I am both pleased and honored to present you with the Researcher's Barnstar in appreciation for your work in finding sources and improving the article on the 1967 film Adhey Kangal. Excellent work! Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 08:55, 28 July 2012 (UTC) |

A metropolitan area should have a minimum population of 4 million.

But if only the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation area is to be taken into account, the city's population at 35 lakhs falls below the qualifying mark of four millions to be recognised as a mega city.
— [1]
This says mega city, i dont think it means a Metropolitan city, seems like WP:SYNTHESIS ?? --DBigXray 15:44, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- What's a Mega city then? You might find a discussion in the talk page of the article. If Muzaffarnagar is a metropolitan area, hundreds of areas in India can be designated as metros. —Vensatry (Ping me) 15:50, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- I am not trying to support Cents here, I am trying to get a consensus for the template, so first we need to decide what a metroploitan city is, lets find some sources for that first.--DBigXray 15:53, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

are translations necessary?
I find them very useful, u know how i mean. bcoz this is english wikipedia and foreign words should not be used, until they have translations. but i dont see why User:secret of success keeps removing them. if he ever said "as per a recent consensus", i say the consensus is totally dumb and they cannot overpower WP:Translation. Kailash29792 (talk) 12:38, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)I can understand the frustration of few users to this consensus on WP:INDIC but the fight was basically on what language to choose and how many language to choose for translation, As we have many editors in india who are furiously sensitive about linguistic issues . By the way I am neutral on this --DBigXray 12:52, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- When I say translation, I don't mean transliteration. I mean the English meaning of foreign word, Eg: Mere Sapnon ki Rani ("The Queen of my Dreams"). Indic scripts can be removed, but English translations never should. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:56, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying, I dont think there is any consensus for such a thing. Its wrong if he is actually doing that, please discuss with him, and ask him to give you the links for such a consensus (if it really exists) --DBigXray 14:23, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- As far as my knowledge goes, the consensus was only to remove the scripts. —Vensatry (Ping me) 16:41, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

P. C. Sreeram
The Madras Presidency was one of the many provinces of India. The provincial system of administration (which had existed throughout British rule) was dissolved as per the Constitution of India which came into effect on 26 January 1950 and was replaced by states. See this. Initially, there were three kinds of states - the old presidencies of Madras, Bombay and Bengal which were headed by Governors became Part-A states while smaller provinces which were under Chief Commissioners and princely states under Rajpramukhs were classed as Part-B states. There were also a few provinces like Coorg which became Part-C states -RaviMy Tea Kadai 13:37, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
I also found someone claiming in some blog that P. C. Sreeram was a descendant of a P. R. Sundaram Iyer, a well-known early 20th century lawyer. But in the absence of conclusive and reliable proof, I would not advise you to add it.-RaviMy Tea Kadai 13:43, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- It might be true as well; I've read somewhere that Sreeram belongs to the Palghat Iyer community. —Vensatry (Ping me) 08:38, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
I have restructured the reference style, using efn. Also, have added some citations. You can continue to work on it, and add references as appropriate. Hope we'll save the featured status of the list. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 21:30, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Update on list of capitals FLC
The lead was restructured. How does it look to you?
I corrected some errors in the references that you added (formatting errors). I removed two references. The book from UpKaar Prakashan lacks any id, such as ISBN, and ideally should be replaced by better source. I removed that. Also I removed the Webster reference because that Lahore is in Pakistan does not need reference.
Now, the Upkaar Prakashan book supported the Tamil Nadu explanatory note. We can try to find some other reference for it.--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:01, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that. I've not worked with the "Sfn" format previously. —Vensatry (Ping me) 10:23, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- That's ok, I am also in the process of learning this method well. For the peculiar need of references in this list, I found sfn and efn would be the most appropriate method. The good thing is in the FLC page, the editor has told that s/he has no more problem! Looks like we have saved the list.--Dwaipayan (talk) 14:47, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Good call on the review. I was considering taking this to GA, since it is the article that I have the most edits on besides GAs. However, though there is not an edit war, there are a lot of fans adding poorly sourced stuff and so on, so I don't know if its really doable right now. Like a full section on music "career" when she has yet to release a song? Really? It seems to happen with many popular stars that you cannot keep the quality level high on their articles. What do you think? BollyJeff | talk 19:44, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- We cannot stop the anons/newbies unless their edits appear to be vandalism. Besides the few points that I listed out there are more issues with the article. You might go for a PR before getting it to GAN. —Vensatry (Ping me) 16:06, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

- I'm afraid not. The best I could do would be the newspaper obituaries which are already linked at the end of the article. I've got very little on Indian cricket from the period, I'm sorry to say. I've read snippets of Mihir Bose's history of Indian cricket on Google books, and that looks like a good starting point. It doesn't look like there are any full length biographies on him, which makes life trickier. What do you have so far? Sarastro1 (talk) 18:21, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
