Request: Take a good photograph of Peggy (dog) for her Wikipedia page. The photo must be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. I believe she lives in East Yorkshire. However, do NOT scare her family or do anything creepy or illegal to get the picture; only photograph her in public, or in private with the consent of her family.
Reward: The Canine Barnstar as well as a little Barnstar sculpted in polymer clay, which can be attached to a pet collar (or a keychain if you don't have a dog or cat)
Limit on rewards: If a Commons-compatible image becomes available from another source before anyone can take the photo, the offer will expire.
Expires: One year from today (27 March 2025) or when a Commons-compatible photo becomes available
Sign-up: Please ping me if you get the photo!
UPDATE A Creative Commons image of Peggy has been found. However, it is taken from afar and is very low-quality. As such, I am leaving this bounty open to encourage people to eventually find a better photo. Di (they-them) (talk) 16:19, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Request: Per this query, Turkmenistan appears to be the only non-microstate country without any GAs. Write a good article on a person from there or a topic primarily connected to it.
I am; it looks like that page is more connected to the broader region, though, rather than having coordinates within the country. {{u|Sdkb}}talk20:06, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Bring three or more delisted featured lists back to featured status
Request: Create article on Arlene Levine and bring it to at least B-Class status or above. Draft page is already existent at Draft:Arlene_Levine.
Reward: One (or more) appropriate barnstar of your choice to every editor who plays a substantial role in creating/improving the article.
Limit on rewards: N/A
Expires: No expiration.
Sign-up: Feel free to ping me.
Yitzilitt. I worked on your draft a bit. Draft:Arlene Levine. I uploaded a photo, added paragraph breaks, and moved links down to the references section. Next step is to find and add an additional GNG passing source. I evaluate 2 of the 11 sources in the article as currently passing GNG, need 1 more, see my comment in the article for details. Step after that is for somebody to read through the GNG passing sources and add as much relevant info as possible. Then after that, hit the "Submit the draft for review" button. Hope that helps. –Novem Linguae (talk) 10:03, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A free use image of Twombly’s Medal of Honor. The medal is on display at the Fort Donelson National Battlefield. Here is a copyright image of the Medal of Honor (bottom right): [1].
A free use image of the flag carried by Twombly at the Battle of Fort Donelson. The flag is currently housed at the State Historical Museum of Iowa. The following article contains a picture of the flag [2], as does the State Historical Museum of Iowa [3] (Note: the museum erroneously claims that Twombly received the MoH for carrying the flag at Shiloh).
Request: Charles Bridge is one of the most iconic sights in the Czech Republic. The article is already C-class but needs more thorough referencing. Since it is so famous, numerous sources are available, in a multiplicity of languages. Get the article to B-class by 30 June 2017 (assessment must be conducted by a member of WP:CZ).

Leave a message on my talk page or send me an email, haven't edited that much in the past few years
Request: If you comment on what you think, good or bad, about my proposal in the "a proposal" section of Wikipedia talk:Community portal, I will give you a barnstar. Hi kvng. If I work on one tomorrow and nominate it tomorrow, it will take up to a week which can be out of the expiration. Would you mind extending the expiration before I begin work on one? Thanks Tortle (talk) 04:28, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Request: Expand any Cascadia-related stub for credit as part of the 2015 stub contest. For purposes of this offer, Cascadia-related is defined as belonging to WikiProject Washington (list), WikiProject Oregon (list), or equivalent WPUSA, or others in British Columbia or California as per my own discretion (Cascadia has no definite boundaries). Examples below.

Request: Most improvements to WP:PSP articles before expiration. Post diffs to my talk page. I will assess and score one point for each increment in quality grade.
Well, my sandbox page has some possible write-up you might be able to copy paste in somewhere...but after looking at what could be added with the sources available, and the tetration page...I've decided that I'm not quite sure what you want here. The material can not be simply added to the tetration page? Fephisto (talk) 19:30, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The Tetration page is already very long, in my opinion. (We might put a link from the tetration page to the Iterated Exponential Constant page.) Perhaps if I asked for other people's opinion in the Tetration talk page we could get a better idea of what is acceptable. We might even get some help in expanding the Iterated Exponential Constant article and get more sources! I extended the due date. Thank you for your research!Marvin Ray Burns (talk) 23:57, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Request: The page for The International is currently sub-par for its status as a part of the Dota series, which has the very likely potential of becoming a Featured topic. Limit on rewards: Two barnstars and an event ticket of the VIP variety.

What does "Expand the article 5 times" mean? I ask because it's probably too late to have the article at FA status by April 1 – not that I plan to work on this article. Tezero (talk) 21:40, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Tezero: The 5x expansion refers to the Did you know rule A4 which is about expanding the prose of an article to five times what it was within about five days. In case you didn't know, the Did You Know section is usually found on the main page, just below the featured article of the day. At this point the Water Bear article has 10392 characters of prose and that would mean expanding it to 51960 or more characters. Green Giant (edits) (talk)00:47, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Request: Elevate Kongregate to B-class or higher. Review must come from WP:VG for B reward Whilst its importance is considered Low, I think it's the best example of that genre of websites (The genre being free online flash games with optional purchases).

Limit on rewards: Maximum of two reward winners for GA+ tier
In dollar form the original reward is about $0.51, with the extra reward it raises to about $2.69. It's not too much, but the main part of this is the fun of getting some DOGE. Tractor Tyres (talk) 17:14, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request: Create an article about Comcast Business, the business-to-business enterprise within the Comcast Corporation. It is a separate entity, accounting for $2.4 billion in sales in 2012. Current content found at Comcast#Business_Services may be helpful but is very detailed and needs more general encyclopedic coverage.

For a stub with 3 independent references (e.g., similar to Work N Gear), award is the barnstar.
For a start-class article with at least 10 independent references (e.g., similar to Aeroflex), award is the $75 gift.

Comment If the article is created, there is a substantial likelihood that I shall consider listing it at AfD. We normally cover subsidiaries within the main company, even if they are legally separate entities. I suppose I should also say that although this board was kept at MfD, I shall be watching very carefully any request here that offers money. just as I watch other paid editing. DGG ( talk ) 19:45, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Following up, the article was in fact created, and, as is often the case with paid editing, half of it was advertising: a list of customers. It is not encyclopedic content which businesses use a communication company's services . I removed that part. I'm looking at the rest. DGG ( talk ) 20:47, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Rather unfair to say that "half of it was advertising: a list of customers", when clearly it is hardly an unprecedented practice on Wikipedia. DGG, shall we expect your equally faithful work soon on the following articles?
Now, those are several hundred cases of Wikipedia articles presenting nothing different than what the Reward Board author produced. DGG elected to call it advertising and remove it in this one instance. What about the hundreds of other instances? Shall we just let those go, or do we have a new WikiProject:Removal of customer lists to launch? - I'm not that crazy (talk) 03:30, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes the individual members of the customer-listings are appropriate, sometimes they are not... the key is whether the specific customer-provider relationship is WP:NOTEWORTHY, rather than mere mutually-WP:ABOUTSELF (let alone *pure* WP:ABOUTSELF which is not good enough). There is a difference between Comcast bragging about how Joe Schmoe is one of their customers (or equivalently about Joe Schmoe bragging on his L33T new weberneteevee connection), and an article in the Wall Street Journal about how Comcast just won a trillion-dollar-contract with the Venusians. Well, okay, that one would get a dedicated article, probably. Some local-government-customers are Noteworthy.[5][6] Some suppliers are Noteworthy.[7] Some employees are Noteworthy.[8][9] But yes, not every Comcast customer is noteworthy, and WP:SPIP applies. Hope this helps. 74.192.84.101 (talk) 23:56, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Request: I require someone to add a significantly large quantity of information to the article Birmingham Gay Village, preferably historical information about the area.
Reward: A copy of Civilization V (PC game), practically new.
Limit on rewards: One, to the person who announces their intent to add the content and adds a significant amount.
While the MfD for this page ended up being resolved in favor of keeping this page open, there was an overwhelming consensus that this specific post was not in line with community expectations. Therefore as part of the MfD close, I am closing this thread. Sven ManguardWha?04:55, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Request: I apologize if I am misunderstanding any element of this process or of Wikipedia rules in general. If so, please advise. The company I own, Suburban Express, has recently received negative "press", mostly in the form of blog postings criticizing our company for a tangled mess of issues. They can more or less distilled down to: 1) Criticism for pursuing cheaters. Some feel that using lawsuits to pursue debtors is somehow unfair to innocent little college students. But collection agencies want nothing to do with the small debts customers create for themselves. 2) Criticism for the manner in which a particular driver handled a foreign student. 3) Company reaction to false and defamatory information posted on a blog called Reddit.
These three issues have been mashed into one, and a handful of people are really fired up and doing everything they can to maximize damage to the reputation of Suburban Express. "Tech Blogs", which seem to have a vested interest in fanning flames to earn clicks and generate attention, have also worked hard to exploit the situation.
At this time, the Suburban Express article is chock full of inaccurate citations. By that, I mean that the article might say, "Suburban Express likes green eggs and ham" and cite Article A. But examination of Article A reveals that there is no such quote in Article A.
Also, the article lacks balance. Much of the quoted material is negative, and the Suburban Express "side" of the story has been left out. For instance, there are "admissible" quotes which discuss the types of situations which lead to collection suits (ie passengers printing multiple copies of one ticket and thereby stealing rides), but these either do not appear in the article, or they are immediately removed -- leaving one side of the story.
A $150 reward is offered for syncing up the article with the cited articles, by removing statements which are not supported by the cited articles or by removing citations, and defending the article against re-posting of bad citations for 60 days.
A $150 reward is offered for restoring reasonable balance to the article and maintaining same for 60 days.
Reward: $150-$300.
Limit on rewards: One, to the person who announces their intent to undertake the work. Reward is payable after 60 days of post-completion maintenance have elapsed. I am willing to negotiate this language.
Expires: 11/15/13
I want to reiterate that this reward is not being offered to swing this article beyond neutral and into our favor. This reward is being offered to correct numerous factual errors related to cited sources and move the article towards a more neutral state. Thank you.
I'd rather see an uninvolved admin re-close that because I think this is an inappropriate action (and I do have a potential COI because I have sent emails with someone who claims to represent the company). Biosthmors (talk) pls notify me (i.e. {{U}}) while signing a reply, thx 09:16, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Biosthmors: I consider myself uninvolved, as my only connection to this posting or Suburban Express is that this posting is tied to the MfD that I closed. As to me not being an admin, I completely fail to see why that would matter. Sven ManguardWha?21:24, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
My logic for holding this is that it was viewed as so controvertial that it lead to both the bounty board and the reward board being listed for deletion. At the MfD for this page, this specific posting was focused on by the MfD nominator and some of the commentators. Clearly the community sees it as out of line, so this close was an extension of that MfD. Sven ManguardWha?20:09, 15 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. That was just the silly anti-paid editing lobby whining. And I don't see why you say [c]learly the community sees it as out of line. Biosthmors (talk) pls notify me (i.e. {{U}}) while signing a reply, thx 12:01, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We will agree to disagree then. At this point I have defended my position as best as I can, and it is clear that neither of us will be converted to the other's position. If it bothers you enough that you feel it warrants the effort, feel free to ask for a second opinion at WP:AN or some other board you view as appropriate, and alert me to the thread. Otherwise, I'm not sure what else to say. Sven ManguardWha?21:43, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Request: This is a slightly different one. Put simply, I have a (low) Bacon number but I think it would be cooler to have an Erdős number (and, hence, an Erdős-Bacon number). This is just for personal gratification, so we don't need to treat the criteria too strictly - I think it would be sufficient to cowrite a substantial article with an editor who has an Erdős number, and perhaps take it through a peer-review process such as GA or FA. This offer is only open to editors who have an Erdős number. I like writing articles on commerce, transport, Africa, and history (especially Ottoman history, maybe a little economic history/taxation &c) and I have some article ideas on the drawing board, but I'm open to suggestions. What do you think? Would you cowrite something with me?
Reward: A glittering array of awards awaits:
An appropriate barnstar
A donation of $100 or €100 to a charity of your choice
The undying respect of your peers (Subject to availability. No cash alternative.)
If you want to "swap", and get a Bacon number (and, hence, an Erdős-Bacon number) for yourself, I'd happily to collaborate on that in some way - all suggestions welcomed.
Reward: Mario Golf (GBC game for 3DS); Brain Age Express: Sudoku (for DSi or 3DS); NES Play Action Football (NES game for Wii or Wii U); or Wario's Woods (NES game for Wii or Wii U).
Limit on rewards: The first four people to succeed at the request will be able to choose from one of the four games. Everyone can choose the same game, for example.
Expires: September 2, 2013 (this is the date that the codes are no longer available)
Request: Create new ribbons to match existing barnstars and add them to the ribbons page. To claim your reward or ask a question about this bounty, please leave me a talk page message.
Reward: Any or all of the barnstars below:
Create 2 new ribbons: The Original Barnstar
Create 5 new ribbons: The Barnstar of Diligence
Create 8 new ribbons: The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
Create 12 new ribbons: The Graphic Designer's Barnstar
Limit on rewards: One set of the above four per user.
Request: Raise Gary England to GA or higher status.
Reward: {{Oklahoma Barnstar}} per significant contributor, defined as anyone who could not review the article at a GAN due to significant contributions. I can also attempt to get the achievement mentioned on a newscast of the TV station where he works. If this happens I will include in the reward a recording the story.
Offeror: SB Johnny on behalf of The Wikipediocracy Fund
Date offered: 15 April 2013
Request: English Wikipedia now has a new List article about the various Wikipedia controversies that have taken place over the years. The List is organized chronologically, by the date when the controversy either happened or became notably covered in reliable sources. We wish to see the List expanded with additional bullet points, where each bullet point is an independent event, and the editor must write at least 50 words about the event, and properly reference at least one credible, reliable source to verify the event and demonstrate its notability. Candidates for this prize will be registered Wikipedia user accounts whose entries are submitted under just one account (no use of multiple accounts). The judges will disqualify any added bullet points that fail to meet the 50-word minimum, or that insufficiently document the content with legitimate reliable sourcing. The judges will also disqualify any user who attempts to "game" the challenge (such as: duplicating entries on the same controversy; deleting the work of others and trying to re-add it as his/her own; plagiarizing other sources; etc.). Note that some Wikipedia articles already have a "Wikipedia controversy" section. Adding these to the new List are fair game, but the edit summary must clearly indicate that the content was based on material already in Wikipedia, not newly-generated content. Also, if you enter copied material that was covered only in a non-English Wikipedia, your edit summary must clearly indicate that your content was based on material translated from another Wikipedia, not newly-generated content.
Reward: Every qualifying contributor to the List will receive a coveted Internet Barnstar. The contributor adding the second-most qualifying bullet points will receive $75 (USD) from The Wikipediocracy Fund. The contributor who adds the most qualifying bullet points will receive $150 (USD) from The Wikipediocracy Fund, along with the Oddball Barnstar. Cash awards may be received via check or PayPal (to recipients who are willing to disclose their identity to Wikipediocracy judges), or the awards may be donated to a non-profit humanitarian charity of choice.
Limit on rewards: No limit on Internet Barnstars. Limit of two (2) cash awards.
Expires: 31 May 2013. Judges will issue all the awards before 15 June 2013.
Reward: Choice of Tireless Contributor or the LGBT Barnstar
Limit on rewards: 1 barnstars to each helper
Expires: 2 June 2013
This is Done, but commons:Category:Birmingham Gay Pride doesn't seem to exist. (Drop a note on my talk page either here or at commons:User talk:WhatamIdoing with a sentence to describe the subject and a guess at where it should be placed in the cat tree, if you'd like me to create it for you.) Also, I changed the links in your list to go directly to Commons, which will save you a little trouble when you go look at these in the future. WhatamIdoing (talk) 02:20, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Reward: 1-25 logos = The SVG Barnstar. 25-50 logos =The Tireless Contributor Barnstar in addition to the SVG Barnstar. Editors uploading 50+ logos will also receive The Graphic Designer Barnstar in addition to the previous two.
Limit on rewards: 1 barnstar for each editor who contacts me on my talk page.
Request: Obtain a free picture of the singer, as I plan to take the article to FAC sometime this year or next year. For those willing to take the picture themselves, it appears she is attending university at the University of Birmingham
Reward: Original barnstar for any free picture, English translation of Sitti Nurbaya (sent by post) for a Featured Picture-quality image (must pass FPC to claim book)
Limit on rewards: Unlimited barnstars, one (1) book.
Request: "The Line" is an episode of Heroes, and it appears to not meet WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Normally, I'd go through its incoming mainspace links to retarget them to The Line (Heroes) (currently a redirect), so that the article can be moved there and the current title can redirect to the dab Line. However, my wife and I are watch Heroes on Netflix and I want to avoid spoilers. My request is that you revise these incoming links. There are fewer than 100. Please contact me on my talk page if you're interested, and I can give you some tips on the quickest way to do this. You can easily complete it in under an hour; it's just a bit tedious.
Reward: One shiny Special Barnstar, or another appropriate one if you'd prefer.
Limit on rewards: This is a one-off. Priority will be given to the first editor to volunteer on my talk page, which should also avoid duplicated effort.
Expires: I'll do this myself if we finish Heroes first. That should happen in the next week or two.
Request: Upload free photos (preferably three) of the production of the the film Terminator 2: Judgment Day. This may mean sending requests to the producer of the film, or any legitimate owners of movie footages.
Reward: Three barnstars of choise; more if the photos are of high-quality or importance, or offer an unique insight into the filming of the film.
Request: Help add topic-specific interviews from the C-SPAN Video Library to External links in relevant articles. To help with the process I've created a table with a list of articles that don't currently have links to relevant interviews. For each article to add a link to, I've included a completed template to add the correct interview link to the External links section. The table is here in my userspace: User:WWB Too/C-SPAN ELs
Please note: the entries labelled "Doing" are those where the interview link needs to be added. For those labelled "No CongLinks template in use" or "No C-SPAN template in use" you'll simply need to paste the template I've prepared into the article's External links. For those labelled "Template in use; C-SPAN now added", the {{CongLings}} template is already included in the article's External links but the C-SPAN parameter (c-span=|) needs to be completed. In these cases, if you replace the whole existing template with the one from my table, please take care not to overwrite any new parameters that may have been added.
Reward: Editors adding at least one (1) link are entitled to display this barnstar-inspired personal award. Editors who adds a minimum of ten (10) links are entitled to display the award and may be eligible to receive a free C-SPAN baseball cap (click links for images). Contact me on my user Talk page for more details.
Limit on rewards: In the case of the C-SPAN baseball cap, we can only send to U.S. addresses. 15 hats available. Limit one per individual editor.
Request: Help to improve Wikipedia by reducing the backlog of articles requiring copy edit. Every second month, we hold a copy edit drive, in which we improve articles listed at Category:Wikipedia articles needing copy edit.
Reward: Various barnstars, depending on how much you do. Please see our How-to guide if you are unfamiliar with the copy edit process. For how to take part, see the Drive main page.
Request: The Guild of Copy Editors aims to improve Wikipedia by reducing the backlog of articles requiring copy edit. Every second month, we hold a copy edit drive, in which we improve articles listed at Category:Wikipedia articles needing copy edit.
Reward: Various barnstars are available, depending on the amount of work you are able to complete. Please review the information in our How-to guide if you are not familiar with the copy edit process. Information on how to track your progress for the drive is available on the Drive main page.
Date offered: 21:12, 26 April 2010 (UTC) [Reposted; originally posted 02:01, 3 May 2006 (UTC)]
Request: Color photos of World War II military equipment for which Wikipedia has an article but not a free-license color image. Images should have a person in the picture to give a sense of scale: carrying or wearing the equipment for personal gear and weapons, or standing next to it for vehicles and larger weapons. Images should be in the public domain or under an appropriate Creative Commons license.
Reward: One photograph of anything the reward-claimer wants per photo provided, provided that I can legally and reasonably create that photo in the Inland Northwest.

Limit on rewards: One per editor unless they bring it up to a higher class, in which case more are allowed
Request: Give me at least 3 pics of Hong Kong factories of different districts (please upload to COMMONS), or give me the exact figures of the employment structure of any year of the 1960s in Hong Kong, or the employment structure of the manufacturing industry alone.
Reward: That photo award thingy... yeah I'll give it to you, don't worry.
Limit on rewards: No limit. 1 photo award every 3 pics. For every additional three, the original barnstar. Citation barnstar for the info on employment structure.
Expires: 4 July 2011
Due to partial and unreliable collection of labour statistics (and a huge informal sector) it's not practical to give exact, trustworthy stats on employment in Hong Kong in the 1960s. I can provide estimates/reviews by third parties, though (mostly articles by researchers looking into Hong Kong's economic history). Happy to email a couple of documents depending on what exactly is needed. bobrayner (talk) 14:23, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
GA achieved! It's such an obscure and un-realized craft that I'm not sure if FA is even feasible. One would have to have access to the actual Arado documents, blueprints, etc. BUT, I was glad to have helped to get it this far. NielsenGW (talk) 12:31, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No way. I'm positive A-class is the next rung on the ladder for this great article (Cheers!), and up beyond that is the star of FA, maybe even part of a GT or FT. Who says obscure planes can't get FA? Obscure Russian ships are doing it (see this). WikiCopter (radio • sorties • images • lost • defense • attack) 01:20, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Request: Expand and add additional references to Caracol falls.
Reward: If anyone expands this article, I will award the {{The Barnstar of Diligence}}. For adding refs, I will give the {{The Citation Barnstar}}. If anyone does both, I will award two barnstars.
Reward: For GA status the Running Man Barnstar, for FA status the coveted Olympics Barnstar. An alternate reward would be 3 GA reviews of your articles for a GA and 10 GA reviews of your articles for an FA.
Request: Upload a suitably licensed (not fair use) photo of David Kato, the recently-murdered Ugandan gay rights activist and add it to his wiki-bio. This is urgent as there is a related DYK nomination which would benefit from an image.
Reward: A suitable barnstar will be awarded, the uploader may choose from the Human Rights Barnstar, the LGBT Barnstar, the Barnstar of Liberty, or the Special Barnstar. Suggestions for a different suitable barnstar will be considered.
Limit on rewards: One only.
Expires: February 10, 2011. After you added the image to the article, please leave me a note on my talk page.
Request: Proposals for corporate Pro bono work within Wikipedia
Reward: USD $250 total reward purse
Limit on rewards:
About:
We are seeking proposals, suggestions, and crazy ideas for common-interest Wikipedia projects to be funded by corporations.
Think Big! Projects should have enough work for a large group of people to contribute.
Rules:
Anyone with a valid Wikipedia User Account, in good standing, may participate
You must follow all Wikipedia guidelines and policies, at all times, both in letter and spirit
You must declare your Intent to Participate
You must create your proposal in your own Userspace
To be eligible to receive a monetary reward, you must submit a Request for Reward containing a link to your proposal and a short summary (250 words or less).
Optionally, you may select to donate your reward to the Wikimedia Foundation
Review: The proposal describes the idea in a basic form. More information is needed about: costs, collaborative structure, methods of document liberation, language issues, etc. The proposal is of acceptable quality. The user is eligable for a reward. Eclipsed(talk)(COI Declaration)09:14, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Award: The user is eligible for a US$10 reward for submitting an acceptable quality proposal. However, the user was Participant #1 (there being no other submissions by deadline), and thus eligible for the higher US$50 reward. As such, User:Zscout370 is awarded US$50. Congrats!
A sample BrowncoatAward barnstarCheck back every week or so for updates; any duplicate FF/S items I end up with will be added here as additional rewards.
Request: Be the principal improver and "process shepherd" in moving an article relating to Firefly (TV series) and Serenity (film) at least one assessment class or reviewed status higher (as detailed below), and get incidentally very relevant reward items with real collectible value. I'll pay for the packaging and shipping (including bag-'n'-board or sleeve-'n'-toploader, as applicable). In addition to specific, non-virtual rewards covered below, all completed reward levels also include the {{BrowncoatAward}} barnstar illustrated here (or a different barnstar if requested and it seems appropriate, for those who already have BrowncoatAwards). Photos of reward items available on request (use e-mail; I can't just post them here, since they're copyrighted and it wouldn't be covered by fair use). Alternative bounty: For anyone who is entirely anonymous and does not want anyone to have contact information for them, I'll be happy to make a donation on your behalf, per the Wikipedia:Bounty board, in the approximate value of the offered reward items instead of sending you the items.
Rewards: There are different rewards for different levels of article improvement. I "upgrade" the offered rewards with addtiional and/or better items as I accumulate more duplicate things I don't want to bother eBaying away.
For "Featured Article" status: A limited edition (of 5000) Serenity: Better Days #1 variant cover comic book (it eBays for around US$25 as of September 2010). From Dark Horse Comics, in association with the California Browncoats club and the Kids Need to Read Foundation. It is a charity fundraiser edition, exclusive to the 2008 San Diego ComicCon, with a variant cover featuring wrap-around pencil art by Will Conrad. Condition: NM. Plus 2 Serenity promo trading cards (Inkworks 2005, serial numbers SP-1 & SP-CEE), NM-M condition, I'd probably say M, but my eyesight isn't 20/20 any longer; worth about $1-3 on eBay. There is only one of this reward!
For "A" class up from "GA" (or from "B" if "GA" is skipped): A "Serenity: The future Is Worth Fighting For" promo post card, NM-M condition, with blue, moody art of Mal & River. Value probably around $5. Plus 2 Serenity promo trading cards, SP-1 & SP-CEE, as above. There is only one of this reward!
For "Good Article" status up from "B": The World of Serenity, a 6-page trifold full-color promo brochure with cast & Whedon bios, a really nice full-page group shot of the Big Damn Heroes, and "Serenity" movie logo in large size. 8.5 × 35.5 in. (8.5 × 11 in closed), condition: VF+ to NM, sells for around $20 on eBay as of October 2010. Plus 2 Serenity promo trading cards, SP-1 & SP-CEE, as above. There is only one of this reward!
For complete "B" class up from "Start"/"C": 4 Firefly/Serenity promo trading cards (SP-1 & SP-CEE, as above, plus 2006 P-1 & P-2, all in NM-M condition, with P-2 being worth $2-6 on eBay, the rest $1-3). There is only one of this reward!
For "Start"/"C" class up from "Stub" or non-existent: 2 Serenity promo trading cards (SP-1 & SP-CEE). There are over 20 of this reward available.Browncoat is a great candidate, as there's almost no real information there, and a great deal missing (there's an entire notable-in-itself documentary film about BCs, a network of regional BC websites, the annual, international "Can't Stop the Serenity" global charity fundraiser, etc.)
Un-limitations: I want to be as incentivizing as possible.
Except as noted, these rewards apply to any article directly connected to the Firefly/Serenity 'verse, including articles about the episodes and comics or other media, about Browncoats or "Can't Stop the Serenity", about actors or crew, about production or other involved companies, whatever.
A "tag-team" of two or more editors can each qualify for rewards where there are multiple rewards available (and they actually appear to be working together and not edit-warring. >;-)
Rewards are cumulative on request: A new article all the way to FA (new/Start/C to B to GA to A to FA would net 2+2+4+2 (12) cards, plus whatever non-card stuff I add to the GA bonus, and the ltd. ed. comic, but only if you specifically request the duplicate cards (since you might not want them, and they can be used as incentives for improving more articles).
Anyone with concerns about my trustworthiness with regard to sending you the rewards can examine my eBay feedback score (e-mail me from my WP user page and ask for my eBay ID).
Just let me know on my talk page that you intend to claim one or more of these bounties, and for what article, and (eventually) when the goal is reached. I'll review article history and I'm not going to deny a reward just because you weren't the only person improving the article; I just need to see focused effort on improvement. If you have any questions regarding if a contribution will qualify please contact me first.
Definitions of status/assessment levels:
"'Featured Article' status" and "'Good Article' status" don't include restoration of delisted FA's or GAs, unless the work to restore the status is quite significant and mostly single-handed (e.g., the article Serenity (film) itself, down to "B" class as of this writing, probably doesn't apply, since fixing it looks like a big group effort and not much to fix, really).
"'A' class" means assessed as that class by a relevant, broad project (WikiProject Film, WikiProject Science Fiction, WikiProject Biography/Arts and Entertainment, WikiProject Books, etc., as applicable, just not WikiProject Firefly which has a conflict of interest), or by an independent peer review.
"Complete 'B' class" means satisfying all 6 of the explicit B-class criteria as defined at WP:ASSESS#Grades (B -> More detailed criteria -> [show]); I'll be the judge of that, regardless of project assessments or lack thereof - projects too often hand out "B" assessments to articles that don't even meet half of these criteria.
"'Start' class" and the rarely used "'C' class" class both mean the same thing here: A basic but well-written article that stands okay on its own, with no dispute/cleanup tags, all facts reliably sourced, and not something so fanwanky/crufty that it is likely to be deleted or merged; essentially, something good enough for WP:DYK, but not fulfilling all "B" class criteria yet. Brand new articles qualify in theory, though it's hard to think of a notable topic within scope that has no article yet. One thing that does qualify is re-development of a summary section at another article into its own full article like Malcolm Reynolds was from List of Firefly characters (do not attempt this with a minor character or other cruft, or it will just get merged back into the source article where it belongs). River Tam (presently a redirect) is perhaps the most obvious candidate, as long as one is aware of the WP:NOR and related issues that led to the article being blanked and redirected to the extant summary (a lot of cleanup will need to be done on the history-preserved material, or a new article written from scratch).
I reserve the right to impose a waiting period (up to 1 month, or until resolution of disputes if any apply) on fulfillment of any reward if I suspect that something bad may happen like an AfD, the undoing of an article split, or a dispute about a newly-granted status/assessment grade. (That said, I want to give these items away, as I have too much stuff, and eBay is too tedious for things that aren't worth a bundle.)
Limit on rewards: See each reward for availability of collectibles. No limit to the number earnable by one editor. I'll update this listing as rewards are claimed and new rewards become available.
Expires: December 31, 2010 (Will most likely be extended)
Description: I am currently the project lead on the dANN project and therefore too bias to personally contribute articles or links to dANN to wikipedia. As such I am offering 200$ for any article written about dANN that becomes a featured article (first one only). In addition 50$ for any article not generally considered a stub (first 2 only). Also 10$ for every external link pointing to dANN or otherwise mentioning dANN specifically in another article (first 10 only). I'd like to point out i do not want to see any pointless spamming. You must follow the wikipedia standards and strive to be as unbias as possible.
Limitations: All articles and links must remain consistently for 45 days in a row to receive reward. All contributions flagged as spam, considerable bias, or otherwise using underhanded tactics will immediately disqualify you. Less severe violations wont disqualify you but must be fixed before receiving reward.
Contact Me: I can be reached at jeffrey.freemansyncleus.com or freemogmail.com or you can find me on irc.freenode.org at #dANN. Of course i can also be reached via my user's talk page. If you have any questions regarding if a contribution will qualify please contact me first.
Request: Was looking for information on this article, Canadian Public Debt and it is grossly under-developed and missing key information. So here's my request to fellow users; Make 20 constructive (and still verifiable by sources) edits to this page. Up to 3 barnstars will be rewarded based on activity (See below).
Reward: Graduating scheme of awards; first 20 edits the user will get a minor barnstar, 40 edits total the user will get a full original barnstar, 100 edits will get the user a barnstar of deligence. For a total possibility of 3 barnstars for 100 constructive edits. Questions/concerns bugs with the award scheme can be posted on User:Ottawa4ever/Challenges.
Limit on rewards: Maximum of 3 awards per person.
Expires: December 31st, 2010, or when 3 users complete the task.
Request: Bring three stub-class articles of any topic to B-class, potentially using Special:Random. They do not necessarily have to be related to each other (though they could), and you don't need to do it all on your own. However, you should clearly have done a substantial portion of the work. They need to have all of the attributes of a well-written article: proper grammar, citations, categories, etc.
Reward: For three articles at B-class from one editor, I will award a The Working Man's Barnstar. If two or more editors work together, they will get the Teamwork Barnstar. If an editor does the task with articles of similar topics, they will get a barnstar that is related to that particular topic. Finally, if an editor does two sets of three, they'll get a Tireless Contributor Barnstar.
Limit on rewards: An editor can be awarded up to two barnstars. No cap on total awards - just as long as it's completed before it expires.
Request: Add at least two reliable sources to 20 articles in the Unreferenced BLP category. Please provide diffs
Reward: The BLP barnstar see below
Limit on rewards: 2 per user.
Expires: 6 months from offer (March 26, 2011) on January 1, 2010
UPDATE: So far, 402 articles have been removed from the backlog. Given the considerable number of articles remaining, I've decided to change the criteria of the reward system so that there will not be a loss of motivation. As of Oct 10 the system will be as such:
Request: 40 constructive edits to hip hop article. Looking for: copy editing, referencing, re-structuring, quality photos, re-write 'legacy' and 'diversification' section.
Reward: Tireless Contributor barnstar The Hip Hop Award.
Limit on rewards: One per editor.
Expires: January 1st, 2011.
I've made about 43 edits to the article; mostly wikification and improvement of sentence structure, as well as a couple of citations. I have a Tireless Contributor barnstar, so I think I'd like to try something new, and have a Hip Hop award. Thanks! Wilhelmina Will (talk) 03:43, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Request: Help me in bringing Sufism in India to at least B class. The article must be given a big history section with proper citations. Notify me on my talk page if you are interested in taking up the challenge before starting. Note: The Sufi Saints of South Asia article is a redirect to the same article.
Limit on rewards: There is no limit. Since I expect very few editors to take up the challenge anyway, so all meaningful contributors will get barnstars.
Request: Long description short: There are many articles tagged on Wikipedia with somthing from Template:Article issues. So, go out there, click random article and expand the articles enough so as the tags do not apply, or try to get it to DYK. Articles must be less than 3KB of prose and not already have had a DYK.
Reward: If you fix the article so as no tag applies, than you can send me off to double two stubs or triple one of your choice (provided that their stuff that I actually show knowladge in, movies and actors are not really my strongpoint) . If you manage to DYK it, you get The Original Barnstar and a chance to send me off to get an article of your choice to DYK, provided that it's less than 5KB's of prose and somthing that I know about. Any questions can be asked at my talk
Request: Read the process on how to review AFC nominations. Review nominations, and decide whether they should be declined, put on hold because they need to be improved, or accepted. The task is to accept 10 articles that meet all of the requirements for new articles. You need to provide me diffs to show each creation. If I determine that any of the articles you accepted didn't meet Wikipedia standards, that article will not count towards the reward.
Reward: The AFC barnstar
Limit on rewards: First five to complete the task get the barnstar.
Expires: February 1, 2010
looking for an editor to assist in three article regarding public companies
Request: Make the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement more informative, give it a good introduction which causes people to read the whole article and become aware of the Dangers of the treaty while remaining NPOV. The Treaty could be used to destroy Websites with User generated Content. Where there is money to earn people will do what they can, and Wikipedia is concurrent to many publishers.
Reward: The Defender of the Wiki Barnstar, The Barnstar of Liberty, The Business and Economics Barnstar. The knowledge that maybe you helped prevent the destruction of Wikipedia.
Limit on rewards: You'll get one of the Barnstars Per person if the Article became better than it was before.
Request: Bring any article closely related to FPSPI to GA/FA status. I will not accept articles like Michigan, only articles closely related to FPSPI. Preferably the article itself. Notify me when completed.
Reward: A barnstar or more. Depends on how well the work is done.
Expires: 15 February 2010. Expiration date added by User:Griffinofwales. See talk page.
Request: Bring to featured article status any article about a small town in Saskatchewan. Applies to any town, village, hamlet, Indian reservation, or small city with less than 20,000 people as of this date.
It's not a reward for nominating, or voting for an article. It's a bounty for any edit that helps an article match the featured article criteria.
It's possible that multiple people worked on bringing an article to featured status. I'll provide a place for contributors to provide diffs showing how much they contributed to bringing the article to featured status and divide the bounty proportionally. Editors will have 14 days to show what their proportion is, after that, the entire bounty will be paid according to the diffs provided, and no further claims will be accepted.
Request: Create an article about Dutch TV personality Gert van der Vijver, a.k.a De Zandtovenaar (The Sand Magician)/Take it to GA status.
Reward: 10 GA Reviews / See below for conditions
Limit on rewards: 5 GA reviews to the creator of the article, and 5 to the editor who gets it to GA status. To claim, go to my talk page and leave a note there.
Request: Get a free-image eqivalent for this, this, and this. The fact that the images are not free is preventing them from being put on their article's infoboxes, and if you can get a free version, or ask the Russian Academy of Science for permission through a valid OTRS request, I would be most greatful.
Request: Create a page for a character from The Mentalist who doesn't have a page yet. For starters, Grace van Pelt and Wayne Rigsby currently lack Wiki pages. Once you have written the article and published it, post a note with a link to the article on my talk page.
Limit on rewards: You get one star for each article you create and expand past a stub. More than one person can receive a star, since there is more than just one character who need a page!
Request: Improve this list article. Some improvements could be but not limited to: Providing more reliable sources to the article, completing the table for more information, expanding the list, adding pictures (properly licensed). A barnstar of diligence will be rewarded to writers who significantly (Lets say equivalent to 20+ constructive normal edits) improve the article. *If the list can be brought up to FL-Class an additional barnstar will be rewarded to the contributer(s) who have won this barnstar of diligence. Any questions about this please respond here; User:Ottawa4ever/rewards, thanks
Reward: Barnstar of diligence, Barnstar*
Limit on rewards: unlimited (limit one per person)
Expires: July 22, 2009 (with possibility of extension to August 22)
Request: I need a free photograph (includes GFDL or CC) of Crush 40, featuring both band members Johnny Gioeli and Jun Senoue (since you're not going to find the entire band together in one photo, though they are still playing). Unfortunately, they don't perform live, so you won't be able to find a photo someone took at a show for it. My recommendation is to ask for permission for one of the photos of them at their MySpace page or at Jun Senoue's official fansite (a better quality image is better) and have it uploaded with validated OTRS. Copyright violations and fair use images will not count, since this is being used for an infobox. I'm also very good at picking out copyright violations, so don't try it, either.
Reward: I'll give you one of two things and you can take your pick of which one: a barnstar or I will copyedit an article of your choice.
Limit on rewards: I only need one photo, but if you can get two, I'll give you one of each of the above.
Request: Get an article to GA status, or if it's already GA, FA.
Reward: I will either design you a new userpage (I'm good, check out mine), make an ad for a project of your choice (for an idea of what I'm talking about, go here and scroll to advertisements, or give you a barnstar. You choose.
Limit on rewards: None,so get out there and do it!
Expires: July 6, 2009
Notes: Leave me a message on my talk page when you are done.
Limit on rewards: Awarded to the primary editor; in the event that multiple editors contribute equally, may be split up or augmented as appropriate.
Expires: June 8, 2009 (the 200th anniversary of the death of Thomas Paine).
Note: I am an established editor using a single-purpose account to post and offer these bounties. I realize it's unusual, but I don't wish to broadcast my religious views to the public out of employment and safety concerns. Don't hesitate to contact me on this account's user talk page if you need anything. =)

Limit on topics: Must fall within the theme of WikiProject Furryand be "in the furry community," not merely "something [some] furries are interested in." As a rough guide, topics falling within Category:Furry fandom are a good sign, while topics around before the late 1960s/early 1970s (before the furry community existed) are unlikely to count, as are creative properties or characters developed by large companies. For example: The Lion King, Set (mythology), or Miles "Tails" Prower would not be suitable, while Albedo Anthropomorphics, fursuit or furry convention would. All non-related-topic entries in {{furry fandom}} are good choices. If in doubt, contact offerers in advance.
Limit on rewards: Only the first featured article and the first ten good articles will receive a bounty.
Reward: An appropriate barnstar. If the editor also brings it to good or FA status, additional barnstars will be awarded.
Limit on rewards: Articles that were already partly referenced when the editor started or those with external reference which are obviously supposed to be listed as references do not count. (I will count 3 stubs [of at least 1500 characters readable prose] as one full article). Anyone can respond until the offer expires.
Expires: JanuaryMarch 3March 31, 2009May 1, 2009 (deadline extended) Per this posting, Mgm has agreed to a one month extension on this reward offer. New deadline will be June 1, 2009. H1nkles (talk) 14:49, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request: Pictures wanted to help illustrate a wide variety of body types for the Body mass index article. Take pictures of yourself (or someone else, with consent) from the front and the side, against a neutral background, wearing approximately boxers or sweatshorts (or the female equivalent). You can obscure the face or other identifying features. Include accurate height and weight for the subject, so BMI can be calculated. Pictures must be freely-licensed.
Reward: USD$2 each will be paid via Paypal, personal check, or charitable donation. Pictures may be uploaded here or at Wikimedia commons. Please leave message on User talk:Creidieki.
Request: create from scratch or raise from pity shape any article related the history, politics, economy, anything of any of these three countries to WP:Featured status.
Additional requirement: the editor has to live in any of these three or other former-USSR countries (Baltic States are also eligible).
Reward: Reimbursement of three months worth of the costs of your Internet service provider (DSL or other high speed services are also eligible within reason)
Notes: please contact the awarding party by email here if you have any questions, to claim an award or if you are interested in cosponsoring. The donor is an established editor (maybe a group of editors) willing to make this offer anonymously. The moneys will be paid in cash in your local currency in an informal manner. If several editors co-edited the article together, the reward will not be divided. Rather all main contributors will receive a full award.
Limitations: None. The offer may be terminated at any time while there are no specific plans to do so.
Notes: I would appreciate if anyone can tell me what's wrong with the article I've been working on for the past two years and have yet to reach FA status.
Reward: How about a pat on the back for a job well-done? Just kidding. I will send you a copy of the book Islam by Dr Al-Faruqi. Only 3 copies are available.
Request: Bring any article to FA status and contact me once it is done.
Reward: I will compose a (potentially violent or lecherous) limerick in your honor. Upon request, I could compose the limerick in honor of the article subject instead. The completed limerick will be posted to your talk page. Limit two per person.
Request: Make the above picture a featured picture to put on the Main Page for Father's Day 2009 (June 21st) or Father's Day 2010 (June 20th)
Reward: Special name graphic made for your page (see this, this, and this), or I can re-design your page to your liking. Just please provide a sketch of what you want.
Limit on rewards: When the photo is on the Main Page on either Father's Day 2009 or Father's Day 2010 (I think that's just one reward :-) )
Reward: The Michael Jackson Barnstar of Contribution
Limit on rewards: Award may be bestowed upon more than one editor. If more than one editor brings the article to GA status, then each will receive a barnstar.
Request: Write code for phab:T27471 (add a "delete associated talk page" checkbox to the delete form) and shepherd it through the WMF's code review process such that the improvement is incorporated into MediaWiki master branch. (Adjustment to site JavaScript is not acceptable.) Reward is payable when the improvement is deployed to the English Wikipedia. Contact User:MER-C if more details needed. (See [12] for some additional comments.)
Request: Create a new article for Elgi Equipments. There is already a draft at Draft: ELGi Equipments, which however, does not adhere to Wikipedia's guidelines. The draft needs to be edited so that it meets NPOV and other basic Wikipedia guidelines. If more references are required, I can provide that as well.
Reward: US $10 via PayPal. Please make sure you have a valid PayPal account.
Limit on rewards: None.
Expires: 31 October 2021.
Sign-up: Please feel free to ping me, leave a message on my talk page, or contact me in any other possible way.
Reward: One original barnstar (or any other appropriate barnstar of your choice) to every editor who plays a substantial role in promoting the article.
Limit on rewards: N/A
Expires: July 15, 2020 (will renew offer as necessary)
Request: Add ten newly uploaded photos to articles related to Door County. They must be newly taken natural photographs without a matte finish or color enhancements, although glare from a camera flash is fine. The photos can be added to the articles by the original uploader or by anyone else. The award only goes to the photo uploader. Photos which are uploaded to Commons but not used on articles do not count towards the ten photos. For ideas, see the suggested photos list.
Sign-up: Just drop a note on my talk page to let me know you've added ten photos, or that you've uploaded photos and need help getting them on the articles.
Request: Post the content on Web Monetization that you developed on an outside platform of your choice with web-monetization enabled. Make a ko-fi account. Set an open license. Dedicate to Wikimedia.
Reward: 1-100 USD, paid through ko-fi, depending on the complexity and quality of the creation from me and hopefully others. Note 1: I was inspired by Safe Harbor strategies in TeaDrinker's comment. Note 2: I would like to give this stipend to underrepresented communities and topics, in line with The Wikimedia Movement Strategy. Note 3: I got a larger grant this effort is part of, and plan to call more rounds for donations, yet I would like to see the system become independent. Note 4: The anonymity of the donor and donee can still be preserved in both web-monetization and ko-fi. Note 5: There is no need to set up a wallet - Coil account with WordPress plug-in or posting on the community site and setting payment pointer to a social good initiative is enough.
Limit on rewards: At least 10 prizes, around 1000 USD total.
Expires: Nov 30, 2022 (first round of awards)
Sign-up: Post the link on your outside content and its inclusion to Wikimedia to claim below.
