Tragic Kingdom's FAC
This is hard work, eh? Thanks for the constant attention to the article. Now "Production" is its own section and the singles subsection has been trimmed, the "Music" section looks skinny. Is there any way we could change it to look more like this? I don't know where we'd get all the quotations from though. DAMNDAMNDAMN!
I don't own the album. Is there much/anything in the liner notes?

Sonic Unleashed
Thanks for that, glad all the hard work paid off. Perhaps I can try some other Sonic games, would be nice to see more of the series get GA status; even if it has been tanking for a while, it's probably still legendary enough to deserve it. SynergyBlades (talk) 01:57, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
- Please do. My only advice would be to restrict your scope to the main game entries for the time being, for the collection of Sonic articles are notorious around the interwebs for their exceedingly detailed in-universe content (read: cruft generally added by the rabid 3D-era fans, mostly as IP editors), and trying to wrap your brain around the task of bettering all Sonic articles in general is not for the faint-hearted. :) I'd quite like to get the Genesis-era games up to GA, but the further back one goes the less likely it is that reliable development and reception information can be (easily) found. Top video game importance
Hi- I noticed some of your recent edits regarding article importance. The Video games project recently updated their importance scale, and one result of the lengthy discussion was that all articles about a single video game would be not be rated top importance without a discussion at WT:VG. If you think some the games you rerated to top deserve the rating, you are welcome to start a discussion there.
Also, if you are interested in helping with assessments, the VG project has an Assessment department that rates articles and offers basic advice to editors. There are several experienced editors there that could use the help with assessing and would help you learn the ropes. Feel free to post on the talk page if you're interested. - Ah, snow. We have about 25 cm (10 inches) of it here in London so everything was cancelled for the day due to lack of transport. Good news about Everything in Time. Thanks for updating my page. Now to focus efforts on Boom Box (album) until we can nominate that over at WP:GAN. While that goes through the lengthy backlog we can brush up the music section of Tragic Kingdom. I'm sure we can write lots about the themes of Stefani's femininity and breakup with Kanal and fill it with quotations from the interview mine on the band's website. Orphaned non-free media (File:ShadowTheHedgehogScreenshot.JPG)
Thanks for uploading File:ShadowTheHedgehogScreenshot.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:11, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Shadow the Hedgehog
You've definitely done a great job, especially on the now-referenced gameplay section and plot. For the plot, it might be nice to include something about what sort of range the ten endings encompass, something I wouldn't be surprised to see a review at least mention briefly. I did add the development information from that IGN interview I found, but couldn't find much else, as nice as it would be to expand this section further (I don't know if that would hold up assessment). I trimmed the censorship section to keep the quotes in the refs, as it seemed a bit redundant to include it twice and wasn't significantly adding to the article to have them listed in the prose itself. Also, you'll need to check the reference for the initial ESRB rating as it wasn't in the given reference (I've added a couple of tags for that section, one of which is next to the reference in question). Finally I wonder whether the reception section isn't a bit short and could do with some more information; perhaps splitting into either what was appreciated followed by what wasn't, or into sections by elements such as gameplay, audio etc. and then using quotes to explain the reception to each, but perhaps that's just a stylistic choice. SynergyBlades (talk) 16:57, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
- The ESRB rating by 1UP on both the separate referenced pages (announcement and review) is, like the release date and other title info, likely pulled from the same database location for the title and then displayed identically on every 1UP page related to the title. As such I'm not certain this proves its rating when first announced as it's likely just an error on the rating in the database entry for the title as a whole, so the wording of the section might want updating. SynergyBlades (talk) 04:41, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- Though I personally would appreciate better layout/tidy-up in the reception section (on reflection its scope/length is probably about right compared to the size of the rest of the article's sections), I'd say it's probably ready for listing at the nominations. SynergyBlades (talk) 01:43, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

- You could have a bash at Sonic Heroes. It's not the most interesting entry in the series, but I did some initial tidy and sourcing for that, as well as the Reception section, and I reckon the quantity of information available for the game will be similar to the Shadow article. The comment about multiplayer mode under reception seems lonely, can more be said about it from other sources? If they all state the same thing, then that sentence should reflect it. Since I'm not seeing any reference on Sonic Team there is also a issue in the lead. In the lead it mentions what happened to Sega Studio USA, but there's no source for this. « ₣M₣ » 21:18, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of So i herd u liek mudkipz
A tag has been placed on So i herd u liek mudkipz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Request to move article Nearly Lost You (song) incomplete
You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Nearly Lost You (song) to a different title - however your request is either incomplete or has been contested for being controversial, and has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete will be removed after five days.
Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:
- Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
- Added a place for discussion at the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved. This can easily be accomplished by adding {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the page, which will automatically create a discussion section there.
- Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.
If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 05:16, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry I didn't get round to replying sooner. Admittedly I'm not well-versed in the subtle nuances that separate a Good Article from a Featured one, as editors more experienced than me tend to find things that I don't notice. I do like the rewrite of the Reception section, as I prefer to see an ordered breakdown of the criticisms levelled at a game, which it now does really well. I'd also suggest just watching out for the use of semi-colons as a few I've seen (and edited) are a bit awry; for instance, using one to break up a sentence then using "and" directly after doesn't really work, grammatically (the "and" acts as a conjunction to connect the two parts of the sentence, but the semi-colon just before it breaks it up, e.g). Good luck with the nomination, and let me know how it goes! SynergyBlades (talk) 00:30, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Is a diagram really necessary where prose will suffice? It might be a little tricky to describe but does it really need in-depth detail? SynergyBlades (talk) 14:27, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Shadow images
The problem is that both the image description page and caption of File:ShadowTheHedgehogMultiplayer.JPG don't really meet NFCC. we need non-free images to significantly add to the article, and be the subject of critical commentary. For example, File:Uru screenshot.png illustrates not only the environments of the game which were praised, but the custom avatars and third-person view of the series--also covered by reviews (especially the clunky third-person control). Another example: File:St6-excelsior and shock wave.png illustrates the appearance of the ship, but more importantly the appearance of a massive wave, to which a full paragraph is devoted explicitly to. The wave itself became important (as the praxis effect) and describing its intended scale and appearance and how it was manipulated arguably does suffer without the reference. The image also shows a model which was filmed with a unique and at the time cutting edge method of seperate light passes to result in a crisp edge in postproduction. I could go on, but you get the idea. For Sonic, think about the content of what you've written. For example, there is nothing in gameplay about the homing attack--but it's mentioned in detail in reception. Why not beef up gameplay and switch with an image showing the attack? For similar issues at FAC, read through the stuff for Star Wars: Rogue Squadron which deals with image reduction and prioritizing elements, nfcc issues and such. It should prove enlightening. cheers, Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 15:31, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
- it's a free image, I very much doubt someone is going to oppose an FAC for it, but I believe that by adding space between the boxes it will be much easier to decipher. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 13:44, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Just make it explicitly clear in the caption and fair use rationales. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 21:58, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Shadow the Hedgehog (video game) copyedit
I've seen you around, actually (I have a very large watchlist), and I'd be happy to copyedit. I'm in the process of finishing up another request, though, and I tend to space out the copyediting over a few days (for a medium-sized article, such as the one requested) in order to avoid brain lockup from staring at the same text for an extended time as I tweak the wording. I'll try to get to it in a week or so. — TKD::{talk} 03:02, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Just a note for you that I've started on the copyedit and will probably be working on it over the next few days. In the course of looking over the article, I rewrote the lead section for what I thought was better flow; you might want to check whether the revision suits your taste. Also, I left a hidden query (in SGML comments,
<!-- like this -->
) in the "Gameplay" section regarding the "Chaos Powers"; the section doesn't explain how the gauges are filled, so that will confuse those unfamiliar with the game (like me). Are the gauges filled by collecting something? By holding a button down? By simple passage of time? — TKD::{talk} 12:40, 4 May 2009 (UTC)- Well, either the questionable sources need to be shown reliable (possibly through reliable sources that cite them or present them as authoritative, or through the backing of a reliable media company) or another source needs to be found. - Urgh. I can't find anything reliable, at least in English. If you want something that validates the existence of the soundtrack, you could try this (Google-translated from Japanese to English, though find someone who can read the language if you're going to use it) on Famitsu's website. I don't think that the link verifies the release date, although Google's translator, like all free computer translators, is very rough at best. I suppose that someone who can read Japanese could also try to find a mention either on Apex Trax's Japanese website or in another reliable Japanese news source. I think that you could source the track list to the CD itself. That leaves the A2 interview, which was conducted by a questionable source, though I don't think that it's critical to include that content. The important point is to verify the soundtrack itself. — TKD::{talk} 00:49, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- The gist was to be careful with foreign-language sources, though this particular case should be straightforward enough. :) — TKD::{talk} 13:07, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Never cite a machine-translated source, because it almost certainly contains errors somewhere in the text, even if the general meaning can be gleaned (I linked to the Google translation mostly out of my own convenience, because the only Japanese characters that I recognize are 一, 二, 三, and 四). If a translation by a reliable source were to exist, we could use that. If it doesn't, as in this case, then cite the original and note in the citation (using the
language=
parameter for cite templates) that it's in Japanese. — TKD::{talk} 13:30, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

- First pass is done. I have some SGML comments and concerns for you to look at (mostly dealing with a few unclear things). — TKD::{talk} 00:45, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- As long as the opinions in the cited articles aren't nuanced enough to require original interpretation to synthesize, I personally don't have fundamental problems with "thought similarly" (except for the fact that it was repeated a few times; I swapped "agreed" in one instance), although I could see a rationale for further explaining "thought similarly in what way?" You might wish to substantiate it with more quotations and paraphrasing. — TKD::{talk} 17:50, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

. GUN and ARK were introduced without being explained, and "G.U.N." and "GUN" were both used in the article (which one is correct?). — TKD::{talk} 19:31, 10 May 2009 (UTC)- Yes, looks good to me. —TKD [talk][c] 23:53, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- One thing I just noticed: "The final version retained most of the original profanity" is referenced to footnote 21, which is a single item of dialogue. Did you mean to use something else to back that generalization? —TKD [talk][c] 23:59, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- Is there a source that "most" of the original profanity was "retained"? If not, should we change it to something like "some profanity is present" and source it to the Gaming Age review? —TKD [talk][c] 00:17, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- Saw the diff. Looks good. —TKD [talk][c] 00:23, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- I'm looking over concerns in the previous FAC. Gaming Age you could defend by showing news articles from reliable sources that cite it; there are a few in Google News' archive, such as [2], [3]. As for copyediting, we've taken care of that, hopefully. The last remaining thing is sourcing. You've got some print reviews now, but it might be good to try to track down the Famitsu and/or Nintendo Power reviews and at least consult them. That's the only thing that I see objections for. —TKD [talk][c] 00:48, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- The links are good for answering the question, "What makes this a reliable source?" The fact that other reliable sources cite it helps. As for the other reviews, yoyu could check WP:VG/M to see whether any WPVG member is listed as having the magazines in question, or you could ask at WT:VG. —TKD [talk][c] 02:11, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Planescape: Torment
Hi! Since you helped peer review the article back in March, I thought I'd mention that Planescape: Torment is now a featured article candidate. All comments would be much appreciated. Thanks! –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 13:50, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Re:Nintendo Power
Hello Tezkag72. Eh, Issue 195 (Sep. '05) is the Hog Heaven one (Issue 194 (Aug. '05) has Mario Kart DS on the cover). Anyway, neither one of those has the Shadow the Hedgehog review; that's in Issue 199 (Jan. 2006), which I have. I'm happy to provide you a scan of the page with the review and all the other information you'd need for a reference, but I'm a bit confused; why do you need this information if you already own those issues? -sesuPRIME talk • contribs 14:10, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- You don't have August 2005? Well, you added your name to that issue at Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Magazines/Nintendo Power... -sesuPRIME talk • contribs 22:12, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
