Hi Elektrik Shoos. I see you tagged for speedy deletion R&D Vehicle Components Ltd; however, given this edit by the article's creator, I thought best to userfy said article; hope you don't mind. Salvio Let's talk 'bout it! 12:06, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Mistake
Hey, you left me a warning for an article (Village Pump) that I've never even seen before. I'm pretty sure this is a mistake. Thanks, Endofskull (talk) 23:33, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, Huggle hiccup. Disregard. elektrikSHOOS 23:35, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

This post meant a lot to me, and I want to apologize for aggravating you as I did. Bye. 98.82.0.102 (talk) 05:24, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

You didn't even give me time to finish editing my very first page creation before you marked it for deletion. Crazy man...what is your problem? Give a guy at least 2 minutes... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ermoder (talk • contribs) 01:54, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- I assume you're referring to Jockiem Joyner. When I saw the page it was a merely a brief description of the artist and a brief discography. I see about 40 or so of pages similar to what yours looked like get created by new editors daily, and 90% of them are usually deleted for the reason I tagged yours - because most people just look to put some up some brief promotional about their favorite band without further expansion. I see now that's not what you intended, and I apologize for hastily tagging it. Since it appears you've remade the article at a new spelling, I've turned the old one into a redirect for you. Thanks for editing. elektrikSHOOS 04:13, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- However, in the future, when dealing with other editors, please remember to assume good faith. Any undue hostility is completely unnecessary when dealing with other editors. It creates unnecessary tension. Please read over WP:EQ. Thanks. elektrikSHOOS 04:15, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- At the same time, you should probably have a look at WP:INSPECTOR and remember it's best to patrol from the back of the log, as it pisses people off big time if you tag their article 2 minutes after creation. Take a look at WP:NPP. Trust me, I've been here long enough to have seen it repeatedly :). Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 21:57, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

2009 World Series
July 2010
Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to 2009 World Series has been reverted, as it introduced negative or controversial biographical material without providing a reliable source for this information. Wikipedia requires that all such material be sourced to address the issue of libel. Thank you. elektrikSHOOS 19:36, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
The explanation made no sense nor was it grounded on any basis of reality. The source (ESPN.com) is completely reliable and there was nothing of a 'biographical' nature in the edit. Don't see how libel is an issue at all. Do you even know what that means? Get a clue. It seems like there is more than one comment on this page taking issue with your haste and questionable interfering. Back off. Tjrover (talk) 01:23, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
- Huggle must have glitched. I might have hit the revert button, thinking I was rolling back on a bio article, and it decided to revert that one instead because it was the next (or last) on the list. My apologies for any inconvenience. It was clearly in error. (There's also now a biographical article somewhere on Wikipedia that's still got bad content on it.) But please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors. Hostility is unnecessary. elektrikSHOOS 03:59, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Explain how the quote is out of context, and how it is referenced earlier, as you put it. I've read the letter in its entirety, and Gingrich is quite clear on his belief that Muslims should not be permitted to build a mosque there until Saudi Arabia builds churches. And nothing alluding to that occurs anywhere else in the article. Newyorkmuslim (talk) 06:58, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- Stop readding the quote. The rule on Wikipedia is bold, revert, discuss - if you want the quote in the article, bring it to the talk page as it was contested. elektrikSHOOS 07:00, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- I did discuss it on the talk page, and I don't see anyone contesting it. The first person to bring it up wasn't me - I agreed with him. The person who keeps deleting it offers no explanation at all for doing so and actually isn't participating on the talk page. It's the first paragraph from a letter by Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of The House. The paragraph summarizes his entire argument for opposing the mosque. Thus, not only is the quote from an important person on his views on the subject, but it is the best quote to summarize his reason for opposing the mosque. By all of WP's guidelines, it belongs in this article - perhaps more so than any of the quotes cited. Newyorkmuslim (talk) 16:30, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi electrik shoes. I see that you've added the shortcut WP:TILDE to Wikipedia:Signatures. However, Special:WhatLinksHere/WP:TILDE shows that it is somewhat little used, so please try to gain consensus on the talk page before adding it in, because Wikipedia:Signatures is an important WP guideline. Other edits
Tx for your help w/this editor who left a "cite needed" tag where there was a cite ... would you have a moment to glance at his earliest edits, all redirects? They seem off to me ... but I would appreciate someone else taking a look. (BTW, on another article, he left tags as well that did not apply, and even deleted a ref and then tagged the sentence as ref needed ...). Tx.--Epeefleche (talk) 08:06, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not an admin, so I can't make any binding changes (blocks, etc) but I'll take a look from the outside opinion perspective.
I'll report him to WP:AIV as a vandalism-only account if I see a pattern.elektrikSHOOS 08:20, 9 August 2010 (UTC)- The redirects appear to be in good faith. All of them are either abbreviations, or in the case of Kristen Perry, one of the people involved in the case. I'll let him know about using an edit summary, as that would certainly help in the future. elektrikSHOOS 08:24, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- I'd be careful in the future about using such harsh templates when you're not sure if the edits are vandalistic. Especially the level-3 one. Try not to WP:BITE. elektrikSHOOS 08:33, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. Frankly, three were more than three instances of problematic errors along the lines of deleting appropriate refs, after doing so tagging material as not having a ref, tagging an article w/many refs as not having a ref, tagging a sentence with a ref as not having a ref. It is a judgment call, and I'm careful to exercise my judgment. But looking back over it, this appears to be precisely the situation that IMHO the template was meant to apply to. Given the number of such instances, and the percentage of the editors' edits that fell into that category (surprisingly high), it was mild. Again, IMHO of course, and you understandably could believe that I what I see as a duck is something else.--Epeefleche (talk) 16:46, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Please untag the 'Pageant Films' article immediately. It appears you tagged this article within minutes of its creation - while it is still being edited.
The article's creator is familiar with all the issues you have highlighted and is satisfied that the integrity of Wikipedia will not be compromised by the article's final content. Pageant office (talk) 02:35, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

- Why would I remove the COI tags from an article when you were blocked for having a promotional username that mirrors the name of the article? In any case, there are only two ways maintenance tags are removed from an article - one, if someone addresses the issues that the tags bring up, or two, if someone provides a good reason why they shouldn't be there. (And no, 'you put them on too soon' is not a good reason.) elektrikSHOOS 07:03, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Point? Borderline, but perhaps. Who exactly is the banned sock?
I'm definitely not a banned sock. If you have reason to believe that Herbert1979 is a banned user, please inform those in a position to act on the situation. --Onorem♠Dil 06:13, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

- I've also already acted on the situation; the user was blocked by an admin and a case is open at WP:SPI. Feel free to comment if you'd like. elektrikSHOOS 06:15, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry. I hadn't noticed that an admin had bothered to block the user already. I was a bit confused how you'd gone from arguing against the report at AIV, but then removing the comments as being from a banned user. Sorry for any misunderstanding. --Onorem♠Dil 06:20, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, that might have been me. When I was commenting at WP:AIV I was completely unaware of the sock situation. I only was alerted of it after I accidentally misspelled his name and discovered User:Herbert1989. After that... well... quack. elektrikSHOOS 06:22, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Questions about procedure
Hi, Elektrik Shoos. The discussion about the Klaus Ebner's case was archived, but apparently there is anyone in charge of surveiling that probation time, of reviewing the relevance of those articles, of informing other wikipedias, nor of the check-user process... As I don't know the procedure of a large wikipedia such as en.wp, I am wondering if everything is right now, or if the 'case' was closed too soon. Can you give me some advice, please? Thanx --Xabier Cid (talk) 15:39, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

my band integrity
Hello Ryan, my band integrity, formed long before MTV hipsters coined the phrase "metalcore". Like it or not, we have nothing in common with that modern style of music known as "metalcore". If you had taken a moment to actually listen to our music before imposing our page with your own personal musical taste, perhaps then you'd hear that we sound nothing like those metalcore groups. Please cease from further placing false information on my bands wiki page. all the best, dwid hellion —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dwid hellion (talk • contribs) 17:35, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
Hello Elektrik Shoos. I looked at the auto-archived ANI thread about Ebner. I perceive there is consensus for a six-month topic ban, but the language about Arbcom should probably be removed, to avoid lengthening the discussion. I don't think it should be necessary to find an admin to oversee the probation; community bans are enforced by the community. If these clarifications are OK with you, I will look into closing the thread. If you believe the thread reached any conclusions other than that, please say what they are. I think the SPI board will probably agree to do indefinite blocks for all the mentioned socks if you give them a full list. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 05:57, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- That's absolutely fine, I'm the one who mentioned the bit about ArbCom being unnecessary in the first place. Thanks. elektrikSHOOS 06:13, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

It now appears that no checkuser will be run. I am considering blocking all the accounts listed in the SPI, but would like to get some feedback first. Does anyone have a list of the socks that were admitted by Klaus Ebner? EdJohnston (talk) 16:06, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Never mind, I misread the SPI. If anyone has advice about blocking, though, it's still appreciated. EdJohnston (talk) 16:09, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi! I just want to give you my personal opinions about this user. I got a feeling saying that this was a troll. As you may already know, he wrote "The material removed is libellous biography based on untrue and poorly sourced information. This has been reported to Wikipedia for removal and a complaint has been laid." in the edit summary repeated times. Actually, if you look at the BLP-notice at Talk:Huljich brothers (the white box), you can see that he cited everything that is written in that notice. The user in question has not edited using this account since July 19, 2010, which also rises the question whether this was a temporary troll. I also want to thank you for your help with that conflict. But I think I should've reported this user at WP:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring. But it's not so easy to make the right choice at the time the conflict was on-going. Thank you! /HeyMid (contributions) 15:52, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

- If your boss is Olga and she asked you to make the article, you shouldn't. See WP:COI. You should generally refrain from editing subjects you're affiliated with because it's difficult to maintain a neutral point of view. On Wikipedia, it's preferred that someone unrelated to the topic edit it, as this allows for independent verification and a neutral article. You're, of course, free to edit anything on Wikipedia that you'd like (that you're not directly affiliated with). I do appreciate your honesty. If you have any other questions or if any of this is confusing (sometimes my mind goes faster than my typing fingers) please let me know. elektrikSHOOS 19:56, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

I'd recommend you read over Wikipedia:Your first article to get an idea of how articles are written on Wikipedia. I really appreciate it, and will happily contact you again if I have other questions. Hope you have a great day! Thanks again. Leigh Burdett (talk) 18:30, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- So, where it stands now, do we see if someone from one of those three groups comes along to edit it, or may someone from another entity come along and edit it? Also, not sure what is missing on the references you fixed for me. The format looks right according to the notes to refer to. Is it that the Visit Jacksonville site needs a format or is ineligible, or is something wrong with the 3 you moved for me? Thanks again for your guidance. Leigh Burdett (talk) 23:46, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- I looked at the Visit Jacksonville site and I'm not entirely convinced it's a reliable source, so I removed it. The improvement that needs to be made to the references now is to switch them to use inline citations instead. See WP:CITE. I trust you've read over WP:COI given your response above. If you have suggestions to improve the article you're more than welcome to address them on the article's talk page, but I'd refrain from editing the article directly unless it's fairly simple and straightforward edits (copyediting, adjusting blatant factual inaccuracies, et cetera) as any more extensive editing might be seen as self-promotion. You can solicit help from other members of WikiProject Florida to help you out. (Since I'm not a Jacksonville native I doubt I'd be able to add anything especially helpful other than the bit of cleanup work I've already done.) elektrikSHOOS 00:00, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

I've put some shine on a page you marked for COI, notability and refimprove. Have a look and see if you want to amend. The refs still need work but the COI/peacock language is dealt with. The band appears to maintain notability even with the promotional stuff cleared away. Now if only someone like our COI editor could reliably source it for us... --Whoosit (stalk) 04:31, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:33, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Edsel (band) deletion
Hi. I posted a bunch of references for the Edsel (band) entry that was tagged for deletion. I hope you consider the references enough to decide not to have the entry deleted.
I originally posted the entry because I saw some references/dead (red) links to the band in some other Wikipedia entries.
Just as a point of reference, the entry for the band Chisel (band) has zero references, and is not tagged for deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nickthap (talk • contribs) 06:35, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

Banner Question
Hello, I was wondering if you make a banner for me like the one you made for WP:CHICAGO. This one will be for Wikipedia:WikiProject Virginia and the one requirements is that it includes the Seal of Virginia somewhere, the blue and white of the State Flag and kinda looks something like this. The rest is completely up to you and even if you want to change up the colors, that is fine, the State Seal kinda ties it all together. It would need to, of course, link to Wikipedia:WikiProject Virginia. If this is something you would like to do, great. If you can't, please let me know. This isn't something that has to be done immediately, but at your leisure. Thanks and Have a Good Day...Neutralhomer • Talk • 05:02, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Sarah Corrigan
Why did you added notability tag on Sarah Corrigan page? I'm working hard to add some information about women's rugby, looking and citing a lot of sources... You should get well this page, not suggest its removal! Killer4979 (talk) 13:24, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- It's unclear to me if referees meet the notability guideline for biographies and athletes, which is why I tagged it. However, it should be made very clear that I'm not immediately suggesting its removal; if I had, I would have tagged it for deletion. I merely tagged it to raise the question and to have a discussion about it. Please don't misunderstand me. elektrikSHOOS 19:20, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy
Hello Elektrik Shoos. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The references provided are enough for A7, clearly been cited in what appear to be fairly reliable and independant sources. Take to AfD if required. Thank you. GedUK 20:17, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Theosophist
Dear Ryan! For Wikipedia I need an article from a magazine that is only holding by United Library in Evanston (Garrett), suburb of Chicago, worldwide. So I hope that you can help me, to get a copy of this article.
It is the magazine "The Theosophist", http://nucat.library.northwestern.edu/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?BBID=4538708 , volume 66 (1945), page 139 – there is the "Obituary - (II) - Bertram Keightley (1860-1944) – JL Davidge"
I will be very grateful if you could help me to get a copy of this obituary. Thank you very much, Doc Taxon (talk) 12:34, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Bob Ross Edit
Hello, just a comment about the reverted edit I made on the Bob Ross page: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Bob_Ross. The claim that it was deliberate vandalism is out of line, as all I changed was part of the following line: "Ross married again, this time to Jane. Jane died of cancer in 1993,[1] and Ross himself was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1994 after the conclusion of the 31st season of The Joy of Painting". I changed "31st" because it says right in the article that the show began in 1983, and that Ross had also spent 10 years in the military. Not sure how anyone could glean that his show was on for 31 years in light of those facts. I apologize for not citing anything when making the change, but I thought I was just fixing a typo. I'll leave the misleading information as is, but it's clearly incorrect. siege72
- Apologies for the tagging the edit as vandalism; the article is a frequent target for bad edits and I overreacted. However, 31 seasons is correct. The Joy of Painting didn't run on a one-season-per-year basis but rather with several seasons in a year, since the show ran weekly. elektrikSHOOS 19:49, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- No problem, thanks for the clarification. siege72
New welcome template
Check out the new Welcome Template I'm now currently using. Iamiyouareyou (talk) 15:28, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
So In my welcome template I have one problem and that is getting the user names to generate automatically. You wouldn't happen to know the code for that would you?
Iamiyouareyou (talk) 15:34, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I have no idea. My guess would be to look at an existing template, such as
{{welcome}}(EDIT: that template doesn't actually call for the user's name, try {{welcome-personal}} instead), and see how that one does it. If all else fails, you could head over to the help desk, ask how to do it and I'm sure that someone over there would be able to help you out. elektrikSHOOS 22:13, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the resources Ryan! I edited my first article this weekend and am already hooked, but there is so much to learn! I will definitely start reading through those resource links tonight. Since you were friendly enough to welcome me to Wikipedia, I'm hoping you might be willing to do me a small favor. I kind of dived into this whole editing thing and have made quite a few edits in the past few days. None of them have been reversed or deleted yet, so I assume that means I'm not doing anything too egregious. But if you have a few spare minutes, would possibly consider taking a quick look through my contribution history to see if there are any glaring red flags? If I'm doing something wrong, the sooner I know about it the better. I don't mean to imposition you, and hope that contacting you like this is not inappropriate.
Thanks again for the welcome and resources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hopelessgleek (talk • contribs) 22:47, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Your changes to Scott j. black
Please be aware of the following things.
- To remove BLPPROD you must provide a reference.
- It is considered real bad wiki-form to remove maintanance tags without resolving the underlying issues.
As such, I would like to offer you the opportunity to revert your changes to this article prior to my re-instating them. If you review the back history, you see that it was initially tagged with maintanance templates, then BLPProded, and now it's on the CSD track. I inserted the maintanance templates to give a new editor the opportunity to fix the article prior to it being deleted. In addition your discourteous edit summary comments do not encourage other editors to work with you. Hasteur (talk) 18:23, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
- Consensus also holds that when adding a lot of cleanup tags, it's probably best to only include the most pressing issues. The article in question had two deletion and 7 maintenance tags on it. This is the definition of a badge of shame and is a clear WP:BITE to the new editor creating that page. I also explained in the edit summary that since there's two deletion tags, it's likely best to keep the most pressing one (the CSD in this case) and readd the BLPPROD if the DB was denied. Also, haven't you ever heard of assuming good faith when dealing with other editors? elektrikSHOOS 22:47, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
- I would encourage you to look over WP:OVERTAGGING, which admittedly is an essay, but is still a useful thought. elektrikSHOOS 22:53, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi. I've taken your hoax tag off because it seems to be real, according to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/epcot/special-events/epcot-international-flower-and-garden-festival/schedule/. How accurate the info is, I don't know, but the film is mentioned by Disney. Over to you if you want to try another category or a prod. Peridon (talk) 12:26, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- The source used (an IMDB link) actually refers to a similar movie, though with a slightly different title (Tinker Bell and the Mysterious Winter Woods). Creating hoax articles with slight variations on existing titles has been a typical vandal tactic in the past and I tagged appropriately. I regret not having done any other research work. I don't see any other reason to tag for deletion, though the IMDB links should be updated. elektrikSHOOS 00:55, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- Nevermind, I've tagged it for a deletion discussion for WP:CRYSTAL and WP:V concerns. elektrikSHOOS 01:04, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Twinkle's rollback
Hi, Thanks for further explaining the twinkle rollback function to me recently, I had a related question that perhaps you can help me with, it seems that I no longer have the ability to rollback using twinkle as I was looking at ip edits today and to my surprise the 3 rollback functions were not there, the vandal and revert on history are gone also. now to my knowledge I have never abused this function or passed 1RR rule so I'm wondering it is something an admin can take away and if it is, how could I find out who did it and why?! I would appreciate your help if you know anything about this. Thanks :) Rmzadeh ► 00:04, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- Please ignore above question, apparently one of the gadgets had caused an issue and all my gadgets were turned off, fixed the setting. also found out that it is possible to be blacklisted in twinkle by an admin, happy I'm not :) Rmzadeh ► 00:22, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- No problem. You have to really misuse Twinkle to be blacklisted, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Most people who misuse Twinkle are problematic editors overall so they usually just get blocked from editing instead. Just stay within policy and you'll be fine. Also, Twinkle is very buggy, and in my experience things disappear a lot. elektrikSHOOS 02:09, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Changing another editor's signed comments
Generally speaking, it is considered exceptionally bad form to change another editor's words for any reason whatsoever, as you did here. There have been huge discussions on this very matter, and the strong consensus has been "no, never, not for any reason". You may ask the writer if you think the error that important, but you should not change it on your own. This is, of course, exactly the opposite of what you need to do in article space. The difference is that article space is not signed, and talk-page comments are. Bielle (talk) 06:22, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- Alright, that's fine. If you look at the discussion immediately above this one, the editor in question did give implied permission, albeit after I performed the edit. I'm well-aware of WP:TPG and the policies regarding refactoring comments, though it's always been a little hazy to me whether minor grammar fixes counted as "refactoring" or not. Thanks for the clarification. elektrikSHOOS 06:25, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- I saw Jayron's comment after I had written mine and had saved it. And then, as I was drafting an apology for "piling on", my orange bar lit up, and there you were. Assume, without specific prior permission, that everything is "refactoring". The first explosion I saw was when someone changed a deliberately selected "automagically" to "automatically", thinking he was merely correcting a typo. Indeed, they do not mean the same thing. Anyway, enough said, more than enough, in fact. Bielle (talk) 06:31, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Excuse me?
I don't know what you're talking about. I was making a post and clicked submit, saw the edit conflict thing, and clicked through. Doesn't that save both your post and the other person's?
Also, as an fyi, templating someone who's been around a few years instead of asking what the deal is is rude. Jtrainor (talk) 15:45, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- Alright. For future reference, clicking through doesn't necessarily auto-fix edit conflicts. It's best to check for yourself what the issue is. In this case, you actually just deleted another comment without adding your own. elektrikSHOOS 15:47, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- From a bystanders' point, that seemed fairly disruptive. So I reverted and tagged as such. Disregard if that wasn't the case. elektrikSHOOS 15:48, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
thanks for the welcome message; question about autoconfirmation
Thanks for the welcome message. I have a question about autoconfirmation. I know it's 10 edits required, but the info page on that subject does not specify what kind of edits. I have 15 so far, but only 1 of my own and 2 that I requested on that semi-protected Pieczenik page (thanks for that also). The other 12 are in the talk and AfD pages. I'm guessing those don't count towards autoconfirm? Just checking, and maybe that help page should be more specific? KenricAshe (talk) 13:58, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- No problem! Hope you enjoy editing. In regards to autoconfirmed status, you have to have made ten edits and been on the project for at least four days. Where the edits are doesn't matter; the system just looks at a raw count. You should be autoconfirmed in a couple of days. elektrikSHOOS 19:20, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. I've changed your tagging of DJ Outside Broadcast from a db-band to a db-person. The article is covering a person, not a band. Cheers, Buggie111 (talk) 19:42, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- The article's about a musician/producer, so both could apply. Either way, it's still A7, so it's a trivial change nonetheless. Cheers. elektrikSHOOS 19:43, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
Do you have anything better than to delete pages?
I added Camp Kawaga as it isnt a club, its a summer camp that is almost 100years old. There are several other camps in the area of ours in Wisconisn that arent as old as we are, yet they are on this site.
You have a lot of nerve to SPEEDY DELETE my page without even looking into it further.
are you the protector of wikipedia? this is whats wrong with editors like yourself that have nothing better to do than think they are championing some cause but your not.
why dont you spend time doing something better than policing a page about my summer camp
Where is my content? How can i get a copy of that back so the hours of work i spent doesnt go to waste?
I mean, does a nearly 100 year summer camp that has a long history not belong on this site? AND dont bother citing the terms of use, thats just another thing you can keep to yourself as the champion of content.
looks like you seem to piss everyone off including other editors with your quick clicks. think about the hard work someone put into their page before you just delete it. im furios about this. i was up late last night doing this for the benefit of the 200+ kids at the camp. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rerwin33 (talk • contribs) 21:24, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- First thing: please assume good faith and be civil when dealing with other editors. I am not out to get you or otherwise make your day miserable. That said, there are guidelines that all articles must follow, among the most important of which are our notability guidelines and this list of what Wikipedia is not. As it stood, the article did not meet those guidelines and was deleted. That does not necessarily mean that the topic in particular is not suitable for inclusion at all, merely that wasn't as it stood at the time of the tagging.
- Second, I am not an administrator and thus cannot delete articles. I merely placed a tag on it, and an uninvolved administrator reviewed that tag, agreed with it and deleted the article. You can check the deletion log to see who actually deleted the article. Deleted articles are usually retained in history for a period of time and can be restored upon request. I'll find that out for you myself right after I post this initial message.
- You can also create a userspace draft that can be worked on without the risk of speedy deletion. Let the deleting admin that this is what you want and they should do it for you. elektrikSHOOS 04:04, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- In this case, the deleting admin appears to be OlEnglish (talk · contribs) (see the log here), who in my experience is a very reasonable and considerate administrator. Ask him on his talk page to restore the article as a userspace draft for you. elektrikSHOOS 04:08, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
