I am comfortable that the decision was correct. Page protection is a last resort when other mechanisms cannot be used, this is meant to be an encyclopedia that anybody can edit. This is especially so when only one user is edit warring. One user edit warring should not prevent the rest of the community from editing. So, in my opinion, the block was correct, although I should also have unprotected the page. TigerShark (talk) 19:48, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

ACS userpage DRV - contradiction with prior statements?
I've undone User:Krimpet's early closure. DRV debates are normally closed after 5 days; while some can certainly be closed sooner due to snow consensus, this is not the case, as the verdict was "a complete lack of consensus" for either solution. And, as User:Krimpet voiced "delete" in the AfD in question, I don't think User:Krimpet is in the best position to close this DRV as an endorsement of the deletion result. Also, I'd like to recommend that administrators who have voted keep/delete in the related AfD steer clear of closing this DRV discussion and let an uninvolved administrator close it. Thanks and best regards, - PeaceNT (talk) 07:18, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
And yet you closed the next DRV, despite having expressed an opinion in the article DRV and its talk page. Seems to be a contradiction there, particularly since you closed to overturn despite the lack of consensus either way. Avruchtalk 15:07, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- No contradiction here. Have you ever read her rationale: "Deletion overturned; pages kept in userspace don't meet speedy criterion G4. No prejudice to MfD listing should other issues arise." The deletion of the user subpage was a blatant violation of CSD G4. This rationale is indubitably enforced by policy and bears no reflection of the closer's pov. @pple complain 15:18, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I read the closing note. Its a policy opinion, not a determination of the consensus of the discussion - which is how DRVs are supposed to be closed. My question still stands, though - PeaceNT advised other admins not to close a similar DRV if they had commented in a related discussion, and here she has done that same thing. Avruchtalk 15:22, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
I didn't say you did the same thing as Krimpet - you simply seemed to have contradicted your statement with future actions. Semantically, the DRVs of the article and the userpage version are not connected. I would disagree with any claim that they are not intrinsically linked, however, since the content at issue is the same. Since you don't agree that your action contradicted your above advice, can you explain how you determined consensus in this DRV? Avruchtalk 15:36, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- Consensus is not the outcome obtained from the practice of sheer number counting, or majority vote from a group of editors who have personal aversion to the content. As I said above, the closing rationale was supported by policy in black and white; that is where the consensus is determined. @pple complain 15:44, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- @pple, I was asking PeaceNT for her rationale - not for your guess as to her rationale. Avruchtalk 15:53, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- Replied - PeaceNT (talk) 15:51, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi just want to say congrats on the FA. That's a great article. Hopefuly there are more to come!! I would strongly welcome you at Wikipedia:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers. Please feel free to join. Congratulations ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ $1,000,000? 20:08, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Let me add my congratulations, and special thanks for being uncommonly receptive and pleasant in the FAC discussion. That's precisely how I wish they'd all go—it makes such an enormous difference when the nominator approaches a FAC by actively seeking constructive criticism, instead of taking reviewer's comments as objections to their work. It's really satisfying to work with someone who gets it; thank you! Maralia (talk) 23:10, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Jordan Hasay page
Two questions. One, how did the discussion about possibly deleting the page get resolved? I know it was resolved in favor of keeping it, but how was it that you were able to make the call? I'm interested in the process for basic knowledge of how this all works.
Also, after the call was made you made a major edit to the page that removed the bullet points. While this made it more of a narrative it is actually more difficult to read and comprehend. Why the change?
Thanks . . .
--Fizbin (talk) 00:55, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information on the AfD process and your edits.
- As for the edits, I’d argue that for certain types of bios (and I am thinking bios of athletes) a list of high-level competitive results and awards is the bulk of what makes up the basis of the notable career. Formatting these as a list rather than a narrative paragraph makes it easier for the reader to zero in on what is important. But I could be wrong! :-) --Fizbin (talk) 13:45, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Harry Kelly
Hi Cast, I noticed you made a cut and past move today and turned Harry Kelly into a disambiguation page. I have no concerns about the title of the two pages, but please note that a cut and paste move causes GFDL violation; no worries, I know it's not your intention, just please take care to remember to use the "move" tab in the future (it's easier and quicker as you can move the article along with the talk page! ;)) In cases when the target page already exists, you can still avoid a cut&paste move by asking an admin to delete it for you. :) Happy editing, --PeaceNT (talk) 12:10, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, right, I forgot all about the Move tab in my haste. Thanks for the reminder.--Cast (talk) 15:42, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Deletion Review for Death Roe
An editor has asked for a deletion review of Death Roe. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article, speedy-deleted it, or were otherwise interested in the article, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Black Kite 13:36, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Hallo, this is Vincenzo De Florio, post-doctoral researcher with the University of Antwerp, Belgium. I have noticed that the article about EICASLAB has been marked for deletion. This is just to provide you with my personal feelings about this. We at the UA have been using EICASLAB for some time and consider it a very valuable tool for automatic control design, which differentiates itself from tools such as Matlab for several aspects: its automatic code generation, for instance, produces code that has been used, unmodified, in target platforms such as the COMAU robots. Not a single line of code had to be modified for that. This because EICASLAB incorporates the business logics and allows to create software that is ready for usage. This strong link with the target hardware is coupled with a high level of transparency, which let us make use of complex concepts, methods, and algorithms as abstract building blocks, to manipulate and "play with" freely. I sincerely consider that this page provides useful information and as such should not be deleted. V.deflorio (talk) 15:20, 25 February 2008 (UTC)v.deflorio

Dear PeaceNT, I have noticed that some days ago you inserted the tag "This article or section is written like an advertisement" to the article EICASLAB and invited to review it. Following your suggestion, I tried to eliminate/modify from the article some few sentences. It should be great if you can check now the article EICASLAB and tell me if the modifications I made go in the direction you indicated. Thank you very much for your help. Best regards. I need a little help
you remember me? my pages got erased and you restored them for me. i need a little help from you. it's not about the english wikipedia. its about the telugu wikipedia. have a look at this image. It basically says "Welcome to my user page - C.Chandra Kanth Rao". The image is just for the user's personal gain and is absolutely useless for the encyclopedia. I think it's an unnecessary burden on Wikipedia's servers. is there any wikipolicy that i can use to remove the image? Σαι ( Talk) 00:13, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I had noticed that a while back you handled the AfD for Kaleb Nation and it was decided it should be deleted. I just thought I'd let you know it's back up. Not really sure how it would normally be handled. Thanks, Paxsimius (talk) 19:04, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
