Ammonium hexachlorostannate (also known as pink salt) is an inorganic chemical compound with the chemical formula (NH4)2SnCl6.[1][2][3]
Synthesis
[edit]A reaction of pure tin tetrachloride with ammonium chloride:[4]
- SnCl4 + 2NH4Cl → (NH4)2SnCl6
Physical properties
[edit]The compound is composed of white crystals and is a corrosive agent.[5]
Use
[edit]The compound is used as a mordant in dyeing.[4]
