AWB[edit]Thanks for pearing down the list. I've been meaning to get around to approvals for some time, but I never seem to be on a computer that won't die from loading all the contribs. Anyway, you're approved. alphachimp 18:16, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
STBot and templates[edit]Howdy! I have a question an edit STbot made. In this, it added an 'uncategorized' template, even though the article has a stub template that places it into a category. I'm guessing that it didn't parse the stub template to see if there was a category involved, would you consider that as an enhancement suggestion? - CHAIRBOY (☎) 15:34, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Excellent RFA question![edit]"You've been here for months, made thousands of edits, and devoted hundreds of hours to Wikipedia without pay or and tangible reward. Above you said why you wanted to be an admin, but why do you want to be a Wikipedian? What was your motivation for joining, and for staying?" I was wondering if you would like to give RFA another shot; from my view you are an experienced spam/vandal fighter (like me :D) and you have improved greatly since you last RFA's. RedSkunk<supstyle="color:black">talk 17:57, 24 February 2007 (UTC) Good morning (GMT time); please remain civil in line with the official Wikipedia policy, Wikipedia:Civility, at your RfA. My advice is to consult this policy before you post any further edits to your RfA - the high quantity of Strong Opposes to your receiving the tools is - in my humble opinion - because of your incivility towards oppose voters, including one post bordering on a Personal Attack: "...I don't trust Lantoka. He has a weird name, his sig is in the font "CAC Krazy Legs Bold", and he's editing at 11 PM. I don't see why he should be allowed to help anyone to do anything..." In addition, another reason why at the moment there appers to be no chance of your RfA being passed is because you are demonstrating you do not understand a key Wikipedia Policy - how can you be expected to understand the more complicated and/or less high-profile ones, such as WP:SOCK, WP:3RR or WP:OFFICE (just random shortcuts to policies I had in the back of my mind). You are eliminating any respect the community may previously have had for you, and I am afraid you may get yourself into hot soup if you continue. Kindly refrain from incivility at all times. Removed link - why?[edit]Hello - The European Library gives access to the combined resources of Europe's national libraries. In the El Cid wiki you removed a link to a valuable resource of this library gateway, to be exact to the 14th century El Cid codex (1245>1207). This link adds very relevant information on El Cid... sorry but I like to know your argumentation why you deleted this link. Thanks.Fleurstigter 19:59, 3 March 2007 (UTC) Please stop making useless edits.[edit]You are making large numbers of edits which only move a pre-existing stub template below the categories. The next time a pywikipediabot based bot (like most interlanguage bots) edits one of these pages it will move them back because the standard on enwiki is that categories go at the bottom as they are displayed. --Gmaxwell 21:48, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Am I in Trouble?[edit]Help! Today I thought I had finally mastered all pertinent rules and procedures to accomplish what Wikipedia classifies as no more than a "minor" edit to existing articles (i.e., addition of an external link). I did so for eight carefully selected articles to no avail. All eight edits were quickly deleted. The added links were to a unique compilation of twenty years of government-level expertise geared to need-to-know end-users likely interested in each of the eight topics. But, I gather that someone or something has determined the additions to be spam. The deleted external link in question isn't a scam, isn't to sell anything, and isn't to promote anyone. Nor is it designed to impress search engines. The only purpose is to enhance understanding by augmenting topically pertinent articles. World-class research institutions already link to it. I had started by drafting an email to Wikipedia asking for its permission to grant a link only to detect no suitable addressee. Can you please tell me what's wrong with the added links? Beats me? Please feel free to scan the site cited in the deleted edits and satisfy yourself. Look like spam? To whom is an apology extended? From where is permission granted? Is the deleted link now on some blacklist? If so, how to delete it? Please give it to me in simple English. Thanks! CCS 04:21, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

I re-read the Wikipedia external link guidelines, and none of the categories of prohibited links pertains in this case. I'm not the person who added that link in the first place, but it does happen to be one of the 3 or so message boards which actually have substantive discussion of the television program. The Bad Girls links section still contains links to other message boards with less substantive discussions (including a link to a message board which isn't even about the show!), and other sites which are specific to a single character. When the bot removes a name as "already exists", does that meanit was recently created or was created anytime? Hi! I wanted to give you a friendly reminder of a newer addition to policy. Due to the reversion on your userpage, I'm sure that you weren't aware of it, it's a rather new addition. The new section states that The Wikipedia community generally frowns upon simulating the MediaWiki interface, and it should be avoided. As a guideline, it is not set in stone, however it is generally accepted among editors and is considered a standard that all users should follow and should be treated with common sense and the occasional exception, which links to Ignore all rules. IAR requires that the rules prevent you from improving the wiki, however some slack is given to this wording as long as your edits either reflect consensus or improve the wiki. Please make the necessary edits to your userpage so it abides with community consensus! Thanks, ST47Talk 23:14, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

As I said before, it would be nice if it did result in this theory 'bot' but if it didn't I would appreciate the thought you put in to asking me what I meant. BirthdayBot[edit]I am currently running Windows, so is there any way you can get it to run on a Windows-based machine? If not, how do I run the bot? Otherwise, I could run it on the toolserver if things get to that stage, right?. I am going on a WikiBreak from around 11am UTC until Saturday, so if you want to email me the source and some installation instructions, that should be fine, but I do want to get it running soon (on my Windows computer, if possible). Many thanks, Extranet (Talk | Contribs) 08:04, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Ralbot 06:32, 17 April 2007 (UTC) Today, I notices that your bot, AccReqBot, added gladyskattam 24 times to Wikipedia:Request an account/April 2007. According to the history of the page, Tra also removed such duplicates. Please fix your bot so it only adds the name to the list once. Od Mishehu 10:42, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
BAG Bot[edit]Hi - would it be possible to get the bot to recognise the Withdrawn by operator. template? Wikipedia:Bots/Requests_for_approval/Ocobot_2 is an example where the bot failed to recognise that the task had bee withdrawn. Thanks, MartMartinp23 12:30, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Bbot[edit]I must strongly suggest you cease operating this bot. Much discussion has gone into the topic a while back (don't remember the exact pages though, sorry) and it was decided the bot would go against our main objective which is to improve the community, not post automatic wishes, especially when the wishes are just templates. I've posted this at the talks of both Extranet and ST47, I suggest discussion continues on ST47's page. +Hexagon1 (t) 06:52, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Section[edit]Hi ST47. I'm not sure this is the correct venue for this comment, but maybe you can help. I posted an essay I wrote, and it's listed as a possible copyright infringement. I came across the notice at this location: http://www.search.com/reference/Hellenism_and_the_Jews I am the author, I researched the content for a lecture series, and I allowed it to be published to the web site: http://www.csjo.org/pages/essays/essayhellenism.htm There is no copyright infringement, and I don't know how to get the notice removed. Can you help? Best Regards, Jeff Zolitor Bot[edit]Your account request bot has gone wrong, i think, it appears to have added the same name to the archive tens of times, please fix. Thanks. B'day Bot[edit]It doesn't look like the approval is going too good. Do you think it will pass? Also, you might want to follow up further comments at the BRFA as they are saying to propose it to the Village pump. Many thanks, Extranet (Talk | Contribs) 22:57, 22 April 2007 (UTC) Vadalism study[edit]Could you write a bot that could collect the types of information that we are discussing on the vandalism study page? Given the fact that most of the current volunteers at don't know how to write a program for a bot, could you explain to us what would be easy to create and what would be difficult to create? See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Vandalism_studies/Study2#Clarification for the most recent discussion about this matter. Much appreciated! If you or anyone else wish to get crat confirmation that's fine but it won't change the result :) Please add your current signature to Wikipedia:Bots/Approvals group. Also do this when approving bots for trial. —METS501 (talk) 18:12, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi! Sorry to bother you, but can I have a link to User:CmdrObot's approval? It doesn't seem to be in the usual place. Thanks! ST47Talk 22:28, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Ralbot 06:46, 1 May 2007 (UTC) The bot was sadly declined. From most of the comments, they look like they need a prior community discussion. Do you think you could start a discussion at the village pump, or do you just want to leave it for now? Extranet (Talk | Contribs) 11:12, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
