the text for the novel, alphabetized or otherwise. Is this an Adamsesque joke? If so, it is funny, but maybe not appropriate for an encyclopedia. If it's true, I can't find it (which may only mean I can't find it; it could be there, who knows? Or maybe it was removed from the official site? In that case the reference should be removed from the article, if only to avoid confusing dullards like me). Here it is. Enjoy! --Releeshan 02:12, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have read the book it does exist. The only thing wrong with the 'game page' is that is was a "spontaneous mass existence failure" who ever wrote on the game obviously didn't read the book. One of the funniest books I have ever read. The combination of a Douglas Adams idea and Terry Jones as the writer was a genius move the monty python comedy mixed with the Adams humors melds perfectly. By the time your done reading you don't care who thought it up or who wrote it. 20,000 laughs a page and a well versed novel equals a phenomenal success. It's too bad it didn't get any commercial appeal. You are missing out on some truly great Adams(Jones) stuff if you don't read this one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.116.155.101 (talk) 12:02, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In the game's official strategy guide and in the game itself, it is called SMEF, which according to the guide stands for Spontaneous Massive Existence Failure. A. Parrot (talk) 02:48, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

John Cleese as the Bomb?

[edit]

Is it actually confirmed that Cleese voiced the Bomb under a pseudonym, or is that speculation? Will the Great 20:41, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quite true. --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 22:10, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

novel merge

[edit]

Due to the existence of Douglas Adams' Starship Titanic: A Novel, I am proposing that Starship Titanic#Novel be split from here and merged over there. Arlo James Barnes 22:52, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
