[edit]04:11:17, 26 November 2020 review of draft by Xlm0118
[edit]
my draft was declined and the comment is “Does he pass WP:NACADEMIC. Even if he does, this "article" just seems to be turning wikipedia into linked in. It's not really very good; we learn little or nothing about him or his work. ” i am Confused about the WP:NACDAMIC and I also would like to know more things about this person is stories or something else?

[edit]
I have translated all content from the Chinese version to English without any adjustments. As the Chinese version has been already published, I don't quite understand how the English version is declined.
Please let me know how I can improve the article.

Draft:Jordan Cohen
[edit]Hi. I was suggested to come here. I improved an article, but apparently the old one that was rejected a whole bunch of times wasn't even on the same person. But if you come to the page to approve it is scary, because it was rejected so many times in the past. But he meets our basketball notablity standdard. Can someone look? Thanks. It is here. Draft:Jordan Cohen --184.153.21.19 (talk) 06:48, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi there - assuming you wrote the draft as it is right now, what I recommend doing is copying your draft (minus the AFC declines) into a new draft page, such as Draft:Jordan Cohen (basketball). This will ensure the page has a clean history moving forward, and avoids causing any confusion in the future. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 08:05, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- I have reviewed and passed it through AfC. The article is available at Jordan Cohen (basketball) I request @Cyphoidbomb:, or any admin to clear/remove any unnecessary history that can cause confusion in future. — Amkgp 💬 10:57, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

I am making a biography but it was declined. I just wanted to make a biography. What's wrong with my draft? Nenjie1991 (talk) 07:21, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Nenjie1991: The draft is entirely unsourced (the only reference is a dead link). There's no indication why this person is notable i.e. why there should be an article about them in an encyclopedia. I think you are looking for LinkedIn? Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 11:03, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! I have updated the article and it is based on Bloomberg news article.
Rudoj (talk) 10:47, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Rudoj The draft was a blatant piece of advertising. If you have a connection to Stereo, you must review conflict of interest and paid editing. I would suggest also reviewing Your First Article. 331dot (talk) 10:54, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]
I'm trying to submit an article for review, but it says "AfC submission|||ts=20201126160527|u=McWa11|ns=4" doesn't exist as a template, and I only have a "Publish" button, not a "Submit for review" button. Please let me know how I can submit it for review! Thanks :)
Edit: subst:submit automatically changed to this template above ^. I added it to my page, and a template showed up, but now it says to replace it with "subst:submit" McWa11 (talk) 16:05, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Your draft has no content? Theroadislong (talk) 16:15, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]I understand that you would like reliable sources, however, Miss Raisa is not well known, therefore there is not much information about her accessible. I have spoken with her personally and watched HER personal YouTube videos to gain knowledge. The point of this Wiki page would be to bring more attention and provide more accessible public information. Airyami (talk) 16:49, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- Our job is not to spread the word about someone. In order for there to be an article, she must have been written about at length by multiple third-party sources. We cannot rely on anything she told you, as that instantly becomes impossible to verify should she be incapacitated or incommunicado. —A little blue Bori v^_^v Takes a strong man to deny... 16:57, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

- No evidence of WP:NPERSON. Note that a Wikipedia article may not nessesarely be desireable. In addition, Wikipedia is not interested in a rerun of the Seigenthaler incident. 21:56:22, 26 November 2020 review of submission by Ninquelosse
[edit]- Ninquelosse (talk · contribs)
I want to start work on a new article about musician James Kirby.
Kirby is best known for his side project, The Caretaker (musician), which I spent a lot of time on this evening getting it up to a substantial article; but before that, he ran the record label V/Vm and released his own music through that. Kirby is absurdly prolific and frequently releases rough music or deletes everything from availability, making his discography both infinite and undocumentable, and each of these periods have very different influences and mood; this makes me feel that a single Kirby page is completely unworkable.
I want to make a new James Kirby page, which would focus on his life biography, with an overview of his music projects with a little information about each (including his work as Leyland Kirby and the Stranger and his other labels, which aren't notable enough for their own page), and then links to The Caretaker and V/Vm where those phases were explored in more detail (with a focus on releases, collaborators and music criticism). I feel his ouvre is complicated and messy enough that a single launchpad/hub with detailed branches each dedicated to a single idea is a less cluttered approach than trying to wrangle it into a single, long page.
But before I do that work I want to check that Kirby is independently notable enough, separating the pages like this is a good idea, and generally good wiki style. Cheers all.
EDIT TO ADD: I made a sample template of the new article, showing the structure and key areas it would cover, so you can see how it would differ from the current Caretaker and V/Vm pages
