Dear Author/Closedmouth

My name is Nuša Farič and I am a Health Psychology MSc student at the University College London (UCL). I am currently running a quantitative study entitled Who edits health-related Wikipedia pages and why? I am interested in the editorial experience of people who edit health-related Wikipedia pages. I am interested to learn more about the authors of health-related pages on Wikipedia and what motivations they have for doing so. I am currently contacting the authors of randomly selected articles and I noticed that someone at this address edited an article on Leukodystrophy. Edits are not vandalism

I reported an IP at WP:AIV yesterday, because he keeps editing against consensus; changing years in infobox and removing loan-spell and so on. This was rejected by you, with the because "edits are not vandalism". Yes, I agree that the IP did not deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia, but what do you think should be done with IP's that do have some positive contributions, but most of the edits are disruptive. The IP in question is 109.247.133.156 (talk · contribs · WHOIS), and User:Struway2 and myself have struggled with this guy for months without any response on his talk-page. Category recreation request

Hi Closedmouth. I was wondering if you would be able to recreate Category:Słupsk County geography stubs, which you deleted on July 3 due to it being empty. The reason the category was empty was that someone had broken the associated stub template. Obviously I could recreate the category myself, but I don't know what it looked like before it was deleted. Infobox NCAA team season

Hi Closedmouth. I see you have made many of the changes to the Infobox NCAA team season. I just received an external request for an Associate head Coach (in basketball, I don't know if it is common in other sports). I see I'm not the only one, Template_talk:Infobox_NCAA_team_season#Associate_Head_Coach, is this something you could do? Unprotection request

Hi Closedmouth, Tiësto (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) was protected (with pending changes) by you in July 2010, and it was changed to semi when the pending changes trial ended. Okay, finally got some time (remembered) to look at this. Turns out I switched on flagged revisions because people were claiming he died (probably a raid) so I guess it's not really relevant anymore. Request for reduction from full-protection to semi-protection

Template:NFLSecondaryColorRaw is a page us experienced editors can help maintain and adjust with the times-unfortunately, we have to make edit requests because of its indefinite protection. That's why I suggest we have it be indefinitely semi-protected like the other three NFL templates-that way admins can edit it, but would-be vandals can stay out. An Issue you are involved in, regarding the MGM-52 Lance Article is taking place on that Article's Talk Page. Several Users have repeatedly removed the section "Operators" with the assertion that it contains copyrighted material. Several Users, including myself have just reverted the edits on that Page. I am opening a discussion on that Article's Talk Page in the hopes that a consensus can be reached and the constant reverting can be ended. WikiCup 2013 February newsletter

Round 1 is now over. The top 64 scorers have progressed to round 2, where they have been randomly split into eight pools of eight. At the end of April, the top two from each pool, as well as the 16 highest scorers from those remaining, will progress to round 3. Commiserations to those eliminated; if you're interested in still being involved in the WikiCup, able and willing reviewers will always be needed, and if you're interested in getting involved with other collaborative projects, take a look at the WikiWomen's Month discussed below.

Round 1 saw 21 competitors with over 100 points, which is fantastic; that suggests that this year's competition is going to be highly competative. Our lower scores indicate this, too: A score of 19 was required to reach round 2, which was significantly higher than the 11 points required in 2012 and 8 points required in 2011. The score needed to reach round 3 will be higher, and may depend on pool groupings. In 2011, 41 points secured a round 3 place, while in 2012, 65 was needed. Our top three scorers in round 1 were:

  1. Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions), primarily for an array of warship GAs.
  2. London Miyagawa (submissions), primarily for an array of did you knows and good articles, some of which were awarded bonus points.
  3. New South Wales Casliber (submissions), due in no small part to Canis Minor, a featured article awarded a total of 340 points. A joint submission with Alaska Keilana (submissions), this is the highest scoring single article yet submitted in this year's competition.

Featured topics have still played no part in this year's competition, but once again, a curious contribution has been offered by British Empire The C of E (submissions): did you know that there is a Shit Brook in Shropshire? With April Fools' Day during the next round, there will probably be a good chance of more unusual articles...

March sees the WikiWomen's History Month, a series of collaborative efforts to aid the women's history WikiProject to coincide with Women's History Month and International Women's Day. A number of WikiCup participants have already started to take part. The project has a to-do list of articles needing work on the topic of women's history. Those interested in helping out with the project can find articles in need of attention there, or, alternatively, add articles to the list. Those interested in collaborating on articles on women's history are also welcome to use the WikiCup talk page to find others willing to lend a helping hand. Another collaboration currently running is an an effort from WikiCup participants to coordinate a number of Easter-themed did you know articles. Contributions are welcome!

From now on, submission pages will need only a link to the article and a link to the nomination page, or, in the case of good article reviews, a link to the review only. See your submissions' page for details. This will hopefully make updating submission pages a little less tedious. Neutrois

Hi, I wanted to know why you deleted Neutrois? I checked the deletion logs for the last two deletions of it, and they made no sense. Neologism: No, it was from 1995, actually. There are some pages I could delete because the name has been coined after 1995, I'll check and see. How about "cell phone" or "Internet"? They're neologisms! Or, how about "not notable"? Well, with all the sources I gave, I assume it is notable. There are people out there who identify with this, so it does exist, therefore it is notable (Or, I could take the articles for Asexuality, Polysexuality, Pansexuality, Bisexuality, Androgyny, Third Gender, and Homosexuality down because they are less than 2% of the human population and some people claim that these things don't exist!) Also, I gave sources, unlike the last two articles for it. Now, Wikipedia should be an encyclopaedia-not something that does whatever society does (in this case, erase neutrois), because it is real and it exists. Or, I can simply delete all the pages I mentioned. Give me a good reason why this article was deleted, other than anything I stated (or cell phone and homosexuality get deleted). The only source you provided that directly addressed the concept of neutrois was neutrois.com. All the rest were about a third gender in Nepal or something. Yeah, I read all that Wikipedia stuff. It just looks like the same stuff each page. It looks like a 14 year old wrote it, the style is so unprofessional. If glorious Wikipædia wants to be lacking relevant information, that's fine and I can delete those other pages. OR, we could view some other sources:

AIV report

Hi Closedmouth,

In regards to this query - the user in question continued to add unsourced content ([1]) to the article - despite being warned. In regards to the warnings they recieved - a L3 OR warning straight off by another user, I don't personally agree with; however, when I reverted the unsourced edits futher, using Huggle, the tool automatically sent out a warning (successive to the one presently there), and in the case of a L4 warning present on the talk page, it maked an AIV report. Hello Closedmouth. It may be time to unblock User talk:Cpasrilanka since he has now proposed an acceptable user name that doesn't mention his firm or profession. I notice that his deleted article was a total copyright violation. But my guess is that he should get at least some leeway to show that he understands. Your belated welcome

Thanks so much for the belated welcome and, especially, for the cookies! They were great.

I am slowly finding my way around but find that I have to learn one byte of info at a time. I'm not even sure if I was to respond to your message at your talk page or mine. Most of my contributions, as you can see, are photo images for the NRHP, so my searches have to do with how to do this or that relating to uploading, inserting, formatting into an article, etc. I appreciate your popping in to say hello.

Oh, and as far as the four tildes go, I'm not even sure if I insert those with or without my username! (But I think I just found out by using the "preview.")

I will try to get my user page up and going soon.
