Undeletion Bishwo Gautam
please undelete this. I will edit and make it comply with wikipedia rules., I researched and wrote this article taking 9 hours today and found out that there was another one which was delete few days ago.please let meme edit it please. I have put too much effort in it — Ktmstreetrider (talk) 18:55, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
Well I understand why the article was deleted which was written by other user. But I am writing a better one Ktmstreetrider (talk) 19:36, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Ktmstreetrider: Maybe it'd be better to write one through WP:AFC? The article you wrote before appears to be too fluffy, with things like " He awe inspired Nepali fashion industry " Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 20:07, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hey, I have done exactly what you asked for. There are no promotional/fluffy languages now. Its my 3rd article and I have put 2 days of effort in it. Please accept it now. There are no outsite weblinks present now. And I have tried my best to not to make it look like autubiography. Here is a link:

- Um. I see that the draft has been declined by someone else. Are you absolutely sure that the topic meets WP:NBIO? We do not accept biographies without several independent sources about them, and if they don't exist you can't have a draft approved. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 09:32, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
- Yes. There was no sources and references when the draft got published. Now there are a lot of sources from national newspaper along with one international "huffingpost". Ktmstreetrider (talk) 13:14, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
- These will need to be added to the draft, then. I am not really in the business of reviewing drafts, so once you have added these sources you'll need to resubmit it. Also, please don't add a new header for every post here. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 13:17, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

Hey, now that I have made several corrections and have put alot of sources, shall I move it to article space? Can you please take a look at it once. I am afraid it will be deleted again as it's title will be similar to the deleted one https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Boshwo_Gautam Ktmstreetrider (talk) 05:13, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

Hey jojo. You asked me to create a new one of "Bishow Gautam". I wrote a new one with good language and no promotional words and enough good sourxessources. Everytime I publish it, some deleted it mentioning it is same as one which was before deleted after afd. Now please help me. What do you suggest? Why don't you help me edit the one you deleted? DYK for Los Frailes ignimbrite plateau
On 15 February 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Los Frailes ignimbrite plateau, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Los Frailes ignimbrite plateau has a volume of about 2,000 cubic kilometres (480 cu mi), and volcanism may have continued into the Holocene? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Los Frailes ignimbrite plateau. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Los Frailes ignimbrite plateau), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Jacob Barnett
Last June you deleted and protected Jacob Barnett following an extensive AFD discussion. Yesterday user Prisencolin created The Spark: A Mother's Story of Nurturing Genius, a memoir about Jacob Barnett. More worryingly the same editor created a series of redirects such as Jacob Barnett (mathematician) (I noticed this because the Jacob Barnet redirect, about somebody quite different, was repointed). I would appreciate your thoughts on what if anything to do about this. Regards, Jonathan A Jones (talk) 09:01, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- I want to see what Prisencolin has to say about this. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 11:38, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
He's now spamming every conceivable redirect and disambiguation page as well as edit warring at Jacob Barnet affair. I have asked him to join the discussion here. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 18:13, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- There doesn't seem to be anything intrinsically wrong with creating these redirects, at least as far as what I see in the community guidelines. There's no attempt to recreate the article in its entirety under another name.--Prisencolin (talk) 18:23, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- The problem is that the book, being part (if not indeed the origin) of the hype, cannot be explained properly without telling the whole story of how the hype bubble got burst, which was what brought on the BLP takedown at the end of the AfD series. The less that gets said about the book, the more the article implies that the hype was true. There is a great deal of WP:IDHT going on here about this, and putting out a dragnet to capture every possible search for the fellow smells strongly of an attempt to evade the AfD decision. Recent changes
- The explanation of the abbreviations on the recent changes page could overlap with the list of changes. This has been fixed. [1][2]
- You can now see statistics for pageviews per wiki per country. You can see this on maps or in a table. [3]
Problems
- Linter is reporting estimated counts instead of actual counts for some wikis. This is because of performance problems. You might notice a false higher number in linter counts for some categories. This will be fixed as soon as the performance problem has been fixed. [4]
- Last week the way that Visual Editor displays references lists was changed. As a result, the references generated by specific templates like
{{sfn}}
are not visible in the references list whilst editing. [5][6]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 20 February. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 21 February. It will be on all wikis from 22 February (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the next meeting with the Editing team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 20 February at 19:30 (UTC). See how to join.
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 21 February at 16:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- The way edit summaries and log comments are stored in the database is being changed. In the future this will make longer comments possible. [7]
- Edit conflicts could be solved in a different way in the future. You can test a new prototype.

Deletion of FlexiLoans Article
Hello Jo-Jo Eumerus, this message is in regards to your action of deletion of FlexiLoans Wikipedia page. I understand you're trying to keep Wikipedia clean and away from spamsters trying to build wiki pages which don't adhere to Wiki guidelines. However, I deeply regret the deletion of the Wiki page, since I believe it did follow Wiki guidelines. The article didn't have any promotional matter, at the same time explained the company details in a crisp manner. Also, there are quite a number of notable press mentions which authenticate every line mentioned in the article. The press mentions are from one of the top publishing houses in India. I request you to have a look into this matter and realign your questions which I am sure could be answered/justified. Awaiting your response on the same.--Deepmehta0507 (talk) 15:07, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- Greetings. Technically I am not
trying to keep Wikipedia clean and away from spamsters trying to build wiki pages which don't adhere to Wiki guidelines
, I am one of the cadre of admins which close Wikipedia:Articles for deletion discussions and enact their conclusions. As you can see on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FlexiLoans, while there were sources they were either drive-by mentions or not independent from the article topic; as per WP:GNG and the specifications on WP:NCORP sources need to be reliable, substantial and independent from the article topic. Problems
- Last week's MediaWiki version was rolled back because of a bug. [9][10]
- Since the deployment train last week until late evening on 20 February UTC, when you thanked someone for an edit, the thank went to the latest unthanked edit to that page. It didn't matter which edit you tried to give thanks for. This has been fixed. [11]
- Special:Statistics did not take newly created pages into account since 13 February 2018. Because of this the statistics are recreated. [12][13][14]
Changes later this week
- Users with version 10 of the Internet Explorer browser will no longer get JavaScript on Wikimedia wikis. If you use this browser on your computer, you can try upgrading to a newer version. [15]
- The Wikinews wikis will switch to use the Remex parsing library. This is to replace Tidy. It will happen on 27 February. Other wikis will be recommended to switch soon when they have fixed the errors that must be fixed. Tidy will be removed in the middle of 2018. [16][17]

Request to undo deletion of Said Baaghil Page
Hi, can the page Said Baaghil be undeleted or restored if the objectionable information is removed or edited to meet Wikipedia standards? Baaghil is a Public Speaker on Brand Marketing and an author; he has been covered by local media and yet even that information relating to it has been deleted. His TedX talks cannot be shared as Wikipedia doesn't accept links from YouTube. Awaiting your replyMoiz Muqri (talk) 12:54, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
- Greetings, according to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Said Baaghil the sources were not in depth and independent, so we'll need new ones. Also, the article was fairly promotionally written so probably would need to be recreated from scratch, say on Draft:Said Baaghil. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 12:57, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thank You for your response. Can you please check Draft: Said Baaghil along with the sources. I have only used those of Saudi private sector media, Seigal+Gale's website link in which Baaghil's interview is published (Baaghil doesn't work for any organization & Seigal+Gale is a world renown Brand Advisory firm who interviewed him) and last but not least, Baaghil's own article written for UK's Campaign magazine which is also an independent media. I have also added google search link to Baaghil's books rather than creating a table of my own as I did last time. If Draft: Said Baaghil meets Wikipedia criteria then please have it published asap or advise me how to publish it. Thank You in advanceMoiz Muqri (talk) 20:11, 4 March 2018 (UTC)

Cait.123 (talk) 14:06, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
- Aye. For paid editing I'd do a disclosure on the userpage, such as
{{paid|employer=ACME}}
with ACME replaced with the employer. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 14:30, 7 March 2018 (UTC)

"Bobaflex" deletion
I was informed the article for my band, Bobaflex, was deleted for lack of significance (a7 i believe.) I can provide plenty of info to the contrary - youtube videos, touring logs, bilboard chart archives etc - but i dont really know how to go about the process. i saw your name in the deletion log and was hoping you could help me. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jymmyisgroovy (talk • contribs) 19:56, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
- Well, the problem is that "youtube videos, touring logs, bilboard chart archives" do not count as "substantial reliable sources independent of the subject". Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 20:51, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

Recent changes
- 3D models can now be uploaded to Commons. [23]
- Page Previews has been updated to use HTML for previews. This has fixed many issues. An A/B test was done on English and German Wikipedia to measure how it is used. Other changes were also made. [24]
- Some edits have to be checked against too many conditions before they can trigger an abuse filter. If that is the reason no filter is triggered the edit will be tagged for review. [25]
- Auto-saving has been added to the visual editor and the 2017 wikitext editor. Right now it is meant to help if your browser crashes or if you accidentally close a tab. [26]
Problems
- The abuse filter did not tag all edits that should have been tagged after last week's MediaWiki version had come to the wikis. It was fixed on 9 March (UTC). [27]
Changes later this week
- You can notify users in edit summaries. They will get a ping just as if they had been mentioned on a wiki page. This was originally planned to happen last week. [28]
- It is now possible to specify the block parameters for each filter in Special:AbuseFilter. The parameters include block duration and if the user should be blocked from editing their own talk page. The block duration is separate for anonymous and registered users. [29][30]
- A hundred Wikimedia wikis will switch to use the Remex parsing library. This is to replace Tidy. It will happen on 13 and 14 March. Other wikis will be recommended to switch soon when they have fixed the errors that must be fixed. Tidy will be removed in the middle of 2018. [31][32][33]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 13 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 14 March. It will be on all wikis from 15 March (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the next meeting with the Editing team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 13 March at 19:30 (UTC). See how to join.
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 14 March at 16:00 (UTC). See how to join.

Mark Foster merge
Just wanted you to know that you closed this AfD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mark Foster (musician) on Feb. 28 with a decision to merge to Foster the People. I completed that merge today. You might want to make sure that I covered all the procedures per WP:PROMERGE correctly. Thanks. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 20:07, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

DYK for La Pacana
On 18 March 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article La Pacana, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that one of the largest volcanic eruptions on Earth, at La Pacana in Chile, erupted 2,451–3,500 cubic kilometres of rock? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/La Pacana. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, La Pacana), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
