- DannyS712 - Which filter are you talking about exactly? The edit made by the IP user was flagged by three different filters (#51, #280, and #384). The filter that I built and regularly maintain (#51) flagged the edit as it should have, and so did the other two. Where exactly are you seeing that the edit flagged the June 30th version of one or more filters? Can you point it out to me so I can take a look? As far as I know, the edit should've flagged the latest version of filter #51; I don't remove suspicious/bad words from its code unless its been a very long time since the word flagged any edits, and the word isn't blatant or obvious. Let me know; I'm definitely curious and would like to take a look at what you saw... :-) Thanks - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:05, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Oshwah: What I meant was that it didn't look like it would have matched #51 as of june, when you sent it to me, and so was wondering if it had changed since then. Sorry for the confusion --DannyS712 (talk) 01:10, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
- DannyS712 - Ah, I see. I did add a recent change in order to include a few obvious bad words. If filter #51 wouldn't have flagged this edit back in June, then the updates made were good ones. ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:19, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

Once I pushed "published" I noticed another request from another author was listed sirectly above my post, not sure way, so I then pressed "edit" and deleted the other person's request from my post, then pressed "publish" button and my post / request was blocked.

- Ceres (dwarf planet) (filter log)
- Description
- Planet infobox had a clearly wrongheaded entry under "mean radius" - a simple kilometre figure with no decimals or error range, which didn't match (even within measurement error) the volumetric mean of the dimensions given directly above (to 1/10th km and with a 2.0km error range stated), and was cited as coming from the exact same source as said dimensions. I checked the source (including doing a full text search) and found no such figure, or even an estimate, only the dimensions (and those being for radii rather than the diameter used in the infobox, so inline recalculation had already taken place). Edit was aimed at eliminating the incorrect figure, as well as the misleading citation, and replacing it with a volumetric mean calculated from the dimensions, including the resulting error range and an inline note showing the data source used to derive it. Edit reason explained all this.
(Update: my own curious examination of the filter logs suggests it might, for some reason, be triggering on a misdetected blanking of about the last two thirds of the entire article? I cannot account for that, I certainly didn't do it myself / deliberately. Either something freaked out in my browser and it truncated the data in the edit box, or the bot's buffer overflowed and it barfed before reading the entire text...)

- Yes, it does look like your edit tried to blank a very large portion of the article, and so the filter seems to be working as intended. If it was accidental, could you try to make the change to the measurement again (without the massive blanking, obviously) and see if you're able? If not, please write what you want to change on the article's talk page and I will have a look. Thanks. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 13:37, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
- Will do. I definitely didn't intend that. Whether it was a glitch in the editbox (which I wouldn't have noticed as I didn't scroll below where I was editing) or in the bot itself, IDK. 51.7.16.171 (talk) 17:52, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

- Literally just adding a query to the article talk page about questionable (and unsourced / questionably sourced) data included on the main page. Funnily enough it didn't have any trouble at all with my preceding edit to the article itself...
- (Edit: apparently it's for "common vandal words". What? Would that be "ass"? Are we filtering down to that level now, even on talk pages, where it's far more likely it might be used in discussion? Because that's as strong / as vandalesque my language got. Lemme go bowdlerise that to "backside", or maybe "arse".)
- (Update: yeah, "arse" works just fine, but "ass" doesn't. Seriously now? I guess it's not a "false positive", but the filtering criteria are still arguably too severe...)

- Description
- I was creating a page for the actress/model Bianka Swool, I added a little biography as some of her films, added links to her website aswell, I though i had done a good job so what does it say thar my draft is potentially unconstructive? I'm new to Wiki, i need some help please.

- @NickL.Stotch: The filter fired because you're a brand new account and the article contained many colorful terms that are part of that industry. In this case you're caught up by a filter that normally stops vandalism. All I can suggest right now is to make the draft incrementally without any of those terms, then after the page contains 90% or so of the content, add those back. If the filter still stops you, you can request they be added (here or on the article talk page). Also once your account has enough edits this filter won't fire anymore. - This IP was bot-reported to WP:AIV after it made several edits (I've checked Special:AbuseLog/24569846, Special:AbuseLog/24569849, Special:AbuseLog/24569854, and Special:AbuseLog/24569857) doing nothing except adding lines to a table and (once) adding a newline. 279, "Repeated attempts to save edit", got triggered because the IP kept repeating the edit, so that makes sense, but I can't see why this specific text would have tripped 260, "Common vandal phrases". I'm quite confident that all of this is a false positive somehow, so I've made the edit myself; I had no problems with the filter, which makes sense since it probably ignores edits by admins. - Done and a change to the filter may be needed. @Nyttend already made the edit, but I tracked down the issue: the IP tried to add
Cruz|D
as part of the addition, which tripped the filter (post cc_norm match forCRUI?Z[IE]?[DR]
). That entry was added by @Crow in Special:AbuseFilter/history/260/diff/prev/18916 - Crow, care to comment? DannyS712 (talk) 23:59, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

In any case, regarding the community consensus you enquired about, this is actually just a monkey see monkey do (mimicking this edit), as IPs are wont to do, so I suppose the person to ask is user:BD2412, thanks for your understanding. 2601:5CC:8300:F98:B533:A2A1:9118:29BA (talk) 20:10, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

- Description
- Hi, I was trying to add the image "2018-10-10 Swimming Girls' 100m Breaststroke Final at 2018 Summer Youth Olympics by Sandro Halank–033.jpg" to the page of Mona McSharry so she would have an image of herself on her Wikipedia page. As you can see, I wasn't able to do that. It seems that the word "Breasts" in the title has made the editor think that I was going to vandalise the page. All the images of Mona McSharry on Commons were taken from the same breaststroke swimming completion at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and all have the word "Breasts" in its title due of having the word "Breaststroke". That makes it imposible to add an image without the editor giving a false alarm. Please revert my edit. Thanks in advance.
