Re: Kakashi GA

I've been putting off rewriting it until I (or someone else) found more conception-related information. The Naruto art book, a great source of information for Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, is relatively mum on Kakashi, likely because his costume is rather generic in terms of the series. I don't think the section could muster more than one, maybe two healthy-sized paragraphs, and that's only if you were to keep the bit on the meaning of his name. Would that suffice for a GA run? ~SnapperTo 04:48, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Okey doke. I'll get that done by weekend's end. ~SnapperTo 20:29, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Things

I left you a reply back at Talk:Naruto. BTW, I found something on Naruto's creation and some trivia for Kakashi here in case you're interested. I couldn't find the page where Kishimoto talks about Kakashi's early name(s), maybe you can help? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 16:50, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Impressive eyes you have. Naruto, to me, looks like a great candidate for GAC but yes it does seem to lack conceptual data. If this is the case, then Sailor Moon and Bleach should be delisted right? As for Yamucha's page, SSJ 5, including myself and others worked pretty hard on it and we had no idea those sources were unreliable. Thoughts? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 19:47, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Could you answer to my first question? I'm not sure if you understood it, or maybe I didn't. And if you'd like, see my comment at the bottom of Talk:Bleach (manga). Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:06, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
I now see what you mean. My first question was about the creation info. for Kakashi's name; I read somewhere in Naruto that the author had a hard time choosing between "Kuwa", "Buton", "Enoki", "Kakashi" and a bunch of other names. What volume/chapter was that in? It'd be great to add to Kakashi Hatake. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:30, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Problems re: Naruto Uzumaki page, SnapperTo/Snapper2

There is a discussion in the Naruto Uzumaki page regarding the differences in the Rasengan and the Rasenshuriken. As of yet, SnapperTo/2 has not been able to respond to any of the positions I have put forward, but I found the cause of the massively changed Abilities section tonight, which was hidden under a separate listing than Abilities. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but he specifically changed the information to his specific point of view without discussion or notification. This kind of guerrilla tactic seems to be more for the satisfaction of his own opinion than the benefit of the page. I sincerely believe my side of this, and have expressed it. Again, he has not been able to refute my side, but still makes efforts to underhandedly change the information under the guise of "eliminating verbosity". Can something be done about this? I ask because I am not always able to monitor my edits on a regular basis and things like this end up happening. Thanks. DestradoZero 10:55, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Copyediting

Hi Sephiroth BCR, Much as I would like to say "yes" to copyediting Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, I'm buried in projects, and I can't keep up. As you can see from the pile at LoCE, we seem to have more requests than editors. In addition, I have projects related to writing and housekeeping. I don't know what to suggest other than waiting for an editor to volunteer or continuing your search for one who has not yet volunteered. My best. Finetooth (talk) 17:25, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey Sephiroth, I noticed that Nintendo Power listed Aria of Sorrow as the 22nd best Nintendo Game of all time in their top 200 list. I would add it myself, but not sure what issue it came from, anyway, I just wanted to let you know if you wanted to add it to the article. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 02:17, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

RFA thanks

Naruto is an avatar?

Someone placed Naruto Uzumaki within the avatar category leaving no explanation in their edit summary. So, without a reliable source, I don't think Naruto should be classified as one but there could be something I'm missing. Could you reply below? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 06:24, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Do you mind if I let someone else fail the article so they can leave some notes on talk? Perhaps you can also answer the question above? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 16:24, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't get why you're intent on wanting me to withdraw. I think that's a bad idea, and I have good reasoning. What's wrong man? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:29, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
I can't figure out why you can't do it. Really, why me? I'm thinking it's just because I'm the nom. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:41, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Uncivil? You? Sephiroth, you're one of the most civil users I've met. I insist that you fail it, really. To be honest, I don't want to bother with that ATM. Should we file a request on WP:AN/I or something? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:52, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
BIG WHOOPS! I really meant to say "civil", not "uncivil". I have changed the top comment to reflect a different message; it's just that you're driving me crazy with that "You have new message(s)..." and I was trying to respond fast. Can we just end the conversation now? Please just fail it, or leave it to me to nail it, but I can't do it now. Now's a bad time, seriously. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 02:10, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Table layout

To be honest, the last thing I want is conflict. But I strongly believe the new layout is not reader friendly, and the old layout makes the content much easier to read. The old layout had been in place for months and is also used by many articles. Obviously, when it is clear there is a strong consensus between a mass majority of which layout is most appropriate, then that is the layout we should go with, but until then I think it is only fair to keep the established format in place, that has faced no criticism in the past. All comments are welcome on my talk page if you wish to discuss the matter further, thanks.Edito*Magica (talk) 01:45, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm a bit confused because you have left a rather unpleasant message on my talk page claiming I am unwilling to discus and have ignored you. This is not true because the above is what I sent to your requested reply.Edito*Magica (talk) 22:01, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for lending a hand there with helpful advice. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:57, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Just to let you know this edit is considered an unacceptable sysop action as you aren't supposed to revert any part of the article if you intend to protected it as you would be in violation of the Protection Policy and it might be considered as an abuse of sysop tools. nat.utoronto 04:20, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

It's a shame isn’t it? I created the above mentioned page and moments after creating tables, they get reverted and blocked. Obviously I planned to add a synopsis for each episode, but I’m afraid that is no longer possible.Edito*Magica (talk) 22:10, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

User:Swampcroc

Howdy, I got a message from User talk:Swampcroc about an article I nom'd for speedy 2 months ago Tom tom gang on a CSD:A3. I remember that I didn't think it was a real article at the time, but besides that, I remember nothing else (I think I've done 4000 some edits since then), could you check the deleted page to make sure I made the right call, so I can give the user at User_talk:MBisanz#My_tom_tom_page a definitive answer? MBisanz talk 17:03, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

I've looked at the deleted article and all I see is either an advertisement or some instructions on how to play a game. I would personally redelete it as it would fail several criteria required for notability, and there are no third party sources. Cheers, nat.utoronto 19:01, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Blinx 2

I feel there should be more about the Tom Tom Gang in the blinx 2 page but last time I added more it was deleted. The Tom Toms play a major roll because in half the game you play as one. Swampcroc (talk) 21:55, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Alucard

If he passes GA, I would help address any issues if you want to nominate him for Featured Status, as I think he would probably pass with little difficulty. Your excellent Soma Cruz could also try a FAC one of these days too, great work overall. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 17:33, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Since the topic is already open here, Sephiroth, I've realized that there is a tiny possibility for a hatnote at Alucard. We could do this:
{{Redirect|Arukado|the [[Hellsing]] character|Ākādo}}
Then again, I doubt that someone who types "Arukado" or similar would expect to be brought to one of the fictional Alucards (the Hellsing one is never called "Arukado" as such). Maybe do some redirect changes or what? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:39, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Reverting my undo - questions.

I can see what you are saying regarding the fact that it has only been used once, but this move is obviously a key move in that it is something that even the Fourth Hokage couldn't do, and has serious dangers for Naruto if used again. This information is critical to the move itself, and the move is not a throwaway. Your (and Snapper2's) argument could have been made at one point for the Rasengan to be limited in the same way, despite the obvious importance of the move. However, as we know, this is indeed a key jutsu of Naruto's. The same goes for the Rasenshuriken.

Re:

I asked you a question here and hoped you could answer it. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 05:43, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Funny, thought you saw my last question at Talk:Alucard (Castlevania). Did you mean to answer later? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 02:40, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Re: Bleach Character Cleanup

Thanks for letting me know. As of right now, all hands are tied, but nevertheless, I thought I would put in my two cents... and now I am in debt two cents, ROFL. Sasuke9031 (talk) 04:46, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Re: Bleach character cleanup (Ynhockey)

Sorry, but I don't think I want to be part of this. The entire concept of merging and deletion of minor characters is flawed, and was created by certain users who have no idea what Wikipedia is all about or how it has worked over the years, and further ignore Wikipedia's most important criterion for inclusion - verifiability (Wales has stated that verifiability and not notability should be the main criterion).

Thanks for bringing the discussion to my attention, as it has reinforced my desire to disengage from Bleach-related articles on Wikipedia and focus more on real-life articles (some of my better articles). I will now remove most if not all of the Bleach-related pages from my watchlist, as now my edits are no longer needed to keep the very integrity of these articles.

Cheers, Ynhockey (Talk) 11:06, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Do you think it meets all aspects of featured article criteria? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 15:23, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Admin Coaching Re-confirmation

Hello, previously you expressed interest in participating in the Wikipedia:Admin coaching project. We are currently conducting a reconfirmation drive to give coaches the opportunity to update their information and capacity to participate in the project. Please visit Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Status to update your status. Also, please remember to update your capacity (5th table variable) in the form of a fraction (eg. 2/3 means you are currently coaching 2 students, and could accept 1 more student). Thank you. MBisanz talk 09:11, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Jiraiya

Hello Sephiroth. Do you think information like this [1] may help with the reception of Jiraiya (Naruto). About merchandising I only found t-shirts and key chains. I will try to get more. Regards.Tintor2(Talk) 20:22, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

I found some DVD reviews with some reception, maybe there is no about Jiraiya but there is about Orochimaru and Gaara. [2]:This one is from episodes 26-39, [3] about 40-52, and this [4] until 65. Well, I hope it helps.Tintor2(Talk) 08:53, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Admin coaching

Hi, it looks like we've been paired up together for admin coaching. The message I received says that I should explain why I want to be an admin, so I'll do that. I want to be an admin on Wikipedia so I can help out with vandalism (I do this by submitting CSDs, AFDs, and vandals to WP:AIV). I typically hang out among uncategorized articles to correctly categorize them (I've added categories to more than 5,000 uncategorized articles), and more recently, I've been spending time among recent edits/new pages and in the Economics and Computer Science projects, improving articles and submitting them as Featured Articles. Gary King (talk) 08:28, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply! I did mention that I was interested in vandal fighting, which I have been spending a lot of time on recently, but I have also begun to be much more interested in actual content-building. Generally speaking, my interests on Wikipedia have been as follows, when listed chronologically:
  1. Adding categories to articles with no category (I did this because it was easiest to do when I was still new to Wikipedia but wanted to contribute)
  2. Fight vandalism by browsing through Recent Changes/New Pages and random articles.
  3. Improve articles to Featured Article status. I've recently begun to be very interested in actual content building, because I haven't spent as much time here as I'd like to. I did used to contribute information here and there, but I never dedicated myself to a handful of articles until they reached Featured Article status. I hope to be doing this the most in the long run because it is very satisfying for me; when I tire of this (compiling information and entering it in an easy-to-understand manner is hard work!) I spend time fighting vandalism because it doesn't require as much of my creativity skills so it lets me rest that part of my brain for a while. Of course, as you can see from my edits, even the amount of time I spend fighting vandalism not a minor detail.
Also, I do have Twinkle (and Friendly) already installed, and they are indeed extremely useful. And, I'm in the EST timezone, so it's pretty late for me, too (disregarding the fact that I'm typically up at this time of night, anyways!) Gary King (talk) 09:33, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Adoption?

Hi, i'm a new editor, but I've found that when I click the "edit this page" tab, the screen that pops up is filled with lots and lots of code I don't understand and makes me feel a bit like a deer-in-the-headlights. I've been reading some of the multitude of information available to new editors and stumbled across the adopt-a-newbie program-thingy. I was looking through the various adopters available and you struck me as possibly being a good fit for me, especially since I also love anime and manga! So, interested in adopting me? BigNSmart (talk) 10:18, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello again, I'm not sure exactly how you'd like me to format anything you want me to ask you about, so I'll just stick it here for now. One of the questions I have about updating references; I've been looking to go through and try to cull/update website references and one of the things I've noticed is that many of them have "retrieved on (date)". If I confirm that a reference is still good, should I update this to a current date? BigNSmart (talk) 23:42, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
