Could you check something for me?
The 2004 Hindi film Hatya: The Murder is up for deletion. I did find a lengthy review [1] that made me feel that there is more out there, but my translation skills are lacking. At the AFD, User:Fabrictramp asked about the review, as its gramer and format are somewhat different from what one might expectfrom a reviewer in the States. Could you take a look and let me know if it is what what might expect for such films? Thanks, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 03:05, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking in. Would my suggesting a redirect and partial merge of some of the content to Akshay Kumar make sense? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 07:24, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yes i was thinking along the same lines. A redirect and a partial merge would be perfect.--Sodabottle (talk) 07:25, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
- Decent option. Makes sense and if more information ever comes forward, it might be recreated. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q.`

And another:
Bhairav(2001 film). My thought is that a film directed by the rather prolific T L V Prasad should have more sources than I am able to find... specially with stars Mithun Chakraborty, Indrani Haldar, and Hemant Birje. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 11:34, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

How to Add Photos from Blogs?
Hi..if i Have permission from the blog owners to use the images how to use them in wikipedia?ERICTHEKING (talk) 04:48, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
- 1) First make sure that the blog owner is one who owns the copyright for the image (In India, people sometimes believe everything found on internet is free and claim that the copyright is their). So have to make sure if it is a photo they took or it is from a family album.
- 2) After that get them to send a mail to you, that they are willing to release the image under Creative Commons license 3.0 (CC-BY-SA 3.0). Just a couple of lines to your email id, stating that they are willing to release X image via CC-BY-SA 3.0 is enough. Also explain to them that under this licence they still own the copyright and have to be attributed whenever the image is reused.
- 3) Use the Toolbox > Upload File link from the left panel. In the description column, attach the mail (with your personal ID/details redacted) and choose the CC-BY-SA 3.0 option. Upload the picture. Once done, let me know and i will review it for you.--Sodabottle (talk) 05:42, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Adding Fotos From Relatives of The Personalities
I happened to meet a Personality's Grand Daughter. How to Publish the Photos of her grand dad She had. And add the details of the personality? I guess Wikipedia doesn't allow Words even from Horse mouth!!! How to add citations in that case?ERICTHEKING (talk) 03:38, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
- wikipedia especially doesn't allow words from the horses' mouth. As with any encyclopedia, we are not publishers of original research and are certainly not the source of primary information. We are just a collection of data from secondary and tertiary sources. But if the same details have been published earlier in books or newspapers its fine. Regarding the photos - see my reply to your question for uploading from blogs. Get an email permission from the relative add it to the description field and forward it to OTRS (i will provide the email address) and upload the pic. Or even better you can upload to Wikimedia Commons (which is a central repositary for media files for all wikimedia projects) using the same procedure.--Sodabottle (talk) 04:13, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Non-free images
You have uploaded a dozen non-free images with fake licences. Remove them immediately.O0I1E3S5 (talk) 12:54, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thats a sweeping accusation. Care to point out where exactly i have violated copyright?--Sodabottle (talk) 12:56, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- You have tagged the images as Non-free historic image. But you have added camera specs. It means you took a snapshot of the image from a book recently. So it is not quite historic. Then you should use screenshot tag instead. O0I1E3S5 (talk) 13:07, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- For example see this.O0I1E3S5 (talk) 13:10, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- "Copyrighted This image is a faithful digitisation of a unique historic image". Scanning/or photographing comes under digitisation. The screenshot tag is for game/web/film/music video/tv/software". There is no specific fair use tag for book images. The {{Non-free historic image}} covers everything. And it is a faithful digitisation of a unique historic image (whether you agree or not). Even if it was the case, what i did was mistagging not "fake licensing". and they should be retagged (if they are improperly tagged) not removed immediately.--Sodabottle (talk) 13:17, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- If you check the options available while uploading fair use images, you will find images of "deceased persons" also being covered under "historic images" tag. --Sodabottle (talk) 13:21, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

- Check out today's featured article John Lennon. (FA's are the highest quality wise in wikipedia). See how many references point to google books. In fact books.google.com ranks near the top of the references used in wikipedia articles. --Sodabottle (talk) 12:41, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- Check this out. There is no consensus yet. The biggest drawback of Google Books is they change links without warning and frequently. Also, limited and snippet views lose context.O0I1E3S5 (talk) 12:43, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Man we can use gbooks as source, infact we are encouraged to provide links to the books we use online. either be it archive.org or gbooks. Ekal Vidyalaya - reposting awaiting your response
It is a shame that you continue to publish with limited background, understanding, or care for education in India. I urge you to visit an Ekal school, and understand the organization prior to pasting. In the pasting that you continue to paste on the page, you slander the organization. No doubt, your slant continues to infiltrate the Indian landscape. As a true believe in primary education and education as a whole, I can assure you that you work is harmful. At the end of the day, you continue to do what you do, and though it be wrong, like the way the world works, your extremist views overwhelm those in the middle. So while you have incorrectly posted things like "hindu nationalism" and "hatred" and 'associated with the RSS and VHP,' your voice -- i.e. -- your understanding of the wiki environment is superior to that who run the organization. However, again, go and visit a school, speak to the children who currently receive funding and will no longer receive funding due to your slander. There are ample media material and studies that go for and against any side. And you have chosen a side, rather than make an accurate decision. And so youve pasted. And so, your 'hate' is appreciated. Please do your research prior to editing the article. 66.194.2.9 (talk) 21:09, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Peacewithyou —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.149.134.168 (talk)
Tamilnadu article.
Hello sodabottle,
I want to ask you about one change that I wish to do. In Tamil Nadu, on third para "Its official language Tamil has been in use in inscriptions and literature for over 3000 years." The reference for this is Tamil language. I need your approval so that on agreement of common interests their arises no differences of opinion and so. Share whatever you'd like to say, but stay on point and see it as neutral. I am here for NOT overpraise but, fill in important missing important facts that should reach people. Thanks.

Members of the executive council of the Governor of Madras
First of all, thanks for your support in the discussion :-). Template:Kanchipuram district has been saved. By the way, will it be possible for you to get the list of members who functioned in the Governor's executive council for the period 1857 to 1947 and their portfolios. I wish it would be great if the details could be added to the articles pertaining to each Governor. Probably, article on each Governor could have something similar to the "Cabinet" tables we created for Raja of Panagal and other Chief Ministers. A list of member of each Governor's executive council and the portfolio the member held would be great.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 12:25, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

However, many hits of - Naresh Sonee reflects on google search engine also. So, I request Wiki Indian community to kindly come forward and generously help these two pages to grow, as I am fed up to fight my case alone here [left] and moved out long back. regarding "Tamil language" article editing
I have searched a lot and got only 32 no. of universities worldwide, teaching Tamil. I think there will not be more universities. If the universities have Tamil department, definitely they will include in their website, which will be available in Google. Most of the universities has Indian language department, but does not teach Tamil. I have searched a lot and got only this much number of universities. Tamil language
I am finding disruptive edits by the user Mr Spaceman on the Tamil language article under "Geographic distribution". This is particular reference to Tamil spoken by small minorities in Gujarat and Manipur. Even though references have been provided the lines are deleted.
It appears "experts" are having a field day blocking anything they want without verifying the truth and appear they dont read the "discussion".
--தொழில்நுட்பம் (talk) 14:14, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Personal insults and sarcasm will get you nowhere. Did you read the discussion at all?. I had raised the question, what states we can add, because we cannot add every state that has tamil speaking minorities (because all states in india have tamil speaking minorities) And i provided a link to the list of tamil speakers in other states. You are fixated on gujarat and manipur and now insulting people who are trying to reason with you. --Sodabottle (talk) 14:28, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- And now you are edit warring logged out. Thats a sure way to get yourself blocked.--Sodabottle (talk) 14:30, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
What do you mean by "personal insults and sarcacism"? Manipur is a small state and yet has a good presence of Tamil culture. The cross border trade with Burma is controlled to a large extent. So is business Gujarat, where Tamils are in good proportion. You are using a comparison by whole population. Scientific? Have you visited the country Bangladesh? Yes the hidden secret is the forgotten Tamils there. There is a sizeable number and do some research (outside of the Internet) - I am sure you will do that. OK, I dont care if I am blocked. Wikipedia is supposed to hold the truth but obviously we have a stumbling block of too many "experts". The discussion forum had the links. You are free to block anyone because I suppose you are one of the owners of Wikipedia. It is your right and not mine. But that does not hide the truth. If you are insulted, excuse, but you are successful in blocking the truth. Congrats. --தொழில்நுட்பம் (talk) 16:32, 18 January 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by தொழில்நுட்பம் (talk • contribs)

This site is "not for profit" site. We are not earning anything by running this site. This site basically gives out information about the musical artists in Kerala. This site is for those who wants to know the details of a long lost song. This is the most comprehensive databasesite in any language in India. The owner of this site spends his own money each year to run this site. There are numerous dedicated music lovers who maintain this site during their free time. I'm just one of them.
I'm posting the relevant links to the WIKi pages so that 'more relevant' information about that artist is available. For e.g if you click on that link it gives you the details of collaboration with other artists, no of song for each year..etc etc....
Thats all I'm doing

- I understand MSI is a very good resource for Malayalam music. I will go through the links i removed and i will add them where relevant. But i do request you to not add the links in the future. The policy makes no difference between commercial and non-commercial sites, so if you add them someone else will eventually remove them. External links are a highly scrutinised and sensitive issue in Wikipedia, because SEO and advertising people repeatedly abuse them to drive traffic to their sites. Thus the extra strict guidelines.
- I will take a look at the articles i removed the links and will readd them at my discretion. Thanks for your patience.--Sodabottle (talk) 14:42, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Kamal Haasan
Did you even read the article??? It runs 3-4 pages - Heres the bits -- I read all the articles I referred and used them! //// Each set, each director’s working style, was different. There was the casual chaos and amiable anarchy of Pothen, the military discipline of Balachander, the unassuming, unobtrusive, presence of Singeetam. They all had one thing in common: Kamal, a dervish of creativity, bustling here, there, everywhere, involving himself (some would even say, interfering) in every aspect of filmmaking. He would suggest alternate ways of doing scenes. He would introduce props into the scene the set designer had not thought of. No actor, to my mind, uses props better. If there is a corner table, he will trip over it. If there is a low-hanging lamp, he will bump into it. If there is anything at all on a set that is not nailed down, he will find a way to use it. He would engage in animated discussions with everyone, from his fellow artistes to the lightboys, cinematographer, dance choreographer, director, whoever. Why, I once asked him. Why do you have this urge to get involved in everything, when your fellow actors (the honorable exceptions, to lesser or greater degree, being Malayalam stars Mammootty and Mohanlal) are content to give their shot and retire to their reserved chairs, waiting till they are called for the next shot? /// http://in.rediff.com/movies/2003/nov/08kamal1.htm

- Yes i read it. But is it enough to say he is involved in "every aspect"? we know he gets involved in a lot of things and the ref supports that. We can't use a superlative adjective ("every aspect"). At best we can use it as a quote from panicker thats it. I am trying to get rid of the npov/fan pov tag from the article and trust me, if such language is used, the tag wont go. It is an obviously well written and researched article and if we tone down the language to match wikipedia standards it will come out very well.--Sodabottle (talk) 04:24, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, I understand about the neutrality and tone. Would "several" aspects be fair. I am sure you know, he is involved in several apsects. Also, Regarding "Bankruptcy section" removal, I can give you a video interview of Kamal himself saying it, that was featured in Indian channel Star Plus but in youtube. Can you let me know if you can use this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmYSePwk3Q4
Imemadhu (talk) 04:49, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yes "several" is more apt than "many". The bankruptcy part runs foul of our WP:BLP policy. Basically we try to avoid putting in something very negative (even if the subject admits is publicly) if it is not directly related to his life/career etc. Probably the bankruptcies can be mentioned in a single line next to the one describing his activities as a producer (i assume his production work led to the bankruptcies? If they didnt we probably should be including them there, may be in the personal life section as a single line)--Sodabottle (talk) 04:57, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Just worked on Balachandar and Mani's comments on Kamal in my user-page. The "Famous quotes" section that was removed. Let me know if they are fine. To get the heck of what you actually want. Thanks!
Imemadhu (talk) 05:57, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
I have summarised them as prose. The direct quotes, should go in as footnotes in a shortened form. Now with a few more lines from his detractors (how he rips off stuff, attention hogging, credit mongering, "arrogance" etc), we can add this after "awards and honors" section. Regarding the "torch bearer" section - you can try a "film advocacy" section with his work on conducting screenwriting workshops etc--Sodabottle (talk) 06:21, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- I reworked on the entire piece. I will get the negative parts of Kamal too. Pls confirm if you are fine with the tone. Future negative comments could be added. SRK's quote, Madhavan and Panicker are huge and so apt. Dont wan't to use their names in a line for the heck of mentioning.
Imemadhu (talk) 07:09, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- If the quotes are not substantially different - but just praise in different ways (i wanted to touch him etc), it is no use adding them. It will again become a quote farm. "Huge" is a subjective term, what appears as huge to you, just appears like typical film industry backscratching to me (except for panicker's). If they dont add anything new about Kamal's work etc, it is better to keep them as mentions in the main article and add the quotation as a foot note. It is better to keep the entire section short and to the point.
- An encyclopaedic article is completely different from a news report - what appears as substantive in the later does not appear so in the former. "sheepishly admitted", "wanted to touch him", " if he had to wait for an actor, it had to be someone who " "once famously quoted" are outright anathema here. If this language gets in the article, rest assured "fan language" "pov" tag too will get in. --Sodabottle (talk) 07:24, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Dear Sodabottle,
Its not a single month data. Please check the reference again. Its from April to November (8 Months), its very much enough for rankings.
--Bijuts (talk) 14:46, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Query
Hi, I just read your message on Bijuts' talk page. You said: It's we avoid the "busiest airport" rankings for now and wait for more data. I just wanted to know if this is applicable to only BLR and MAA or these airports as well: COK, CCU, HYD? Thanks, Why so serious? Talk to me 14:50, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- I just changed my mind after Biju pointed out we have 8 month data (i didnt see it). I believe now we can reinstate the "busiest airport" sentences but with a clarification like. For the period of Apr-Nov 2010, XXXX airport is Yth busiest or something.--Sodabottle (talk) 14:55, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ok. But how exactly should it be mentioned? Is busiest ranking in overall traffic enough or do we have to include the busiest ranking in terms of international traffic too separately? Why so serious? Talk to me 15:01, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes my friend, you are right. But for the period of....it was the... not a gud idea. Whenever AAI statistics out we can change accordingly like census data. and about Intl and domestic seperation, CIAL is the only exceptional. So we can reinstate der only or as usual.
--Bijuts (talk) 15:21, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
And also 2007 and 2011 data. No changes in major rankings except 1st and 2nd (Mumbai and Delhi). So better to depend on AAI Data. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bijuts (talk • contribs) 15:24, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Just for continuity in the discussion, I'm placing this what you posted on Bijuts' talk page:
- I am drafting a sample sentence below:
For the period of Apr-Nov 2010, It was the xth busiest airport in terms of overall passenger traffic and yth busiest in terms of international passenger traffic
--Sodabottle (talk) 15:11, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- So can we have the list then?
- DEL: Overall: 1st, International: 1st
- BOM: Overall: 2nd, International: 2nd
- MAA: Overall: 3rd, International: 3rd
- BLR: Overall: 4th, International: 5th
- CCU: Overall: 5th, International: 7th
- HYD: Overall: 6th, International: 6th
- COK: Overall: 7th, International: 4th
- Correct me if I'm wrong. Why so serious? Talk to me 15:33, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- So can we have the list then?
- To Biju - For clarity's sake it is better we add the time period. Yesterday there was a confusion because a website compared data from two different time periods and arrived at the wrong conclusion. This sort of thing happens often in the Indian media. So if we make it very clear which source we are using and which time period, we avoid any future errors and possible edit wars. --Sodabottle (talk) 15:38, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- To Abhishek - The ranking is fine with me.--Sodabottle (talk) 15:38, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
So shall I go ahead and make the necessary changes? Why so serious? Talk to me 15:40, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes abhishek. i believe we have a rough consensus. Please add them--Sodabottle (talk) 15:42, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- I'm on it now. :):) Why so serious? Talk to me 15:44, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Dear Friend,
Abhishek is getting emotional now. His rankings are ok. Understand my exceptional meaning - Except CIAL all other major airports intl and domestic rankings almost same or near. Right? Dts y I suggest to retain it.
--Bijuts (talk) 15:55, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Biju, we have the issue settled roughly. Please let this drop. "almost same or near" is a subjective thing. For me the difference for CIAL between 4th and 7th isn't that much different for BIAL's 3rd and 5th. It is a trivial issue, that does not belong in the lead. If there is an indepth third party article, which discusses this difference specifically (i guess the difference is because of the direct gulf flights to cochin right?), use it to source this information within the article. Else it becomes WP:OR and undue to mention it.--Sodabottle (talk) 16:03, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- I've completed the same. Please check it and make any necessary changes. Why so serious? Talk to me 16:00, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Great work Abhishek. Will take a look. (I have archived oru discussion here to chennai airport talk pages for future reference.--Sodabottle (talk) 16:03, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Now the issue is solved. Abhishek's last edits are good ones. Happy editing. Ok. Then, I want to know more about the delta region, which was the most religious and rich cultural history region in South India?

Please don't vandalize
Hi dude please see the Indian Flag once, saffron ,green and blue are the only colours u will find, all the three are highlighted in both the templates.you know? congress has all these 3 colours in it's flag but u r pointing me as an BJPian which has only two, saffron and green???.Instead i did not include lotus in the template. Please do not consider it as an agenda or propoganada,i'm neutral.i do not mix my ideologies with my wiki.thank you -SunilShamnur talk —Preceding undated comment added 17:57, 24 January 2011 (UTC).
- Calling me a "vandal" is an insult. (i posted my rational in the talk page. A vandal is one who disrupts articles) A prominent Saffron/Green colour scheme is giving a BJP flag colour appearance. I will post this issue in the india notice board to get more inputs.--Sodabottle (talk) 18:02, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- I am extremely sorry,if u consider it as an insult.i did mean to hurt you, anyway i request please do not complicate the issue.cheers-SunilShamnur talk —Preceding undated comment added 18:07, 24 January 2011 (UTC).
- Its ok. Its midnight and i am too quick to take offense :-). I apologise too. I was too quick to judge it a BJP colour scheme without thinking clearly. I took another look and the horizontal bar is nowhere near a BJP scheme. But the vertical one is very striking because of the saffron background (slightly hurts my eyes). Can you rework the colour scheme a little bit, to make it less contrasting?--Sodabottle (talk) 18:15, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Trivia
Hey Sodabottle. I am trying to write a trivia about Kamal Haasan. There are several interesting things about him and his career. Pls check my user page and suggest changes for my work. Btw, whats ur real name? Chennaiite I am sure, Are you working for wiki, or jus a normal guy, too active here.!? Thanks! New to user-pages and admin interactions! Imemadhu (talk) 00:40, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ouch. Trivia sections are a strong no no here. Many of the things in the trivia section can be added to the career and personal life sections. But a stand alone section for Trivia wont be accepted. I will take a look later today and point out which can go where.
- And i prefer to remain pseudonymous here :-). And no i don't work for wiki - 99.99% of Wikipedia editors are volunteers (people with too much time in their hands :-)). I am not that active in en wiki these days. (past few days are an exception). The wikimedia foundation has like 50 employees, who are only involved in technical, fundraising issues. The rest of us all are volunteers here. And i am not an admin either (an admin in wikipedia is just another user level that comes with some more functions - they act as gatekeepers and janitors; nothing more). --Sodabottle (talk) 03:31, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- BTW, you are still using flowery language like "spread his wings" etc. We prefer a more subdued, non-metaphorical factual language here. So please curb your instincts while using such descriptors :-)--Sodabottle (talk) 06:28, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Joker (2011 film) is a recent article that began as a totaly unsourced stub, and it was not until it was sent to AFD that I even became aware of it. What I saw there was that the AFD template underscores a problem where a proffered Find sources proves to be absolutely useles,[3] contributing to a detrimental impression of unsourability. Not relying it it, I used a different set of search parameters and found that the topic has indeed been discussed in multiple reliable sources.[4] In using these, I began giving the article some attention... expanding the original unsourced stub and adding sources.[5] My question, as you are my guide in Indian Cinema, is this worthy of continued work? Or would Incubation be the better option? Thanks, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 22:34, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Anna
hi sodabottle. Please be aware on being very particular from your side, if you go on argue thats India-today opinion, thats THE HINDU's opinion, plz then for what purpose they do the work. Why those works are created. There is no end for this. Be correct here. But the same even I can argue, thats TIME opinion, thats washington herald's opinion. Try to see whats the matter than the subject it comes from. Plz tell me then what will you ever accept, if at all I find it.
Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 06:56, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- A fact has no sides, but a opinion certainly does. When you add a fact no one objects, when you call anna among top 100 indians, it is someone's opinion (in this case India today's). So you have to clearly state who is calling him that. Any subjective opinion has to be clarified as such. And to answer your question yes if it is a opinion of the hindu, or time or washington herald, it has to be mentioned as "the hindu calls Y as _____". The issue is not "what i accept", it is that you still don't get what to add in wikipedia (or you are deliberately ignoring it). Why else do you think everyone who deals with you keep reverting your contributions. The problem is in on your side, not with the "rest of wikipedia". Keep this up and you will one day end up at ANI and an indef block.-Sodabottle (talk) 07:05, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Somehow this set of edits reminds me of this person. Am I just imagining things? -- Hoary (talk) 13:49, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
- I am not sure. Anwar/Shinas usually leaves edit summaries, fills up his user page to make it a blue link within the first ten or so edits, gets autoconfirmed by making minor edits to random pages and also uses the talk page once reverted. Since this account was created well before his block in December and the user page is a redlink, i dont think this is Anwar/Shinas. I will keep an eye on the contributions to see if any familiar patterns popup.--Sodabottle (talk) 14:07, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

- Bhopal – Bilaspur Express
- Bhopal – Jabalpur Intercity Express
- Indore – Ajmer Express
Thanks, —Abhishek Talk to me 18:11, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- I haven't take a look at these (will do it tomorrow. sunday midnight here :-)). But as a general rule, i have seen a lot of previous AfDs of named trains always being closed as keep. The argument went like, if it is something more than a train time table slot (i.e has a name etc) it is notable.--Sodabottle (talk) 18:32, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- Ok. But the Bhopal Jan Shatabdi article was similar to the Indore – Ajmer Express article, but it was proded and deleted. I can't understand why AfD's on named trains are closed as keep, when they seen quite non notable. As such apart from what is present in the above article, I do not think that they can be expanded further. —Abhishek Talk to me 01:13, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Why you are so scared to put the truth? Please don`t vandalize under some pretext or other, okay! You can see yourself various headings of other faiths, particularly the majority faith headings, and judge yourself how neutrality and neutral interest is followed there, including your own favourite topic `Irreligion in India`! Wikipedians are not wicked people, understand this basic principle. Please refrain from unwanted vandalism. - If you are talking about my edits in Christianity in Tamil Nadu, i have given you enough explanation, how wikipedia works and what are the rules here. What i am doing is not vandalism, just read WP:NPOV. You can't call people "infidels" here. (you call people "infidels" and then talk about showing respect for geninue feelings/opinions of others?). And to term my edits as "vandalism" is certainly an insult. The fact that you still dont get what you are doing wrong and me being an atheist has nothing to do with it, indicates you will never be able to edit neutrally here. You have removed my addition of a sentence from this page. I have added "Between 1540-56, the Afghan king Sher Shah Suri and Hindu king 'Hem Chandra Vikramaditya', popularly called Hemu, ruled North India". The sentence is reverted saying that this information is un-necessary. This surprises me, because impression is that after 1192, when Prithvi Raj Chauhan was defeated up to 1857 Foreign invaders ruled India. This is not true as my sentence shows that natives had their stints also. so please consider this point judiciously and put this one sentence on the page.

List of silent films from South India
It seems this page contains details only about the silent Tamil films. So can we move this page to List of silent films from Tamil cinema or a similar specific title? -- Arfaz (talk) 11:50, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- I thought about this when i created the article. Till 1932 the distinction between Tamil and telugu films was non existent. (probably because the Madras of that day had a large proportion of Telugu speakers). Even the first tamil talkie Kalidas (film) , called itself a "Tamil and Telugu" talkie. Theodore Baskaran (from whose book i have reproduced the list) calls them "south indian silent films" (Tamil: தென்னிந்தியாவில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட மெளனப்படங்கள்). And some of the films in this list have only english titles. While they were screened, theatres hired a local language speaker to give running commentary in that particular language to explain the story in the theatre!. I was stumped how to separate the films by language :-) and used a generic "south indian" title. I have no strong objection to moving the article to "List of silent Tamil films" but i am hesitant because we will be making a judgment which the source himself isn't making.--Sodabottle (talk) 12:23, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Then there are a few Malayalam and Kannada films that are to be added to this list. Better we can introduce a column to write the original language. In case of Kalidas (film) or any similar films, I think both the languages can be included. -- Arfaz (talk) 19:42, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
In Malayalam, there are two silent films: Vigathakumaran (1928) and Marthanda Varma (1933). You can get more information from this list. About Kannada movies, most sources say the first Kannada film Sati Sulochana itself was a talkie. The same thing was listed in this wiki article also. -- Arfaz (talk) 20:12, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

(I am creating a list of them to get at, but with his IP still free to remove prod and speedy tagging, i will wait till the range gets blocked)--Sodabottle (talk) 05:25, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- I hadn't noticed the no of socks! One thing that needs checking is all these Tiruppur/Namakkal/Karur towns and villages to see if they have been included in Erode metro, basically he's covered those three districts in his metro. Also, reg the Erode municipal corp, all the info he's added everywhere contradicts their website. —SpacemanSpiff 07:06, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- have started on that. I am basically verifying a)if the third grade municipalities are indeed third grade municipalities (so far no hoaxes there) b) and the towns/railwaystations/articles he has added the "erode" tag to are really related to erode (some are and most aren't). I am marking them offline for now. will make the corrections in bulk.--Sodabottle (talk) 07:27, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
