Undeletion request
-- Luk talk 14:56, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Temporary block?
Could you place a temporary block on 108.25.118.22 ? The user is spamming the Sandbox with pointless edits, quite a few of them I'm pretty sure are vandalisms. I left my oats on your desk. - Sir Pawridge (talk) 20:14, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Wikipedia Ambassador Program is looking for new Online Ambassadors
Hi! Since you've been identified as an Awesome Wikipedian, I wanted to let you know about the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, and specifically the role of Online Ambassador. We're looking for friendly Wikipedians who are good at reviewing articles and giving feedback to serve as mentors for students who are assigned to write for Wikipedia in their classes.
If you're interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors during the current term, which started in January and goes through early May. If that's something you want to do, please apply!
You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE.
I hope to hear from you soon.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 19:44, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
Block question
Can you explain your reasoning for this block? Our efforts were probably simultaneous, as your block was only four minutes after my posting of checkuser results, so I'm just wondering if you reached a different conclusion based on the same (or maybe different) evidence. Deleted page
Hi, I know it's been a long time but I just checked on an entry for Ron de Moraes and saw that it had been deleted due to "blatant copyright infringement" of IMDB. The biography in IMDB was written by me and not IMDB. It can be seen at my web site <www.directedby.tv> for verification. Below is the notification that it was deleted. Thank you.

File:Clark's Sector Model.png
Hallo Luk, could you please see at the deleted file and transfer missing info to Commons? The transfer seems to be incomplete. No author, no original source. And please check the license - it was missing too. File:Clark's Sector Model.png Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 03:43, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- There's not much more there, I've updated the original author, but since it was released under PD, this was not really needed. -- Luk talk 07:29, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you! I have completed the page now. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 14:45, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Your guts were right, you should have filed that SPI report ;). Something was bothering me so I looked it up and I have commented there. Thanks! -- Luk talk 14:13, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help. I once was good at this (vandal-fighting), but I went on a long hiatus (3 years or so), and only recently came back. I'm still a little rusty when it comes to certain aspects of policy and whatnot. Thanks again! Gscshoyru (talk) 14:20, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
Deletion of LeonSoft user's page.
Dear Luk,
I would like to ask you, why have you deleted our user's page because of G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion using TW? Our page was intended only as an information about another flight planning support software, that is commonly used by aircraft operators around the world. The list of such companies is available here: Flight planning in Flight Planning Providers section. Many of these companies have much more detailed pages on Wiki and they are not banned. As we are providing similar solutions, we would like to be present on that list. Besides, I suppose, that this is important to keep information stored on Wiki most accurate and complete. So, please take a look at our page again and let us know, what should be changed in order to add information about our system to Wiki.
Best regards, Leon Software team — Preceding unsigned comment added by LeonSoft (talk • contribs) 12:41, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message.
- I think I have made a mistake, by adding information about our flight planning system on our user's page. It was intended to be a separate page connected with aviation and flight planning categories, as well as company infos of other flight planning software developers, listed on Flight planning page. I am new on Wiki, and I do not 'feel' the way it works yet. I have just discovered tool named Sandbox. Should I use it for building and testing of a new info page before publishing? We do not want treat Wiki as a web host. We have our own, commercial web page. We just want to add to Wiki info about another flight planning software, as the other companies did. I will be grateful for all your help about how to do this with compliance with Wiki rules.
- Thank you,

SuperAntiSpyware / Superantispyware
Hi, in 2008 the SuperAntiSpyware page was deleted, restored and deleted again a few times. I presume it was considered spam with no references. I noticed that there is now a Superantispyware page. Difference in capitalisation, but probably the same page. Just thought I would leave a note in the event that this page has the same problems as the original. --TenguTech(Talk) 12:56, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
- Good catch! I created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Superantispyware (2nd nomination) to help sort this out. -- Luk talk 10:05, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- I was adding links to sponsors that had a page on the Gnomedex (conference) page, and found the different capitalisations of SAS. --TenguTech(Talk) 05:56, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- Meh, people seem to be willing to keep that one... I'll never understand the AfD mechanics fully :). You should probably voice your opinion there. -- Luk talk 16:22, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

interview request
Hello, My name is Natalia Olaru and I am a final year master student in the Corporate Communication programme at the Aarhus School of Business in Denmark. I am currently working on my final paper on the topic of the motivation of users to create content on collaborative media websites, the focus being Wikipedia. As a sample I chose the English and Danish portals. I would like to invite you for an online interview on the topic of what motivates you, as a user, to participate in editing and creating articles for this platform. Your real identity, and wikipedia account will be kept confidential through the paper. I plan on doing the actual interviews in the period between 6st and the 15th of May via Skype, MSN, Google Talk or Yahoo Messenger. I am, however, open to other channels of communication too. Please let me know if you would like to participate in this interview and the preferred channel. Thank you, Natalia Olaru Email: natalia.ioana.olaru@gmail.com --MulgaEscu (talk) 12:34, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Old range block
Luk, can you remember the details behind this rangeblock? A user has requested review and has noted that the range has been reassigned sometime within the last few years. The discussion is here. Kuru (talk) 13:28, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- Nope, sorry. That's apparently not a CU investigation. In doubt, let's unblock it, the block is old enough. -- Luk talk 13:58, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

User blocked
Hi, I'm sorry to disturb you.
I've just joined Wikipedia and tried to unify my account in order to upload a picture on WikiCommons. This was denied to me because - as far as I could understand - you have blocked someone with my very same username back in 2007.
I hope you trust me I'm not that account. Could you please help me? I'm really a newbie and I don't get around easily.
Thank you for your time and I hope I didn't write to you wrongfully.
Kind regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.43.42.67 (talk) 12:30, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, can you please give me the username that you are trying to use? In general (and if the user did nothing before getting blocked), renaming can be performed by some users called bureaucrats. You can read Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations for more instructions. Good luck! -- Luk talk 13:54, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- I can't find a reply button I guess/suppose I'll have to edit this one. First thing first, thanks for the quick answer. The account I'm trying to use is "amcham" registered on the Italian Wikipedia. Can you help me on this one? Thank you again — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.43.42.67 (talk) 14:15, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- Mmm... This is a tough one... I am not versed enough on our policies to tell you if that rename can be granted, but this is worth a shot. However, since your account was created today only, it is very possible that they will tell you to choose an other username (I personally have a different username here and on other projects, due to conflicts).
- In any case, the best place to ask is either on Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations (please read very carefully, there are special rules for unifying accounts), or the corresponding discussion page: Wikipedia talk:Changing username/Usurpations.
- Good luck! -- Luk talk 14:52, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

I also asked this in the Talk: Organic Soundball page. Why did you delete the page for that album? It is not a bootleg album, but a promo CD.

Hello. You protected Heath Ledger 6003 days ago. Since WP:RFPP points out it is almost always a good idea to ask the protecting admin first, I thought I'd check with you about removing the protection. Thanks in advance. 72.244.206.172 (talk) 01:06, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Unified login
"Unified login: Lucasbfr is the unique login of this user for all public Wikimedia projects." ← This probably needs to be updated. ;-) I saw you pop up on my watchlist today. I didn't realize you were still active on-wiki. Are you on IRC much? We should catch up! --MZMcBride (talk) 17:28, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
- Nah, in fact, my unified login is indeed lucasbfr, there's a fr:User:Luk that has the right to the login and we came to an agreement (I would take Luk here and he would keep Luk everywhere else) ;). I'm mostly inactive today, but I still like to hang around once a while (today was a slow day at work ^^). I should definitely reinstall IRC to catch up with you guys! -- Luk talk 19:30, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Removal of Edit
Hi Luk,
I added information on http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Sri_Lankan_Tamil_people under the "End of the civil war" page.
You removed this content with the response that it is bias information.
The post as it stands is already very bias. It states that Tamil Sri Lankans are going to Canada and are funding the Tamils in Sri Lanka to support the war. How is something like this allowed to be posted, yet my post removed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.144.168.98 (talk) 10:12, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
- Replied on this user's talk page - 10:26, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Luk. I understand why my post has been removed.
I would like to raise your attention to the "End of the Civil War" section of the above page. This is also non-neutral and does not contain any reference to secondary sources to support the view.
Can you please remove this also? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.144.168.98 (talk) 10:38, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
Request for deleted page text
“Luk”:
My name is Robert and I am new to writing/editing for Wikipedia. Your name was listed as someone I could ask about retrieving the text from a deleted article.
I was wondering if you could provide the text from the deleted page on “Brainware” (it’s a business software company). I’m not sure how this works, so if there’s something you need from me, please ask.
Thank you very much.
