Bot
[edit]There is a talk page that is automatically archived by a bot. It is all archived to Archive 1 but it is getting quite large. How do I change it to archive it to Archive 2? (Which does not exist yet). Earthbendingmaster 17:49, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Never mind. I figured it out. Thanks anyway. Earthbendingmaster 21:53, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thats ok. Is it against policies for a user to create a template for their own use, such as one to put on the bottom of their user, talk, and subpages to provide a link to all their pages? Earthbendingmaster 23:15, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Another thing I didn't know. Thank you. Earthbendingmaster 23:22, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- So I could design it like a template? Earthbendingmaster 03:17, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- Looks like I left you a message right in the middle of archiving. I hope I did not disrupt anything. Thank you. Earthbendingmaster 03:21, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

- After you get to the tenth one, you get tired of pressing colon. I have suggested the merging of an article, with majority support so far. Is there anything else I need to do? Earthbendingmaster 04:28, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

I am still unexperienced with merging. You leave the article thats being merged as a redirect. Is that correct? Earthbendingmaster 04:38, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your support at my request for adminship, which passed today with 42/0/0!
I would like to thank Wizardman for nominating me, Master of Puppets/Talk/Archive/Archive18 and everyone else for their support and comments. I'll continue with contributing to the encyclopedia's content (hopefully writing an FA here and there :) and will help out with admin-related tasks which you just entrusted me with. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask! Thanks again, —dima/talk/ 01:51, 26 January 2008 (UTC) |
Relisting AFD's
[edit]Hello, thanks for recently helping clear the backlog at AFD by relisting 2 AFD's: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Talbert W. Swan, II, and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Containerart. In the future, please complete the process, by commenting-out the entry on the original log page and retranscluding the discussion on the current log page. Let me know if you have any questions. [edit]Thanks for participating in my RfA! | ||
Although it failed 43/27/0, I'm happy because the outcome has been very helpful in many meaningful ways. Your support and remarks contributed so much to this. If you followed my RfA you know what happened. Most of the editors who posted opposing opinions have never edited with me. Some articles I edit deal with controversial topics and with respect to a very few of these, editors who didn't know much about me had some worries about confrontational editing and civility. Since I support their high standards I can easily (and will gladly) address this. The support and ecouragement to run again soon has been wonderful, thanks again. Cheers! Help Me: User Watch List
[edit]{{helpme}}
Is there any limit as to how far back I can go and view changes / edits made to articles on my Watch List? I see that the "My Preferences" settings has a max of 1,000 (I think?) for the WatchList tab under My Preferences. Is that it --- I can only see the last 1,000 changes and no more? Or is there a way to view the 1,001st (etc.) and further back changes? Thanks. (Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 20:48, 27 January 2008 (UTC))
- Hmmm, mine lets me see the last 1559 by default. However, if you click the "all" button next to the "show" row, it should display all the pages you have on the watchlist. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP!☺ 20:53, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- To clarify, the part you may want to click is in bold (Watch out though, it'll cause your browser to lag):
- Below are the last 1,561 changes, as of 20:54, 27 January 2008.
- Show last 1 | 2 | 6 | 12 hours 1 | 3 | 7 days all
- Show bot edits | Hide my edits | Hide minor edits
- Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP!☺ 20:55, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. But, isn't the "all" simply my 1,000 max? Please reply at my Talk Page. Thanks. (Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 00:16, 28 January 2008 (UTC))
- My settings are: Max number of days to show in watchlist: 3, and max number of changes to allow: 250. I don't think there's a max on how many pages you can have in your watchlist; every page that you watch should get in without a problem. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP!☺ 00:20, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- My settings say this. Maximum number of days to show in watchlist: 7 ... and ... Maximum number of changes to show in expanded watchlist: 1000. So, I am assuming that the number of 1,000 is the most (max) number of changes that they can show and that I can see. (In my case, 1000 ... in your case, 250.) I am not asking about the max number of pages that I can have on my Watch List. That is a wholly separate issue. Let me know. Thanks. Please reply at My Talk Page. Thanks. (Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 00:24, 28 January 2008 (UTC))
- Well, the max number of changes you're able to see should be all of the pages on your list, I think. I'm not sure what the max value is in preferences, though. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP!☺ 00:29, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- OK. Thanks for your help. (Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 00:45, 28 January 2008 (UTC))

KColorEdit
[edit]KColorEdit is a part of Extragear package software, although extragear don't have the same schedule release of KDE package it a important piece of the KDE project. This little application is a utility to create and edit palettes (it works with KDE palettes and GNOME too), there's not a similar software in KDE, so many people use it with GIMP and other utility like Krita to edit and create their own images, I think this application could be help this people, that's why I had to work on this article.
Also, Could you notify me about another KDE tool that can manage this kind of topics KDE and Colors?
Please don't underestimate this tool, all the software have their own complexity and function, not because isn't a famous name means that isn't a help.

Problem with warning templates
[edit]When we revert vandalism by someone who already received a level 4 warning, any other warnings make it seem like, "Oh, we didn't really mean it when we said that was your last warning," like the parent who says, "This is the last time I'm going to tell you" five times before taking action. What about something like this:[1]. I'd like some feedback on this as a possible template for non-admins to use when they revert past a level 4 warning. Thanks. Doczilla (talk) 10:16, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback. You definitely gave me some things to think about. Of the handful of AIV-experienced people I checked with, I got 4 yeas and 3 nays -- a majority favoring it but certainly not a consensus. Of course, something like this doesn't have to appeal to everybody. I guess I'll run this by people who check the talk page for the Wikipedia:WikiProject user warnings. Thanks again. Doczilla (talk) 03:14, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- WPT:AIV is a good thought. And yeah, you've definitely got some good points. I see where it would be completely redundant if AIV consistently worked as smoothly and quickly as possible and nobody was out there posting warnings after a level 4 warning. I'm just trying to think of some alternative and was interested in objective feedback. That's why I contacted AIV-experienced users who weren't in my usual circle of Wiki-buddies. Best, Doczilla (talk) 03:35, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- By WPT:AIV, I assume you mean Wikipedia talk:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Doczilla (talk) 03:38, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm just trying to think of some alternative and was interested in objective feedback. That's why I contacted AIV-experienced users who weren't in my usual circle of Wiki-buddies. Late vote at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/EncMstr
[edit]I did close it at 00:06 - you can see the close immediately before the vote. The times are the same, and as closing doesn't affect the support section, I suspect there was no edit conflict. I've got no great objection to reinstating the vote while indenting it with an appropriate comment, although I believe that in the past, late votes have always simply been reverted. Re: Infobox former country
[edit]Thanks for finally helping me. Just so you know, I do know how to use these templates properly. The problems I have are:
- I can't include a second flag (two colonizers, two flags for one territory) in the template instead of the coat of arms.
- I can't get the empire variable to register two colonizing countries instead of just one.
- How do I get the government_type variable to link to Condominium (international law) instead of just Condominium without having the "(international law)" bit displayed on the finished template - the standard way of doing this doesn't seem to be recognized.
- It doesn't recognize a territory being a colony of two countries - if you enter colony (which was what it was) into the status variable, you get "Colony of (name)." I want the page categorized properly, but not the text on the template to go with it.

RE:
[edit]Thanks for the note. What can I do about a user who refuses to discuss large content changes? Who do I speak to? I've asked him to please consulte other editors before making his huge changes, and he declines to do so. He's tagging things claiming they are empty, when they still have two subcats. He asserts they have been empty for 4 days, when in reality, he just made his change 24 hours ago. Depopulating well supported categories isn't considered Vandalism? Benkenobi18 (talk) 07:22, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. Sorry for going through the wrong channels.Benkenobi18 (talk) 07:40, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- He's a fine editor. His original response, the first time that he did this, was "nothing that implies the existance of the legal fiction of Great Britain should be permitted to stay up." That was his justification for deleting the category the first time. I restored it and I quoted it, he just deleted the category again, so I don't know if his original comment is still available or not. Benkenobi18 (talk) 07:55, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, found it on the google cache.
- Seeing as this category was deleted once, I'd like it to stay. I understand that the folk who like scotland would rather not have a joined one, but honestly, I find it much easier to find all the diocese articles like this. This category was emptied once, if someone has a problem with this category, I'd like them to please discuss it with me on the talk page. Benkenobi18 (talk) 01:42, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Great Britain is neither 1) a state nor 2) a meaningful division in the Catholic church. The existence of the category serves no purpose other than to perpetuate and propagate the confusion of its author. It has nothing to do with nationalism either (always a favourite accusation to throw around), as I'd have no problem with Category:Roman Catholic dioceses in the United Kingdom (though it should not be a supercat, as it is state descriptive category not an RC division), but Great Britain is pointless unless one opens a new supercat Roman Catholic dioceses by island. RE:
[edit]I don't know how to get this user to stop. Almost everything he says in defense of his creations is either inaccurate or or irrelevant. He reverts my reversions of him and goes running around accusing me of vandalism. Oh my, I even created four articles just to appease the guy when he decided all by himself that the historical and modern catholic Scottish dioceses with the same name should be split, and then he came to my talk page complaining of all the work I'd given him by reverting him on other articles he'd been altering. He's already been told his edits aren't acceptable by other users, one of whom is also reverting him ... he's just not being reverted generally by anyone but me. If you open the discussion up ... and I've seen no reason to go to that effort for a misguided lone user ... you'll almost certainly find that everyone will oppose his edits. I think the guy needs some serious coaching about how wikipedia works, but atm my internet connection is very unreliable and I have other things to do. You'll see on his talk page though why his edits are simply wrong; he's forwarding a category and template that looks official, but isn't; doubling up two templates, supercategorizing, and placing a non-existent category between two real ones. Doubtless he's gonna go around so many admins accusing me of vandalism that, knowing my luck, after I get back from my connection cutting (as it surely will shortly), I'll probably see a block or warning from someone for vandalism, 3rr or edit warring. Bah! Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 21:43, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Please tell me then the proper place to report the racist vandalism such as I was reporting. The stuff they are inserting is nonfactual not to mention completely biased and hopelessly in violation of the NPOV standard. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 1948remembered (talk • contribs) 23:32, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I have little hope of finding an "open mind", most have openly racist listings (like notations on "israeli apartheid" or support for terrorist genocide groups) on their pages.
Also FYI, something in your page format here is messed up, I can see no "edit this" listing and my text appears to scroll past the scrollable side of the page. I do not know what is causing it but I had to click "edit this page" and scroll all the way down to put this response here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 1948remembered (talk • contribs) 23:46, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Re 1948remembered
[edit]It's not a content issue. He was blanking 13,000+ bytes over and over again despite warnings and without discussion. Once it was blanked, he went about changing the first sentence to refer to "geneocidal" and "armies of Islam" type blabber. I'm sorry, but this is not a content dispute. It's pure vandalism. Some advice, from AGK
[edit]Congratulations on your recent acquisition of the mop. I offer to you a few words of wisdom:
- Start slowly and carefully. There's a huge temptation to start flying through your new duties as soon as the 'crat pushes the button - resist it. Avoid close calls for your first week or two, and leave it to those who happened to get their tools a little earlier than you.
- Be sure to connect in with other users on IRC, if you can. There's a whole pool of channels there where you can get assistance in your newly-acquired buttons, and get your new colleagues used to your name.
- Be ready for criticism in your first few weeks, but at the same time don't be a push-over. If you feel worried over a decision, get another user to take a look at it.
- When blocking, ask yourself if everything you've entered into that form will benefit Wikipedia: is the block length sufficiently long to prevent further disruption by a vandal, or is it so long that it will put them off ever returning? Is your protection just going to be a minor hiccup in the edit warrior's grand scheme of disruption, or will it hinder the growth of the encyclopedia?
Best of luck with your new buttons, and don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries.

Start topic
[edit]Just a note on the article Start topic. I thought it was pretty clear the person was trying to write about the Tower of Terror ride at Disneyworld [5], so I declined the speedy. After I declined it, you deleted the article as I was checking for the existence of a properly titled article (which is here). If another admin has already declined the speedy (which you'll see if you check the history before deleting), it's usually best to drop them a quick note if you disagree. No harm done in this case, as I would have deleted it as an unlikely redirect -- just want to give you a friendly heads up before a serious clash happens. :) --Fabrictramp (talk) 20:52, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Master of Puppets, thanks for your email. I was pretty concerned about this edit, which apart from removing most of the talk page is a clear personal attack on another editor. The IP address may be dynamic - the whois information is not clear. If you want to unblock it, I won't object. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that this is a somewhat experienced user given they know how to create a fake signature, and I don't expect to see productive editing from them if they are unblocked. Even dynamic IPs usually have long-ish cycle times, usually in excess of 24 hours. Best, Gwernol 23:12, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

A7
[edit]Hi. I was a little surprised that you speedily deleted Golem Relictus as an A7, since it was a videogame. While I agree that it was a valid subject for deletion, which is why I nominated it for AfD, it wasn't an A7 candidate. A7 explicitly indicates that it is for "An article about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant" and notes that "A7 applies only to articles about web content or articles on people and organizations themselves, not articles on their books, albums, software and so on. Other article types are not eligible for deletion by this criterion." Given that this one would have been deleted anyway, it's certainly not worth restoring, but I did want to point this distinction out to you in case you are unaware of it. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:34, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Why not simply let the AfD complete? --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:31, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Okay. :) Again, there's no way I'd argue that this article was appropriate for inclusion. That's why I nominated it for deletion in the first place. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:39, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Mopper, Thank you for helping me on the IRC channel. I used the browser address which you suggested, http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/user_talk:Primehunter.
It enabled me to learn that Primehunter didn't have an account by that name.
Primehunter had posted advice at the Help Desk on publishing an article which impressed me, i.e., putting it on a subpage and requesting experienced editors to look at the article for suggestions prior to publishing it. I have tried to do this, but my problem is, as a newcomer to Wikipedia, Primehunter was the only name I knew.
As a helpful volunteer, would you be willing to make suggestions for my article? In addition, can you suggest a few other knowledgeble volunteers who might be willing to do the same? It is Voiceperson/Ryan Allen.
Thank you.

[edit]Thanks for the tally. I'd thank you for the vote too, but that would be intrusive and premature while you all still have time to realize your error.
Actually, the main reason I felt inspired to comment right now is simply a pointless observation: I love your initials MoP now that you've made admin. Obviously you're fond of them too. Best, Doczilla (talk) 06:36, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Guidance and assistance on Futurekids article
[edit]I'm coming back for offered assistance regarding my failed attempt to post an article on Futurekids. My response has been delayed due to travel. The TALK response indicated that my article was deleted as blatant advertising. Perhaps another person's earlier article met this fate (by Sean Whitton). Sean was not the person who deleted my effort. I'm unable to find my deletion to relate the specifics, but I do not believe it was the article that Sean killed.
Using Google Docs, I have posted my article in public to enable you to comment and to help build consensus: http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=dvg4g8t_33gg5rdvf8&hl=en.
The article was prepared with Wikipedia rules by my side. Since it meets the criteria for Notability (in my opinion), is citation-rich, contains many related links (including internal Wikipedia links), and has researched references, I don't see up front where it fails to meet criteria.
I'm committed to Wikipedia and will take guidance and mentoring gladly. Please take a few moments to look at the actual article and advise changes to achieve publication.
My gratitude for any help you can offer,
Murry --Murry1 (talk) 21:33, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

The Loose Cannons
[edit]I do not understand your criteria for deleting my contribution. The Loose Cannons won a SONY AWARD for their radio show on Kiss which is the UK's most popular Dance music station.
As far as I can see this satisfies the criteria of wikipedias musicians page definitions.
I can also cite plenty of press about them which is not PR blurb. The content I created was verifiable. Please explain to me once again how you draw your conclusions. thankyou isobeleve —Preceding unsigned comment added by Isobeleve (talk • contribs) 01:35, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Spore warring (again)
[edit]Hi MoP, I'd hate to burden you again with this silly (and unnecessary) conflict, but once again, JAF1970 is ignoring all of my comments and has created separate articles for both the DS and Mobile versions of Spore (incidentally, both articles consist of nothing more than copy/pasted information from the main article). I feel that the DS/Mobile versions lack notability, as any information pertaining to those versions can be contained within the main Spore article. I haven't contested the fact that the DS/Mobile versions of the game will indeed vary vastly from the PC version (as is the case with most video games that are ported to less powerful consoles), but he just won't listen. Now he's accusing me of vandalism again. Is there anything you can do to help ease the situation? Thanks. Sillygostly (talk) 02:25, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have tried. But no matter how much I try to get through to him, JAF1970 just NEVER listens. Surely there must be some way to resolve this "conflict" because he simply won't listen to me, as he refuses make any compromises whatsoever. Sillygostly (talk) 04:35, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- I too, got into an edit war with JAF about the "Spore Wii" mess today. He will not listen to anyone at all, instead demanding people go to other articles (including Development of Spore) to make changes he doesn't like, and in general just being rather rude. The article has henceforth been locked due to my leaving a snippy comment in an edit summary... So pending a consensus with us and JAF it's done for a week or so. I fear that JAF's idea of a consensus will be that we all go away and stop editing "his" article, though. KiTA (talk) 22:30, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hey MoP. You may remember me from such articles as Spore (video game). anyhow, I come to you today for assistance with Xbox 360 technical problems, IP 65.25.98.202 continues to use it for advertising. I've laid down 4 warnings already as you can see. Please investigate and take whatever action you feel appropriate, whether be it page protection or edit block. Vandalism to Anno Domini
[edit]I disagree with your assessment that recent edits to Anno Domini which claim that A.D. stands for "After Death" is merely a content dispute, rather than vandalism. For about a month, various IP editors and at least two new registerd users persistently, about 4 times per week, insert this absurd claim. I believe this is a deliberate provocation of the editors who try to keep this article in decent shape.
If you doubt the claim is absurd, consider this: B.C. means "before Christ". Jesus is generally thought — among those who think he existed at all — to have lived around 30 years. A.D. is purported to mean "after death". This leaves about 30 years with no numbers, and a discontinuity of about 30 years between 1 B.C. and A.D. 1. This explaination is provided in the article, with a reference. --Gerry Ashton (talk) 03:37, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
vandalism-only
[edit]Hi - thanks for the note. You're right, I missed the first three edits back in April 2007 by the IP which may or may not have been the same person (but were not seen as constructive edits either). There have been no other edits until the last day or so, and what I was seeing were the eleven edits made now, all clearly by the same person, vandalizing a bunch of articles. Technically not "all" vandalism, so I'll be more careful with the terminology, but certainly someone who is here to disrupt. I hope the block makes him think. Tvoz |talk 04:40, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yup, I agree about not biting. This guy deserved at least a nip, however, thanks to his insistence on inserting "douchey fag" wherever he could, ranting inappropriately about superdelegates, and in particular here and here where he's personally attacking me in a particularly ignorant way. I actually hadn't noticed the content of those last 2 until now - so forgive me for not worrying about his sensibilities! Anyway.... nice to meet you. Tvoz |talk 04:55, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
The Problem
[edit]The problem with the user is that he refuses to discuss and he's treating this like I am vandalizing the article. I am trying to keep the article as GA and maybe as a possible future FL. The user doesn't see the purpose for the images, which are obvious to me and others, so he unilaterally removes them without discussion. --STX 05:49, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Christopher Dodd campaign
[edit]User:WilyD is an admin who has also been removing the random images like I did. This has been discussed several months ago with the conclusion that the random images should be removed, so no new discussions necessary. The GA status was passed without the random images (see version January 20, 2008). --Vera from upstairs (talk) 06:01, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- The actions of an outside administrator does not determine consensus and unlike you he did not remove them all. The article was created with the images in hope that the article would ultimately be GA and/or FL. The images illustrate the lists and through their captions link to different articles on wikipedia (a purpose of lists). The article has two main editors and both approve of the images and understand their purpose and the encyclopedic content they add to the article. You are being disruptive by refusing to discuss proving you just want to edit war and cause problems. --STX 06:17, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

*cough* archive *cough* Also, AIV reports
[edit]Hey there! Thanks for your AIV report. I'm just dropping by to give you a friendly reminder about IPs and vandalism. Remember, an IP address can be dynamic or shared, and is rarely used by just one person. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP!☺ 01:43, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- I hope your cough gets better. And for some strange reason, I have an urge to archive my talk page. As to this particular IP address, while I cannot confirm that the address is static, the pattern of edits are all to an exceedingly small number of articles. There had been about two dozen edits from this address, none of which appeared constructive, and all of which appeared to be from the same individual. This did not appear to be one bad apple among several productive users. It was only under these circumstances that I would make a "vandalism only" claim on AIV. Decker Brothers speedy deletion
[edit]Hey MoP, I was in the process of checking out Decker Brothers and noticed it was tagged as contested {{hangon}}, so I went to contact the creator and Google the name. A Google search immediately came up with hits about 19th C pianos and decals for use in restoration. I went back to remove the tag and found you had deleted it. I think the subject is in fact notable and ought to be restored. By the way, I noticed nobody had notified the creator (or even ever welcomed him). If you restore the article I will try to help the newbie develop this into a meaningful stub at least and tag the article {{inuse}} for a couple days. deleting the Decker Bros article
[edit]I'm confused why you deleted this article. I agree that it was just a stub, but I was continuing to modify it and make it more thorough. Why does the article have to show its own significance? I enjoy reading articles in Wikipedia about things just for the information. Are you saying that an article describing one of the best piano manufacturers in the 19th Century isn't worth being in Wikipedia. Problem with Another User
[edit]Hello! If you get a chance, could you please review the changes over the past several days on the Hancock Stadium article? The user Mach3moe insists on inserting a line into the "History" section about "years of ineffective leadership," which is A) inflammatory and B) unable to be cited from a reputable source. I firmly believe that my edits have been in the best interests of the article and Wikipedia as a whole. I have tried diplomacy (see my comments on the user's talk page), I have tried a gentle reminder with further explaination, and now I feel that I have no other option but to bring the situation to the attention of an Administrator. As you can see by my edit history, I have been a solid contributor to Wikipedia and I do not engage in edit wars. I would like for my reputation to remain as such, which is why I feel that it is best that someone intervene here.
Thank you!

Curious as to why you did something
[edit]Hi,
I responded to Mastcell earlier today about a user who I believe was treated poorly despite WP:BITE. I think the worst admin in this case was Yamla, followed by Mastcell.
The case is on the AN/I here: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents#Collective_punishment
The user talk page in question here: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:ForeverFreeSpeech
I commend you for writing to the user and asking them not to take things personally, but I'm confused as to why you would put a denial on their unblock request while at the same time offering an unblock. After reading the affair it appears to me that the approach by the other admins (especially Yamla, who denied the first request within 3 minutes of its being made, not nearly long enough to properly analyze such a request) was poor.
In particular, I agree with the analysis of the timing of Mastcell's block. As the warning and the "final revert" for which Mastcell blocked were made at the same minute according to wikipedia time stamp, it's entirely possible the user had not seen Mastcell's warning. Mastcell's quickness to block did nothing to help an already agitated situation, especially as Mastcell was ever so quick to block and yet demanded the user "allow reasonable time for a response" regarding talk page responses that the user complained were lacking on the article in question.
I note that at this time, a User:Eleland inserted themselves into the content conflict, but there is still no response at the talk page in question: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Collective_punishment. This will undoubtedly cause problems with the user, who appears to be trying to fix the article to NPOV standards in good faith. If they are being required to go to the talk page, but other users are freely edit warring against them and ignoring the talk page with no warning, what are they to think about the matter?
At this time I am not going to revert that page, but I suggest that User:ForeverFreeSpeech should probably be unblocked as apology for the bad block and that User:Eleland should probably be informed to go to the talk page. I personally am going to put a template regarding the page's contested status up.
As a side note, I do not see why specific attacks upon Israel merit such a large portion of the article. I think this is more a function of two very hotly contesting sides of an issue spreading out across Wikipedia as a battleground, and that the whole thing would probably do best either removed or footnoted to a relevant section of Israeli-Palestinian conflict instead. We probably should remember that Wikipedia:NOT#Wikipedia_is_not_a_soapbox and apply that to the article.

redirect of Ester Boserup
[edit]hello, as i said i am a beginner so i do not get it all right sometimes. but how can a wrongly spelled redirection be of any good to anyone looking for the page? it really ought to be made right again. as it was for years anyway. the redirection was doubtless an act of vandalism. ????? thanks for calling ludo86 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ludo86 (talk • contribs) 09:05, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
