Hey, about the user box, I want the color(all, except border which is blue) to be green other wise than that, I know how to use a PC or Mac(BOO!) so I can take care of the font size and stuff. I like it like Ks0stm's user boxes (excluding colors). Micro101 (talk) 00:07, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Micro 101

Welcome
Hi, and welcome to WikiProject Articles for creation! We are a group of editors who work together on the Articles for creation and Images for upload pages.
A few tips that you might find helpful:
- Please take time to fully read the reviewers' instructions before reviewing submissions.
- The project's discussion board is the best place to ask for help or advice. You might like to watchlist this page, and you are encouraged to take part in any discussion that comes up.
- Article submissions that need reviewing can be found in Category:Pending AfC submissions and there is also a useful list which is maintained by a bot.
- You might wish to add {{AFC status}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions. There is also a project userbox. If you haven't done so already, please consider adding your name to the list of participants.
- Several of our members monitor an IRC channel, #wikipedia-en-afc connect, and you are most welcome to join in.
Once again, welcome to the project. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:10, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
2010 WikiCup Signups Reconfirmation!
To ensure that everyone who signed up is still committed to participating in the 2010 WikiCup, it is required that you remove your name from this list! By removing your name, you are not removing yourself from the WikiCup. This is simply a way for the judges to take note of who has not yet reconfirmed their participation. If you have not removed your name from that list by December 30th, 2009 (by 23:59 (UTC)) then your name will be removed from the WikiCup.
It's worth noting the rules have changed, likely after you signed up. The changes made thus far are:
- Mainspace and/or portal edits will not be awarded points at all.
- Did you know? articles (which were worth 5 points last year) will now be worth 10 points.
- Good articles (which were worth 30 points last year) will now be worth 40 points.
- Valued pictures will be now awarded points, however the amount (5 or 10 points) is still being discussed.
- Featured lists (which were worth 30 points last year) will now be worth 40 points.
- Featured portals (which were worth 25 points last year) will now be worth 35 points.
- Featured articles (which were worth 50 points last year) will now be worth 100 points.
- Featured topics (which were worth 10 points per article last year) will now be worth 15 points per any article in the topic that you were a major contributor to.
- Good topics (which were worth 5 points per article last year) will now be worth 10 points per any article in the topic that you were a major contributor to.
- In the news will still be awarded points, however the amount (5 or 10 points) is still being discussed.
If you have any final concerns about the WikiCup's rules and regulations, please ask them now, before the Cup begins to avoid last minute problems. You may come to the WikiCup's talk page, or any of the judge's user talk pages. We're looking forwards to a great 2010 WikiCup! Afc reviewing
Please don't take this the wrong way, but I noticed that you reviewed Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Grynch stating that it didn't have any reliable sources when in fact the subject did in fact have coverage from two reliable sources. It's good that you put it on hold, but in the future please try to be a little more thorough.
I also saw a couple AfC's that you put on hold that didn't have any reliable sources, which should be a quick fail not a hold. Sometimes it helps me to have the Reviewing instructions in front of me when I review.
Anyway, this is just advice, do with it as you wish. I hope to see you back at AfC soon! Have a good day. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 05:17, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Joseph E. Davies
I have been editing my grandfather's page, Joseph E. Davies, as I believe it was totally "produced" by Tim Tzouliadis to promote his book. I have been tracing his foot notes in this book THE FORSAKEN and find that so far over 50% are incorrect or taken out of context. As I can not totally delete his work, I have simply added -- in the beginning -- my grandfather's resume from 1951 four years before he died and hope that stands for itself. Thank you. Changes To Word Of Faith Article
The issue was not whether or not the subject matter was contentious, the entire article is contentious. The issue was that the commentary there was misplaced. The first section is for an outline of the theology in question, and the excerpts we are discussing are more like criticism.
There are quite lengthy sections that criticize the view already. Infact they make up the majority of the article even without the excerpts i had removed. I wouldn't have any problem with those same passages being placed somewhere else in the article.
Also, I haven't seen too many matters like this actually resolved on Wikipedia through discussion, particularly where you have strong partisans on each side. But as i have said above, the issue is not even what was written, but rather, where it was written. The theology in question is not even given an opportunity to objectively present it's beliefs before it is criticized, and then it is criticized for the rest of the article.

He/she made those rollback/admin requests before asking about it, its pretty common for newbies to request adminship without reading about them too deeply, its because anywhere else on the web, forums and such, adminship has more prestige and is easier to attain, some people assume its the same here. Bomb Iran - question
Hi, Fetchcomms. Thanks for your kind welcome message. I see that someone else has left a rejection note on my "Bomb Iran" submission, and I'm not sure what to do next. S/He suggests shortening the name, and adding something about how the parody was used in the 2008 Presidential campaign. I know John McCain sang the song's hook line a couple times, and the opposition folks used that to claim he's a war-monger, but I don't know when or where he did that, or other information that's needed to make a thorough entry about it. And I still can't find anything on that page for responding. So I need to accept your offer of help, please. Thank you. CalWriter88 04:15, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

HADAS submission
Hi - I recently submitted a page for HADAS (Hendon & District Archaeological Society) which has been put on hold. It was previously declined as I copied some stuff about the society from our web page ( sorry - my mistake!). I rewrote it and resubmitted it but the comment is that some parts are still too similar. If you could tell me which bits, I'm happy to have another go. There is also a comment about a possible COI, presumably as I'm a Trustee and a committee member. Help here would also be appreciated. Thanks.
Thank you for your help yesterday
Thank you for your help yesterday with the proposed article Meurig Bowen. Following a further review, this has been declined again. The sticking point appears to be establishing notability. I have added a note to the talk page for the article but am not clear if this will be seen again so am putting it here as well. Hope this is OK.
My logic regarding MB’s notability goes like this
The Cheltenham Music Festival is a major classical music festival in the UK. After the the BBC Proms it’s up there with Edinburgh and Aldeburgh, both of which it predates. The festival passes the notability criterion itself as it has its own page on Wikipedia.
MB is the artistic director of this prestigious festival. This establishes his notability as otherwise he wouldn’t have been put in charge of it. (Or else you could argue that his notability was established on being put in charge of it). His two predecessors as director have Wikipedia entries. At the bottom of the entry of his predecessor, Martyn Brabbins, MB is listed as his successor, with his name in red indicating that a page on Wikipedia has yet to be written about him, which is what I am trying to provide.
Many thanks for your assistance 82.133.125.198 (talk) 11:42, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

igloo
Hi Fetchcomms, and thanks for your interest in igloo. Before using the program, please read the following information carefully - failure to do so may result in your test access being revoked.
igloo is a JavaScript-powered, browser-based anti-vandalism tool, which means you do not have to download or install anything on your computer and it will work on multiple operating systems. However, it does mean that the performance relies on that of your browser and it may operate more slowly than downloaded programs. You must have either Mozilla Firefox 3+ or Google Chrome to use igloo, as it is currently incompatible with other browsers.
igloo relies on a system called iglooNet to assist you in finding and reverting vandalism. It is this system that transforms the program from a pretty version of recent changes to an actual anti-vandalism tool. Naturally, this is beyond the power of a client-side program, and igloo will regularly communicate with an external, non-Wikimedia server. Because of things like server logs, and the iglooNet abuse tracker, this may allow your IP address to be attached to your username - something which is otherwise impossible on Wikipedia. If you do not want this to happen, you MUST NOT USE IGLOO.
If you decide that you do want to test igloo, please keep in mind that it not wholly stable, and you may experience problems where it performs an invalid edit, or other unwanted action. If this happens, fix any mistakes you've made, apologise to anyone you've offended, and let me know. I don't take any responsibility for your use of the program - if you aren't willing to fix any errors, don't use it.
igloo is already quite powerful. The following is a simple guide to using the program:
- The igloo interface is similar to that of other software, including huggle. Recent changes appear on the left, and diffs appear on the right.
- igloo sorts diffs based on iglooNet data so that edits most likely to be vandalism are displayed first. You can press spacebar to view the top diff, or click on any diff to view it directly.
- When you find vandalism, press 'Q' or click the revert button to revert the change, and issue a warning to the user. igloo automatically issues the correct warning. It will ignore existing warnings that are more than 5 days old, and restart from the beginning.
- The iglooNet assertion system tags clean and dirty edits with colour coding - if it suspects an edit is vandalism, it will be flagged as red, and if it believes it to be clean, it will tag it green.
- At any time, you can re-review diffs you have already seen by pressing backspace or using the icons to move through the diff history.
If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or other feedback, I'd love to know. If you hate it, and won't be using it again, please let me know why - and I'll remove you from the test whitelist. If you now try and use igloo, you should find that it will allow you to use the program. Thanks, and good luck! Ale_Jrbtalk 00:06, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Goodbye (Re: Katerenka)
I know I'm not supposed to do this, but as it won't show, I'm doing it anyhow. I understand your decision but this is a loss to the community, however ineffective the system is. I think that you still have a little desire to come back, and maybe you will someday. You taught me an invaluable lesson last week, and you're one of those people that I immediately looked up to. I'm sorry that I didn't know you better. Thejadefalcon (or whoever else wants to) revert this as you wish.

Being Vandalised
Wow! I've looked through your talkpage and 'JAF3993' looks like he's a massive vandal and multiple account abuser! I bet he was trying to get loads of accounts and vote himself to be an Administrator! It looks like you're good at dealing with vandals!

Bomb Iran: A Musical Parody (updated)
Hi,
I just tried to add the new paragraph you requested on the talk page, but that page only allows me to edit the references. I did that, but the paragraph to which the references refer is still missing. How can I add the new text to the body of the article on that page? (If you can look at it on my user page, you'll see what I've added.)
I must seem pretty thick-headed, and apologize. I just can't seem to find the buttons or instructions to process things in this program. Thanks so much for your instructions and patience.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Bomb Iran: A Musical Parody (updated again)
Hey, thanks, FetchComms! Don't know why I didn't notice an EDIT tab atop the page! Anyway it's done. Just one thing that may be a problem... Some of my new references appear differently from the original group. I think I followed the same formatting, and can't figure out what I did wrong (but I'm sure it's my fault).
And... Do you want the MP3 (2,111 KB) of the song? Thanks! And, Merry Christmas, Fabulous Feast of Apollo, and Happy Krimble!

I wroting new posting for you message on Talk:Northwest Airlines Flight 253. Thanks you for psot mesage. Sorry my poor English.
Northwest Airlines Flight 253 made "In the News"
image
Please don't delete images from article without a cogent reason. At this point, without discussion. "we really don't need the image" is not a cogent reason. There has already been enough POV editing relating that person in that article, with deletion of sourced statements by a senior US official. Thanks.--Epeefleche (talk) 03:53, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
Hello. Because of your many edits about Northwest Flight 253, consider helping on the new article on the NTCb. Suomi Finland 2009 (talk) 18:17, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
hi
Hi from me. Sorry about the test. The counter seemed too seductive. It was practically an invitation to test it. Blanking things out is bad so I tried to reverse it as quickly as humanly possible. Just as cussing and harsh words cannot be undone, can the counter be undone and reduced to 4? Suomi Finland 2009 (talk) 00:29, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps
If you agree with Hier's change to the Awlaki image caption, as I do, since you last changed the caption in the article you might want to do the honors and make the change?
I'm concerned that the POV editors continue to seek deletion of the picture/reference to Awlaki without any basis other than POV.--67.177.166.246 (talk) 00:36, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

I didn't know that was vandalism. I'm really learning how to be a member of Wikipedia by trial and error(it gets ugly sometimes). Oh, can you contact Ks0stm for me, he doesn't seem to be responding to my messages. I've been trying to tell him that his status bar at the top is stuck on online. Have a happy and safe new year!--Micro101 (talk) 19:01, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Talking about guidelines, could you direct me to some that could help me out?(I would prefer editing) They would really help me out since I couldn't find any. Anyway, have you seen the movie Avatar? I was great, especcially in 3-D! Oh, instead of trial and error, I just click edit this page and see how they did that table, box, etc.

RfA Thanks
Dear Fetchcomms, here is a little note to say thank you for your kind vote on my request for adminship which failed with a final result of (40/19/12).
Thank you for your participation in my RfA which I withdrew after concerns of my knowledge of policy. Special thanks are owed to Coffee, who defended me throughout and whom I cannot thank enough for the nomination; to 2over0 for being supportive and helpful; to A Stop at Willoughby for the thorough, thoughtful and articulate support rationale; to IP69.226.103.13 for maintaining composure and for a pleasant interaction on my talk page and, last but not least, to Juliancolton who was good enough to close the RfA at my request and, frankly, because an editor whom I respect so much found the time to support me! If the need for more admins at the main page is still apparent in a few months, I may try again. Thank you all for a relatively drama-free RfA and for providing me with much material from which to learn from my mistakes. You're all welcome to drop by my talk page any time. God save the Queen Wiki! HJMitchell You rang? 18:34, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

The 2010 WikiCup begins tomorrow!
Welcome to the biggest WikiCup Wikipedia has yet seen! Round one will take place over two months, and finish on February 26. There is only one pool, and the top 64 will progress. The competition will be tough, as more than half of the current competitors will not make it to round 2. Details about scoring have been finalized and are explained at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring. Please make sure you're familiar with the scoring rules, because any submissions made that violate these rules will be removed. Like always, the judges can be reached through the WikiCup talk pages, on their talk page, or over IRC with any issues concerning anything tied to the Cup. We will keep in contact with you via weekly newsletters; if you do not want to receive them, please remove yourself from the list here. Conversely, if a non-WikiCup participant wishes to receive the newsletters, they may add themselves to that list. Well, enough talk- get writing! Your submission's page is located here. Details on how to submit your content is located here, so be sure to check that out! Once content has been recognized, it can be added to your submissions page, from which our bot will update the main score table. Remember that only articles worked on and nominated during the competition are eligible for points. Have fun, and good luck! Garden, iMatthew, J Milburn, and The ed17 19:18, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
