CRT edit

Hi, I'm the anonymous user who edited the Chinese Remainder Theorem page. Did you actually look at my changes before reverting them? I understand that it is helpful to provide edit summaries, but it shouldn't be necessary for a user to be either logged in or provide an edit summary --- that seems to go against the whole point/spirit of Wikipedia. Anyone who can make a helpful change should be able to make one, and other users should probably not revert them without a careful check unless they are obviously vandalism.

New/old problem

Hi, Jj37. I'm actor Troy McClure. You might remember me from such PP requests as Dodge Dart and Plymouth Valiant. (OK, I'm done channelling Phil Hartman now...)

The IP editor who repeatedly disrupted Chrysler Hemi Engine, leading to that article's indefinite PP at my request [1], and who has behaved likewise at Ford FE engine, is now behaving similarly at Hemi engine, see e.g. [2], [3] with similar talk page belligerence. Attempts at unencyclopædic article ownership seem especially common in the automotive categories, perhaps due to an abundance of editors with more zeal for their favourite cars and engines than interest in improving Wikipedia articles. Chrysler Hemi engine, Dodge Dart, and Plymouth Valiant have benefitted greatly from indefinite PP; editors are coming in and coöperatively improving these articles. Do you think similar long-term semiprotection would be warranted at Hemi engine? If so, I'll ask for it. It seems to me some editors willfully remain unregistered so as to circumvent Wikipedia's provisions for dealing easily and efficiently with problem editors. —Scheinwerfermann (talk) 03:01, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All right, I semi-protected it indefinitely.   jj137 (talk) 03:28, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Tnx^6. ("Thanks a million") —Scheinwerfermann (talk) 04:09, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Regrettably, I'm pretty sure we haven't seen the last of 'im. I initiated a Wikiquette alert earlier today and politely informed its subject; so far the only response is the predictable one from the problematic editor. I wonder if he thinks I'm somehow behind SineBot's exasperation with him, given his odd tendency not only to refuse to sign his comments, but to go back in after Sinebot and delete the autosignatures! —Scheinwerfermann (talk) 04:22, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You've got mail. —Scheinwerfermann (talk) 00:07, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, having a little trouble to get Vandal Proof to work. I clciked 'Login' then it won't do anything. Any siy suggestions? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:03, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks and Thanks. Also, there is one more request on WP: RAC. Go ahead and approve it. Seems to be similar to an account that has no edits. Also, Stormbreaker (novel) seems to be acting up. But I'm not sure if it should be protected. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:52, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah - I was going to say that. Thanks - Milk's Favorite Cookie 00:19, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do you want to start a Red Sox portal? - I can get started if you like. Or is it a bad idea? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 01:13, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright - never mind then. I'll start a Celtics portal :). Also, you assessments should be done my tomorrow ^.^ - Milk's Favorite Cookie 02:15, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Repeated: :::::Alright - never mind then. I'll start a Celtics portal :). Also, you all the assessments should be done my tomorrow ^.^ That better? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:28, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reverting the unattributed allegations. I found the correct information and cite. Bearian (talk) 01:10, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. It didn't look correct.   jj137 (talk) 02:33, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See also sections

Hi. You might want to take a look at this discussion about "see also" sections as they refer to all-time rosters on baseball player articles. -NatureBoyMD (talk) 18:43, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have removed rollback privileges from User:Tasc0, to whom you had given the button last month [4]. He has, on a number of occasions recently, used rollback to revert non-vandalism. He was reported for 3RR, which was an incorrect report as he had reverted only twice, but upon examining his edits, I found that this user had used rollback in this content dispute and, from looking at his contributions, in several others. I wanted to let you know since you originally assigned the privilege so that you can review the action. Thank you. --B (talk) 19:53, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for telling me. He really shouldn't have rollback; that was just inappropriate use of the button.   jj137 (talk) 19:58, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Portal!

Sure! We'll get started as soon as I finish with the Wikiprojects (:)) assessment (10-20 mins) I have some good ideas. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:31, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I'm not sure if you have Internet Explorer (you should, considering that you have XP), but look at my talk page and my userpage with IE. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:34, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, - 'who likes an explorer better than a fox?' :) - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:38, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(Whoops - take a look at the edit summary) - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:38, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My hands are so trained to doing that LOL. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:40, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well C+P would be useless. I have to copy the assessment info remember. This little thing comes up on the bottom when I type 'as' or just 'a' - that's why I get em done so fast. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:42, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Lol. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:44, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You see, this is what happens to the edit summary when I go to fast (the one to the left). One time it was worse (I'm sure you can guess). JS: Edit summary tab (Thanks) , Quickedit, Wikied (thanks), Twinkle (who doesn't), Friendly, Popups, Lupin, Extraeditbuttons, and Friendlywelcome. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:55, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Again. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:58, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, can you point out the NP script? Also the stub tag script? What does the copyedit script do BTW? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 23:05, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done!!! - Milk's Favorite Cookie 00:50, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can make it smaller (or remove it) after you see it :) - Milk's Favorite Cookie 00:55, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! (And Thanks) ! I just started the portal. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 00:58, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, you may want to add the image from today's featured article on the main page. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 01:00, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Didn't see the licensing. All assessments have been done from that list (except for the uncreated ones). Can I create a subpage and list them there? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 01:04, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Remove the done ones and list the uncreated articles. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 01:06, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for fixing the portal. I'm going to go work on it now. I created the uncreated article page here. I'm going to finish up tomorrow. Also, why is this person, in the Category of 'Boston Red Sox Players'? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 01:42, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

deletion

If you want to delete what i do on a page, why don't you at least actually read what i did before you revert everything back, thereby removing additions i made. I didn't see any explanation for your deletion of my added content. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.239.202.126 (talk) 02:48, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I always look at what I revert. To me, it looks like you removed sourced content.   jj137 (talk) 02:52, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I did remove "sourced" content and, yes, i didn't give any reason. You did the same thing. That's all I'm saying. Thanks for your time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.239.202.126 (talk) 04:18, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not on Twinkle, it ain't. Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 18:00, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I prefer the non-admin rollback that comes with AVT anyway. Requesting removal of rollback. Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 18:39, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

50 Cent article

I didn't mean to permanently remove the content. I cut it to figure out how to solve a bug i saw, i immediately put the content back. Damn you were quick, to see the change xD.

It looks pretty good so far. I'm working on the cite webs.   jj137 (talk) 02:26, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah - i didn't give you the BOSox Barnstar because
  1. He only played on the Sox for 1 year.
  2. You already have one (I know how it feels having 20 of the same barnstars) - look at my originals. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 15:22, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know - I asked Wizardman to look it over one more time (he failed it last time). But, he also happens to be on a Wikibreak. Any last suggestions before I nominate it? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 15:25, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RFA Card

Question

Would this sig be too big? (Probably) - Milk's Favorite Cookie 21:23, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it looks smaller than the one you use now.   jj137 (talk) 21:26, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Really? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 21:28, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, I don't think so. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 21:28, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Oh well. I'll keep it (unless I get 30 complaints like last time) - Milk's Favorite Cookie 21:32, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, look at it now (not the sig - the link). - Milk's Favorite Cookie 21:37, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah - thanks for mentioning me in the newsletter (again) BTW. What are the 189 left unassessed articles? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:16, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll get started. Also, did you know, that someone (name has slipped my mind), on their first RFA got nominated and it failed. On their second one they got nominated... and he withdrew. On the third one he did a self-nom and passed with over 240 supports? Wow. Didn't think that was possible. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:23, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes - him. You don't see that everyday. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:30, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Hey, I have a question. The Creek people article name just doesn't sound right (that and they are officialy known as Muscogee), so my question is would it be OK if I moved the page myself? RC-0722 communicator/kills 21:52, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, this guy has been vandalizing my page. Could you do something 'bout it? RC-0722 communicator/kills 22:08, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Anyway, shoud I move it or what? RC-0722 communicator/kills 22:17, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You could probably go ahead and move the article explaining your reasoning in the edit summary box and/or leaving a message on the talk page explaining why you moved it. Also, I blocked the IP for three days (we're really not supposed to make them too lengthy the first block).   jj137 (talk) 22:19, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unassessed Assessments are...

Done!!! - Milk's Favorite Cookie 23:21, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uhh... I don't know. I just do them. But there is one that will always stay un-assessed. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 23:33, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah - I'm fast. I had 60ish tabs open at one time. And my computer really fast so... Should you delete it? It falls under C1. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 23:36, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And it took me 1 hour (that's not really fast). Should you delete the category? It falls under C1. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 23:42, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the category should start filling up, when new article are created. So, I think this will finally be one of the little wikiprojects that say '0' under 'unassessed' :) - Milk's Favorite Cookie 23:47, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
50+ contributions would be way to much in WP:RAC - right? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 02:34, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AIV

Just curious, why did you report a vandal to AIV when you could've just handled it yourself? Burner0718 JibbaJabba! 04:29, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

LOL, that was an accident with Huggle. It usually brings up a "block" box but for some reason it reported it to AIV.   jj137 (talk) 04:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, ok. It didn't seem quite normal to see an admin reporting to AIV. Burner0718 JibbaJabba! 04:35, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it's pretty funny. It's like, what just happened? But yeah, Huggle look like a Twinkle type thing but can use rollback instead of js. Am I right? Burner0718 JibbaJabba! 04:53, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Woooooow! What I do is at the "action complete" screen, I copy-and-paste the warning template, from my userpage (bottom), to the vandals talk page. It's slower than other systems but it works for me. Burner0718 JibbaJabba! 05:05, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

HatterDallax, Microorganism page.

I saw you left a talk comment for hatterdallax. I will go ahead and say the edits being made are intentional, and that he simply has little discretion. The subject of his edits is a very popular somethingawful.com adventure thread entitled "Microbe! He's the best" located here [6] The thread has generated a lot of enthusiasm, and unfortunately that includes the negative kind. Just wanted to drop by and let you know. That Lamer (talk) 04:42, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I will say I was a little confused by that edit, but since I saw "obviously The Best" I thought it could probably be considered vandalism. Thanks for telling me.   jj137 (talk) 04:59, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can has thankspam?

Yeah - I just created it 2 days ago. Just trying to create some off of this list. The ones with link are not baseball players. Those articles should be made with ___________ (baseball) obviously. I just have completed 1 so far. :). Also can you delete this? And, this seems to be moving forward. I have no idea what E means though (since you are going to help me out...) What does he mean? - Milk's Favorite Cookie 18:20, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think he means you should explain what parts of AWB you will use to fix typos. As in, are you going to use AWB's RegexTypoFixer with some find and replaces added?   jj137 (talk) 19:06, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"After the war, survivors who returned to Radziejów found that all Jewish-owned houses had been taken over by Poles. Survivors were afraid to remain because Polish groups were killing Jewish survivors, including a returning Jewish father and son in nearby Osięciny[5]."

"all Jewish-owned houses" Every single one? Can this be proved? Sources?

What do people from "nearby Oscieciny" have to do with Radziejow??

The entry reads just fine without these lines, they add absolutely nothing to the conversation. They were added by someone with a bias, there is even a link to the Wiki from their website. Biased.

Morever, look at source 4: ^ Excerpt of Speilberg Foundation video Holocaust testimony of Ben Neuman. Retrieved on 2007-05-21. Visit the website www.polandinjustice.com, who authored this portion of the wiki. This person is adding a source that is his own father's testimony. Is this not bias?

I'll do whatever I want on stupid Georgette2's talk page. and don't stop me!!!
