Spinnaker Software South Africa

[edit]

We have picked up a Spinnaker Software UK on your system, which is exactly the same as our name "Spinnaker Software". Our question is what would be the best way to update / add ‘Spinnaker Software (South Africa)’, a different company with the same name to the existing content on the current ‘Spinnaker Software Wikipedia page’

Regards David Geldenhuys Marketing Executive Spinnaker Software. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 154.70.210.218 (talk) 08:01, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you can show that your company meets Wikipedia's minimum standards of WP:Notability then you can request an article on Spinnaker Software (South Africa) at WP:Requested articles, or create a draft at Draft:Spinnaker Software (South Africa). Because of your WP:Conflict of interest, it would be better if someone else could create the draft, but if you decide to do it yourself than you are required to disclose your WP:PAID connection. The new content should not be added to the existing article, but, if the new article on your company is accepted, then the old article could possibly be renamed to Spinnaker Software (USA), and an entry for the new article could be added at Spinnaker (disambiguation). Table header view

[edit]

There is a new option in "Preferences" that reads, "Make sure that headers of tables remain in view as long as the table is in view". I have enabled it, yet it does not work on Firefox (my primary browser), but does on Chrome. Is anything being done about this? --Kailash29792 (talk) 11:00, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kailash29792. I would suggest posting to Wikipedia:Village pump (technical). Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 11:53, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That option now has a note that says "(Requires Safari or Chrome)". --David Biddulph (talk) 12:37, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Submit page

[edit]

I previously created a page and edited it. However due to problems with my references formatting, the submission was declined. I have edited the references to conform with the format though I can no longer see the submit option. Kindly help.

I would also like to change the page title to Eke U. Eke. Kindly assist.

The page I would like to resubmit is as below. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Eke_Ugbaga_Eke

Your revised article was deleted by@Sjb72: for being promotional(WP:G11) and because it had a copyright violation(WP:G12). - X201 (talk) 11:37, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bashir Khanbhai MEP 1999 to 2004

[edit]

Please can you ensure that the following information is added to your data on Bashir Khanbhai MEP:-

1. Bashir Khanbhai was registered as a resident at 22 Ipswich Road, Norwich as this was the residence of Mr & Mrs Pollok with whom Mr Khanbhai stayed whenever he was In the constituency. MR & Mrs Pollok paid the extra Council tax to register him in this way and Mr Khanbhai's name appears on the Electoral Register for that period he was in office. Therefore, the allegation made against him about his residential address in Norwich was WRONG and totally unjustified!

2. Mr Khanbhai was at first de-listed by the Conservative Party. He appealed and was represented by a London barrister. The appeal was heard by the full Candidates Committee of the Conservative Party and they overturned a decison to de-list taken by three members earlier. Mr Michael Howard, the leader of the Conservative Party at the time declared that the Committee's decision was final and he released his statement to the national media stating that: "Mr Khanbhai was retsored to the List of Candidates to fight the European Election of June 2004".

3. Mr Khanbhai's website www.bashirkhanbhai.co.uk was put on the internet in 2004 and remains UNCHALLENGED by the Conservative Party to this day. This website states clearly how the Conservative Party treated Mr Khanbhai who had done nothing wrong whatsoever.

4. The European Parliament conducted its own enquiry and found no reason to take any action against Mr Khanbhai as he had done nothing that contravened European Parliament or European Union legislation or code of practice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.20.38.199 (talk) 11:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Probably belongs at Talk:Bashir Khanbhai instead of here and needs references before it is used. RJFJR (talk) 14:16, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is very clearly a real person running, why is it being deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrotm (talkcontribs) 13:55, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Chrotm: Hello, the edit was removed here with the reason given that it requires a reliable source. Please click on that link for more info. and see WP:REFB for a basic guide to adding references. Hello

Please change the references on this page from 'Velcro' to 'VELCRO (R) brand solutions' as the current text as it stands is a misuse of the VELCRO (R) Brand trademark.

Many thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.148.166.152 (talk) 15:28, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, like a lot of publications Wikipedia has its own house style. Trademarks are one of those things where, in general, we ignore styling demands of the trademark and use normal formatting. See MOS:TM for details. - X201 (talk) 15:43, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Additional: Just a polite piece of advice. We are all volunteers here. Making terse legal style demands like those here and at Talk:Hook and loop fastener don't tend to go down too well. Try talking to people like they're human, you'd be surprised at the results. - X201 (talk) 16:05, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
He won't be too surprised, since we aren't going to change instances of "'Velcro" to "VELCRO (R) brand solutions" no matter how nice he is. Solutions, heh. Yeah let's do that. Herostratus (talk) 06:58, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
WP:SOLUTION. Nyttend backup (talk) 12:15, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sheesh, there's an essay for everything. Well, glad to see that someone here has been busy leveraging our synergies to create a new paradigm. Herostratus (talk) 15:24, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can I remove pages from my watchlist based on when I add them?

[edit]

Hello!

I have just started to use Huggle to revert vandalism. However, I have noticed that it has added every page I edited to my watchlist when I do not want them to because it would be too hard to follow. I have already turned this feature off in Huggle itself but now would like to remove all the pages that were added to my watchlist this past hour. Can I do so or not? It'd be really helpful and will save me time.

Best, ««« SOME GADGET GEEK »»» (talk) 22:47, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

To the best of my knowledge, the watchlist isn't viewable by "date added". One possible solution for you, though it may be a bit of work depending on how many pages you've edited, is to view your contributions and remove the pages that you've edited in the last hour that you don't want. †dismas†|(talk) 22:52, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You could deactivate "Add pages and files I edit to my watchlist" (etc.) under preferences-watchlist. When editing manually, you then have to (remember to) mark the article to be added to the watchlist. With "Edit raw watchlist", you can discard articles in large numbers (although browser and/or backend may hickup with huge lists). Under "Edit watchlist", you can clear the list entirely. If Huggle (or any other tool) puts a useful ID into the entry, then some tool may work, but I have not found any yet. Help:Watchlist#Alternatives to watchlists/Help:Public watchlist may be useful if you accept a static list with manual maintenance. --Mopskatze (talk) 03:01, 14 April 2017 (UTC) P.S.: or... you use a sockpuppet for Huggle.[reply]
