Hi

At last one to talk. I know you'll delete this paragraph but despite doing this write in my page PLEASE. Safiye Sultan isn't Nurbanu Sultan's relative. If that Nurbanu Sultan was REALLY Cecilia Baffo is true you're right. But it's just a theory like Rachel or Kale Kartanou. If you write "They were relatives," it'll be wrong. You may write: SHE CAN BE HER RELATIVE, ok?? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yearhead (talk • contribs)
The page on Joseph Nothing in English was rejected with the explanation that it might copy material from another site. However in fact it does not, and the page linked to does not have any material that resembles the Wiki page. Also Joseph Nothing already has a page in Japanese and one in a language I do not recognize. The page I posted however is not a translation and includes additional information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lagula (talk • contribs) 08:14, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Template:Tfd
I'd like to ask you to undo the full protection of Template:Tfd. 1. There has been absolutely no vandalism for a long time. 2. See the editsummary of this edit. Debresser (talk) 18:04, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Just don't get too carried away when protecting templates. See Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive638#HJ_Mitchell mass fully protecting templates for reference. -- WOSlinker (talk) 21:35, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- I don't plan on getting carried away, thanks. Debresser: I find it a little weird allowing anyone with 10 edits to edit a template that's transcluded on over 66,000 articles and that appears to be in a stable state, having no edits for over 6 months. I'm pretty sure this is the exact scenario described at WP:HRT. --Closedmouth (talk) 12:54, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
- The problem is that editors with years of experience and tens of thousands of edits, and who a specialists in template editing, like me, also can't edit it any more, because of your preventive measures. Perhaps you should try to look at it that way. Debresser (talk) 19:44, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
- A couple questions, both @ Debresser. 1) Do you currently have any plans for the template? If so, such a highly used template (Closedmouth gives a figure of over 66,000 transclusions, above) would probably have a discussion on the talk page prior to changes anyway. 2) Would you like someone to nom you for an RFA? You seem to be apt at your template skills and imo Wikipedia's gotten better at letting techy people get adminship based on their skills in that area rather than article writing (I'm specifically thinking about Cobi, Shirik, and somewhat related is Bsadowski1 in the non-article-writing-but-still-needs-adminship aspect). I'd be willing to nominate you and I'm sure other, more active admins, would be as well. Killiondude (talk) 02:04, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- With excuses for "hacking" this talkpage. I am not active enough to justify a nomination at RFA. And there have been some conflicts over the time. So thank you very much, but no need. Debresser (talk) 05:36, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Interview Request
Hi Closedmouth,
My name is Hannah and I am an MSc student at Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford. I am currently working on my thesis titled ‘The Relationship between Quality of Collaborative Knowledge and Authorship: A Comparative Case Study of Google Knol vs. Wikipedia’. I’m aiming to compare quality of articles from Google Knol and Wikipedia and I need your help in identifying what authors do to make sure they write the best quality article.
If you agree to participate, you will be interviewed via email, Skype or any other means of your choice.
With your help, I hope to learn about the impact that the unique structural design of the two services have on article quality and thus hopefully for the Internet industry, increase awareness of the implications of design choices for the quality of user-generated content.
All data you provide will be anonymised and stored confidentially. You may withdraw at any time without prejudice and without providing a reason. In the event of withdrawal, data you already provided will immediately be removed.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me at hannah.kim@oii.ox.ac.uk. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

I noticed that you changed the protection level to sysop indef, but the whole reason that sub-template was created was so that we at WP:WWF wouldn't have to ask admins to make changes. Is it possible to change it back to autoconfirmed? Nolelover Talk·Contribs 18:26, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Hey Closedmouth, thanks for helping out. However, I think that DentonJC (talk · contribs) is one of the good guys--look at their last two edits, where they removed an incorrect image. - In response to questions raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2011 October 8 regarding whether or not indef-blocked User:Havermayer is a banned editor, or can be considered to be the meatpuppet of a banned editor, I have done some analysis.
- I found one post on ANI as well as the two posts on this page. The argument is made that Havermayer was part of a "4chan raid", which I don't know what that is, but I gather that a raid is when some vandals plan a session of unconstructive edits an a target article, and 4chan is a banned editor with a penchant to coordinate raids.
- I spent some time looking at the edit history of User:Havermayer, Ninja Theory, and My Life Me. The nominal cause for the indef block is the last two edits each marked so as to indicate vandalism, each of which reverted admin Closedmouth, who in turn, 14 minutes after the last revert, imposed an indef block with the one-word explanation "abuse".
- On the day he was blocked, Havermayer's last edit reverted a Closedmouth edit in which the edit comment is "?!".
- Havermayer's next to last edit restores an administrative template, whose removal is not explained via the edit comment.
- Havermayer's third to last edit was clearly a constructive revert of vandalism.
- Another consideration is to look at the Havermayer edits of the previous day, they began at 2011-09-27T05:46, and ended at 2011-09-27T15:20. Comparing this with when Havermayer reverted Closedmouth, it was almost exactly 24 hours later, in other words, Havermayer was at the end of his/her work day.
- Going back further in the contributions list shows a pattern of frequent reverts.
- In Havermayer's user page edit history, I found one complaint in 2006 about an "offensive edit summary", but no warnings about vandalism.
- From the information here, there is nothing to explain the issuing of an indef block, or even a block. From this newbies's viewpoint, it appears that discussion on a talk page was the appropriate response to these two reverts. FYI, Unscintillating (talk) 22:58, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

Please review these blocks
There was a bug in MediaWiki 1.18 that caused blocks made via the API to have talk page access disabled when it should have been enabled. This also affected scripts such as User:Animum/easyblock.js. Please review the following blocks to make sure that you really intended talk page access to be disabled, and reblock if necessary.

Did anyone look at the history to to see why 3 revisions occurred? We're just trying to make a good page and people keep deleting things- and we keep reverting them to try and get it within the rules.... and now the page is protected and we can;t do anything Notjackbrown (talk) 12:58, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
NPP survey
I am not sure why I was invited to complete this. I don't think I have ever done new page patrol. I have occasionally used Huggle, but it seems to watch for vandalism on existing pages. I may have rescued one or two speedy delete nominations. Just curious... Aymatth2 (talk) 14:10, 25 October 2011 (UTC)

- As far as I'm aware, Kudpung compiled it manually. Okeyes asked me to correct the message. Anyone else curious about the inner workings should ask one of them. --Closedmouth (talk) 16:08, 25 October 2011 (UTC)

how do you add chuck thomas to the afd
I have tried the various codes and can't seem to add it as an article for discussion. It says to add it to the top of the list and I have tried to do this and copied the formatting but it does not work. Your help would be appreciated. I reinstated the deletion tag on the Chuck Thomas page because I thought this may make the article appar on the afd page but it did not so appologies for that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dutyscenee (talk • contribs) 18:46, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Questionnable content...

The descriptions in the index is quite questionable; I'm not sure if it should be changed or not.
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Murphy418 (talk • contribs) 01:36, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
- If you read the whole article, you will discover the origin of the descriptions. --Closedmouth (talk) 08:12, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

Unprotect New York NRHP template
Hi ... I am revising state NRHP templates that I created to bring them in line with the Template:National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania. I revised Template:National Register of Historic Places in Maryland and Template:National Register of Historic Places in West Virginia and would like to extend the same revisions to Template:National Register of Historic Places in New York, which I created initially. Please advise.--Pubdog (talk) 15:43, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
