Twinkle
I just tried to leave you a talkback notice 3 times with twinkle, but it doesn't want to finish. I've been using Twinkle all day today with the only other issue being that sometimes rollback doesn't open the user's page for a message/warning. My specific answer to your question is at my talk page. NJGW (talk) 21:07, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, talkbacks not working on my talk page is related to WP:TW/BUG#TW-B-0250. Thanks for leaving a manual notice, though! Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 21:08, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- I went ahead and did a test. It looks to be working OK so far.[1] NJGW (talk) 22:06, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- Sometimes (over the past 2 weeks or so) the rollback feature doesn't open the user's talk page in a new window. I haven't paid close enough attention to see a pattern. Is this a significant/known issue, or just a fluke? NJGW (talk) 21:44, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- This is really weird: [2]. NJGW (talk) 23:55, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
TW-B-0235
Hi Ioeth
Concerning your comment "we know what the problem is" at TW-B-0235, do you actually have an idea what causes the problem, or were you only referring to the effects of the problem? Cheers, Amalthea 14:50, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- The effects. I have no idea what's causing it, otherwise I'd have fixed it already. However, I'm getting very sick of the "It happened again!!1!one!" messages on that bug. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 22:15, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
lupin
I bookmarked your page a while back because you seem to be good with scripts and such. My question is about the lupin tool(s). When using the spell check function (tool) - and clicking on the word I'm going to fix - is there a way to force the new page to show the actual diff - rather than just the edit box with the change already in place. The reason I ask, is I don't want to change something that's a quote, in a ref tag, etc. Thanks loeth — Ched (talk) 19:01, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

OTRS ticket 2009022410051826 - Oxford Academy (Connecticut)
Hello loeth! The is an ongoing case of using copyrighted material on the above site. A recent editur claims to be the creator of the school website and to own the copyrights to the images, additionally he claims that he has permission by the head of the school to use the text and images on Wikipedia. The user also claims that OTRS has issued the above ticket number to the case.
Copyright is probably with the school. The materials in question are highly commercial in their nature in my opinion, meant to advertise the school on their website. The school website is a perfect place for this kind of material but a lot of it prone to deletion on Wikipedia, anyway. For a second point I am not sure of the integrity of the user. He or she seems to be quite eager to add just that information and duplicate the material on Wikipedia and I am not sure how easy it would be to send an email from a school computer containing the school domain name and to make it look authentic. Additional discussion about the topic is at the editors talkpage (User talk:Jerzyboy455). If your time allows, would you mind to look into this case?
I hope I have contacted the right person here, I got your name from the list of OTRS account users and it said you are in charge of the strange_stuff, too. That encouraged me to drop you a line. Take care, and thanks for helping out, doxTxob \ talk 00:55, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

User:Titchbits74
I noticed that you were the blocking admin for this user, and I wanted to know if you could provide some background as to the reasons behind his blocking, as well as some advice as to whether or not it was appropriate for the user to create two new accounts. I ask because one of them, Shamwow86 (talk · contribs), is attempting to run for a coordinator position in WP Films, and I am concerned, since all of these user pages also resemble that of Creamy3 (talk · contribs), another blocked user who may or may not be associated with him. Your prompt thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks, Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 01:44, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Hello! I have just copied the whole code of Friendly to zhwiki, and I'm wondering if you publish the code under GFDL (so that I can translate and make some modification so that can fit zhwiki more well) or not. The code is now at w:zh:User:Jimmy xu wrk/Friendly/main.js. Thanks! (because I'm not a native English speaker, apologize for any inconvience made by my rough English)--Jimmy xu wrk (talk) 13:07, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not Ioeth, but the code was released under the GFDL, yes, pretty much automatically when it was developed here on en-wiki.

Digwuren restriction
Hello, as you had put me (and several others) on Digwuren restriction in early 2008, but seemingly have lost interest in these matters since, I want to inform you about the behavior of User:Piotrus. You had put him on Digwuren formal notice, and withdrew that less than an hour later, as "an apology issued by the user made me reconsider". Since, Piotrus had tried several times to take advantage of the Digwuren restrictions against his opponents, with various degrees of success, with an Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Arbitration enforcement request against me being the most recent example. I suggest you reconsider whether that apology of his was honest. -- Matthead Discuß 12:06, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Suspected sock puppet of Mrinal Pandey
hi Loeth. i wish you to kindly look at three pages, one of them which you created.
1. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Category:Suspected_Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_Mrinal_Pandey
2. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Wifione
3. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Mrinal_Pandey
the case was put up where my user id was suspected to be a sock puppet of a user called mrinal pandey and the case was closed with the finding 'possible', where one administrator had written that i had the same ISP as one of the previous sock puppets. i am writing from india where there are perhaps not more than two handfuls of isp providers (airtel, reliance, tata, mtnl, bsnl, idea, vodafone are what come to my mind after raking my brain hard). seeing the list of the numbe of sock puppets that the user mrinal pandey had, it is quite possible that my isp provider (reliance) would have been an isp provider for some or the other sock puppet. i do feel that this is a wrong finding.
I had three requests from you. firstly i wanted to find out how to get my name removed from the first link that you created. secondly i wanted to know how do i get the tag on my home page removed that says that an editor suspects me to be a sock puppet of mrinal pandey... and thirdly, on which forum do i put across the point that the finding of the sockpuppet investigation could be wrong...
would it be possible for you to kindly post your reply on my talk page? thanks and cheersWifione (talk) 07:40, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, i worked out the 'second' point that i had requested you on. i simply went to the 'edit' link on my page and removed the tag....Wifione (talk) 08:37, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Metrisoft
Hello. After spam-blocking User:Metrisoft you might also want to have a look at User:Datajoe. Actually the article creation pattern for DataJoe looks a lot like Metrisoft's, so I have a feeling the two accounts might even be socks. I'm not yet up to filing a sock case but if you could have a closer look at the two of them it could become interesting. De728631 (talk) 20:53, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Edits to Stock Market
My intent is not to cause disruption or engage in edit-warring with another user but I feel that By78 frequently engages in editing pages without consensus and often makes very biased claims. While officially he claims that he's only interested in the truth and all his sources are from verifiable sources, a review of his contributions and the complaints against him will reveal that he seems intent on promoting his anti-India view. Practically all of his edits are on India-related articles and he has received several warnings and a block for his disruptive behaviour as well as his personal attacks on other users (including me). You can view these complaints on the Administrator's noticeboard for more information [4] [5]. He has a history of making racist and derogatory comments like calling Mumbai "slumbai", his mockery of the Indian accent (see : Eendiah) or accusing the user GSMR of being an "Aryan-German" (for which he received a warning). He has also in the past accused me as acting as a sockpuppet for Chanakyathegreat and has questioned my sanity as well as claiming I act in bad faith. Those are all documented in the above links.
While By78 has accused me in the past of making "triumphalistic" claims about India, I have also removed India-related claims that couldn't be verified and I have not challenged his FACTUAL edits. If I may also add, his credibility should be brought into question since in the past he has uploaded many images to the Wikimedia commons while not actually having the explicit permission of the author do so. In addition, he has made many contradictory claims. For example in the edit summary for this article he claims he is a commissioned officer of the People's Liberation Army but in this article he claims he is "interested in East Asian culture and [does] speak a bit of mandarin, but [is] not Chinese." (Source).
In addition, I do not feel I am in the wrong making modifications to the stock market page since India does have some of the largest stock markets in the world by market capitalization. Both the BSE Sensex and the National Stock Exchange of India have a market capitalization of $1 trillion. At the same time, other countries like Canada and Germany are on the list of having large stock markets (The Frankfurt Stock Exchange has a market cap of $1.1 Trillion and Toronto's TSX has a market cap of $1.4 Trillion.) I feel that if Canada and Germany are on the list, India should be as well.

Biting the newbie much? Those edits were not spam; they were a useful, fully cited article expansion with the occasional weasel word thrown in. I had the situation fully in hand, whilst still being friendly and welcoming. In situations like this, the correct action is for you to walk away and leave it to me. Instead you decided to blank my message, overrule me, apply an unnecessary block, and apply an inappropriate template. This is not acceptable. Please unblock and revert yourself immediately. Hesperian 02:44, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- Well I'm sorry that we disagree. I feel that the combination of weaselly edits and the username to be indicative of an SPA whitewashing an article. If you still disagree, feel free to revert my actions yourself. On a sidenote, I found the message you left me above to be rather rude, especially coming from an experienced editor such as yourself. It's not often I feel like I need to break out the trout, but it almost got me to. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 02:54, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- WP:AN/I#Newb bitten. Please don't bother leaving talkback messages for me; I'll keep your user talk page on my watchlist for a few days. Hesperian 03:06, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that I have to agree here. For one, as an administrator, you should know better, that rollback is only to be used for reverting vandalism. Your block was excessive and I would ask you to overturn it. An explanation of policy and some guidance will suffice, a block is overkill. Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 03:15, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Ioeth - without getting overly into the debate, I am reverting your actions as a result of the discussion posted at AN/I. Just wanted to assure you that no offence was intended by this. Regards Manning (talk) 03:21, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- Oops - the user name IS a violation of the USERNAME policy. Hence the block is fair enough on that level. Manning (talk) 03:23, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi Ioeth - after this incident I looked at your contrib log and saw a large number of indef blocks. This gave me cause for alarm, so I dug around in case there was abuse of admin tools going on. Anyway after doing this I thought I'd at least be courteous enough to (a) let you know and (b) compliment you, as my concerns were clearly baseless. Your work is both accurate and responsible. Regards Manning (talk) 06:14, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for saying so, Manning. Of course, I am always open to have any and all of my contributions reviewed for comment as I always try to do the most good that I can. This particular incident won't be one that I'll soon forget, since it is certainly the most uproarious response I've heard to a block I've made. All in all, though, to date I've blocked just over 1,500 user accounts, most indefinitely, and this is the second, maybe third time that there has been any protestation, giving me about a 99.8% accuracy ratio for blocks, which I still feel pretty good about. Cheers to you for resolving the issue quickly and calmly while I stared at the back of my eyelids. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 13:16, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- From that comment it sounds like you at least now admit that it was innacurate, despite your protestation above, earlier. I find it best to be upfront sooner rather that later and admit my mistakes. If the response was uproarious, the block and discourteous talk page templating was amongst the most outrageous I'd ever seen. –Moondyne 13:29, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- For the record, the response I left above was because I had disagreed with Hesperian at the time and was actually just heading off to bed, which I probably should have noted. I have no problem admitting when I am wrong, as in this case, and learning from and apologizing for my mistakes, but I do find it rather difficult to do while sleeping. In case anyone is interested, here is my response to Hesperian this morning. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 14:11, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- And my response to Sircharlesgairdner, to whom I also sent an email. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 14:35, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

I am extremely disappointed by your arrogance and ignorance for deleting the profile of Dr. John Pritchett. How many people do you think are more important than a president of a public university of 26,897 students ?

I don't think the user is trying to evade a block; another explanation is that they are in a group of students who have created accounts with similar usernames, which is probably more likely as the IP address in the autoblock message belongs to a university. snigbrook (talk) 20:20, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Suppress Friendly signature on custom welcome template
Hi - I created {{wmnc}} and added it to my custom list in monobook - but I would like to find a way to take advantage of the parms that you have coded in there, including FriendlyConfig.insertSignature - is there a simple way to do that within custom.js without messing with your existing hash table for the standard templates ? I think they get why they were blocked now, and I don't think they really even need to change their username since it appears they were only promoting themselves and their fantasies, not any real organization. - I would recommend against unblocking. I've been communicating with the user over instant message, and it's quite clear that he is not here to help build an encyclopedia. The only thing that he is interested in is using Wikipedia for "political gain" (hehe, he's only 13!), i.e. using it like a social network. If you want, you're welcome to engage him in conversation to make sure that he isn't going to just be screwing around some more, but I honestly think it would be a waste of time. btw, the task force recommendations regarding the accessibility of wikipedia in China is interesting. Is it for ethical reasons, as in right to access or expend Wikipedia to 1/4 of world population who has no access to it. Is Wikipedia actually proposing to brake a countries right to decide what they allow as information? BTW2, I was checking the AFD, one kept my interest: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Sexuality_of_Robert_Baden-Powell
After years, Wikipedians still don't know what is encyclopedic. One big clue, how many sources you could provide which solely concern the sexuality of Baden-Powell? Not a sentence or paragraph in a book or paper... if none, how many book which contains sections solely on the sexuality of Baden-Powell, not just passing infos in an unrelated section. An article being sourceable and being encyclopedic are two different things. If there is no much review on a claim, maybe the claim is not notable enough so that scholars don't bother to review or address. Then lastly, there is the bigger context, notable enought about the man so that his sexual orientation has its own article. This last point alone disqualify this article, how many X of Robert Baden-Powell article there are? Elements which are notable, partly having made his reputation or notability..., can it be documented that the sexuality of Robert Baden-Powell played any role in his reputation or notability?
The AFD, what a failure, no improvement like many other aspects, and you guys plan invading the cyberspace, next target China lol. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Papabu (talk • contribs) 03:13, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

3RR block
Hi, I noticed you acted on this report. The user appears to be using an IP to evade the block and continue the edit war. Enigmamsg 02:37, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- And it's still going on. I recommend a one week block of the account, which will give the IP an autoblock. Enigmamsg 22:35, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know. I have blocked Sumbuddi (talk · contribs · block log) for an additional week with autoblock enabled. Please let me know if the disruption continues! Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 22:45, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Cheers. Enigmamsg 00:04, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hi, you just blocked my IP (86.178.11.57). I am just posting to let you know what is going on here.
- This user: [8] who is also [9] and [10] is a disruptive vandal, likely to be User:Wiki libs, who was recently unblocked following a indef ban for sockpuppeting, following similar behaviour at [11] as well as on dozens of other pages.
- The vandal has no other goal than 'revert sumbuddi', he doesn't care what he is reverting to.
- Anyway, the version of online bingo that he reverted to contained a link to a Yahoo directory that is actually completely off-topic to online bingo, that was mistakenly inserted by another editor (this is not the same user as the three IPs above) [12], who acknowledged his mistake here: [13]. Unfortunately the other editors don't seem to have noticed this, and are blindly reverting to the vandalism by the anon IP, back to the completely useless Yahoo link (rather than, perhaps, to the Dmoz link in there previously). Hence my reverting. Because it is vandalism, and should be reverted.
- Unfortunately nobody seems to be paying any attention or reading my edit summaries. Sad.
- And, just FYI, Enigmaman is not exactly an impartial observer, because he is best buddies with Wiki Libs, and recently blocked an anon IP used by several public libraries for the absurd period of six months with the abusive block note of 'stupid prick' for writing a screed against the (then still blocked) Wiki Libs. 86.177.26.58 (talk) 23:17, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- To express that in shorter form: all I did was revert vandalism on one page, which is not edit warring. Unfortunately nobody noticed that, despite my edit summaries, and they kept restoring the bad Yahoo link. Doh. 86.177.26.58 (talk) 23:29, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Looks like somebody finally noticed. [14] Pity it took so long. 86.177.26.58 (talk) 00:15, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- More block evasion and attacks from you. There was nothing wrong with my block of that IP. I was blocking an IP which was clearly being used by one user only, from a cursory view of the contributions. In fact, like your dispute on the bingo page, no one agrees with you regarding that block. Back to you: If you wish to contest a block, there's an unblock template to use. Socking with other IPs will just lead to longer blocks, and deservedly so. Enigmamsg 00:02, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- This is getting very off-topic now, but you, as with others, need to look more carefully at what you are doing. The edits made by [15] consist of periodic bursts of metal-related articles that are GF edits, such as [16] but also inane school-related vandalism such as this [17] and this [18]. It has exactly the appearance of what the last user said it was - an account used in a public library by multiple users.
- There is no 'socking' going on here, I have been reverting vandalism that was being persistently restored by myopic users. Somebody else has finally noticed what they have been doing, so that will no longer be necessary. 86.177.26.58 (talk) 00:15, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- This is clear block evasion. As for the IP, it can be seen that one disruptive user was using it weeks apart. It deserved to be blocked, and should never have been unblocked. Enigmamsg 00:45, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- I was reverting vandalism (now thankfully gone), and no more than that. That is not a blockable offence. 86.177.26.58 (talk) 00:47, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- It is when no one else agreed that it was vandalism. You were blocked, and then you evaded the block by using IPs. That's another blockable offense. Enigmamsg 00:59, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, one of the users who was reverting the vandalism has now noticed what he was doing and has now removed the incorrect link: [19]. It wasn't a case that nobody agreed that it was vandalism, but that they were carelessly reverting to the vandalised version, not this [20] previous version, which is obviously what they intended, despite my edit summaries of 'rvv' as well as other more explicit text. This: [21] is off-topic and was never in the article before a few days ago, thereafter various users carelessly reverted it back, multiple times, despite my warnings. This: [22] was in the article for a long time and is at least relevant, and had anyone ever restored back to that, there would have been no problem.86.177.26.58 (talk) 01:24, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- You mean one of the users reverting you. And yes, I saw that he changed his mind. At the time you were blocked, no one agreed with you, and then you continued to edit war with an IP and make posts on talk pages and on the 3RR board. As I said, the unblock template is what you use if you disagree with your block. Enigmamsg 01:43, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

- (outdent - replying to Enigmaman)
- It is not a case of changing of minds at all. The link was newly inserted into the article by an anon IP [23] who admitted he was mistaken [24]. It was subsequently added back by an anon vandal using a Blackberry (probably User:Wiki libs, but that's tangential). Of the users who reverted back to the Blackberry vandal, User:2005 had already explicitly came out against Yahoo in the strongest possible terms [25], Rray has realised his mistake [26], Ioeth was merely following up your report, while Hazir has stated (on Talk for that page) that a discussion of ODP links should go on at WP:EL - and it follows from his comments that while he might restore the OPD link, he certainly wouldn't be restoring that ridiculous Yahoo vandalism, except in error. Unfortunately none of the users checked what they were doing, and hence I reverted the vandalism three times. 86.177.26.58 (talk) 01:56, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Use of DMOZ links over Yahoo links - Please explain
Ioeth, I see that you gave me a warning over the practice of replacing DMOZ links with Yahoo links. I do not care for DMOZ, nor do many other people because of questionable actions by DMOZ editors putting spam and leaving outdated materials in their directory.
Therefore, I replaced DMOZ links with Yahoo links as per the wikipedia spam blocking project rules: Wikipedia Spam Reduction Project
I demand an explanation as to why I cannot use Yahoo Directory links when Wikipedia clearly states that Yahoo directory can be used as an alternative to DMOZ.

Accused AGAIN by the Greek editors
Hello Ioeth, After this unjust accusation that I got from Athenean at (User_talk:Moreschi#Sulmues.3DGuildenrich) and that Moreschi rejected, I am getting this other one from Alexikoua here (Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Sarandioti). I have been harassed so many times by the Greek editors, it’s not even funny anymore. As an impartial admin could you please intervene? I am really upset and frustrated with their insistance to get me banned from Wikipedia. I am really being harassed by them. I have already notified Sandstein and I will notify EdJohnston. Thank you! Sulmues (talk) --Sulmues 14:59, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Ioeth, thank you for that list of reporting tools. I need to guide properly the editors who want to report me. --sulmues (talk) 13:22, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- Since neutrality is an issue, know both sides diff Here given user Sulmues is accusing me and Athenean and Alexikoua of a conspiracy against Albanians, among other things. Read it all if you will and check out the articles Origin of the Albanians and their sources.Megistias (talk) 14:33, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- In that paragraph there is not one single accusation of conspiracy. I am presenting the facts. That paragraph asserts that you and Athenean are working to make sure that the theory that the Albanian language descends from Illyrian language be minimized in Wikipedia. Athenean made sure to blank 72 references three times for that (([[30], [31], and [32]). You can enjoy reading my defense from the Greek editor's accusation, Alexikoua, that I am a sockpuppet here --sulmues (talk) 14:54, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- You illustrate how much you have an adamant belief in this issue and your other positions on history. Also those references you linked are from 1927 and generally outdated. But lets keep this out of this talk page and civil.Megistias (talk) 15:23, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that you turned down two requests today to protect this page. Considering the BLP article has been vandalized by anon IPs over 15 times in the last week and seven times yesterday (within the last 24 hours at the time of the request), could you provide some guidance at to what the level of vandalism needs to be for protection? Perhaps RPP is routinely turned down if the evidence is not within the last 12 hours? Ash (talk) 19:55, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- You are correct in your last statement. The reason I declined protection at this time was because there had been no vandalism since yesterday. The protection policy dictates that pages are only semi-protected if they present a significant BLP risk, are actively being overrun with vandalistic edits from a variety of editors (that are not easily blocked), or are consistently the targets of long-term vandalism. If the report had been filed in the middle of that vandalism spree that happened yesterday, it probably would have been accepted and the page protected. Hey Ioeth, I'm having a bit of an issue. When I was doing the planning for the meetup, Big Ed's came up as a great spot for a Sunday lunch. I don't quite understand this username block. In what way is "porn historian" an objectionable name, any more than, say, "war historian", "religion historian", or "really stupid joke historian"? It's not titillating, nasty, insulting, or offensive (other than that the existence of porn is offensive to some). --jpgordon::==( o ) 18:28, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

I was in the process of leaving this comment on UAA but I edit conflicted with the report's removal since you indeffed the user: User's single edit seems to be constructive, and the username is more likely to represent a field of dentistry than a company or organisation. I think indef blocking the user without discussion is a bit hasty. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 19:28, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

- (edit conflict) I noticed the article, but it didn't seem to me to be an advertisement; I didn't see a mention of a company similar to their username in the article either, but I remember seeing the name Hamid Shafie, so the google hit makes it pretty straightforward after all. Oh, and I have a few questions about it (I read WP:ROLLBACK but some things I didn't understand):
- I don't understand "Mass rollback" because it only says [Rollback] on the most recent edit in page history, What does it mean?
- Is huggle a completely new web browser?
Sorry for bothering you. Mr.Kennedy1 talk 23:18, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- Mass rollback isn't a different tool, it just means rolling back a bunch of non-vandalism edits using the rollback feature. Rollback is typically only supposed to be used to revert vandalism, but it may be used in other circumstances where a large number of non-vandalism reverts need to be done, as long as the community supports it. Huggle is a standalone application; I wouldn't really call it a web browser, though. It's kinda like a browser built just for Wikipedia with the ability to handle large amounts of vandalism. Let me know if you have any other questions! Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 13:41, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

This page was created as a supporting page to two product listings currently being maintained on Wikipedia... 1) List of "Real-time Operating Systems" 2) List of "Operating Systems". This is a product that should be explained, similar to others in these lists such as VxWorks. This OS has been used extensively in avionics for over 15 years. I tried to follow Wikipedia guidelines for the entry by keeping the information factual as well as providing external links to various industry related references. I welcome any feedback on adjusting the page as needed so Wikipedia readers can click on the Deos entry in the OS and RTOS list and get more information on what Deos is.
Also, I can no longer see the Deos page because a redirect has been added to the page called DDC-I, Inc., which is now also marked for possible deletion. Please note this page was also created with the intent to provide supporting information. I welcome your input for changes to both of these pages. 4zehcnej8 (talk) 22:21, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
- Deos was not deleted, it was redirected to the company page as it did not meet the criteria for having a standalone article. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 22:30, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Twinkle merge
Quick question for you: Would you be up to the programming task of merging TW and Friendly into one tool as discussed if consensus goes in favor of a merge? SchuminWeb (Talk) 02:02, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- Absolutely, it wouldn't be that hard. I've actually been wanting to develop new version of both integrated into one tool for a while now, but have run into a few roadblocks. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 16:57, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- What kinds of roadblocks? The path seems clear consensus-wise, as no one has really expressed anything saying "no" except for that the clock and the tabs might possibly want to be spun out as a separate tool. So are these roadblocks technical or are they how-to-handle-this kinds of roadblocks? SchuminWeb (Talk) 23:02, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think the consensus a week after the final push is to merge the tools as Twinkle, though as the original proposer, I shouldn't be the one closing that discussion. Wondering if you could (A) look it over and close the discussion, and (B) merge the tools? SchuminWeb (Talk) 21:15, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Hey Ioeth. I've assigned an OTRS ticket to you, as it regarded a block you made. If you'd like me to continue handling it, that's fine to. Someguy1221 (talk) 09:12, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll take a look at it right now. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 13:20, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Friendly
Hi again! You were thinking about adding {{YGM}} to Friendly, have you considered doing this? Also, where are the original modules for Friendly located? /HeyMid (contributions) 19:36, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

David William Linder
You deleted the article about David Linder. David William Linder has filed a motion in the United States District Court, Southern District of Indiana, for injuctive relief ordering wikipedia.org to post his side of the story on Operation Web Trypt, with Wikipedia.org and/or Wikileaks.org as Defendant. I urge you to defend his freedom of speech and publish a medical report David Linder believes will exonerate him. schoolblock/anonblock
Hi,
do you happen to remember why you removed schoolblock and anonblock from twinklewarn some time ago?
Cheers, Amalthea 18:04, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yup, because they aren't WP:UW compatible. Also, both of those templates are written so that they make sense when a blocked anonymous user clicks the "edit" button, rather than to just be spammed on the user's talk page. Feel free to add them back if you think there is a need. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 22:15, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
Remaking the Jazwares page
Hey, can I re-make the Jazwares page, because I already know to much about that Toy company and plus I will make it better. 98.148.230.220 (talk) 04:49, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
how do i reinstate the Nurun article and edit it for compliance?
Can't seem to edit or add a new page for Nurun. Please advise on what I need to do. Already know what needs to be done with the content to make it compliant. Thanks in advance.

Answer on EW noticeboard
Hello,
I wonder if you can read my (little) answer on the EW noticeboard or on my Talk Page: [35], and maybe take a look on the articles cited by Jasper Deng:
- Marinid dynasty, disruptive edits started on December 2010, the current version is the one edited by Bokpasa (no discussion, no justification, references deletion & OR). this edit's comment is particularly interesting.
- Almoravid dynasty: disruptive edits started on December 2010, same remark about the current version
- Same remarks about the articles Almohad caliphate and Saadi dynasty.
By the same way, you can easily see that I didn't add/remove information from these articles while reverting the IP's edits, I was just putting the article on its pre-vandalism version [36] [37] [38].
But thanks for protecting these pages, now Bokpasa has to be identified to edit them (as he's doing, but I suppose that I can't revert him :) ). For information, this user is particularly known for his vandalism on Morocco related articles, you can take a look on his previous blocking and TP history [39][40] (you can easily see that he was blocked for disruptive edits on the same articles than right now). Note that he's also blocked on ES.Wiki and FR.Wiki for excessive vandalism... on that same articles than here...
My question: Can I put these articles under their pre-EW form (2010/12 versions)? Or should I let Bokpasa act as he want?
Btw, I also explained on the EW board that my previous reverts were motivated by a quasi-approval on the ANI board [41] [42] [43], but I suppose that nor you nor Jasper Deng were aware about that before stating that I was involved in an EW.
Thanks in advance for the answer.
nb: As I wrote on my TP, I don't contest my blocking, I just need some "clarifications".

- See this section on HJ Mitchell's talk page. Ongoing issue, there's been 4 admins protecting at least 1 of those articles listed within the last week. - Penwhale | dance in the air and follow his steps 17:40, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Why are you nominating that article for deletion, what is wrong with you? --Camilo Sanchez (talk) 20:44, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- I wasn't the one who nominated it (in fact, I've already voted keep), but as long as the discussion remains open, the notice needs to stay at the top of the article. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle) 20:45, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

New Orleans MediaWiki developers' meetup in October
Hi, Matt! Thanks for your contributions to the Wikimedia & MediaWiki community, especially with Twinkle.
I think you might enjoy and benefit from joining us at the New Orleans MediaWiki hackathon, October 14-16. We'll be working on infrastructure that supports gadgets, including ResourceLoader, AMICUS, and Wikimedia Labs. It would be very valuable to have script and gadget developers, such as you, there to participate, give feedback, test, and hack. If you're interested, please put your name on the attendees list at that wiki page. Thanks!

- No, it's not a matter of ownership. Generally, this being one of those cases, domain names are not allowed as usernames per the Wikipedia username policy. If you would like to change your username to one that conforms with the policy, please visit WP:CHU or you can simply create a new username to use if you wish. Please let me know which option you would prefer. Thanks! Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle) 18:07, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
