Problems with upload of File:Tekken 6 Lili.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tekken 6 Lili.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. Welcome to Wikipedia. I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you to seek consensus for certain edits. Thank you. --IllaZilla (talk) 17:35, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:311 Love Song.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:311 Love Song.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 13:05, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Jade_MK9.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. feydey (talk) 15:04, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please assume some good faith

[edit]

The problem with articles like Elena is that sometimes sources end up overlooked no matter what...but it doesn't help that nobody actually bothers to put those sources up until the article is being merged or they actively care about it. The one you did work into there though did have something of significance to say at least, and fleshing things out did make the reception section better.

Now if we can do the same for Lili I think we'll all be happy. :\--Kung Fu Man (talk) 03:55, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In Ling Xiaoyu, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Tekken (film) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your recent editing history at Green Day shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. December 2013

[edit]

Hi there. When working on articles, please try to adhere to WP:BRD - you "Boldly" added the info to the article, I Reverted those changes, and so next is to Discuss on the talk page. This is how issues are supposed to be solved, not through continually re-adding it into the article (you've added it 3 times now).

This is actually how we're always supposed to do it, but its even worse when there's clear discussion on the talk page that goes against your edits. Please join in this discussion rather than continually reverting and arguing through edit summaries, and change it only if there's consensus to do so. Thanks! Sergecross73 msg me 20:13, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Its common for bands that either span many genre, or have many disputes on their genre, to list only one genre in the infobox, and then list out a bunch more in the "musical style" section. (See something like Smashing Pumpkins, which does this well, or Breaking Benjamin, which is a bit sloppier/more direct example of it.) Pretty certain that's what we were working towards Shinedown's talk page, because people are continually tinkering with adding removing all sorts of genre, some more right/wrong than others. That's why we're telling you to talk it out on the discussion page. Two editors object to your changes, so its definitely necessary to discuss. Sergecross73 msg me 19:03, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Look, any time there's anything in contention, you discuss it, so stop complaining about how there's nothing to talk about. Wikipedia is a combination of what reliable sources say and what consensus dictates - its a two part, joint thing. You've only got one of those under wraps. Thus, there's something to discuss.
That being said, maybe you could have a point. But bring it to the article's talk page, so there can be discussion between more people than just me and you. Also, focus more on why exactly its so important that alt metal is included. Like I said, maybe you have a point, but you still really haven't even explained why, you just keep on giving "why not?" arguments. Sergecross73 msg me 20:13, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Hey there

[edit]

Yeah, I particularly hate how fickle WP:VG's opinions on notability seem to be because that keeps us from setting precedents. I mean, hell, even if an article I've poured my very being into gets redirected, I want to at least be able to keep a very clear bijective standard that can be referenced later because of it, i.e. "If you have this, this, and this, it's notable. If you don't, it isn't." With as little ambiguity as possible.

Regardless, thanks for keeping an eye on the discussions. I don't edit music articles as much as I have, but I can still check that out later. Tezero (talk) 22:53, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re: GA review

[edit]

I'll try to take a look at some point. I'd recommend making sure you have a good sense of the GA criteria before reviewing Underground, though. Tezero (talk) 02:57, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Underground is at GAN now. If you think you're ready to review it, go ahead, and if you don't, don't. It's your call. Tezero (talk) 22:21, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Yeah, the Tony Hawk series is overlooked among WP:VG considering how popular it is outside (which was actually a lot of why I got into Sonic, Digimon, and Lego Star Wars II here), and Underground is likely my favorite game of all time, so I had immense motivation to work. Actually, since these discussions I'm waiting on aren't going anywhere at the moment, I may pick up another hopeful GA. Tezero (talk) 02:59, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I own Pro Skater 1, 3, and HD and American Wasteland as well as Underground, but I too largely hopped off the train at Proving Ground (which I sold, in late '08 or so) because of the abysmal Wii controls. I'd like to try the others sometime, but as for actually buying the ones with peripherals, I don't think so.
Anyway, it disappoints me, but the more general discussions aren't going anywhere; I bang my head proverbially against the wall every time someone says "just look at the GNG". As for the specifics, it looks like Shadow and Rouge are staying, Big will probably close as no consensus (maybe merge), and Silver's as good as gone. But yes, I still will be leaving for a while as soon as the discussions I'm involved in all close - at least a week, maybe much longer. Tezero (talk) 19:08, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it's too bad, really; it just teaches the project that the rest of Wikipedia doesn't care what it does - which frustrates me specifically because it encourages them to keep up double standards and such. I guess there's nothing I can do without drawing anger for not just "letting it die", though. So it goes.
Anyway, I hadn't looked since you first asked me, but I think I'll take up the GA review. I see a couple of minor issues, but nothing too serious yet. Tezero (talk) 19:34, 7 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please try to contribute, then. czar's starting to act like it's me alone wasting everyone else's time, and maybe you'll come up with powerful arguments I haven't. Oh, and I'll take a look at Paramore now. Tezero (talk) 23:33, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be appropriate for me to pass the GAN if the other reviewer who jumped in hasn't given approval? Tezero (talk) 22:26, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine. I'll pass it if he hasn't responded to your ping or mine by tomorrow. Tezero (talk) 00:41, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Genre war...

[edit]

We shouldn't start an edit war over those genres. But the fact is that pop rock is the only genre included in the sheet music, all the other genres are opinions of the critics. However, if you do insist in including them, just add new jack swing, which is missing. — prism 15:45, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

American Idiot Parental Advisory

[edit]

I really dont understand how saying and proving that the Green Day album American Idiot has a parental advisory label should be removed for the reason of being "Trivial"

Im not blind man! I can see the sticker on the the back of the album right here! I can here them say the F word multiple times on the album. Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

[edit]
Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week for your long-term efforts to help new editors. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

Editor Yash! submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

I am pleased to nominate Kokoro20 to be Editor of the Week. Kokoro20 has been editing Wikipedia since December of 2007, though his active contributions began only after April, 2011. So they have been working majorly during the last four years with their edits focusing on punk rock and alternative rock articles. Despite having a low edit count, they have helped promote at least three GAs and have been silently contributing to a great many other GAs. Their work focuses on updating and keeping the facts right on a vast number of articles. It looks simple, but it really isn't if you do that to as many articles as Kokoro20 has been doing for this span of years. As far as I see, they have never been awarded a barnstar so let's not make all that work go unappreciated.

You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

One of the benefits of facilitating the Eddy award is that I get to meet quality editors like you. Too many veteran editors spend too much time at the various drama-laden pages of Wikipedia. They rarely take the time to see the hard working editors that fly under the radar of contention and strife and they begin to look at WP as one argument after another. Editors like you are the heartbeat of Wikipedia. Thanks for all you do. Happy New Year. Buster Seven Talk 17:26, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The source that I had there (I thought) only said experimental in the prose of the review; did I miss it? Last I checked, it only said "experimental rock" in the source right under the release date, i.e., the following situation:

@Yash!: Hey there. I'm doing okay. Yeah, I've heard about this new Green Day single (I can't wait to hear the song itself). I will try and see what I can do for its article soon.
To be honest, I need to do more actual work on articles again. Most of my edits lately have been reverts. Kokoro20 (talk) 05:41, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"Bang Bang" and Revolution Radio are in need of expansion. There are a lot of sources which can be used and I am planning on getting around it tonight. Perhaps you can start with them. Yash! 10:36, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've cleaned up both Lili and Ling's articles; hopefully they're what you had in mind. For good measure I included Lee, for which I gladly accept the egg on my face. :') sixtynine • speak up • 02:53, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

[edit]

Hello, Kokoro20. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A cheeseburger for you!

I just got over with "Bang Bang" and "Still Breathing". I have requested a copy-edit from GOCE and once that is done, I will nominate it for GA. Thank you for monitoring all those pages and keeping them clean - it would not have been as easy without your vigilance. It has been a while and I thought you could use a cheeseburger! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Hard Times (Paramore song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Blondie. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi, I'm reaching to you regarding this article as you have submitted it to a GA review.

I would appreciate if you withdraw such nomination as the song has just been released and is still topping charts, more reviews will be made...overall, more information will become available that can be used to expand and improve the article. I know there is no policy against nominating recent songs. But what's the rush?

Thank you for your time. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:12, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@MarioSoulTruthFan:, it's fine. The song has been out for nearly a month now. The album itself comes out in just two days, and surely, they'll be a bit more written about the song in those album reviews too. It'll probably still be some time before someone decides to review the article anyway. Kokoro20 (talk) 22:27, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I came here with the same concern. I'd suggest you withdraw it because a lot more will probably be written about it. The "Music" section, particularly the "Songs", generally are responded to quickly in the GA nominations, so there is nothing to worry about there. I'd suggest you wait a bit more and then renominate, as I see it is still climbing on the charts in the United States. Thanks, Carbrera (talk) 04:58, 17 May 2017 (UTC).[reply]
Well, the album After Laughter is out now, so there's more info about "Hard Times" that can be added from album reviews and stuff, which I plan to add some soon. Kokoro20 (talk) 07:28, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I noted that you have been editing the Tekken character articles. Nice work. I tried expanding Lars (which became a GA thanks to user:uker) as well as Jin and Heihachi. I couldn't find material about Heihachi's and Kazuya's creation though even though they are the most notable Tekken characters. Anyways, keep up the good work.Tintor2 (talk) 16:05, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not an expert in the topic but User:ProtoDrake‎ has taken a lot of articles to GA status so he might have advices to give. I guess in order to take it to GA you need some need good reception information, creation and a good prose. Since English is not my native language I always send the articles to GA to the guild of copyeditors. Meanwhile, I don't know if you added it, but Tekken Hybrid contains an interview where writer Dai Sato explains why she chose Xiaoyu and Alisa to be the film's protagonists. You can find that video in Youtube. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 14:00, 16 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot. How about about taking a peer review to get more comments by other editors? It might help to fix the issues for a GA nomination.Tintor2 (talk) 13:01, 21 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:18, 14 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ash

In the "Britpop" section on Ash's talk page, you said that they are Britpop according to Allmusic. That website is unreliable when it comes to sourcing music genres. I plan to find a better source for them being Britpop. Dean12065 (talk) 07:07, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Dean12065: Only the sidebar on AllMusic is unreliable. If the genres are stated elsewhere there, like Britpop was, then it's reliable. I would suggest having the AllMusic source restored, if a "musical style" section was made. Kokoro20 (talk) 08:03, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Next time, if you need to properly editing a cite, here is a great place to start Template:Cite web.

183.171.123.139 (talk) 07:33, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have marked the article as failing WP:GNG. Please note that WP:SIGCOV is different from a trivial mention, and that numerous trivial mentions together do not create significant coverage where there is none. That is known as WP:REFBOMBing and is very common in fictional character articles. There is a reason it was redirected. The easiest way to tell if the coverage is significant is if the source is entirely about the character, and there are no reception sources that are solely about Coco Bandicoot, so it is liable to be re-redirected or deleted. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 09:47, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I should clarify that there are the two TheGamer articles that are indeed entirely about her, but one is solely about a design change and not her characterization, while the other is largely a showcase/gallery of fan-created works, so neither indicates serious discussion. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 09:49, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Zxcvbnm: I have noticed you had marked the article as such. However, I disagree with this assessment. And besides the two sources from TheGamer, there's also these two other sources in the article solely about Coco:
https://www.ign.com/articles/2017/06/15/e3-2017-why-coco-is-playable-in-crash-bandicoot-n-sane-trilogy
https://gamerant.com/crash-bandicoot-n-sane-trilogy-coco-playable/
While the second source from TheGamer is a showcase of fan-art, it does also discuss her character, and one of the initial criticisms from Cat's Tuxedo was the lack of such.
I've been a regular editor on Wikipedia for 11 years now. I know what significant coverage and GNG are. Besides, GNG also says and I quote "Significant coverage is more than a trivial mention, but it does not need to be the main topic of the source material." So even if there weren't any sources solely about Coco, it could have still potentially passed GNG.
Keep in mind that the initial redirect was years before such coverage of Coco was published. MoonJet (talk) 10:16, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I just found this source. While I can't get full access to it, it talks about Coco some too. MoonJet (talk) 10:26, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Seniority really has nothing to do with knowing how Wikipedia policy works, there are plenty of users who have taken an extended hiatus and are not familiar at all with current policy. All I have to say is that if you were an active editor for all that time you should probably know better. I can't speak to the journal article since I can't access it, but the IGN and GameRant sources are extremely short; I am pretty confident that this article would fail an AfD with a redirect decision and Cat's Tuxedo seems to think the same as well. It is still almost entirely trivial coverage or primary sources. At this juncture, it certainly merits a mention in a list of characters but not a standalone article. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 10:30, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Zxcvbnm: As short as they are (and I wouldn't call them "extremely short"), they are still important discussion pieces, such as explanation why Coco is playable, hence not "trivial." It's not so much that I should "know better," it's just I disagree with your viewpoint on character notability. I'm not alone, as your Megatron AFD ended in a snow keep. MoonJet (talk) 10:49, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you believe that is my "opinion" then I definitely invite you to gather consensus on the issue from other editors. I am not approaching this from a point of WP:BADFAITH or wanting to "get" the article deleted so I would be glad to be proven wrong. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 11:58, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Zxcvbnm: I would be sure to participate in any such discussion. I also want to discuss Amy Rose again sometime too, now that I've gathered up more sourcing for her since the last discussion. MoonJet (talk) 16:19, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please read WP:CANVASS. Edits like this blatantly violate it. You literally went out of your way to selectively contact someone you know would be sympathetic to your argument, and made comments that were clearly meant to persuade them into supporting you, which they did. Don't do that. Sergecross73 msg me 18:57, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Sergecross73 This was done merely on the basis on if my draft needed more improvements, rather than canvassing. In fact, I never told him to vote in the discussion, nor did I even want him to. He chose to do that himself. That being said, I will be more careful in the future. Sorry that this came across as canvassing. MoonJet (talk) 18:30, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

AfD reply and Thanks

[edit]

The AfD for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Willoughby Kipling has ended, and thanks for your reply! Of course, I disagree with your point again (per WP:NBOOK, articles only with plot summaries are discouraged upon, the four refs could only be used to write a summary/overview, IMHO, "short" is subjective, IMO 100 words + in a ref could be SIGCOV, provided that it's not just a summary, otherwise, pretty much all films have characters that are covered in reviews describing plots, that way, they could all be articles. Screen Rant is generally reliable for entertainment topics but less so for uncontroversial ones here, so it's probably okay to use here, but I'm unsure if it's RS enough to be considered notable.) IMO, as the AfD has ended, there might still be time to discuss a suitable redirect target, however, I like your arguments as well, compared to Jclemens, IMHO your one is far better written and makes sense (despite my personal POV). Thanks again, and have a nice day (or night)! :) VickKiang (talk) 21:27, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can u create a padge for Amy Rose as she one of the main? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ethan169 (talkcontribs) 17:37, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ethan169: I have a draft for Amy Rose here. I've tried getting her de-merge twice in recent times. However, consensus has been against me both times. It's a shame too, because I really think she deserves an article and she clearly passes notability in my book. However, this doesn't mean she won't ever get an article, as new sources do pop up and consensus can change. MoonJet (talk) 03:03, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Two characters

[edit]

If you're willing to save more articles, you could give Alisa Bosconovitch and Christie Monteiro a shot. They can be barely notable or probably not, but it's worth a try. I wouldn't be touching them yet but will recheck soon. Look at how popular Anna Williams (Tekken) is, yet they sadly lack any coverage. GlatorNator () 12:14, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

GlatorNator: I've actually been intending to do that for Christie Monteiro. I just haven't gotten around to it yet, since I have a life outside of Wikipedia. As for Alisa, I think she has enough, but I'll look for more on her as well. MoonJet (talk) 20:15, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alisa appeared in Project x zone 2. When writing X (Mega Man), I found that one source focused on every character appearing there.

Notice

The article Alisa Bosconovitch has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article lacks notable reception discussing them as a character to satisfy SIGCOV or notability, and trying to find sources per WP:BEFORE proved fruitless in turn. At most she gets light mentions, but little actual discussion and more passing reactions.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Uploading Tekken 8 Yoshimitsu Image

[edit]

Hi there, man. First of all, I wish you Happy New Year 2024 and all the best in this year and in your future contributions. I saw that you contributed to many Tekken-related pages and even uploaded several pictures in their characters infoboxes. So I wanted to ask you, if its not a problem, since I'm not really good at uploading pictures and they usually get deleted and I saw that you changed Leo's Tekken 7 image to Tekken 8 image in infobox, would it be possible for you to upload Tekken 8 Yoshimitsu image in his infobox since I and many others believe that his latest depiction is a better choice than his Tekken 7 picture and I've seen that several other Tekken characters who have their Wikipedia article that will return in Tekken 8 have their Tekken 8 image in their infoboxes including Nina Williams, Ling Xiaoyu, Leo Kliesen and King. All the best and thanks in advance. Disturbedasylum https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Disturbedasylum (my user talk page)

Re: Goro

[edit]

Hey, MJ. I'll tell you one thing: you've got the patience of a monk. :) After a turbulent two weeks (sigh), I've finally writing back about Goro. Unfortunately — and I realize in advance I'm going to sound like a jerk — I don't think he yet has the horses to regain his article. The preexisting reception has the same issues that got it merged, and I had added all of the movie content beforehand and that wasn't enough to save it. The Screen Rant piece has a clickbaity title and meaningless answer three paragraphs down that he's a Shokan, which everyone already knows. (I've noticed SR starting to creep back into some articles despite its validity having been questioned in past character AfDs.) Nice work on digging up that character study, but it just briefly covers his design changes and states that he's a fan favorite before moving on. He's rightly renowned for his status in the first game but that was three decades ago and he's been a virtual nonentity in the series since. You're probably telling me to go jump in a lake right now, but this is just my opinion on the character and sources, not the draft. It might be a good idea to also pick KungFuMan's brain about this, if you haven't already. sixtynine • whaddya want? • 23:52, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I added some of the sources pertaining to to the movies too, and after I did, you and Greenish thought his reception section focused too much on his movie portrayals. Hence, I went to search for more that discuss Goro outside the films, and I do feel that concern about the reception focusing too much on his movie appearances have been addressed. But since you don't seem to agree, maybe I'll ask KFM like you suggested. MoonJet (talk) 15:20, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
