Speedy speedy

Hi Prahlad balaji, thanks for tagging the article HungerStation as speedy. I agree with the rationale! However, this is also a new editor and the first article. All other things equal, it's always good to give articles a little bit of a chance to see what editors make of it. Speedy tagging within 1 minute of creation seems excessively fast. Unless an article is defamatory, etc., it's always a good idea to let them sit for 10-15 mins and see what happens. I hope this makes sense. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 00:13, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Jake Brockman, thanks for letting me know. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 00:13, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
I actually realised that HungerStation is the local brand of Delivery Hero and is mentioned in that article. I redirected instead. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk

HungerStation is the most popular delivery food app in Saudi arabia and it used by many people which means it is popular and must be published in Wikipedia, i think there is no reason for the deletion of the article, given that i made some mistakes while editing and published it accidently without putting sources, developing ect.. so i think the page must be recovered

Aziz bm See the discussion above. The page has been retargeted. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 00:45, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Talabat is similar to hungerstation and it's local brand is delivery hero, and it's article not redirected, so there is no clear reason to redirect the article, i recommend you to recover the page and give me full access to edit, adding sources ect...

  • As with draftifying, above, please do not be in such a hurry. As it says in Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, "Contributors sometimes create pages over several edits, so administrators should avoid deleting a page that appears incomplete too soon after its creation." Give an editor a chance to add sources etc. The only cases which should be nominated for speedy deletion immediately after creation are those involving things like controversial BLP or clear vandalism. PamD, thanks for telling me. Jake Brockman told me above. --PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 12:16, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Sockpuppet investigation

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Prahlad balaji, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

HungerStation

I am shocked at what you did from the Hungerstation page, although until now there is no clear reason to retarget/redirect the page, given that Talabat has the same thing to HungerStation, it's local brand isHero delivery and it's article is still existing, also, the app is populary used in Saudi Arabia which means it must be published in Wikipedia, And excuse me if I bothered you, I am a new user and I did not create articles until I collected all the reliable sources Aziz bm (talk) 01:05, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Aziz bm Please see WP:NOTABILITY. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 01:10, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

i was creating the page, i was going to add sources and develop it but suddenly i mistakenly published the page before completing it, so this is my reason to recover it, thanks

Aziz bm Then feel free to create a draft for it at Draft:HungerStation. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 01:16, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for helping, I've just edited the article, i will leave all the other things to be contributed by the editors, I will leave you the space to watch It and decide whether or not the page was worth publishing

Filter

Thanks Prahlad ji for helping with my earlier filter problem. Please help again on this anothe problem with the same filter. Short term, please apply navbox to those articles in the "See Also". For the long term, you could fix the filter in a way that it will parse the article namespace and article lede fields in database, and then will allow the insertion of banned words in the article if those words already exist in the article namespace or lede, or some similar rule. Thanks. 58.182.176.169 (talk) 00:34, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on User:Phillip from PCPP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Edit warring

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. NB: I am going to place this on the other editor's talk page too. Giraffer (munch) 10:58, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

Removing CSD

Well, I explained it pretty well why I removed your prod nomination - the article Nicki_minaj_sample_songs is definitely not a PROD Candidate, it is a CSD A9. BTW: Quite unusual to use templates messaging twice for experienced editors like me but anyway. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:36, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

commanderWaterford What are you talking about? The article Nicki Minaj exists, and is notable, and I did not PROD it, but I AfD'd it. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:38, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
Prahlad balaji, I am talking about your false revert at Nicki_minaj_sample_songs and leaving an automated warning message at my talk page. AfD is not the correct way for this "article", it is a CSD Candidate. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:41, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
CommanderWaterford, I don't think this applies for CSD A9, as Nicki Minaj is notable, and has a page. Please elaborate. Thanks, PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:43, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

Applying Appropriate CSD Tags

Right here you applied a G11 to a draft article which a “G11” did not apply. A G2 was okay, the G11 wasn’t, it’s a common practice amongst relatively new editors who aren’t sure of which tags to apply, apply multiple tags hoping one of them would stick. Just thought to let you know since you aren’t amongst the “relatively new editor” crew. Celestina007 (talk) 17:31, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

I'm a relatively new user so its actually the first instance of random spamming that occurred. --Ashleyyoursmile! 15:25, 11 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi Ashleyyoursmile, there are a lot of instances where talkpages get spammed (not necessarily with spam links though, like in your case). For example, here and [1]. However, I haven't seen many spam links being inserted into talkpages, so your case is somewhat unique. Keep up the good work! Ty (disambiguation)

Hi Prahlad blaji, just a note to explain the revert at Ty (disambiguation) - since disambiguation pages are intended to help readers quickly distinguish between articles with similar titles, each entry should contain only one blue link - MOS:DABENTRY, if you're intereseted. Please slow down

First of all, I'd like to apologize for my mistaken revert of Bryan O'Mara. I wanted to double check your contributions before writing this message (which I was doing on my phone), and my fat finger somehow hit the revert button by accident.

It's great to see that you're taking an active interest in improving the project. However, you have been cautioned about getting involved in administrative areas numerous times by Nick and Ponyo previously, and most recently by Praxidicae. I noticed that you recently created Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/The Suix. Typically, the goal with LTA's is to deny recognition as much as possible unless there's a compelling reason to maintain institutional knowledge for an LTA. I worry that other editors may begin to see it as disruptive, which I certainly doubt is your intention.

You don't have to answer this one way or the other, but your interactions with others gives me the impression that you might be an underage editor. If I'm wrong on that, I sincerely apologize. If you are, though, I'll simply say this: I vividly remember when I was 10 and discovered Wikipedia for the first time, and I remember how eager I was to jump in and contribute to the project. I ultimately made many mistakes starting out, especially by trying to get involved in anti-vandalism work and administrative areas too quickly. I was fortunate to come across a very caring and respectful administrator at the time that encouraged me to slow down and focus on improving content rather than administrative areas, which got me involved with copy-editing articles and improving the project's content however I could.

I'd like to encourage you to do the same: don't worry about the back-end administrative stuff and find an area that you would enjoy writing about or improving articles on. After all, that's why we're all here. OhKayeSierra (talk) 17:40, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi OhKayeSierra, . I don't enjoy writing about things or creating articles. Instead, I want to review new articles and do anti-vandalism work and AFC. I have only been continuously involved since November 2019 (though I joined in July 2016). I'm not really sure I understand the purpose of LTA, so I will stop doing it. Do you suggest I blank the page? PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:49, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
Also, I don't think that cleaning up vandalism can be classified as "administrative work". PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 18:17, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
Sorry. It took a bit longer for me to get back to this than I would've liked. Anyway, that's fair enough. I don't really have much more to add beyond what I've already said, so I'll simply suggest that you take your time to find a niche area that interests you and try to avoid getting the administrative stuff if you can. WP:GFYE is also worth a read. It's an advice essay meant for younger editors that explains the ins and outs of the project and the many standards of it.
I do hope that you consider giving content creation a try. I certainly enjoyed handling anti-vandalism work and thought that it was the only aspect of Wikipedia I wanted to be involved in. I think that gaining experience in content creation would make you a better vandal fighter overall, and would give you a better understanding of the ins and outs of the project. I also suggest that you consider finding a mentor on the project. I wouldn't be the editor that I am today if I didn't have another editor that took an interest in me and encouraged me to get involved in more fulfilling aspects of the project.
If you do change your mind, I encourage you to consider joining a WikiProject that interests you. And, if you're good at spelling and grammar, we could always use an extra hand at the Guild of Copy-Editors. Please feel free to shoot me a message if I can ever help you out in any way. OhKayeSierra (talk) 22:07, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
Hi OhKayeSierra, thanks for the advice! Do you know where I could find a mentor? Thanks, PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 22:21, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
By the way, I don't think the revert was on your phone. I don't see any "mobile edit" tags. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 22:22, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

My suggestion would be to read WP:MENTOR first, then seek out another editor that you respect and can learn from. Adopt-a-user is pretty much inactive and has been for the better part of a decade, but some of the users that were adopters are still active. Might be worth asking around. To answer your second point, I typically don't use the mobile site directly on my phone. Rather, I have my preferences set to redirect Wikipedia to the desktop site (since it's second nature for me to navigate it that way), so the mobile edit tag wouldn't show for edits like that. OhKayeSierra (talk) 05:03, 18 July 2020 (UTC)

OhKayeSierra, thanks for the advice. I will keep that in mind next time! PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 05:05, 18 July 2020 (UTC)

Talkbacks

Hi Prahlad. I noticed that you recently (1, 2) used {{talkback}}s on two registered users' talk pages. However, since you pinged them, talkbacks are unnecessary. Talkbacks should generally only be used (1) for IP users, for whom pings do not work, and (2) for registered users who have said that they prefer talkback messages over pings (if there are any; I don't know any myself). Best, --Mdaniels5757 (talk) 17:32, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Ok Mdaniels5757, but how do we know if they have turned on pings? You can't turn off talkpage messages however. And for people like MusikAnimal, who edit ~every 3 days, the first thing they'll see is the "You have new messages" notification. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:34, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
@Prahlad balaji: I don't know of any users who have turned off pings, and neither MusikAnimal nor GeneralNotability have anything on their talks saying otherwise. If you're really concerned, turn on the "Failed mention" and/or "Successful mention" settings at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-echo. And sure, they'd see the "you have new messages" notification with a talk page message, but with a ping they'd still see the bell icon containing their notification (if your inquiry were important enough to need it to be the first thing they saw, perhaps a talk page message would be appropriate, but it really wasn't). Best, —Mdaniels5757 (talk) 17:44, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
Mdaniels5757 I know many users (like Materialscientst) who have turned off their pings. They don't always disclose it. Also, a "failed mention" doesn't come when I ping a user who has turned off their mentions, instead a "successful mention" (I did it right here for example). I did turn on the "failed mention" and "successful mention btw. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:47, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

TheSaucyPizza, are you writing it in draftspace or mainspace? (does it have a prefix of Draft: before it?) PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:38, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Thought uncertain, I believe it is in the mainspace currently (as I do not see a Draft: prefix. Here's a link to the article in question: NeosVR TheSaucyPizza (talk) 17:40, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

TheSaucyPizza, as it is in the mainspace, you might want to read WP:YFA, WP:Notability (video games), and WP:COI. If you are paid for your edits, then you should also disclose it. Regards, PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:44, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

I'll be sure to look over those pages and append NeosVR accordingly. I am not being paid for my edits, though I have disclosed a COI in my bio and in the article's talk page. In the meantime, is there anything I can do improve the readability of the article? TheSaucyPizza (talk) 17:48, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

TheSaucyPizza, you might want to give the lead a few references. It is likely that a new page reviewer will review your work, and comment on it. Best, PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:50, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

OK. So I understand you I should bolster the introductory paragraph with more references? TheSaucyPizza (talk) 17:56, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

TheSaucyPizza, yep, but not too much. 3 to 5 will do. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:58, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Done and done, thank you very much for your help! When will I know if a new page reviewer deems my work as suitable, if possible? TheSaucyPizza (talk) 18:26, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

TheSaucyPizza, I don't know. I am not a new page reviewer. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 18:30, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
  • @Prahlad balaji: You say above "you might want to give the lead a few references": please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section#Citations which explains that as everything in the lead should appear elsewhere in the article, properly cited, citations are not usually needed in the lead except to support potentially controversial point, especially in articles on living people. This article doesn't need to have any citations in its lead. As you say, you are not a New Page Reviewer. Please do not take it on yourself to instruct other editors in areas where you don't really know it all. Thanks. PamD 20:08, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
pamD Ok, but they were the ones asking for help. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 22:16, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Removing CSD tag to Five Points of Remonstrance

Before tagging any article for CSD, better check the edit history, the author moved the page and forgot to tag for G6, so it was never blanked. Regards Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 18:22, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

Deny

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I noticed that on User:Majawrs, you added some new CSD tags, one of which that stated "G5: sockpuppet of Wacky Wars". What me and other editors who have been consistently been dealing with these LTA accounts have been doing is the practice of denying recognition. This includes not mentioning any sort of reference to our friend Wacky Wars here. This includes no warnings, no edit summaries, no SPI tags, no nothing that can possibly give Wacky Wars any sort of recognition, as that is exactly what that guy wants. So in the future if you encounter any more of these sort of accounts, please note WP:DENY. Thanks! ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 04:32, 26 July 2020 (UTC)

ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯, thanks. I won't be giving recognition to our friend (or should I say, fiend) anytime soon. Regards, PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 04:34, 26 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi!

Hi! Thank you for your recent AIV report. I'm not an admin, so I can't process it, but I'm sure that an admin will get to it in good time.

When I saw your report, I also noticed your signature.

I'm curious:

  • Why does your signature include the words "This message was left at"?
  • Why does the "T" link not link directly to your talk page?

Kind regards, —Unforgettableid (talk) 04:49, 26 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi Unforgettableid, thank you for your query. My "T" not linking directly to my talkpage comes from a time when I didn't substitute my signature page, but had the signature directly on the prefs. There was a character limit, and I didn't want to go above the limit, so I just linked it to my contact page. It has since stuck. As for the "This message was left at", I don't know, I just kind of like it. Cheers and best regards, PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 04:53, 26 July 2020 (UTC)

Hello!

Just a heads-up: You actually don't need to add a 4im warning after a level 4 warning. The 4im warnings are used as a first and only warning . Regards

Use of rollback.

Please do not rollback my edits, like you did here, where there is no WP:VANDALISM which is what the rollback feature is for. There was no need to rollback my report (and then replace it with your own). Rollback is for vandalism.   Kadzi  (talk) 17:31, 27 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi Dr. Kadzi, I reverted your good-faith edit. The only reason that the rollback tag shows up is because I put a setting on my tool that makes it revert faster, whether good faith or not. Please see User_talk:GalaxyDog/Archive_1#Rollback granted and Wikipedia:RedWarn#A disclaimer regarding rollback for more info, thanks. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:35, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the message re the RedWarn. Even so, you shouldn't have removed my report. I put it there for administrator attention and it is not of good etiquette to remove something that I have put there for administrator attention, even if you feel the reason was incorrect (which it wasn't)   Kadzi  (talk) 17:40, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
Dr. Kadzi, how is Alex a VOA? PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:41, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
My justification for reporting was not only that they were a VOA, if you read it here, as you can see I also wrote an actual justification. Whether or not it was or was not a VOA is inconsequential as it is up to an administrator to decide what the appropriate sanction / reason is for blocking - not you or I. Similarly to CSD, I could pick a plethora reasons but if one fits, the page is eligible for deletion.   Kadzi  (talk) 17:45, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
Ok, I won't remove other's AIV reports again. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:46, 27 July 2020 (UTC)

Hello world 6, Hello, Prahlad is on a wiki break, actually to join the CVUA, you must have 200 edits to mainspace. You must also have some experience in fighting vandalism. Currently you do not meet the above criteria hence it’s going to be hard to join the CVUA(depends on trainer). I suggest you start reading WP:V and start fighting vandalism to get some experience. False positive report

I had left a false positive report for filters, here:

https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Edit_filter/False_positives/Reports#Twawc

I don't understand your answer. Do you mean that the edits aren't NPOV? How so? The President of a country insulted multiple people on Twitter, and I simply translated what he said. The article on Jair Bolsonaro has extensive sections about how he denigrates people, and they're all properly translated.

I find it fascinating that Wikipedia's bots block the very words of a President, because even the bots realize how rude they are. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Twawc (talkcontribs) 16:36, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi Twawc "Fernández is known for his rude, aggressive behavior towards people with opposing viewpoints." is considered in violation of NPOV. Hope this answers your question. Best regards, --PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 21:44, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
Sure, that can be interpreted as non-NPOV. However, the translations should stay. Look at my second attempt to add the translations, and you'll see that this sentence is missing.Twawc (talk) 07:29, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

I received a similar notice on Creighton Preparatory Schools when editing but had difficulty ascertaining which source was classified as unreliable. If it was the Good Morning America article then I can easily replace it with something different. The other two sources I use very frequently in WP:Nebraska so I can't see that being the issue. No one has anything against Shishir's work (which is probably good in its own right), its just that HATC (and the way they word their PERM requests), CIR, canvassing, flirting (calling a user "bae" and asking another for their contacts), removing someones opinion on their nomination page, and I want to be a sysop desperately mentality is greatly overshadowing their work. Bingobro (Chat) 06:52, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

Prahlad, there's nothing wrong with you supporting him or knowing him. I'm certainly not asking you to change your opinion on the giveaway page. It's just that the canvassing needed to be addressed and the community/WMF should probably not be giving out merchandise to someone who can't take criticism and act kinda weird with others. You are only partially blocked; you can still edit the talk page. You should post in Talk:Ecce_Homo_(Martínez_and_Giménez,_Borja)#Put_opening_in_past_tense and try to establish a consensus. PhilKnight (talk) 11:47, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Prahlad balaji, I have lifted your block as no longer necessary, given the current page protection status due to block-evading IP's. Sro23 (talk) 22:55, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
Sro23, thank you. I will never war again. --PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 23:33, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

Clerking the permissions noticeboard

You were told previously by Nick to stop clerking the permissions noticeboards, but I see you've started doing that again. Please stop. This is not an area where we need non-admin clerks. GeneralNotability (talk) 13:03, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
