Team logo gallery
Is the logo gallery at Portland Trail Blazers#Team branding allowed? I seem to remember that MOS did not allow that but I cannot find the guideline/policy about that. – Sabbatino 03:01, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Sabbatino: Since none of the images being used are non-free content, they wouldn't be subject to WP:NFCCP; thus, things like WP:NFG and WP:NFC#cite_note-4 aren't applicable. Logo galleries of PD or freely licensed images don't seem to be expressly prohibited by either MOS:LOGO or WP:NOTGALLERY (discouraged in some cases perhaps but not prohibited) as long as they're encyclopedically relevant to the reader. Of course, how one defines "encyclopedically relevant" might vary from person to person, but that is more like an image related content dispute that probably needs to be determined through article talk page discussion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:17, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
Question from ST03021 (12:02, 10 September 2022)
how to change is to was? --ST03021 (talk) 12:02, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi ST03021. Do you want to change "is" to "was" in some article? What's the article's name? Making such a change is fairly straightforward, but in some Wikipedia articles the past tense "was" isn't used even though it might seem like it would be natural to do so. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:28, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
Question from Herdyb (06:49, 15 September 2022)
Hello. Tell me more about editing in Wikipedia --Herdyb (talk) 06:49, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Herdyb: I've added a "welcome" template that contains blue link to various Wikipedia pages that help explain what the project is about and how to participate in it. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:51, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
Question from MysteriousEditer (23:46, 7 September 2022)
Hello, is there any way I can change my username? Also, I've had some trouble editing, sometimes it says something about red? If you could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Many thanks. --MysteriousEditer (talk) 23:46, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi MysteriousEditer. You can find out how to request a username change at Wikipedia:Changing username; you can't do it yourself, but you can ask someone who can to do it for you. As for you other question, I'm not sure what you mean by
it says something about red
. If you can further clarify what you mean, then maybe someone will be able to help you. Finally, please don't make anymore edits like this again because it's not a constructive edit no matter how you may try to frame it. Do something like that once, and maybe you receive a mild warning; keep on doing stuff like that and you're likely going to end being blocked by an administrator. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:03, 8 September 2022 (UTC)- Thank you so much. i owe you. Thank you
Just thought I'd clarify, while I realize this comment was directed at a particular editor and their situation, I sent a public thank you on this revision because I found your explanation to be useful. Thanks for being thorough in your explanation, so that other users like myself can refer back to it as a reference/starting point for learning more.
