Hello I made a site called British American Football League system and put it in League system. I am thinking I should have just put this page British American Football League there instead. If you want to give me suggestions I will listen or if you want to make corrections go ahead. I think the League System is a great idea. John R G 06:45, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am concerned about the use of the BAFL (and others) in the links table at the foot of the page. Principally, because BAFL is NOT a professional league, it is inaccurate for it to be listed as such. Should BAFL be removed from the links table, or the links table be renamed? (Londonblitz 13:10, 20 February 2007 (UTC))[reply]

This is backed up by comment from Alastair Kirkwood (head of the NFL in the UK) in a recent interview who said:

WE continue to have great relationships but we are mindful of the fact that the amateur game is and should be self run, and that the NFL is there as support only

I agree with this. The list of links is a template. There's a discussion page specifically for that and I've raised your point there and it might be a good place to discuss it there. MLA 16:28, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to see this links template removed from the bottom of the BAFL page altogether. It's just not necessary. (Tripleprince 14:30, 3 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Good point. Now the BAFL has been taken out of that template there's no reason to have it here. MLA 18:50, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Team Listings

[edit]

Seeing as next years divisons have been confirmed by BAFL here http://www.gridironuk.co.uk/standings.php shouldn't this article be updated. (Would do it myself but don't know how to) Unsigned

Their are more BAFL teams listed in the BAFL category in the 'British American Football' template at the bottom of the page than in the 'Teams of BAFL' in this article itself. Can someone clarify them please? Robert C Prenic 08:10, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BAFL Teams - Article format.

[edit]

I've just recently found out about the BAFL and British American Football in general. Having a look through the various team pages, they all have completely different formats (presumably because they were all started independently by people involved with the various clubs).

Would anyone like to help in making all the articles follow a set layout to improve the general look of the subject as a whole? Man from the Ministry 17:39, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've updated Hampshire Thrashers and Dundee Hurricanes so far - they're more or less following the template you've used (except I've named the main section History rather than Overview). I'll do more when I have time, probably starting from BAFL 2 and working upwards. Bettia (talk) 16:24, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on British American Football League. Please take a moment to review my edit. Notability

[edit]

The notability heading for the article is completely unwarranted; it is at least as notable as any number of articles about various North American ruby groups. 2600:1004:B16C:13DB:4D91:BAEB:29B8:9BD (talk) 02:36, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Problems

[edit]

On the following link http://www.britballnow.co.uk/History/Championslist.html I see a problem as the league actually started play in 1985 with four champions listed before the champions list starts on this page. 1985 London Ravens, 1986 London Ravens, 1987 London Ravens and 1988 Birmingham Bulls. The article lists BAFL champions starting at 1989 but that's incorrect as the BAFL no longer existed in 1989 and had disbanded according to this article which is quite extensive and informative https://bura.brunel.ac.uk/bitstream/2438/6026/1/FulltextThesis.pdf and it doesn't reform until 2005 when the BSL rebrands itself as the new BAFL which your article states. On page 83 you find the creation of the BFF and AFLUK mentioned here as well and page 84 states the creation of the BAFL in 1986 but also it's collapse. On page 86 we see mentioned the BSL and how it rebranded itself as the new BAFL.

Your articles first line says the BAFL was the premiere league for American Football from 1998 to 2010. Is 1998 when the BSL started? The article doesn't say and I can't seem to find an article listing when it started but the BAFL obviously did not exist in 1998 unless this is the case. Also, over to the right in the box with the logo, it says it started in 1987... yet another year and another seeming contradiction.

Here is another interesting link on this topic https://ussporthistory.com/2016/10/03/the-long-history-of-american-football-in-the-uk/

I did not edit the article myself because there seems to be numerous issues with it and I am not confident enough that I could properly address this.

Please examine the links I have provided and then read the Wikipedia article again. As it stands, you can read the article and realize some things are not making sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Armorbeast (talkcontribs) 02:31, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
