Mentoring
@Fylindfotberserk Hello, thanks for the tips that you gave me.(: Also I would like that someone to mentor me, I would like for you to mentor me, but if you don’t want to could you give me a list or something of people that can. Thanks! The4lines (talk) 17:04, 29 October 2019 (UTC)The4lines
- Always happy to help. As for mentoring, I don't know much about the "voluntary mentoring" (the official stuff), though I try to help everyone that ask for. Another tip, to call (ping) someone, you need to type
{{ping|Fylindfotberserk}}
instead of "@Fylindfotberserk". Secondly, your comment should end with 4 tilde i.e.~~~~
, which will automatically put you signature at the end, without which ping will not work. I got your message through the watchlist, which is a different thing. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:16, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: Ok I did not know. For the mentoring it is your choice if you want, I just want a mentor to ask questions not the official things your choice.
The4lines (talk) 17:21, 29 October 2019 (UTC)The4lines
- Yeah, that's how you do it. As for asking questions, you can come to me at anytime. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:33, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
Ok, thanks! The4lines (talk) 18:19, 29 October 2019 (UTC)The4lines

Indic script
Just to let you know, there's a policy WP:NOINDICSCRIPT according to which Indian scripts could not be used in India-related articles, except articles on Language, Scripts (obviously) and Religion. I've removed the Kannada script added by you here. Hope you understand. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:17, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for telling me that. The4lines (talk) 17:15, 29 October 2019 (UTC)The4lines

Questions
This talk is for questions. The4lines (talk) 18:44, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: Quick question, where would you think is the place or somthing that would be the place that would need editing? Do you know? --The4lines (talk) 23:08, 29 October 2019 (UTC)the4lines
- Check Special:RecentChanges. You can see what's going on at present. You can help by reverting obvious vandalism. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:07, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: How much vandalism do you see/revert? Out of curiosity.
- I believe around 100 per day, that too from my watchlist alone. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:57, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: Oh man, that is a lot! So the recent changes should be a good place to check of edits. What do you have on your watchlist, since you have so much vandalism?
- 6000+ articles. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:32, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
WOW.The4lines (talk) 16:44, 30 October 2019 (UTC)The4lines
@Fylindfotberserk: How hard is it to get a rollback job? For me it is really hard for me to revert vandalism, because I’m using a iPad normally (sometimes I use my computer). The4lines (talk) 17:20, 30 October 2019 (UTC)The4lines
- You only have 26 edits. You need not worry about those rights. Rollback rights are not given based on number of edits, it depends on experience and past behavior. Granting admins will check your edit history thoroughly. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:30, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: Sorry for a the question but, how do I see how many edits I have? The4lines (talk) 21:08, 30 October 2019 (UTC)The4lines
@Fylindfotberserk: Do you think should stay just reverting vandalism, or should I edit more pages.
- Reverting vandalism is an important job, but that's not why most people come to Wikipedia. Editing and creating articles are the primary things people do here. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:20, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: Yeah, but it is hard to find stuff to edit. The4lines (talk) 17:26, 1 November 2019 (UTC) The4lines
- Just click on random pages. You will come across spelling mistakes, grammatical mistakes, etc which you can correct. Don't be hasty. I created my account in February 2009, but I edited my first article in January 2010. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:30, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
Ok sorry. The4lines (talk) 00:01, 2 November 2019 (UTC)The4lines
- Why sorry? You are asking questions that's all. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:57, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
Thanks you made my day! The4lines (talk) 14:37, 2 November 2019 (UTC)the4lines
@Fylindfotberserk: Also I started using twinkle because I saw that it is a good tool. (Also you have it) Do you think it is a good idea to use it? The4lines (talk) 15:06, 2 November 2019 (UTC)The4lines
@Fylindfotberserk: Before I forget, is putting your own opinion on a page vandalism or not because I just undid with twinkle and put rollback not rollback(vandalism)? The4lines (talk) 15:20, 2 November 2019 (UTC)The4lines
- If you see blatant vandalism e.g someone changing the name of the article's subject from say "The Undertaker" to "assfdsahhjj", use the Red one [rollback (VANDAL)]; If you think the edit was not a blatant vandalism, then you can use the Blue [rollback], which will open a text box where you can explain why you reverted. The green one [rollback (AGF)] is for reverting good faith edits. For example if a user changes the billed weight of The Undertaker to 299 pounds which he/she has seen in the TV but the source in the article says 309 pounds. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:59, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
Ok. The4lines (talk) 16:49, 3 November 2019 (UTC)The4lines
@Fylindfotberserk: Any idea why the Counter-Vandalism Unit you need 200 edits to do?
- Minimum requirement. You can take a crash course too. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:03, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
How? The4lines (talk) 19:03, 3 November 2019 (UTC)The4lines
- Visit Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy, get trained by one of the trainers. How many edits you have done in mainspace till now. It is always better to have some experience before hand. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:35, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: What do mean? The4lines (talk) 17:23, 4 November 2019 (UTC)The4lines
- I said increase your Main space edits which is only 17 at the moment. And also visit Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy, there are trainers who will teach you and take exam, but since cut off is 200 edits for roll backers, increase your main space edits to that number. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:33, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: Sorry but I still don’t understand? The4lines (talk) 17:42, 4 November 2019 (UTC)The4lines
- OK, for now concentrate on doing good edits in mainspace for 1-2 months. After that go to CVU. Talk to one of the trainers in their talk page and ask them. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:04, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: Oh, ok thanks sorry for the confusion. The4lines (talk) 18:07, 4 November 2019 (UTC)The4lines
@Fylindfotberserk: Where do i see my main space edits?
- You can check it here. Scroll down to "Namespace Totals", there you'll find the number of edits near "Main", which is 19 at the moment. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:06, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, like my new user page?
- Your user page, your talk page, my or any other user's talk page are not part of the main. Main = real articles, where you have to make changes. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:54, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

- @Fylindfotberserk: What is A Pending changes Reviewer out of curiosity? The4lines (talk) 03:31, 11 December 2019 (UTC)The4lines
- Pending changes protection means to allow good faith changes in an article for review before accepting it. Have you seen article histories that have yellow colored entries stacked up? This is because those pages are pending change protected. A pending change reviewer checks those edits and decides whether to allow those changes or revert those. Go through WP:PEND for more info. Regards . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:10, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

Martian Manhunter
The edits that I reverted are from a persistent anonymous editor who keeps coming into comic character articles where abilities have already been summarized in the infobox, and expanding the list in excruciating detail. I occasionally revert him at the Doctor Manhattan article and this time I saw that he did the same at Martian Manhunter as well. He doesn't use a stable address and doesn't respond to messages. 73.71.251.64 (talk) 04:28, 20 November 2019 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

- A request for comment asks whether partial blocks should be enabled on the English Wikipedia. If enabled, this functionality would allow administrators to block users from editing specific pages or namespaces, rather than the entire site.
- A proposal asks whether admins who don't use their tools for a significant period of time (e.g. five years) should have the toolset procedurally removed.
- Following a successful RfC, a whitelist is now available for users whose redirects will be autopatrolled by a bot, removing them from the new pages patrol queue. Admins can add such users to Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Redirect whitelist after a discussion following the guidelines at Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Redirect whitelist.

- Following a request for comment, partial blocks are now enabled on the English Wikipedia. This functionality allows administrators to block users from editing specific pages or namespaces rather than the entire site. A draft policy is being workshopped at Wikipedia:Partial blocks.
- The request for comment seeking the community's sentiment for a binding desysop procedure closed with
wide-spread support for an alternative desysoping procedure based on community input
. No proposed process received consensus.
- Twinkle now supports partial blocking. There is a small checkbox that toggles the "partial" status for both blocks and templating. There is currently one template: {{uw-pblock}}.
- When trying to move a page, if the target title already exists then a warning message is shown. The warning message will now include a link to the target title. [1]
- Following a recent arbitration case, the Arbitration Committee reminded administrators
that checkuser and oversight blocks must not be reversed or modified without prior consultation with the checkuser or oversighter who placed the block, the respective functionary team, or the Arbitration Committee.
- Following a recent arbitration case, the Arbitration Committee reminded administrators

Rollback granted
Hi The4lines. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! – Juliancolton | Talk 02:51, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

Spelling variants in English
Hi The4lines; thank you for your help with the current GOCE Blitz. Just a quick note; I see in this c/e, you've changed the spelling variety from British English (BrEng) (neighbourhood, learnt, etc) to American English (neighborhood, learned, etc). Please be careful with these changes; because of India's strong connection with the UK, the spelling style most commonly used there is BrEng, and Wikipedia articles about India should reflect that, per WP:ENGVAR. Thanks for your work on the Blitz, I hope you'll continue copy-editing. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 02:29, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Misuse of rollback feature
Here you used the rollback feature to undo the edit of an editor that appears to be in good faith, I can see no evidence of vandalism or bad-faith editing in that edit that you rolled back. Can you please self-undo your rollback and leave a proper edit summary explaining why you object to the edit OR (alternately) can you leave a note on the article talk page explaining why you have undone the edit? Also, please review the rollback policy at Wikipedia:Rollback. Thanks. --Jayron32 19:55, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

Adding information that contradicts another article
Hello, I have never tried adding/changing anything on Wikipedia until now, and the first time I'm trying to add something I'm running into a few problems. Based on https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/38-1/s134#details there were 3 Democratic Senators that voted in favor of the 13th amendment to the constitution, yet on the 13th amendment and Senator James Nesmith's pages, they claim that only 2 Democratic Senators, James Nesmith and Reverdy Johnson, voted in favor of the 13th amendment's passage.
The missing Senator in question is Benjamin F Harding. His page, alongside Reverdy Johnson's, has no mention of their votes in favor of the amendment.
I was planning on correcting both claims in the two articles alongside adding the claim to the pages of the 2 other Senators. The claim on the 13th amendment is not sourced, but the page is locked. So I figured I'd change it on the 3 men's pages, and whenever I'm able to make 7 more edits and have had my account for long enough, I'd do so on the 13th amendment's page.
I ran into a bit of a dilemma on James Nesmith's page. The claim there is sourced twice in two different books. I have been able to read the first source online, and the claim is dubious at best. The page they cite has no mention of either James Nesmith's vote or Reverdy Johnson's vote. It mentions Reverdy Johnson's support of an amendment like the 13th and the previous pages spoke of other prominent Democrats that supported such an amendment, yet no mention of the actual voting. Reading past the page they cite will require I get access to the book. I plan on doing so if I can find it at my local library.
I have not been able to view the page of the second source, if my local library has it I'll try and read it. Though if it's as dubious as the first citation I doubt it has the facts to back up the article's claim.
Am I in my rights to add the note to the pages of Reverdy Johnson and Benjamin F. Harding if I leave the other two pages alone? I was planning on doing so but thought it'd be strange to have these claims hyperlinked to James Nesmith's and the 13th Amendment's pages with contradictory statements.
So, can I delete the claim on James Nesmith's page and add my correction? The two sources are only used once in the article, in the claim I'm disputing, so I'd feel bad for the person who originally put the effort in publishing the claim only for me to remove it and their two sources entirely.Jinandwin (talk) 23:46, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
