Hello, Vanderwaalforces,
If you see a main space page with content that is clearly the work of a student editor, please try to move it back to their User space to an appropriate page instead of tagging it for deletion. Unfortunately, many student editors get excited about editing on the project and prematurely move their work into main space when it is clearly not ready. It happens in November/early December and also this time of the year as well (up to June). It's fairly predictable and those good folks at WikiEd try to stay on top of it and return these pages to User space. But since you are patroller, you may come across these pages and it would be nice if you could understand that these are new editors who don't really understand the standards of what is required for main space articles. Thanks for any help you can provide to them. Liz Read! Talk! 01:59, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Liz Hi there. I will keep an eye for them later. Thank you for your excellent sysop job. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 06:11, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
Hallo
Hello Vanderwaalforces,
How are you doing. Please review this article for me. All the Best! Otuọcha (talk) 06:26, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Otuọcha Scooper News is the worst source to be used on Wikipedia, it is nothing but a news aggregator, and everyone knows that. Pieces like this one are outright inappropriate for Wikipedia. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:47, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Removed. All the Best! Otuọcha (talk) 10:54, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Also, "Emeka Enyiocha" was mentioned four times (pp. 97, 348, 351, 363) in Ayakoroma, B., each passing mention. There's no mention of him being born in so so year, etc. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:00, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- It would be better if you provide the exact page numbers for the other materials. Either way, this subject doesn't meet the general criteria for a standalone entry, it is best to redirect it to the List of Nigerian actors for now. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:05, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

Enquiry about Nigerian sources
Greetings. Please I would like to hear your opinion about the scarcity of online sources for Nigerian notables whose main bulk of work or activities occurred before the advent of the internet so they are not truly represented online. I also would want to discuss with you about the history of Nigerian towns which are not also adequately represented via sources on the internet. I need your email also for a wiki project idea. Thank you. Royalrumblebee (talk) 07:27, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker): Hello dearest editor, Nigeria has advanced in news coverages and impact in the media. However, there are many articles that are lacking sources due to System bias (late existence of the Internet). There are sources in books, magazines and journals which is accessible from Wikipedia Library or from the Internet free access repositories or local libraries (even by searching the like terms in google) as the case may be.
I need your email also for a wiki project idea.
Unfortunately, editors are not advised to share their personal contacts with others. You can email here by typing the username of the editor and sendi g message by your registered email on Wikipedia. Regards and thanks for your interest on Nigeria related articles! All the Best! Otuọcha (talk) 10:21, 2 April 2024 (UTC)- @Otuọcha Editors can choose to share their "email" if they are okay with it, but you are not supposed to share another editors information on-wiki, especially when they have never shared it before. There's more to it here WP:PRIVACY. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:42, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Otuọcha, thank you so much for these directions. I am learning fast. Royalrumblebee (talk) 13:13, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Royalrumblebee Hi there. If the wiki project idea isn't private, which it shouldn't, then you can always use this talk page, otherwise, use Special:EmailUser/Vanderwaalforces/Archives/2024, the link Otuocha provided above is a long process. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:42, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Vanderwaalforces, thank you so much for these replies. Indeed, knowledge is power. I shall make use of the directed resources as presented. I am very grateful. Royalrumblebee (talk) 13:12, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024
Hello Vanderwaalforces/Archives/2024,
Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Hello, an article titled AMG Skratch was speedy delected by you it was still in eding process, what was the reason for it ? AMG Skratch (talk) 09:40, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- @AMG Skratch Hi there. I won't assume you do not know what a conflict of interest is because you were warned by Liz previously, but you blanked your talk page, which means you saw and read it. You are writing about yourself which is not a thing to do on Wikipedia. See WP:COI again. By the way, the reason I tagged the article for deletion is very much represented on your talk page, so please read it. Take your time to read it, don't just skim through. Hi @Vanderwaalforces
Thank you for reviewing my submission. I appreciate your feedback, this is to notify you that I have incorporated your suggestions to on the article (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Abubakar_Sani) . As a newcomer to Wikipedia that is eager to learn and improve, Your guidance on which references to include as inline citations will be invaluable in this process. Please feel free to provide further recommendations or assistance to help my article to meet Wikipedia's standards for inclusion in the mainspace. ~Ana (talk) 15:11, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Christiana Stanley Hi there. It's great to see that you're eager to learn and improve, but I do not see a difference currently. And by the way, this still does no pass WP:GNG. It means, Sani does not currently pass the general criteria for a standalone entry yet. Just focus on other aspects as suggested at Special:Homepage since you're relatively new user. You could get suggestions there on copyediting, etc. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 15:36, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Vanderwaalforces could you kindly provide me with specific suggestions for improving my article to meet the requirements for inclusion in the main space? I'm seeking clarification on why it was rejected and what specific aspects of the WP:GNG criteria it doesn't fulfil. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. ~Ana (talk) 08:10, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
