Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 19:27, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good to know! Thanks!

Mac mini

[edit]

You said, "Please go back to the Mac Mini page and uppercase all the m's in Mac Mini that you undid. The M is officially capitalized. Thanks." That is actually not true. Look at any page on Apple's web site. And I did not change all the m's in the Mac mini page I just unified them (save references where I fixed them to match the reference however it was) based on what Apple has on their site. Please see the discussion page.173.50.225.45 (talk) 05:44, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Um--you also reverted all my other edits including all the references cleanups! Please do not remove such content. Thanks 173.50.225.45 (talk) 05:49, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No I did not remove anything.

Thanks for uploading File:Oxford academy.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 05:28, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Oxford academy.gif)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Oxford academy.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 01:24, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of 6FO

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 6FO requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -Porchcrop (talk|contributions) 09:35, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • As it says above, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. I've added it back. I suggest you read WP:MUSICBIO, which sets out the guidelines for including an article on a musician. I don't think your guy satisfies any of these conditions, does he?  —SMALLJIM  10:21, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Notability aside, one of the biggest problems I had with that article was that you stated that some of the information on the page was false. This is a HUGE no-no, and goes against one of the fundemental Wikipedia policies of accurate information. Please read the policy on Biography of Living Persons. Also, as you are affiliated with him, creating the article is a conflict of interest (COI) - Please also read the policy here: WP:COI
  • Meaning that I haven't replaced it yet because I'm working on it. All the information about him was true, but needed a little correcting about the history. Thanks for deleting a page that I now have to restart because you don't understand. --Jerzyboy455 (talk) 08:17, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
