FIFA World Cup lineups
Hello. I'd like to add the info about players' positions on the pitch for older FIFA World Cup matches (1998 and earlier). Since the FIFA website doesn't give the tactical lineups for earlier tournaments how are we supposed to get a reliable source for that? What should it look like? Is it ok to have a book or a brochure about a World Cup where someone describes how the players are placed on the field? Such a book can also be regarded as just a personal opinion and not a reliable source. On the other hand before I started editing the page it already had some positions written in front of the players' names (take a look at France lineup for their match against South Africa, some other pages also have it partly, e.g. Brazil vs Scotland lineups). Then this information should be removed as well, shouldn't it? Algorus (talk) 13:20, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Which misinterpretation did you talking about? The two combo used twice respectively, and the default set was with white socks. See 2015–16 PL handbook page 21 for details. – Flix11 (talk) 02:34, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

2004 UEFA Champions League final
I notice that you have deleted the line "The final was highly unusual in that neither team came from Spain, England, Germany or Italy. In every other Champions League final from 1997 to 2018, both teams came from these countries."
The dominance of European club football by a few countries is regarded by many as a serious political issue, and not at all trivial. However, I tend to avoid edit wars so I won't be reverting it.
As you have pointed out, this was hardly unheard of before 1991, when the European Cup was rebranded and significantly reformatted. Red Star Belgrade's appearance in the 1991 final has been described as a watershed, something that was not particularly surprising at the time but is unlikely to ever happen again. I don't think that they have reached even a quarter final since then. I won't be writing all this on Wikipedia, obviously. But hopefully it answers your question "so what?"

1999 Cup edit
I know that you are a Man. Utd. supporter (I had some issue with you many years ago regarding a kit history of that team); but referring the Intercontinental Cup, I did not supress or replace any text on the article; I only inserted a photo of the stadium where the match was held.
Please, before reverting an edit, be sure WHAT the edit is based on. Thanks Fma12 (talk) 18:43, 20 April 2019 (UTC)

2019 Saints–Rams "blown call" game
Hi PeeJay2K3,
I saw that you recently renamed the page on the Saints–Rams officiating controversy from this year's NFC championship game to reflect the whole game in its entirety. It's currently up for debate whether to keep it like that or to revert it back. I just wanted to invite you to the conversation to get your thoughts. Thanks! --WuTang94 (talk) 20:31, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

CPFC or F.C.?
Hi, This is the webpage resulting from the link you provided to explain the removal of the full stops. As you can see the main heading has the stops but the article refers to Crystal Palace FC which is the women's team: the 'ladies' or whatever the previous 'disamb' was (I don't remember) has been dropped and now just 'FC' used to distinguish. Confusing at first may be... even to me a regular user of the website. This is the page confirming AWB's departure and also uses just 'cpfc' in the url but as I understand it full stops could not be used there. Women's news items on the official webpage usually have 'Crystal Palace FC' in the title. Cheers. Eagleash (talk) 12:32, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- There's probably a case for not using the stops but I reckon it would need raising at the project to gain consensus. Whilst (in this case) the club still calls itself 'F.C.' — in the blue banner at the top of the page — I feel it shouldn't be changed without wider discussion. The only mention of 'FC' in the AWB page was in the very first sentence, which could just be for convenience reasons or a mistake. Whatever, less official than the webpage main heading. Cheers. Eagleash (talk) 13:01, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
Cori Gauff
Your understanding of WP:MOSNICKNAME is slightly flawed - it applies when an article is located at eg 'Steve Spencer' and the fullname of that person is 'David' - in which case it would be shown in the lede as 'David "Steve" Spencer'. If the article about Mr Spencer was located at 'David Spencer' the lede would be 'David Spencer'. So for Gauff you either need to move the article to 'Coco Gauff' (which would never pass a RM) or keep the nickname out of the lede. It's no different to having 'Paul "Gazza" Gascgoine'. Please note, that in 2003 the country was called Macedonia or Republic of Macedonia. Now, it's North Macedonia. If you use {{flagicon|MKD}} -> you see at the hint text "North Macedonia", a difference to {{flagicon|Macedonia}} , where "Republic of Macedonia" appears. Since the article is about 2003, the later is correct. Do we agree to revert your Undo? --GregorBungensheim (talk) 17:45, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
Wales national football team - players clubs
I've seen you're in a running battle on the Wales team page regarding the players clubs. I really do not get why you insist on leaving them on the clubs at the time on the announcement. I would understand if it was page for the tournament squad like the World Cup, but I don't see how it makes sense here. Also, the pages for other national squads like England (Kieran Trippier), Netherlands (De Jong & De Ligt) and Portugal (Joao Felix) do not do it this way, so it makes the page seem out of step with the rest of the site. KP-TheSpectre (talk) 22:53, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, that does help me to understand why you are doing it this way. Referencing your comments about the 'is-ought' problem, my reasoning comes down to the 'current squad' in practice actually being the most recent squad. At the time of writing, the squad has since disbanded (and therefore is not lomger current), until the next international break where a new squad will be selected. The list therefore shows the players in the most recent squad and their relevant stats (ie age, current club etc. Or at least that's how I've always viewed it. The province of the profile
This isn't problem of the article name. The player profiles need simple substances, and the details can write in their articles. Why do you insert unnecessarily long name? The profiles of the other players are not added "Province" and only used its name, or never use province in the birthplace. "Jeonnam" means "South Jeolla". Pinineeon (talk) 13:59, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

Infobox formatting
It would be great if you could stop messing around with infobox formatting please. Standard lay-out can be found at {{Infobox football biography}} which is in-line with every other infobox I've seen... GiantSnowman 18:05, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- I didn't respond because there's nothing to respond to. Your argument is just WP:ILIKEIT and has no base in MOS (because it is against the standard). You use this formatting on other pages? OK, great, but it has no impact. GiantSnowman 13:30, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

FK Crvena zvezda
Hi, sorry comming late but I took a mini wiki-break during weekend. It has a minor "z" because it is a name with two words, so only the first letter gets to be capital. It happends in cases of Res Star (in Serbian grammar would be "Red star" see the point?) "FK Crvena zvezda" and some other exemples like "FK Mladi radnik" ("FC Young worker" in translation) or Croatian club NK Hrvatski dragovoljac (meaning "FC Croatian volunteer"). When the second word is also a name by itself, as for instance the name of a city, then its capital as well, but when the name is formed by two words, the second doesn´t get to have a capital letter. FkpCascais (talk) 18:31, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
- I know that in English, all name words are supposed to be in capital letters, I grew up in Mexico and Portugal, so I know in English, same as Portuguese and Spanish, same hapends. But in Serbian, and some other languages, is different, it depends on what the complete name is, and if it carries more words than one, only the first gets to be capital. Original Serbian: Crvena zvezda, English: Red Star (Serbian transliteration: Red star), Spanish: Estrella Roja (Serbian transliteration: Estrella roja). Well, its not really a tranliteration, but rather an translitertion of the translation, but I think you got it, right? If you added a name by itself in the end, like Red Star plus Belgrade, in English you would have Red Star Belgrade, in Serbian Crvena zvezda Beograd, and in Srb. tranl. correct grammar, Red star Belgrade. I am actually very interested in your opinion, cause you are an veteran editor, and I had reverted some Serbian editors in the past insisting that in English all words in the name get capital letters, but now I am having doubts if I did well... 23:03, 2 September 2019 (UTC)FkpCascais (talk)
- I am so honored I can help, and happy I explained something I see many wonder. Well, its either Red Star Belgrade or FK Crvena zvezda, that should be the two options, either in English, either in original language. FK Crvena Zvezda is rather usual common mistake. - Hello, sorry for the late reply, but yes, as other editors have noted, it is due to grammatical conventions. The orthography of Serbo-Croatian requires capital letters less frequently that that of English. It’s similar in other languages like French, where only the first word in a sequence is capitalised (e.g. Predsjednik vlade, Premier ministre, but ‘Prime Minister’). Hope that helped! Nigeria U20 women football team Reverting.
Hello there I saw that you reverted an edit on the page of Nigeria U20 women football and I just want say there is a discussion going on the pages's talk page and your welcomed to have a discussion on the Issue. So please do not revert any edit onto the discussion is closed. Before you revert an edit at least know what you are reverting. You reverted to an edit that deleted the write up that gave a detailed explanation on the Nigerian national u-20 Team -"Its primary role is the development of players in preparation for the senior women's national team. The team competes in a variety of competitions, including the biennial FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and African U-20 Cup of Nations for Women , which is the top competitions for this age group." What is wrong with this that needed to be removed? Please tell me? You reverted to an edit that also deleted the African U-20 Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament section which is the the equivalent to UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship how is this information not useful because they are included on the European counties pages. Why remove the equivalent tournament on the Africa continent on an African page. You also reverted to an edit that deleted qualified for the World Cup under the achievements section. It is an achievement because it is the highest level of competition for the U-20 women team on the Africa continent just like South American U-20 Women's Championship and UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship is for South America and Europe so its is an achievement. Lastly you deleted the graphics if you don't know the graphic is commonly used on pages of African football teams and is also used on the Argentina national football team mens team so it should not be removed. How is any of the information I stated not useful? There is already a discussion on the talk page of the page so you're welcome to add you opinion. How is any of the information I mentioned not useful? Please explain you reasonOmoYoruba45 (talk) 15:55, 16 September 2019 (UTC)

Let me see if I understand. You reverted my work in progress to a previous version with less sources and a serious copyright violation from UEFA, as Diaannaa concisely explained in their edit summary. That's the why. I'll be expecting your self-revert, otherwise I'll assume you accept copyrighted work in Wikipedia. Regards, RetiredDuke (talk) 15:15, 22 September 2019 (UTC)

Cricket squads and edit warring
Hi. Per the conversation, there's nothing to say they should not be centered. I suggest you start a discussion or RfC and stop edit-warring over something like this. The layout is standard across hundreds of articles. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:41, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

2019 Lebanese Super Cup lineup image
Hi, I've noticed that you have created images for lineups of various matches. Would it be possible to create an image for the 2019 Lebanese Super Cup lineup? The players and their respective positions are already listed in the article itself. Thanks! Nehme1499 (talk) 16:16, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

Text hindering clarity
He's now a full-time manager. The text in that table box makes it look like he's still a caretaker manager, which he is not. I think being full-time triumphs caretaker, hence the text is not needed or at least implying untruth. Also, look, we can compromise by adding additional text below saying he is now a full-time manager. Thoughts? 9XY (talk) 17:45, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
