Welcome to the Medieval warfare task force. If you have any questions about articles or are generally seeking advice, you're encouraged to ask at the main military history talk page, or you can directly approach one of the task force participants below.

The coordinators of the Military history WikiProject can be contacted here.

Scope

[edit]

This task force covers military history from roughly 500 to 1500. More specifically, its scope begins with the fall of the Roman Empire and ends just before the development of the rifle and the Age of Discovery. Although this period is generally regarded as an era of European history, other areas (such as the pre-Columbian empires, the expansion of Islam, the Mongol Empire, and so forth) are also welcome.

Events after c. 1500 are covered by the Early Modern warfare task force.

Any article related to this task force should be marked by adding Medieval-task-force=yes or Medieval=y to the {{WPMILHIST}} project banner at the top of its talk page (see the project banner instructions for more details on the exact syntax). This will automatically place it into Category:Medieval warfare task force articles.
