Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. ABCDEFAD✉ 22:19, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi Jo-Jo. I've blocked the user but technically they did not get a final warning. Final warnings are level-4 warnings or only warnings. If they vandalize after that, then report them. If you have questions, please feel free to ask. --NeilN talk to me 20:17, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your assistance in answers queries raised by users using the {{helpme}} functionality. Your assistance is appreciated. Can i ask that when you have responded to these queries you change the {{helpme}} to {{helpme-helped}} as this then removes it from the list of editors requesting help. Quick question
Hi Jo-Jo
Thank for letting me know about the error I made. I have referenced the article from external sources so I was wondering if the error was removed. Can you confirm? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Megatetraocta (talk • contribs) 14:27, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Megatetraocta:: Uh, it still looks like a copypaste from another website to me. A website which copyrights its material. We can't just copy that here. And removing speedy deletion tags on articles you created is not encouraged. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 14:33, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Jo-jo:: I am working on the correction now. I thought the speedy deletion tag could be removed once addressed.

Hey Jo-Jo. I've noticed you've done some tagging on articles created by editors with a conflict of interest. If you wish, you can alert these people to our COI guidelines by placing a COI notice on their talk page. If their user name is the same as an organization, a COI/Username warning can be given. Bots
You are receiving this message because a technical change may affect a bot, gadget, or user script you have been using. The breaking change involves API calls. This change has been planned for two years. The WMF will start making this change on 30 June 2015. A partial list of affected bots can be seen here: https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2015-June/081931.html This includes all bots that are using pywikibot compat. Some of these bots have already been fixed. However, if you write user scripts or operate a bot that uses the API, then you should check your code, to make sure that it will not break.
What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is not affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.
This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.
If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!
- The simple solution is to simply include the "rawcontinue" parameter with your request to continue receiving the raw continuation data (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&rawcontinue=1>). No other code changes should be necessary.
- Or you could update your code to use the simplified continuation documented at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Query#Continuing_queries (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&continue=>), which is much easier for clients to implement correctly.
Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.
Do you need help with your own bot or script? Ask questions in e-mail on the mediawiki-api or wikitech-l mailing lists. Volunteers at m:Tech or w:en:WP:Village pump (technical) or w:en:Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard may also be able to help you.
Are you using someone else's gadgets or user scripts? Most scripts are not affected. To find out if a script you use needs to be updated, then post a note at the discussion page for the gadget or the talk page of the user who originally made the script. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 19:03, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
thanks for advice but 'HELP!'
Thank you Jo-Jo for your comments on my section in Coppice Spring talk page, I am new to this and didn't know how to respond to your comment. I can add referenced evidence of improvement, that is fine, however we really want to remove the information about Grangeside school as that was a previous local authority run school. it was a different school. Why is it that there seems to be a reluctance from people to let us do this? I would be very grateful for your advice as I am completely new to all of this. Hcraven (talk) 10:12, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Hcraven: I am not familiar with the story of that school. If it's a different school that the article is talking about (and that needs a source as well) it would be worth splitting it off maybe. Who is "we", by the way? Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 10:17, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
'We' are the new Leadership Team of the Coppice Spring School, and in fact the students as well. Everyone is very upset about this Wikipedia page. Clearly I am not going to be allowed to remove sourced content or blank the page as I found out last night, without agreement from the people who seem so keen to keep it live (who are these people by the way? do they work for Wikipedia?). We can try again to get the page removed perhaps or maybe split it as you suggest as we do have source material to that end (how would we do that?) Hcraven (talk) 11:09, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
- OK, then it appears you might want to read our Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest guidelines. I don't think you can get the page removed; putting your sources on the Talk page would be a good start, someone will surely come and add them in/rewrite the article. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 11:23, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello Jo-Jo Eumerus
I received a message from you about errors I have made. I am working for the person who the article is about. How can I make changes without them being deleted?
ParcmParcm (talk) 12:54, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Parcm: All your edits to articles, especially to biographies of living people (per WP:BLP) should ideally be backed up with reliable sources. Now, that content is not really controversial I think but sources are still good. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 12:57, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
Thank-you for your help - I'm now adding in references. ParcmParcm (talk) 13:18, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi - thanks for answering. It was an article about Dino computer games. Sorry I don't have the exact reference number. I just opened an account this morning and was given that page to edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carolynpatten (talk • contribs) 16:38, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Declining speed deletion of Draft:Jay Scott Ballinger
Jo-Jo Eumerus, I have declined your WP:G10 speedy deletion tag on the page Draft:Jay Scott Ballinger. WP:BLP is indeed a tricky thing to deal with. The page clearly made some very serious statements without citations. A quick WP:BEFORE search shows that the information contained in the DRAFT appear to be accurate. Jay Scott Ballinger is in fact a convicted arsonist that whose activities were widely reported. A number of other factors come into play such as WP:CRIME but since the page was a DRAFT, the best thing would be to give the writer a chance to fill out the sources before moving it into the main article space where WP:BLP plays the most critical role. That being said, if my WP:BEFORE search had not found anything, I would have been inclined to delete the page. Regards, Mkdwtalk 18:55, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
- Mmmm. I was having some doubts myself about that one. I guess the next time I will inform the user on their talk page first in such situations. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 18:58, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
i am sorry for your misunderstanding.
sorry as i am, you consulted me about the wrong thing, you see, some people i know use that stuff all the time, i had to put it somewhere. please put my page back up, they edit that stuff all the time. we would greatly appreciate it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pokemaster12403 (talk • contribs) 14:50, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Pokemaster12403: Sorry, but that topic plainly does not appear to be suitable for inclusion; even by your own admission it has no claim of significance if it's just your invention. Googling also didn't show anything at all. We can't include just any thing on Wikipedia, it needs sourcing. Also, given your other edits you might want to check out Wikipedia:Vandalism too. Hello
Help me understand why my page is considered advertising and walmart isn't— Preceding unsigned comment added by The_Waterboy_Group (talk • contribs)
- @The Waterboy Group: Greetings. The main issue is that with words such as "aids clients", "prides itself" and "critically acclaimed", a list of things that group does it reads like a brochure. Besides, the Walmart page is located in the article space; your page, given its location, appears to be more like an advert. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 19:31, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

EDITING MICHAEL YOUNG
Being new to the active use of Wikipedia, I missed your post on my Talk page of 19 June (I was looking on Materialsscientist's page) - but many thanks. The proposed update has info which forms the storyline of the film Endgame - can this be used as a source? It also has basic biodata, which I assume does not need a source. Lastly, it includes a couple of important paras with info on which there is no public record.
I would love to talk to an expert about how to progress this, and am obviously ready to share my details to achieve this. Would that be possible?
Thanks again, Bigyin99 Bigyin99 (talk) 13:58, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Bigyin99: The film is the source? I am a bit unsure which is the source you are referring to. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 14:30, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
Yes - the film Endgame gives all of the details of the main element of Michael's entry - his work on bringing an end to apartheid in South Africa. I cannot get any useful info from any of the other sources cited. His earlier life is not on public record, and our draft entry is deliberately written to avoid contentiousness, conflict of interest etc. Rgds Bigyin99 Bigyin99 (talk) 05:59, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
...and the film Endgame is cited on Michael's page. Bigyin99 Bigyin99 (talk) 06:01, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

E-Donut
Good day Jo-Jo Eumerus, I am the author of the E-Donut page. E-Donut is basically a social networking site which aims to bring people together, and I feel that wikipedia provides a platform to educate people on sites where they can link up with people of like minds. In aiming to write this page I have drawn insight from very popular sites like Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Badoo, just to name a few across the world that have writeups about their links to social awareness. As a social networking site the primary purpose is to bring people of all races together in harmonious relationship with the aim of understanding ourselves and making the world better than we first met it. Our intentions were never to violate your laws, and we would be grateful if we are given this platform. It is important to also mention that we are a Panafrican networking site, and E-Donut provides an avenue for us to share our story using the universality of the Donut, which is appreciated worldwide.
Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by E-Donut (talk • contribs) 17:23, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- @E-Donut: While these are interesting goals, using your userpage to promote your webservice is against Wikipedia's policies, both regarding userspace and Wikipedia in general - WP:NOTADVERTISING. The proper place to put an article in would be E-Donut, and only if the topic does meet our pertinent notability guidelines. I suspect it won't but maybe I am wrong. Cheers! Hi, why did you block our page from being published?
This page is not unambiguously promotional, because--London Atelier of Representational Art is a school this is simply an atelier method studio based in London. We are not trying to sell anything through wikipedia, just inform the public of this style of training in the UK. How do I go about changing my entry without it looking like i am advertising? - @London Atelier of Representational Art: Well, the page as-is is written like an advertisement with all the WP:PEACOCK terms like "Unique in the UK", "well resourced and professional", "gives optimum time" and so on. Also, userpages are not meant to be articles; I would recommend you to write up a page at Draft:London Atelier of Representational Art assuming that it meets WP:NCORP inclusion rules.
