If you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Hello
Is something being done about Padmal's SPI case? It was filed 8 days ago, and not a single CU or clerk has taken a look. The socks have as usual started storming the page and we don't want that to happen much longer. Secret of success (talk) 13:52, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

DYK for List of Chennai Corporation wards
On 8 September 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article List of Chennai Corporation wards, which you created or substantially expanded. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/List of Chennai Corporation wards. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. WikiProject Good articles (Participant Clean-Up)
Hello, you are receiving this message because you are currently a participant of WikiProject Good articles. Since the creation of the WikiProject, over 200 user's have joined to help review good article nominations and contribute to other sections of the WikiProject. Over the years, several of these users have stopped reviewing articles and/or have become inactive with the project but are still listed as participates. In order to improve communications with other participants and get newsletters sent out faster (newsletters will begin to be sent out monthly starting in October) all participants that are no longer active with the WikiProject will be removed from the participants list.
If you are still interested in being a participant for this WikiProject, please sign your user name here and please help review some articles so we can reduce the size of the backlog. If you are no longer interested, you do not need to sign your name anywhere and your name will be removed from the participants list after the deadline. Remember that even if you are not interested at this time, you can always re-add your name to the list whenever you want. The deadline to sign your name on the page above will be November 1, 2012. Shreya Ghoshal
Hello, how are you?. Few days ago while i was reading the Shreya Ghoshal article, i have noticed that the awards section was very long and badly formatted. I tried formatting it in the same article, but the outcome was making the page longer and more frustrating to read. So in a rush, i have categorized the awards and created a list page for it (List of awards and nominations received by Shreya Ghoshal). Today, i noticed that there was a previous discussion on this on the article's talk page about creating a new page for her awards. I should have read the talk page before creating the list, and i regret not doing so. I have seen that you opined before that separating the awards section would make the main article shorter. Now I want your advise on how to proceed with the situation, should it be merged or can it exist as a separate page. Sorry for the trouble and thanks. krZna (talk) 04:28, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- The parent article is too small. But the award list is too long and is expected to grow further in the near future. So we might need a separate list for awards at some point in time. If you feel there is no need for a separate page, just make a redirect to the main article. —Vensatry (Ping me) 16:43, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Update for: WikiProject Good articles (Participant Clean-Up)
Sorry for having to send out a second message but a user has brought to my attention that a point mentioned in the first message should be clarified. If user's don't sign on this page, they will be moved to an "Inactive Participants" list rather then be being removed from the entire WikiProject. Sorry for any confusion.--Dom497 (talk)15:26, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Why so?
Why are sites like 'galatta.com' and 'southdreamz' blacklisted? I think they provide useful info! In fact, I developed Alibabavum 40 Thirudargalum (1956 film) with help from Galatta magazine only! Kailash29792 (talk) 17:31, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- They are blacklisted because they are not considered RS; they are nothing but spammers. If you feel they provide useful information, you may raise a request to delist them. —Vensatry (Ping me) 03:58, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
Lillee FLC
I'm afraid I don't do Featured Lists, so I can't really help there. However, the discussion raises an interesting point (over World Series Cricket and other non-official internationals) which has implications for other cricket lists. With that in mind, I would suggest raising the issue at WT:CRIC, where you might get more feedback. I think it needs wider discussion than in one FLC. Sarastro1 (talk) 09:53, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
- I've already done that. Yet to see any response. —Vensatry (Ping me) 14:08, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
- I've started another section which is just about the more general point of including WSC matches or not. As it is a bit more blunt, it might get a better response! Sarastro1 (talk) 18:34, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

AfD of Thulasi Nair
Hi,
This is regarding the Afd of Thulasi Nair. The article didn't had any refs when it was nominated for Afd as well as when you voted. After that, I added three references from Times of India. I believe the references establish notability of the subject. The closing admin didn't considered this and the article has been deleted due to majority at AfD. Here are the three refs: [1], [2], [3]. If you think these refs establish notability, please leave a note at this discussion at the closing admin's talk page. --Anbu121 (talk me) 09:29, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi, any chance you could have a look at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of international cricket centuries by Saeed Anwar/archive1. Thanks. Zia Khan 22:51, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
The article Prema Natakam has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Film databases like IMDB and Just Tollywood have no information on this film from 1981 and a web search finds only cursory mentions (at least in English). Not notable enough for encyclopedic article.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 23:00, 13 October 2012 (UTC)

25 asked me to nom it, admittedly I didn't look too much into it. I've requested closure seems as it clearly has a lot of work needed. But why didn't you both add those comments at the peer review, did 25 not leave a note on the India noticeboard? Image use Policy
Hi, If the permissions released along with a free image is mentioned for a particular usage, can the image be used outside its scope, just because its free? --Anbu121 (talk me) 11:05, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)It is mistakenly called as free image then. You have a particular example in mind? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 12:01, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- This one. It is claimed in the description of the image that the cinematographer of the film released the picture for promotional usage of the film(But there is no source provided for this claim in the image license). Even if it is true, can it be used on the actor's page? --Anbu121 (talk me) 12:14, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- Have a look at the description of the file in its first version in Commons. The description was later stripped down by the uploader. --Anbu121 (talk me) 12:24, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- I suppose the fighting over "source" is happening because the uploader and his friends are thinking source is a "previously published source". Get them to understand that by source you actually mean the source which would prove that the image is released by the real owner under said license. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 03:26, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry! My bad. You have already tried enough to make them understand this issue. The file is now locked. So no one will remove the template. If they understand it well before time, then its good. Or else we have two more images of him to use on en wiki. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 03:32, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- As you can see the image has been locked. It will be deleted unless a source claiming the copyright is produced by the uploader. Special thanks to Dharmadhyaksha :) —Vensatry (Ping me) 09:04, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
