Thanks for the feedback regarding The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World
Hi Tokoygirl79-
Thanks for your feedback regarding my edits! I'm sure they'll help me be a better contributor in the future.
I am a fan of the book, and I understand how that might have slipped into my write up. But the one thing I feel the need to defend is my use of the words "guide" and "primer." Neither were terms I had picked from the ether and assigned to the work, but rather they were taken from a number of the sources I cited in my edits. Including reviews by the Economist, Bill Gates, and Fareed Zakariafor the New York Times.
I've actually read the book, and in my opinion (which people probably don't really care about, but whatever ;-), saying that the book could serve as a primer for those interested in the field is value added to the article.
Thanks again for the feedback (and for all of the other work you're clearly doing here)!

You are mistaken.
You have made a mistake. The new David Weber book _IS_ out, RIGHT NOW. The difference is, Shadow of Freedom or Shadow Of Freedom is available for purchase as an eARC (eARK?), the _CONVENTIONAL_ "dead tree" version is the one that's due out in March 2013.
Please undo your changes, and restore the page.
LP-mn (talk) 16:19, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- BTW, your so called edits of the introductory paragraph {See version for Shadow Of Freedom dated 04:04, November 29, 2012 Tokyogirl79 (talk | contribs)} leave out a key point. It's debatable whether or not this is a "Mainline" book or a "Saganami" book. Also, examples from MANY other articled do permit links to the "snippets" of the book.
LP-mn (talk) 16:29, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
Given your high level of activity over the past week, I have to assume that you've either forgotten about this DYK nomination again, despite a reminder of it being on your talk page, or you no longer care. If no action is taken within 24 hours of your next edit, then it will be clear that the second assumption is the operative one, and I will close the nomination. It seems a shame not to address the minor issues involved, but it's your nomination and you are the article's co-author, so it's your decision on whether you wish to pursue it. DYK for Robert Peernock

The article The Death of Bees has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Fails WP:NBOOK
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Patchy1 07:09, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- I was wondering why there is no article for the author, since she seems to have some kind of literary track record. I know it's not necessarily your "job" to create it but I just wondered why you created the article for the book in isolation. Deb (talk) 09:01, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm... I hadn't really looked at the author as much as just for the book. I'm more of a book editor as far as Wikipedia goes, but I'll take a look to see what I can find. Part of why I didn't look as hard is because I thought this was her debut novel, but then I know that doesn't always mean that the author might not have excelled in other areas. I'll go take a look later today or tomorrow.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 15:06, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

While the edits are helpful copy-editng when taken at face-value, they're most likely a part of Andrea's ongoing crusade against your grammar, especially considering that two of the three pages in question already exist in the mainspace. Re: 50 SoG, a subject I know nothing about. What was your thinking: to merge the first book into the series, or have a series article plus three book articles, or the series article be the catch-all for content related to all three books? Seems like a lot of content in the first book could be moved into the series article, but might be tricky to separate out.. -- Green Cardamom (talk) 20:05, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- There is the rub, though. I don't know what could really be moved out into the main article that wouldn't be best served in the main article for the first book. I'd have just created an individual article for each book, but I'm not convinced that the sources I have for each book are really enough. There are some individual trade reviews, but most of the reviews are from student papers or are group reviews of all of the books or of 2 and 3. It's enough to where someone could question whether or not they merited an entry. I'm willing to create an entry for each one, but I don't want to put them into the mainspace if they're going to be at serious risk for deletion.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 20:10, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Prof
Hi Tokyogirl, I'm sorry I couldn't be more encouraging about the prof article. Just not sure what to say... tho' I do basically keep clear of BLP, haven't really done any beyond tweaking some at AfD and when encountered at random. Most of my bios have been of Victorians... Hope it's ok with you. BTW if there's only one T-shirt going I don't think we're in with much of a chance, does it actually say somewhere how many there are? Chiswick Chap (talk) 22:10, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- I think that there are more than one, but if not then it's just nice to be nominated, though! As far as the professor stuff goes, I'm not that surprised that he falls shy of notability guidelines. It's really hard to get notability in general and while he's cited often in local papers and in books, there really aren't any sources that are directly about him. He does hold a pretty high status at VCU, but I don't think that college is prestigious enough to where he'd pass under that qualification. Thanks for giving me an honest answer, though. This is why I wanted a second opinion before I did anything. It's the epitome of COI: I want to add him so badly that I'm seeing more notability than there is.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 15:09, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, it's hard to get a clear view of these things, and I certainly know little about him. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:17, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tokyogirl79. When you made a change to the Blessing in Disguise disambiguation page your edit summary grabbed my attention. Please, per WP:PIPING, do not obscure the full title of an entry on a disambiguation page, because it help the reader (and us) to quickly find the right article. Even on this page showing full titles is helpful, because it shows us in one glance that there is more than one album with this name.
You also introduced a second blue link on the first entry line, that is also something you shouldn't do because it adds confusion to the reader what to click (see WP:DDD). Finally, happy holidays and blessings for the new year! Cheers LittleWink (talk) 20:03, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Hey, I think you may be the person I need to verify the article Reiko Sugahara. I've just reviewed it and tagged it as having a number of issues. What surprises me is that even though the CV is pretty incredible and she has allegedly done all this stuff, she has ZERO Google News archive hits and barely anything reliable coming up on Google in first few pages. I don't want to nominate it for deletion without being at least reasonably sure it's a case of a genuine lack of sources/notability, so I'd be grateful if you can take a quick look at it and see if there are any sources in Japanese for her. Response per User:Casini92653/Anastasia_Darlena_Casini
First of all, thank you for your input and suggestions. I will try the deletion process you suggested, although I am a bit confused by the various protocols here (not being very techie brained).
Secondly, I am familiar with persons involved, and this is a highly destructive and not totally accurate post created by a disturbed women, Norma Casini, from prison, with the intent to harm further her daughter. Norma Casini embezzled money from elderly persons. When caught, prosecutors tried to drag her two daughters into it to create leverage. One daughter, Anastasia Mendezkestler, threw herself under the bus, so to speak, to keep her younger sister out of the mess (their crime was receiving gifts from their own mother). Anastasia is no longer a felon, the probation was dropped and she presently works a full time (low paying) job to support herself and her five year old daughter. She only wants to move on with her life-- and God knows why the mother would create this post, FROM PRISON, in her daughters name. The daughter knew nothing about this Wiki post. It certainly doesn't fit any possible notable Wikipedia criterion, it is only an attempt to re-drag a victim back into the mud.
(And thank you for listening to me regarding this!) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Richard Elfman (talk • contribs) 22:30, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
Have since gotten more information. The Casini page should definitely be removed, but I am not sophisticated enough to figure out how to do it... it's really complicated for a novice! Page was set up as a family promo by the mother, before the mother went to prison. Now it's been hijacked by a stranger, we think a particular rival from work. Page & subject is a living person who at this point in time is DEFINITELY not Wikipedia relevant by any standards. Can you please help me with this? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Richard Elfman (talk • contribs) 00:16, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

- It's dealt with - unsourced contentious material about living people gets removed, no matter whether it's a draft or a fully fledged article. Richard, I will warn User:Casini92653; if you notice similar material being added again, please let me or another admin know. Tokyogirl79 - good call with the G10. Speedy deletion nomination of Jobie Hughes
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jobie Hughes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Darkness Shines (talk) 12:32, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
