Estonian Kroon[edit]Hi, I've seen that you've added a lot of stuff to Estonian kroon and tried to make it like euro or USD. I just want to tell you that I partially revert your edit not because the information is false. I did so because of the guide line at Wikipedia:WikiProject Numismatics/Style/Currency article. Euro and USD have more details that don't fit with the guide line. For example, the euro is a multinational currency where many languages are all considered official. That's why it has a funny way of showing different spelling at the top of the infobox. Greek is not an official language of Estonia, that's why I reverted your edit. In addition, I see that you plan to create "Estonian coins" and "Estonian banknotes". The naming convention would result in "Banknotes of the Estonian kroon" and "Coins of the Estonian kroon". Precedents include Banknotes of the Czech koruna, Banknotes of the pound sterling, and Banknotes of the Romanian leu. Thank you. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 06:23, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Brunei Currency[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of Brunei ringgit This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. If you were to move Brunei ringgit, please also move Coins of the Brunei ringgit. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 07:14, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

I've been having trouble with Mexican peso and Spanish dollar (mostly the former) due to the actions of Jolliette and three IP addresses that clearly belong to this user. After I pointed out the multiple identities, Jolliette and 74.136.211.15 engaged in a bizarre sequence of edits to make it look like they were distinct people. Unfortunately, this person has given the game away on User talk:Hammersoft by contributing to the same (unconnected) discussion using two of his/her IDs. As there's only one registered user, I'm not sure how to go about registering this as sock puppetry and I wondered if you could point me in the right direction. Mozilla Digital Memory Bank[edit]Dear Chochopk, I am a graduate research assistant at the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University. In recent years we have produced a number of online archives such as The September 11 Digital Archive (http://911digitalarchive.org/) and the Hurricane Digital Memory Bank (http://www.hurricanearchive.org/). Our team is currently gathering digital documents related to Mozilla products for the Mozilla Digital Memory Bank (http://mozillamemory.org), and we are in the process of interviewing some of the lead members, former and present, of the Mozilla community. I recently found your Mozilla/Firefox-related contributions located at http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/History_of_Mozilla_Firefox. Given your involvement with Mozilla, we think your voice would be an excellent addition to the archive. If you are interested in having your perspectives added to the record, we can conduct the interview via Skype, instant messenger, or email—whichever method might fit your schedule and preferences best. I have included below the first three questions of the interview in order to give you a sense of the process. For examples of completed interviews, please feel free to examine the interviews section (http://mozillamemory.org/browse.php?cat=interview) of our archive. If you are interested in contributing your perspectives on the Mozilla community and its products, you can reach me by e-mail at gcheong@gmu.edu. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions regarding the interview process or the Mozilla Digital Memory Bank. Thank you for your time and attention. Best regards, Giny Cheong

Chinese yuan[edit]Hello. I know that you are an expert on currency matters, so I would like to ask your opinion on my proposal in Talk:Yuan (currency)/Archives/2011#Chinese Yuan & Renminbi. I am pretty sure that this is not the first time similar ideas were proposed. The proposals are to (1) form a thorough history of the Chinese yuan from its birth in the late 19th century to now - including the yuan in use during imperial period -1911, yuan issued by the Nationalists KMT until 1949, and finally the contemporary RMB section, and (2) merge the RMB article into the Chinese yuan article (not the other way round). So, it will become somewhat like the Chinese currency article without the pre-19th century sections such as copper coins or cowry shells. Thank you for the reply. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you. Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you. Extended confirmed protection[edit]Hello, Chochopk. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy. Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas. In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you. Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins[edit]Hello, Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right. It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best. If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR.
