We also hope for the participation of our friends from the Free Culture movement and from educational and cultural institutions interested in developing free knowledge projects.

- Actually no, her middle name wasn't "Renee". "née" is used to delineate what the wife's last name/birth-name was before she gets married. Take a look at the following references:

February events and meetups in DC
Greetings from Wikimedia DC!
February is shaping up to be a record-breaking month for us, with nine scheduled edit-a-thons and several other events:
- On Friday, February 12, NPR will host a Black History Month First Edit event.
- On Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14, we're working with the Wiki Education Foundation to hold a series of four edit-a-thons at the AAAS 2016 Annual Meeting.
- On Tuesday, February 16, we're holding the Smithsonian American Art Museum and American University WikiWorkshop with Professor Andrew Lih's class.
- On Saturday, February 20, the Smithsonian American Art Museum will host the African American Artists Edit-a-Thon.
- On Friday, February 26, Howard University will host its second annual Black History Month Edit-a-Thon.
- On Saturday, February 27, we have three different events. In the morning, we're holding an Accessibility Edit-a-Thon at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. In the afternoon, we'll host our second February WikiSalon at Cove Dupont Circle, followed by our monthly dinner meetup at Vapiano.
We hope to see you at one—or all—of these events!

- If you wish to change what you wrote above, just strike through the parts you don't feel are applicable any more. That way, you preserve the sense of the post and its subsequent responses while also showing your thoughts have changed. You use the code <s> at the beginning of what you want to strike and then put </s> at the end. If I were you I would add another message below this one, saying that your thoughts have changed with whatever the appropriate explanation is and that is why you have struck through your comments. I would ask that you not delete your original post or alter it to change its meaning, because then the responses and their timeline gets mangled. Looking for something to do in DC in March? We have a series of great events planned for the month:
- On Wednesday, March 9, we'll host our first March WikiSalon at Cove Dupont Circle.
- On Friday, March 11, the National Archives will host the Women in the Civil War Edit-a-Thon.
- On Saturday, March 19, the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian will host the Color History with the Smithsonian! event, and we'll hold our second Accessibility Edit-a-Thon at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.
- On Sunday, March 20, the American Chemical Society will host the Computers in Chemistry Edit-a-Thon.
- On Saturday, March 26, we'll host our second March WikiSalon at Cove Dupont Circle, followed by our monthly dinner meetup at Vapiano.

The Guggenheim aims to further the goals of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, and build on the model of campaigns like the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Women in Architecture, Wikipedia Asian Month, and Art+Feminism. New and experienced editors are welcome. I nominate Shearonink to be Editor of the Week for his hard work on Wikipedia. Shearonink has been around a long time (20K edits, 36% to articles) and talks a lot of sense, but hasn't had much recognition of those facts. He used to live in at the IRC help channel, helping out those who needed it and that used to be a lot of people (I don't really go in there any more, so I can't talk for more recent events). Ever since his friends have started leaving, he seems to have slightly disappeared. I wanted him to know that it's not just his friends who appreciate who he is! It is all of Wikipedia.

Expanding coverage of Jewish women on Wikipedia makes these women and their creations discoverable, addresses the gender bias on Wikipedia in a positive way, and works to correct imbalances archival collecting practice and institutional projects that have historically silenced women's narratives. Achom editor
I saw that too. I was asked if I could change the conviction to read "In 2000, prior to his involvement in the investment sector Achom and several others fell foul of the UK’s department of trade and industry and a conviction was secured against him and four other defendants at Southwark crown court in 2000. Subsequently, he was disqualified from holding UK directorships for eleven years."
Sound familiar? I turned that gig down as it was totally against guidelines, looks like someone took it though. I posted on his talk page a few days ago, saw he edited afterwards, so when I get home tonight I will have to go to COIN when I can post from my laptop and not my phone. - The notice could have been placed after I was done - I should be out of the page in maybe 10 minutes. I have no issues with it being placed on the article, but I do have an issue with it being placed on the article in the middle of an overhaul/editing process. - Oh that's sad. I couldn't find any references or news about it when it first appeared in the article and did a couple of different searches (you know...name death, name obituary and so on). Surprised the news hadn't appeared in Variety/Billboard/Hollywood Reporter/LA Times yet... I mean, if it was I sure couldn't find it at the time. When the IP added it to her article they didn't provide a reference. Sad to hear it's true, Miss Nixon was a great talent and, from everything I've heard, a wonderful person and great mentor. - Yes, it took a while to be sourceable. I just stumbled upon it actually. The name rang a a bell and, as is my habit, checked for a WP page about her. The source was already there actually, added[1] by 194.69.14.78 (talk · contribs), but not 'cited'. So I just added some appropriate text, cited properly, and so it goes. I once found a professor who had been dead for months, but apparently no one on WP noticed. I even emailed his University(?) to check that he was the person who died, source was a bit ambiguous - 220 of Borg 15:21, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
Hi, Shearonink. the Marni Nixon article does not use the citation templates. Instead it uses manual formatting, which I find preferable because it dispenses with the unnecessary coding. When someone added the ref you mentioned with the template formatting, I converted it to manual formatting per WP:CITEVAR, which says: "Editors should not attempt to change an article's established citation style ... without first seeking consensus for the change. ... If the article you are editing is already using a particular citation style, you should follow it. ... [A]void ... adding citation templates to an article that already uses a consistent system without templates". -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:25, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
- I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, I'm just not used to seeing cite templates being converted to manual. Citation templates are useful in that everything is laid-out and clearly-labeled. WP:CITEVAR does state "... if all or most of the citations in an article...fail to provide needed bibliographic data – such as the name of the source, the title of the article or web page consulted, the author (if known), the publication date (if known), and the page numbers (where relevant) – ... and can be changed freely to insert such data." The event will cap off Wikipedia Asian Month, an online campaign dedicated to augmenting Asian content on Wikipedia throughout November. New and experienced editors are welcome. The event will include a training session for participants who are new to Wikipedia, and Wikipedia specialists will be on hand to provide basic instruction and editing support. Editors are invited to view the exhibition Tales of Our Time following the event. The Guggenheim aims to raise awareness of the artists featured in the Tales of Our Time exhibition supported by The Robert H. N. Question about an old CSD
I was looking over some of my edits and logs and came across User:Nicole Haddad/sandbox. I had nom'ed this as a CSD/G2 since the User does not exist but you removed the CSD Template and then created the User account with this template: [2]. But, the User still does not exist, this "User sandbox" was created by User:Tysmooth... Was wondering if you could tell me why the CSD was removed/declined. U2 is only for when the user doesn't exist, i.e. nobody's ever registered that precise name as an account. My edit summary is copied from the logs (see Special:Log/Nicole_Haddad), which show that such an account had been registered seventeen minutes before the page was created. I wasn't the one who created it; you can tell that it was registered by someone new because if it had been created by someone with an account, it would have said "[username 1] created account Nicole Haddad". So basically, the criterion doesn't apply because the user existed. Nyttend (talk) 04:44, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
- Nyttend: OK...that makes some sense. I had been looking at who actually created the page, the page's edit history (User:Tysmooth at 18:35 on the same day User: Nicole Haddad was created). I did notice that there is similar content within the editing history of User:Tysmooth and quite a few apparent throwaway accounts - all probably created by the fairly-young editor.
- So. Even though User: Nicole Haddad has never made an edit, this is their sandbox? Does this draft-table/"sandbox" get to exist for perpetuity or is there any category that would appropriately allow this content to be deleted? Thank you for your comment on the Pontius Pilate's wife GAR. I had completely forgotten about it until I checked it just now for another reason. I thought it had been closed months ago, and was surprised to see someone commented on as late as Dec29.
Anyway, regarding your comment that it could be renamed to "cultural depictions of Pontius Pilate's wife", I agree that while the current article is grossly unbalanced, I think renaming it would be a bad idea. She is a saint in several Christian traditions (not the ones that produced the literary works emphasized in our article currently, mind you) and she is emphasized in several (non-canonical) early Christian works.
The fact that she's only mentioned in one sentence of the NT isn't really relevant, since plenty of first-century figures important in later Christianity (and figures who probably were important in first-century Christianity) are barely mentioned or not mentioned at all in the NT. Thecla, for example, is not mentioned anywhere in the NT, but she was the protagonist of another work of early Christian literature that was very popular among early (proto-orthodox) Christians and probably predated some of the later NT texts (like 2 Peter).

Walt Disney World Railroad good article status

I got rid of the "In service" column. This is actually a good long-term change, as it will decrease the urge by amateur editors to constantly update this criteria whenever they hear new rumors from blogs and forums on which locomotives are working and not working (it's almost impossible to get up-to-date info like this from formal publications and Disney pretty much never gives out these kinds of details). I increased the notes column width from 20% to 25%, as well. Also, the reason why there are no notes for the No. 1 locomotive is because I did not come across anything of note about it specifically while doing my research. I did one other change to the table: I combined the "Builder" and "Builder number" columns into one column. It's mentioned more than once in the article that all of the WDWRR's locomotives were built by Baldwin Locomotive Works anyway. Jackdude101 (Talk) 03:16, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

"These two locomotives were built side by side in 1925 by Baldwin Locomotive works for Ferrocarriles Unidos de Yucatan.They worked side by side in Mexico for 40 years, and today they still run on the same tracks together."
