french american academy

Dear C.Fred, I understand you are patrolling and helping me to write this page about The French American Academy. thank you. I am new to Wikipedia. I hope I am doing things right. I am not trying to promote anything but to inform about bilingualism as the French American Academy is offering a bilingual program. Please do not delete what I spend long hours to prepare. Instead help me re-write or reference accordingly to Wikipedia rules. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Addis9999 (talkcontribs) 01:00, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

@Addis9999: The problem is, a general overview of a bilingual program is outside the scope of an article on FAA. The article needs to relate to the Academy specifically. —C.Fred (talk) 01:13, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

I need your assistance in written about Midas King that you just nominated for deletion, but it has references and source, what really went wrong? I need your help in fixing whatever you think was wrong. Your help will be appreciated. Thanks for your anticipated assistance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Objectivoo (talkcontribs) 04:07, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

@Objectivoo: The problem was that there was no assertion of significance or importance made about King in the article. That's why it qualified for speedy deletion. I also note that it's been deleted several times. —C.Fred (talk) 04:11, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

He's becoming a public figure as he's been verified on social media, could you help to edit the contents in order to make it stay on Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Objectivoo (talkcontribs) 04:16, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

@Objectivoo: I could, but you'd have to point me toward a couple of independent reliable sources that show that he meets the notability criteria for musicians. —C.Fred (talk) 04:20, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

He's an independent artist that was recently signed, his PR and Bloggers are currently working on his image promotion, I can give you some links to check him out maybe you can use his website biography to write and adjust to the wiki standard. Please help

@Objectivoo: Should I take that as meaning that there are not any independent sources about him? Sounds like he's not ready for an article (yet). —C.Fred (talk) 04:24, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

Here are the sources : http://www.thebaeblogs.com/midas-king-be-alright/ http://www.bwdmagazine.com/midas-king-midaskingeye-november-2015-feature-in-bwd-magazine/ http://www.midaskingmusic.com/about/ Please help — Preceding unsigned comment added by Objectivoo (talkcontribs) 04:27, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

The above links are his official website biography and a blog wrote about him and a magazine. Please check and tell me what more to provide, it doesn't need to be too long,we just want him to be present on wiki. Thanks for the help

@Objectivoo: Baeblogs is a blog with no editorial review process. The spread in BWD looks like a press release and is not independent. (It also looks an awful lot like text that appeared previously on Wikipedia.) Midaskingmusic.com is plainly not independent. —C.Fred (talk) 04:34, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
Also, who is the "we" you refer to? —C.Fred (talk) 04:34, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

'We' I used that because the article was drafted by me and my friend because we are his fans and we feel he is worthy of being on this platform. BWD Magazine is a company with editors and they interviewed him. Please put me through and make this work out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Objectivoo (talkcontribs) 04:39, 14 February 2017 (UTC) Please help to get it done and I will appreciate — Preceding unsigned comment added by Objectivoo (talkcontribs) 04:53, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

@Objectivoo: The "interview" in BWD is copied directly from the subject's bio elsewhere. It's possible that his website just copied the interview, but it's more likely that what BWD published is not an interview but a press release or paid placement. I stand by my assessment: there is no independent coverage of King, and he should not have an article. If an article were to be created in the future, it must be original text, not material copied from any other place on the internet. —C.Fred (talk) 11:52, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

Thanks Mr.Fred I really appreciate your time, I will try to contact him on this and all the blogs written about him would be given editorial reviews — Preceding unsigned comment added by Objectivoo (talkcontribs) 12:24, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

@Objectivoo: You would be better served to show that he has been written about in sources already deemed reliable, such as major newspapers, than to prove that a blog has hired a support staff and gone back to fact-check old stories. —C.Fred (talk) 01:47, 15 February 2017 (UTC)

hi, i was doing this move because (a) I realised I had linked a phrase in drones to this, then I though "hmm, easy mistake to make". I've found remote control cranes, remote control machinery, remote control locomotive. I'm only 5% of the way through the list. it's a verb, it's a noun, which further contributes to how massively ambiguous it is.

I think it is far better to have an ambiguous term as a {disambiguation}, then people will be alerted to it. There are other unambiguous phrases that can redirect easily to remote control (consumer electronics) e.g. remote handset, TV remote, DVD remote etc. With these there is no problem

I think I should have stood my ground on this in the talk page - when we have more specific redirects, it is easier to cut through any ambiguity.

Do you mind if I continue with what I was doing? Fmadd (talk) 20:57, 15 February 2017 (UTC)

Neutral Point of View

Hello, Fred. I admit that I could have kept my changes more "neutral". So sorry about that. I was actually trying to make it more neutral in the process because it seemed to lean towards Atheism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cheshirecat8021 (talkcontribs) 18:32, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

why do you keep deleting the eyeden article he has had many awards and got awarded the 1 unsinged musical artist by the bbc radio and Godiva Festival — Preceding unsigned comment added by Creative1232 (talkcontribs) 15:47, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

@Creative1232: The article never mentioned an award by BBC Radio. That might have been enough to prevent speedy deletion, if it checked out in reliable sources. How does Godiva figure in—were they a sponsor of the award?
Also, creating a string of accounts to keep attempting to create the article is not good practice. —C.Fred (talk) 15:51, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

reliable source - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04bzx75

@Creative1232: It would help if it were in print format where it could be verified; the episode is not available.
There is also a bigger issue with your account: it appears that you, as a user, have already been indefinitely blocked and are not eligible to create an article. —C.Fred (talk) 15:55, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

Jonny Craig

The current citation for his birthplace is a citation I added years ago and the source (Jonny Craig himself in the podcast) states he was born in Minot, North Dakota not Abbotsford, British Columbia. Someone has changed this information on the page but is continuing to use the source I provided.

RE: Curt Schilling

Schilling will certainly be the most dangerous man in American politics. He is hateful, vindictive, [redacted], anti-science, blowhardish, dumb and cowardly.

That being said, I understand and accept your revert, because sometimes the unadulterated truth assails the eyes and ears of the complacent masses.

Good day sir.Diamond Dweller (talk) 16:11, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Just a friendly heads up - really an expansion on my edit summary. Once an article has been prodded, and the prod has been removed, you can't prod it again. Second, as I've learned over time, even if the references are absurd, non-reliable, not independent, etc., it doesn't qualify for blp-prod. That second reason was why I simply prodded it, rather than blp-prod. Regardless, take care. Onel5969 TT me 02:46, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

@Onel5969: Then the template needs to come into compliance with the policy, since {{Prod blp/dated}} reads "All biographies of living people created after March 2010 must have at least one reference to a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article."[emphasis mine] None of the sources in the article did that; that's why the article was absolutely justified for prod blp—and there's no one-time limit on that proposed deletion mechanism.
I could have just speedied it again and salted it myself, but I wanted to get a few more eyes on the article before I did that. —C.Fred (talk) 15:11, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
Hi. I've actually never looked at the template verbiage before, as every time it's come up in AfD discussions, or removal of the BLP PROD tag, it's always referenced WP:BLPPROD, rather than the template, which states, "... a biography of a living person and contain no sources in any form (as references, external links, etc., reliable or otherwise) supporting any statements made about the person in the biography." But I agree, the two should match so as to avoid any confusion. However, I'm not an admin, so don't know how to go about effecting that change. Onel5969 TT me 18:26, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

OCDL

I would've appreciated further explanation when you decided to ignore my comment about how OCDL isn't a one-county program and immediately delete the page. It took time and effort and I get that you have a lot to moderate, but if you treat people as numbers and remove stuff without explaining, you're an obstacle to creating a wide-ranging encyclopedia. What's your new reason for deleting it, now that the one-county argument doesn't stand? Bmo000 (talk) 03:44, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

@Bmo000: Well, WP:GNG is a starting point: the article was lacking in significant independent coverage. And using the Los Angeles Times as a source will be tricky: is the coverage in the local section or a broader section? Again, the deletion came down to lack of an assertion of wide-ranging significance. —C.Fred (talk) 15:43, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
Also, the damning comment was "It is the largest MSPDP league in the country with over 20 registered schools." Twenty registered schools is not that significant. Middle-school sports conferences are not notable, so there's no reason for a debate league to be, regardless of whether it spans one county or three. If any organization should have an article, it would be MSPDP, not the regional affiliate. This is consistent with other organizations: have an article on the national organization but not local chapters. —C.Fred (talk) 15:46, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Reverting edits

I think it's quite inappropriate that you revert edits without doing research. Just look at the official video of Love Exists which was uploaded to YouTube for proof. Also that actually was not "trivial."—‎Lost Whispers talk 10:04, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

@Lost Whispers: Sorry, but an official video does not act as a source for an action by an unrelated party. You would be required to cite press coverage of the mix-up. Further, you'd need to show that this was something that had some lasting effect beyond a two-day inconvenience for users looking for the song. —C.Fred (talk) 14:31, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi,

So what did you do, mate? I put the handball team there because it is a lot more know, and I have created an article for football alone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124123reyna (talkcontribs) 03:36, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

@124123reyna: I fixed your mess. You hijacked the existing article about the football team. I've spun off your article to VfL Oldenburg (handball). The inbound links to the unqualified VfL Oldenburg are likely relating to the football team. If that article needs moved, then you need to go through the WP:RM process and make sure the inbound links are fixed. —C.Fred (talk) 03:38, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

I was not being "unhelpful". As has been clearly explained to you, you need to provide a source that says that Scarecrow is indeed playable in the console version, which at the moment does not exist. "BECAUSE I SAY SO, YOU DUMB RETARD!!" is not a source. I have done nothing wrong in this scenario. 88.105.183.129 (talk) 21:48, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

User: Cowboy_Caboose

Hi Fred, I just sent a very similar message to Frosty, another admin regarding the deletion of this page, an as you know, this is Cowboy_Caboose. I understand your job is hard, and it must be very annoying to have to deal with many useless and fake pages created by accounts. I came to talk to you, not only to apologize that my page came off on the wrong foot, but to defend it as well. To begin, Dibs is a cultural phenomenon which has developed and grown throughout society, and is still very prevalent today. I believe that since Dibs has no page on this website, it needed one to describe its aspect in society. When I began to look into it, I saw a set of rules that stood together as the Dibs protocol. The Dibs Protocol stands as a separate entity from the topic of Dibs itself, and I therefore believed it deserved its own page. I spent a long time compiling information from various sources to make a complete version to this date of the protocol. As an avid fan of Red vs. Blue, this dibs protocol was actually created during the fifth season, and I wanted to also make an extension from that into its own page for those who look to find a more complete and detailed synopsis of the protocol. If we could please discuss this topic some more I would love to answer any questions and or concerns that you have about this issue. Thank you and have a wonderful day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cowboy Caboose (talkcontribs) 04:18, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

@Cowboy Caboose: Sorry, but Wikipedia is not for your version of something that's been kicking around the internet for at least six years. —C.Fred (talk) 04:27, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

What is Wikipedia for then, in simple terms?

@Cowboy Caboose: It is an encyclopedia. It is for topics that are notable and for which information can be verified from reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 04:30, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

Would a page on the history and social integration of Dibs be acceptable?

@Cowboy Caboose: What sources have covered it? —C.Fred (talk) 04:33, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

At the moment I am not quite sure to be honest, but as I gather information, so long as the sources are reliable, would it be an acceptable topic to have in this encyclopedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cowboy Caboose (talkcontribs) 04:36, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

@Cowboy Caboose: If you can find where it's been written about—as in, the cultural impact, not just minutia from the fiction works where it's used—then there's a good chance it will be acceptable. —C.Fred (talk) 04:40, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

Thank you Fred, I really appreciate the feed back!Cowboy Caboose (talk) 04:43, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

User:FormalDude

C.Fred,

Thanks for reviewing my page. To be clear, this account is a personal account. The GFL is a non-profit organization that does not have paid employees, so I am receiving no compensation for my work here. I mentioned I run marketing for the league to appear as a more credible source for writing the page and give anyone wishing to edit the page in the future access to more information by contacting me. As a marketing director, I'm aware that Wikipedia can be a great tool for companies to gain awareness for themselves and have easily accessible information for people to read. I do know, however, that Wikipedia is not an advertising platform and cannot be used in ways like social media to promote self gain. I created the article with this in mind.

I'd like to know the best way to go about adding the Logo of Utah Girls Football League to the page. Let me know what I can do.

If there's anything you believe I should change, edit, add or remove, please feel free to do so, or let me know! Thanks for all your help!

Formal Dude (talk) 14:20, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

@Formal Dude: Your title of "marketing director" may have raised alarm bells with some editors. We have had a number of organizations—for-profit and non-profit—that have paid people to create articles for them. Many of those have been so overtly promotional that we had to delete the articles immediately. That did not seem to be the case, in my opinion, with the GFL. The only maintenance tag currently on the article is that the lists in the article should be turned into prose (paragraphs). So, the article itself seems to be in good shape.
Even though you are not editing the article for pay, you still have a conflict of interest because of your involvement with the organization. That does not bar you from editing the article; it does mean that you need to make sure to provide independent (secondary) sources for significant claims. I note you have done that already: the claim that GFL is the first girls' league is backed up by a story on Yahoo Sports. So, I think you're editing the article the right way. The only other thing you should do is put the {{Connected contributor}} template on Talk:Utah Girls Football League so that your connection to the league is transparent. Let me know if you'd like me to add that for you.
Finally, regarding the logo: the big question is, what is the copyright status of the logo? I would assume that GFL retains the rights to the logo. In that case, it should be uploaded to Wikipedia as a non-free image. If you can provide a link where I can find the image, I'll be glad to upload that for you. (New users are not allowed to upload images for roughly their first week on Wikipedia.) —C.Fred (talk) 16:17, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
Also, completely unrelated to improving the article: what's the gender ratio for officials in the league? Have you recruited women to officiate, or do you have the same ratio as the other leagues in the area (which I'm guessing is heavily male)? —C.Fred (talk) 16:19, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

@C.Fred: I put the connected contributor on the talk page, let me know if I've done it wrong, or you can change it as well (obviously). As for the prose maintenance tag, how should I go about that? I feel both sections are good in lists (I do agree, though, that two lists is not necessarily aesthetically pleasing). Do you think the tag is talking to both Media Coverage and Districts, or just one?

GFL does retain rights to the logo. If you could upload it, that'd be great. Let me know if you need any other information on it. Here's a link to the logo https://s21.postimg.org/azcz4qzxz/GFL_logo.png

By the way, we use local officials, the same ones that officiate youth boys leagues in the area. Almost all are male. Thanks for asking!

Formal Dude (talk) 18:16, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

@Formal Dude: Good job on the connected contributor tag. I added to it that I've reviewed your edits for neutrality. As for prose maintenance, I'd ask that question at the article's talk page; the editor who tagged the article can probably give better insight on their concerns.
I have uploaded the logo to Wikipedia. The file is named File:Utah Girls Football League.png and has been added to the infobox.
I figured you used local officials. I've worked with a handful of female officials in high school football games in Georgia; one of them, at least check, is officiating in NCAA Division I FCS. —C.Fred (talk) 18:27, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Mansur Kamaletdinov WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!

Who are you and why do you keep changing Mansur's ethnicity to Bashkir when he was Volga Tatar? Mansur was born in Zlatoust to a Tatar family. When his mother was murdered and he became orphaned his internal passport was stamped "Bashkir" because that's where the orphanage was located, in Ufa which is in Bashkortostan. Nureyev grew up in Ufa as well but I don't see anyone trying to call him a Bashkir. I have nothing against Bashkir people since they are Tatars' cousins but why do you insist on changing my father's wiki entry and what do you care about the Turkic people of Russia? I care because not just because of accuracy but because you are talking about my immediate family. If your dad was Irish and someone kept changing his wiki to say that he was Scots or vice versa you might eventually get as upset as I am becoming right now.

Source for accuracy? Me. I am Mansur Mansurovich (Mansur Jr) Kamaletdinov. Feel free to contact me at jk@johnkolchak.com

If you don't change his ethnicity back to Tatar, I will raise a wikipedia storm. My father was very proud of his Tatar heritage and you are denying it in this encyclopedia. Stop it. Now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RurikVeselin (talkcontribs) 21:17, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

@RurikVeselin: Since your only edits are to Psychological novel, I'm not quite sure which edits have gotten you all riled up. Could you link to the article in question? —C.Fred (talk) 21:20, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
I see what happened now. Please provide your published reliable source that's he's Tatar at Talk:Mansur Kamaletdinov#Ethnicity - Bakshir or Tatar?. —C.Fred (talk) 21:24, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

What is YOUR source to prove that YOUR father or mother is/was not Chinese, or Eskimo, or a giraffe or a Martian? I am Mansur's son and I know what his and mine ethnicity is, thank you. Your question is a logical fallacy and I can't wrap my mind around why you keep insisting on screwing with my dad's wiki. Can't you just leave us alone? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RurikVeselin (talkcontribs) 02:24, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

@RurikVeselin: First, we have no way to know that you are Mansur's son. Even if you did credential yourself to the Volunteer Response Team, Wikipedia's verifiability policy would require a published source about his ethnicity. Finally, if you are Mansur's son, you have a conflict of interest with the article and should refrain from editing it. I know, it seems backwards, but Wikipedia prefers independent, impartial editors to write the articles. —C.Fred (talk) 02:29, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

Why am I supposed to prove to YOU who I don't know from Adam why YOU are the authority on my and my father's ethnicity? Please provide a verifiable source stating that my dad is Bashkir vs Tatar, and also explain why this is of such great importance to you other than a wikipedia jerkoff session? It IS of importance to me because you claim to be the authority on my father. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RurikVeselin (talkcontribs) 05:38, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

  • (talk page watcher) Hi RurikVeselin. Just for reference, it's not your dad's wiki. Articles are not owned by the subjects they are written about. Please read Wikipedia:Ownership of content for reference. If you have concerns that some information in the article that may be correct, then there are ways to address them in accordance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Please refer to Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide#Steps for engagement. Also, please be advised that using multiple accounts to edit is only considered acceptable under certain specific conditions. So, if by chance, you are also User:Mansur Kamaletdinov, then you need you need to stick to using a single account when editing. Finally, we try not "wikipedia storms" over content disputes since they never help resolve things and almost always end it in getting the storm raiser blocked for one reason or another. Your best chance and achieving your goal is to follow Wikipedia:Dispute resolution and provide some kind of published reliable source which can be used to verify your father's nationality. That might not be what you want to here, but it's how Wikipedia works. The source does not need to be in English per WP:NONENGLISH, but it needs to be published and it needs to be reliable. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:38, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

Well, if no good deed goes unpunished, then your taking the time to move this article is proof of it, because here I am asking for some assistance. The subject's family is struggling with the idea of encyclopedia article vs. memorial page--I've trimmed it a bit, but it's just a shorter mess--and I hate playing the lone Scrooge. Any assistance you can provide by way of engaging the daughter-in-law in discussion will be appreciated. Cheers, 2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 02:54, 15 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi Fred and other editors ..can you consider adding this? I am really trying to be objective here...He was a prominent figure in Chicago corporate real estate. Here is what was deleted..Please consider adding or editing so it works..I appreacite the added references as well! "He was active in the community and a philanthropist who did not ask for recognition for his contributions. Kahnweiler served as President of District 108 School Board in Highland Park, was on the board of directors of Highland Park Hospital, Exchange National Bank of Chicago and Roosevelt University. He funded the college educations of several aspiring young people both in the US and abroad, including China.

Kahnweiler was the cousin of the famous art dealers Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler and Gustave Kahnweiler, ardent champions of Picasso, George Braque and Cubism. He personally met with Gustave Kahnweiler on a visit to London in the 1980's. The painting, Portrait of "Kahnweiler" (Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler) hangs in the Chicago Art Institute. 21:09, 15 March 2017 (UTC)~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jennifer Kahnweiler (talkcontribs)

I created the page for Henry Wally Laster and you deleted it by mistake. This person deserves a Wikipedia page. He has been recognized by so many people. He needs to be remembered in all ways. Just because you have NOT heard of him doesn't mean that he is not to be remembered. He is a part of 1990's Nickelodeon Nostalgia. Please undelete his page. He has been recognized so much that he cant even go down the street without being recognized. LeakySponge (talk) 19:15, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

A new page called military appointments of Donald Trump we can make it like the Political appointments of Donald Trump page https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Political_appointments_of_Donald_Trump

these's are the military appointments of Donald Trump https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/United_States_Department_of_Defense https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/NOAA_Commissioned_Officer_Corps https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/United_States_Public_Health_Service_Commissioned_Corps https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Uniformed_services_of_the_United_States https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/United_States_Department_of_Homeland_Security https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/United_States_Department_of_Veterans_Affairs — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobby232332 (talkcontribs) 14:37, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

New Content on Biometrics in Schools

Hi Fred! I'm new to all of this. The page Biometrics in Schools has been outdated and inaccurate for years now. It really bothered me since this is my area of expertise - for decades. I decided to roll my sleeves up and do something about it. I purposely only added content to the site since the history is interesting and cited everything. What was inappropriate? I certainly want to work within the rules. Thank you Fred!Biometricsexpert (talk) 02:00, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

@Biometricsexpert: Your edits appear to be adding content related only to one provider, with a tone that approaches blatant advertising. I think this edit is a prime example of the problems. Your text reads more like an advertisement for the product than a neutral encyclopedia article. —C.Fred (talk) 02:03, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

Thank you, Fred, for your insight. There were other vendors mentioned in the article so I thought that it would be OK since biometrics with young children is an issue. Are my other content additions OK? It really was an outdated article as you can see. Thank you, Fred, for your help and expertise.Biometricsexpert (talk) 02:18, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

Copyright? (Prody Parrot page)

Sorry for all the trouble, but I am new here. By the way, about the "bad image links", I don't know how to upload the images to the Wikipedia exactly. I am searching a way, I am just searching. About the copyright, I don't know how to prevent from being blamed, because Mindmaker is no longer a company, but if it still can be copyright-protected, I don't know how do I prevent the copyright thing. Anyways, I have a Prody Parrot program and I would like to complete the page, once for all.

If any user feels to contribute to the wikipedia platform with logical writing and authentic sources should he be welcomed or discouraged? i am new to this website but hope to help and contribute to wikipedia sources in various ways but i find the above remarks insulting and discouraging. It takes one's valuable time to write and add valuable information to an existing article however to have it removed without any reason (As above ?) with the addition to the added remarks as can be seen above show a clear disregard and lack of insight to the removal of changes thus can you help me decide if new users are welcomed for making contributions to this platform? . @Bulleh Shah: Sorry, but it's the easiest way to describe it. It was impossible to sort out whether there were any improvements in the article among all violations of the Manual of Style. —C.Fred (talk) 01:52, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Fred are you implying the actions taken by you personally were inadequate that it required for another users intervention.

Bulleh Shah (talk) 01:59, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

@Bulleh Shah: No. I'm saying that the damage caused by your edits outweighed any benefits, so the best course of action was to just revert the edits. —C.Fred (talk) 02:34, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

For example let me narrate a story for your understanding In a classroom of students the teacher asked someone to volunteer to bring the students attendance logbook from another room of the school and suddenly two students got up and said we both will go and get it for you ma'am. Do you see anything wrong with that?

Okay, the teacher replied how will you both get the logbook for me is that heavy in its weight that one of you is not adequate to do the job. With embarrassment the students realising their mistake and sat back on their chairs and the teacher ordered another student to do the job.

Please understand the moral of the story.

Its very intriguing to read their was significant damage without any feedback provided to what was being damaged by further reverts and btw not to forget the moral of the story.

@Bulleh Shah: That's why I expanded on your talk page, that you violated MOS, particularly WP:PBUH. —C.Fred (talk) 02:59, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

thats it in relation to one edit that you had reverted. The talk or discussion in concern is in relation to the followed up reverts by another user? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bulleh Shah (talkcontribs) 03:06, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

@Bulleh Shah: If you're being reverted by more than one editor, that's usually a sign that there's a problem with your edits. —C.Fred (talk) 03:21, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Usually implies a sign of weakness to the discussion and not a proof to be presented as evidence or being able to give the impression that its adding something insightful to the discussion. Usually when its required for more than one user to take action for the same article within the same time period/frame implies the users are following the instincts of one another's remarks and are impotent (thats usually defining a scenario that can take place) i.e in a mob people tend to follow the instincts and the actions of one another thats usually the case as have been seen usually in field of studies conducted on humans.

Hope you understand. Please refer to my USER TALK PAGE its very intriguing discussion on a different but intriguing subject would also welcome your response on that too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bulleh Shah (talkcontribs) 03:27, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

C.Fred, would you mind please semi-protecting Katy Hudson (album)? The disruption levels are getting worrisome. Snuggums (talk / edits) 04:43, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

Still think you're example is not violence against women. You say violence against women is the type of violence that occurs to maintain the male dominance, regardless of the sex of the victim. Posting Technical Information

Hi... I'm retired from the U.S. Forest Service and using my National Scenic Trail experience as the national Continental Divide Trail Program Manager, I have developed a National Scenic Trail Planning Handbook. The material that is currently found for the Continental Divide Trail page promotes use and organizations that are related to this National Trail, but doesn't provide information about how National Scenic Trails are to be planned and managed as related to the requirements of the National Trails System Act. Is there an appropriate place to post on Wikipedia a technical paper? Instead of a web-link, could it be posted as a reference? Is there a Wikipedia posting review board where I should send this type of question? I appreciate the help! Thank you, Greg Warren

P.S. For reference, here's is the link that you or someone deleted from the CDT page: http://nstrail.org/management/nst_planning_handbook.pdfNSTrail (talk) 01:54, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

@NSTrail: No, there is not. Wikipedia is not a repository for original research, and any handbook you developed would be original research. Because of your experience, it's possible that the handbook—since it's been published elsewhere—could be useful as a reference. You might want to ask at the Reliable source noticeboard about that. —C.Fred (talk) 01:58, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

OK, I believe that I understand, especially since the ideas that I present in the National Scenic Trail Planning Handbook can't be edited by others. As time permits, I'll try to provide a few edits to the Continental Divide Trail page that add value and are reliable and verifiable. Hamish Blakely Deleted Article

Dear C.Fred,

On the welcome message I received, would it be possible to remove the sections expressing the deletion of my proposed article? That is, all the templates and text pertaining to my speedy deletion. Apologies if I am not following the appropriate protocol but I cannot think of an alternative way I should send this message.

I would still like to contribute in the future and would be very grateful if this speedy deletion content could be removed.

Many thanks, Kind regards, Goldentundra 08/05/2017 (Goldentundra49 (talk) 09:07, 8 May 2017 (UTC))

Apologies to C.Fred for sticking my nose in, but I've gone ahead and deleted the text in question. Exemplo347 (talk) 09:30, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

Section of welcome message

Dear C.Fred,

Exemplo347 kindly removed some deletion alerts for which I am very grateful.

Having fully acknowledged the substantial lapse in judgement in my submitting of autobiographical material, I would like to continue with a clean slate if at all possible and acceptable to you.

Further to this, may I ask for the removal of your following text on my user/talk page?: "I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:"

Obviously and justifiably, this does cause some embarrassment and I would like to continue considering future articles better educated and blemish free.

Thank you for your assistance. Goldentundra49 (talk) 10:30, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

User:Bonadeia block log

Hi there. This is just an idea, but I wonder if you should oversight your first block summary on Bonadeia (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), to remove the reference to Bonadea (talk · contribs)? The LTA harassing troll keeps spewing links to that block log, crafted to only show your block and not the revised block[1], which obviously invites erroneous blocks of our constructive user. I doubt it will actually stop the harassment campaign, but it might de-fang it just a little. Your mistake was clearly innocent, but the spamming of the link is clearly defamatory which should make the oversight reasonable. Feel free to revdel this message if you have any WP:BEANS concerns, or similar. Murph9000 (talk) 19:41, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi,

I'd like to submit a page to be posted to a topic that doesn;t have a page yet. It says someone has tried to submit a page for that name in the past, but you deleted it. Since I'm not sure of what the content of the previous page was I'm reaching out to you to clear things out. The page I want to create is called SlickPie. I already have the content ready. How can I proceed from here? Thank you.

Honestly, a lot. The company's app has won awards, got public recognitions, got media coverage by major industry outlets, etc. I strongly believe that you'd have no problems in finding the company to be relevant now. May I go ahead and submit the page? You will clearly see everything that I mentioned here (with the respective sources, of course). Hi C.Fred. Thanks for taking a look at this new article. Diane Kruger's allegedly ADHD

I could translate this clip, aired on public basque broadcast EITB with the authorization of Kruger herself.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtQVvVbaQ_c

I could do this this weekend, if necessary. I could also try to translate the french interview, if it is preferable. But I think that from the one that I just cited, the IP was showing a bit of bad faith by "not understanding" what it said. It's pretty straightforward from the first seconds. I don't believe we should censor information because everybody's too lazy to translate something that is obvious. WP policies are for verification purpose, not to abuse of people's time and/or censor information published in other languages, which is why I told him/her to "be patient" instead of whining. Brritna456 (talk) 18:13, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

FYI: The source has to be verifiable (WP:V) or it has to stay out (WP:BLPREMOVE). WP:BLP says clearly, that the burden of evidence rests with the editor who adds or restores material. Therefore, dont' hide yourself behind sources from foreign-languages (WP:NOENG) and only dare to come back again with at least two (WP:BLPSOURCE) reliable sources - preferably written in english - if they support the quite unlikely claim. Keep in mind that we have to censor any copyvio. --46.125.249.91 (talk) 08:35, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
I don't hide myself behind foreign language sources; Kruger's career is simply mostly in non-english films, which is why some of her interviews are not written in English. Remember to assume good faith. Brritna456 (talk) 09:04, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
Don't forget to remember to assume good faith too. By the way, it was you who spoke from "bad faith" further up. --46.125.249.91 (talk) 09:53, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
  • *sigh* This is why I took the matter to BLPN, to eliminate this bickering. @Brritna456: Just because it stood for five years doesn't mean it isn't a valid BLP concern—and it is in line with policy to remove the material while it's under dispute. @46.125.249.91:: We won't exclude material only because the source is non-English, although sometimes some extra work is needed to translate a passage. It is a BLP issue, but don't expect a change overnight on material that's sat untested for five years. Also, copyright doesn't invalidate a concern, although it may mean that the citation only lists the original program name, the original quote, and the translation of the quote instead of providing a link to a video. Sources don't have to be online. —C.Fred (talk) 14:16, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
I think you misread what I said. I've never argued that it wasn't a BLP issue because it stood for five years. Please read more carefully. I said that the french interview was from a 5 years-old discussion. This other source was in Spanish. If I can't provide a youtube link, then I'll just cite the source without the link, per what you said above, and translate it. Brritna456 (talk) 19:19, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
@Brritna456: My point was this had come up at Talk:Diane Kruger before about five years ago. —C.Fred (talk) 19:20, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
Ok. I will try to translate the sources as soon as possible, without providing a copyvio. I'll look for the rules about non-Internet source. Brritna456 (talk) 19:24, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

Mike Plummer

GGLD is obviously biased and is actively sabotaging his own argument. I'll attempt to make one here.

Wikipedia keeps pages for individuals in national and sub-national legislatures. England does not have "sub-national legislatures"; many proposals such as Devolved English parliament discuss attempts to create one.

One reason it is useful to create pages for members of sub-national legislatures is that it allows politicians to become notable before running for national legislatures. Outside of that general rule, I don't see a strong argument for many pages like John Cunningham (Australian politician) to exist.

I feel like there needs to be a well-defined policy on handling sub-national politicians in England that allows for this use case, but due to the current election cycle, it's impossible to do at this time.

However, as it stands, without a single reference covering his election to a local council, or any contemporaneous news coverage of his actions while a member of the council (apart from Parliamentary campaigns), the page must be deleted. Very specifically, I see no proof that the phrase "Newtown ward councillor" on the LibDem bio refers to an elected government position, and not a position in the Liberal Democrat political party. I noticed you left a message on my talk page, so I was wondering if you would help resolve a situation. On here there was a talk https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:American_English#Inland_North about the inland north section being fine as is. That there was no need to tag it. Two others agree with this. And after waiting for 8 days, I decided to remove the tag. LakeKayak is now accusing me of causing and edit war over this, when it was 3 against 1 towards the view that the Inland north section was fine. Can you please help out? I feel like I should be able to remove the tag, considering it was debated with 4 users and a period of time passed (8 days) before deciding to edit. Zero077 (talk) 02:19, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

And as for notability, there are no independent reliable sources cited in the article. Show where there have been some magazine or newspaper writeups. —C.Fred (talk) 03:50, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

Isn't that how wiki works it's not my fault these things haven't been posted but isn't it right to inform and put the correct information? Treyalexander (talk) 04:03, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

I want people to be able to see this information and you can't expect guitar player magazine to post every article they have on here Treyalexander (talk) 04:04, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

@Treyalexander: No. Wikipedia is based on verifiability: information used in articles must be able to be verified in reliable sources. That's one of the reasons that subjects are strongly discouraged from starting their own articles: they write on first-hand perspective and not based on what secondary sources have documented. —C.Fred (talk) 11:59, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

Cumprimentos Pedro S. Cabral (talk) 02:55, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

@Pedro S. Cabral:There are two issues with that. First, if you have a concern about the reliability of Stats F1, then you need to discuss that situation at the article's talk page or at WP:RSN to see if there is consensus for your change. Second, it's a bad idea to overwrite an article with a new subject—if nothing else, there will be a lot of cleanup needed related to inbound links. If the pilot is notable, better to start a separate article, perhaps at Casimiro de Oliveira (pilot); we can look later at switching titles, which will involve the link repair mentioned before.
Additionally, since this is the English Wikipedia, the discussions will go more smoothly if you use English in discussions. —C.Fred (talk) 03:05, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Of course, writing in English would be more easier for the editors on this website. Feel free to use Google Translate :) . MikeLynch (talk) 09:01, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Eu nào estou possivelmemte correcto. Eu estou correcto!

Help me

(Jamiat Ulama e Hind (talk) 13:14, 28 May 2017 (UTC))

C.Fred

You have deleted my additions on a page Jamiat Ulama e Hind.

Can you please email me by draft of editing so I can update it

regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamiat Ulama e Hind (talkcontribs) 13:14, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

@M Mufti: As has been noted elsewhere, your edits were not deleted, just reverted. The last version of the page with your edits is at https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Jamiat_Ulema-e-Hind&oldid=782567299
That said, there were severe problems with your edits: inline commentary about unsourced material, major formatting errors, and addition of a long list of names with no commentary. I strongly suggest that you do not attempt to just revert back to the prior version. If you want to improve the article, please do—so long as your edits are actually improving the article.
Finally, even though you changed user names, that doesn't mitigate your conflict of interest. —C.Fred (talk) 17:58, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi C.Fred

The inline commentary I have given in the page was the true history. This page have many wrong information. I have all information with sourced material in URDU LANGUAGE.

LONG LIST OF NAMES ARE FOUNDERS AND THEN PERSONS WHO ESTABLISHED THE ORGANIZATION. AGAIN WITH SOURCED MATERIAL.

WHEN YOU SAY ACTUALLY IMPROVING THE ARTICLE WHAT DOES IT MEAN? I WANT TO PROVIDE TRUE INFORMATION IN DETAILS. PLEASE GUIDE.

REGARDS

M MUFTI

M Mufti (talk) 18:28, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

@M Mufti: What's the reliable, published source for the information? Where could another editors (who reads Urdu) find the information to verify it?
A list of founders is not always encyclopedic.
Just looking at the article, you left it in far worse shape than it was before your edits. You overused bold so it was hard to read the intro; you added inline commentary; you added a "further reading" item with no clear indication of what it is or where to find it. Frankly, it would take more work to fix your changes than to just roll back, so that's why I did. —C.Fred (talk) 18:31, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

M Mufti (talk) 18:52, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

I am new here so thats why was not sure to bold or not.

  • Verification: If you see my previous edit it shows the links of URDU books and links of their different websites. This organization is divided into two therefore I gave web links of both groups. Now it have two Presidents.
  • A picture is showing with an acting president is not history. some one is using his name as an acting president. I don't know why.
  • Over bold was just my mistake and if you don't want all founders then it will limit to few people. In that case current article needs to finish the founder section as mostly founders mentioned there are not actually founders.
  • Please advise should I re type with fewer information and indicate each update with supported links in the section of websites?

Regards

hi coud yu pls make my party page communist party of the nordic pepole look like a party page?

@Norweygien socialist: The page is up for speedy deletion. You'd need to show where the party has gotten coverage in reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 19:40, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

well this party is not a legtimant party yet cause i am still fighting to form my party mainly cause im the party leader trond jarman mikkelsen this is the main reason i dont want the party page to be deleted — Preceding unsigned comment added by Norweygien socialist (talkcontribs) 19:42, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

@Norweygien socialist: And those are both good reasons why the party should not have an article on Wikipedia. —C.Fred (talk) 19:51, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

hello c fred i know that yu deleted my page to not confuses other pepole or lack of informatioen but i havent formed the party yet and i cant neither deny a admin his rights but i understand yur descion and will rewrite the page wonces the party is formed in norway and i got a website documenting my party =) i hope this was a better exsplantion

@Norweygien socialist: Frankly, you should not write an article on your party, period. Leave it for independent editors to write about after the party becomes significant. —C.Fred (talk) 19:51, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Conflict of Interest

Hello, you have marked one of my contributions as a conflict of interest? I have no close connection with the subject, just an interest of mine. Bcbudworth (talk) 20:58, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

@Bcbudworth: The intro of the article in question refers to it being owned by the Budworth family. Given your username, are you surprised that you appear to have a conflict of interest? —C.Fred (talk) 21:01, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

This was from a book by P J Budworth, which I removed because I thought that might be the issue, it was rebuilt by the budworth family and in their hand for generations, hence the mention. My username is what it is because it's the topic I signed up to write about. We found old documents in a house previously owned by the budworth family which sparked my interest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bcbudworth (talkcontribs) 21:04, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Talk:Equity Bank Tanzania Limited

Hi C.Fred. Was wondering if the CSD notification mistakenly added to Talk:Equity Bank Tanzania Limited could just be removed or should it be moved to the user talk of the article's creator. You've declined the speedy a couple of times already, so not sure if there's a point to notifying the article's creator at this point. Also, the creator does not seem to have been notified of the prod. Notification is optional, but can create some ill will when not done. I doubt the SPA who prodded the article is worried about that. Maybe the tag can be added by me instead?

Finally, I think User:112.211.104.137 might be the same person who prodded/CSDed the article since the same thing was sort of attempted at Equity Bank Uganda Limited. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:00, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi again C.Fred. You declined one of these prods, but the same editor has also prodded Equity Bank Tanzania Limited for similar reasons. The concerns raised (if valid) seem quite serious and probably require something more than a prod or perhaps even an AfD. Would you mind taking a look at this article's tag too? Thanks in advance. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:55, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
@Marchjuly: Because that one invoked DMCA, I decided to err on the side of WP:DOLT-ish caution. I've left that prod and emailed WMF legal. —C.Fred (talk) 01:12, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:15, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Does this ring any bells?

Hello C.Fred. If you scroll down through this edit there is a warning posted by you to someone. I know it is more than 10 years ago so it may not ring any bells at all. Since the current persons posts are dubious at best I thought I would make you aware of the situation on the off chance. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 22:09, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

Update: Ponyo has wisely blocked the editor so it probably doesn't matter who the original warning was for. Thanks for your time anyway. MarnetteD|Talk 22:14, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
@MarnetteD: Yeah, I wasn't planning on digging through 10 years of block logs. I'd figure "obvious sock/troll is obvious" and just do what Ponyo did. :) —C.Fred (talk) 01:14, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

SEMI Page

Hi, I'm trying to update the page for SEMI to update it with current information, but I'm having trouble with my changes being accepted by the community. Is there a resource that I can use to have my updates edited/proofed/pre-approved? I'm getting worried I'll be labeled as a gross offender. Tviano (talk) 22:14, 2 June 2017 (UTC)tviano

@Tviano: I looked at the edit summary where your changes were undone, and it looks like the major issue was copyright violation. You cannot copy text from another website to use on Wikipedia; anything written about a subject needs to be in your own words. Also, remember that we're writing an encyclopedia, so text should be objective and have a neutral point of view. Articles should not read like blatant advertisements of their subjects.
Looking at the text of your edit, the promotional tone is a major problem. Whether or not it was actually copied from SEMI's website, it feels like it was. The promotional tone is unacceptable.
If you're concerned and want pre-approval, trying requesting a change on Talk:SEMI. Be specific in your change and cite a source, e.g.: "Please add Bangalore to the list of SEMI's locations per this page on SEMI's website." Although don't make that specific request: I'm about to fix that myself. :) —C.Fred (talk) 23:30, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi, C. Fred. Just a note to say I wouldn't normally block an account that you had warned, but Faithfullysweet has done nothing on Wikipedia except spam links to their escort service. I hope you don't object to a block. Bishonen | talk 19:52, 3 June 2017 (UTC).

Crown 2017

Thanx for protecting the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps article... However, your TBA for the theme is out of place, since the the corps has officially announced that the theme is It Is... Yes, they did include the word "Eclectic" on the graphics of their announcement, but the accompanying text stated only It Is... Questions on the corps' Facebook page elicited the response that the title is simply, It Is... There has been much speculation as to whether or not there will be a "Part 2" to the announcement or if "Eclectic" or other terms might be added at some future date, but the announced theme at this time is simply, It Is... GWFrog (talk) 03:34, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

@GWFrog: Reading some of the later comments, while I'm leaning toward "It Is" being the theme, I'm not convinced that we're sure, per Wikipedia's rules, that it's the theme. Also, the more something is challenged or changed, the stronger the sources required to make the statement. —C.Fred (talk) 20:20, 5 June 2017 (UTC)
The corps has now been heard from... According to the Carolina Crown staff, as if now, the name/theme of the program is "It Is", but more will be added next week... GWFrog (talk) 03:34, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
@GWFrog: Have you got a link to where that was published? To clarify, where they have specifically said the theme is "It Is" and not left room for speculation? —C.Fred (talk) 03:43, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
Cmoment from the Carolina Crown staff on their Facebook page, "This was only part of the announcement. More to come÷ next week. Until then, happy theorizing."...GWFrog (talk) 17:35, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
@GWFrog: There was no unambiguous announcement there, and the "happy theorizing" didn't help the situation any. That's the same announcement and comment I saw that had me hedge on the name. —C.Fred (talk) 19:17, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
Part 2 is now out... The same "it is" is now accompanied by "DYNAMIC" The theme is, as stated, simply "it is"... Anything else is just a descriptive adjective... GWFrog (talk) 04:07, 8 June 2017 (UTC)

Speedily Deletion

Hi I just wanted to say that I am not being paid to make "changes" to the Roven Records page that was recently deleted. I am an unpaid intern, and I was creating this wikipedia page for the record label I am interning at. KhalilRodgers (talk)

@KhalilRodgers: As an unpaid intern you still have a conflict of interest, even if you don't fall under the paid-editor guidelines. —C.Fred (talk) 18:08, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

You reverted my edit

Why did you revert my edits on Kylo Ren? I corrected some facts based off of what my friend, who really knows star wars, told me

@DWindsor49: Edits need to be based on reliable sources, not what your friend says, especially if your friend says a character is a turnip. —C.Fred (talk) 21:58, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion

I contested the speedy deletion tag that was put on a page I created about a band called Truth and Rites, and then edited the entry to further explain the band's significance. Why was it then deleted? FiremanIntern (talk) 20:05, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

@FiremanIntern: Because nothing on the page indicated that the band was significant. —C.Fred (talk) 20:10, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
The page talked about other famous artists who the band has been featured on albums and played concerts with. Does that not count as significance? FiremanIntern (talk) 20:15, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
@FiremanIntern: No, although the festival is close. See WP:NBAND for a list of things that do count. Also, remember that there need to be independent reliable sources to back up the claims. At the time of deletion, the article had no independent sources. —C.Fred (talk) 20:27, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

Deleted Image?

Hi Fred,

You have deleted my updated image on Ashley Massaro's Wikipedia page for copyright violation. However, I have the request of Ashley Massaro for the change as well as the approval of the photographer as well. I can include proof if needed. Also, the image alone is used for the biography of Ashley Massaro and is acceptable under the 'Editorial use' and is NOT used to raise money, sell something, advertise, or promote in which would require a 'Commercial Use' approval.

I also had posted this concern on another 'Talk' page of yours as well.

Nat Pipitone (talk) 22:39, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

@Nat Pipitone: The photographer or owner of the image must contact Wikimedia Commons directly and verify that the image has been placed under a free license. Further, images used in the infobox of a biography of a living person must be under a free license. A license for non-commercial use is not sufficient, because even though Wikipedia is not directly a commercial use, other derivative works of Wikipedia may be deemed commercial use. —C.Fred (talk) 23:41, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
Further, if you're editing at the direction or request of Massaro, you have a conflict of interest. Depending on the exact nature of your relationship with Massaro, you may also need to complete the paid-editor disclosures. —C.Fred (talk) 23:42, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

Updates made are being undone when they should not be

I made a correct pronunciation addition to the Awassi page and twice it has been removed with no replacement.

I am not a Awassi Breeder, I do not own a single one. I do happen to have a client who is and who has been breeding these sheep for many years and is Australia's foremost breeder. If the pronunciation is incorrect then correct it, not just remove it. The corect pronunciation, verified by many many native Arabic speaking Awassi Sheep Breeders is Ahh-wassi (pausing on the A to give the Ahh sound, followed by a fast wassi. Whomever is changing this as incorrect I challenge to provide evidence of the incorrect pronunciation. I also cited Di Piggott (My name is Iain Bayly) and referenced her correctly. MasterWebsite.design (talk) 02:29, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

@MasterWebsite.design: You did not cite an independent source in your edits. We need a verifiable published pronunciation for the edit. The link you added is to a website you are creating, so that is not a permissible source; Wikipedia is not a repository for original research. —C.Fred (talk) 02:34, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

If possible, find, read, and then copy and paste my retort as a response to this so I can see that you read it. It's awful that you deleted the page without even hearing me out. as I mentioned, it is being reverted before I can make these changes or add citations. I will try to post on talk page as you suggest but on previous experince with the reversions there is a vested interest in mis-informing this particular article who is reverting without discussing it. the reverted article is largely about 15 years out of date and many of the citations which are in the reverted version refer to artists who have since changed their musical style. anyway, I will try the talk page as you suggest cheers artykmbandmaster — Preceding unsigned comment added by Artykmbandmaster (talkcontribs) 04:39, 18 June 2017 (UTC)

Since all you have to say to my requests at discussion, im starting an discussion with an Admin. Have a great day and stay cool :)

C.Fred has deleted my "Tatum Jane Brooks" Wikipedia page with "speedy delete" and did not even give me a warning. He did this because he says that the person who the article was written about was not important and i didnt have links to show it. I didnt even have the time to edit my article, since it was only an hour old i couldnt have possibly written the whole thing in that time, including all my links and things, to prove that my person was relevant and deserving of a page. My page was deleted in like 30 minutes, and i left a message on C.Freds talk. He deleted this several times, so i cannot provide a link but im sure its in his talk page history. He then left a message on my talk saying to not attack the editors, and didnt even lightly touch on my concerns. to make a long story short, i do not think he should have the right, and i dont think its fair, to delete a page without even a warning ahead of time to ask a person to change it or improve upon it. I know that my artical followed all of the rules, but i did not physically have the time to write an entire article without saving it to make sure my work wouldnt get deleted periodically. thank you for your help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Huffyypuffyy (talkcontribs) 03:26, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

You didn't miss a previous AFD. After all, G4 does not apply when the previous AFD was closed because the article was speedy deleted. I also declined the A7 because there seems to be quite a number of GNews and Gbooks hits, you might want to take it to AFD again for a full round of discussion if you can't find any real coverage. Hey. Since I am not an administrator, I was hoping you could somehow show me what the article looked like before it was deleted? Callmemirela 🍁 {Talk} 04:56, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

Callmemirela, you were almost certainly being played.
The deleted page was a laudatory biography of a fifteen-year-old "child prodigy", without any sources, speculating on the location of the subject's conception, and expounding on her superior performance in kindergarten. I would be shocked if the subject were not the editor herself, a sibling or friend, or – at best – outright fictional. It strains credulity to presume that an individual would be able to write the "article" at hand while simultaneously be unable to comprehend the basic Wikipedia policies regarding notability and sourcing to which they were directed.
Basically, the article itself was someone having a laugh, and the subsequent AN report was just trolling. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 23:50, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

Quick Questions For Further Adding Info. To Shaftesbury High Page

C.Fred If I use the community handout book that is allowed re-use and is not copyrighted at all and the book encourages people to re-use the info may I change the information to be encyclopedia friendly. I have read all the copyright policies and from my understanding I can use this information. May you please confirm that with me? But I think I might run into a problem though as the author is not stated. It says written by students and teachers at Shaftesbury and there is not publication company for this handout book, How would I go about citing this source?

Thanks, HockeyPlayer17 (talk) 18:15, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

@HockeyPlayer17: If it's "not copyrighted at all", then there should be a statement saying who the author is and that they've placed it into the public domain. If there's no such statement, copyright is implied.
Second, if it's written by SHS students, then it's a primary source. Primary sources can be used for limited purposes, but there are many purposes where an independent secondary source is needed. —C.Fred (talk) 03:13, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

To Fred

There are tens of thousands of books referenced in Wikipedia. Why are you preventing the book Accidental Refugee from being referenced in Wiki?

@Accidental Refugee: Because based on your user name, you are attempting to promote your book. Blatant promotion is not allowed. —C.Fred (talk) 03:12, 2 July 2017 (UTC)

So, can I have another Author/Friend to create the exact same page without any issues with your policy?

@Accidental Refugee: No. If they're doing it at your request, it's the same issue. The only way for the book to have an article would be for it to become notable and be written about in independent reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 03:32, 2 July 2017 (UTC)

Lenz

Hi Fred, I represent Bethany Joy Lenz and since Wikipedia is a commonly used source for information we are attempting to consolidate the amount of "Clutter" on the page in order to create a page that is easier to read, and concisely written with accurate dates. We request that you return the adjustments made earlier today, as the best resource we could possibly cite is the person about whom things are inaccurately written or unnecessarily expounded upon. Feel free to let us know if/how you need this resource verified.

Thank you! Atlasartists (talk) 04:37, 2 July 2017 (UTC)

@Atlasartists: Your edits do not comply with Wikipedia's Manual of Style and other guidelines for edits. Further, you added the name of your company to the introduction paragraph—and who represents a subject is not that important that it needs to go into the intro. Because of your declared conflict of interest, you should not be editing the article at all. —C.Fred (talk) 04:46, 2 July 2017 (UTC)

Home Inspection

The article home inspection on wiki has many inconsistencies, inaccurate data, and the main contributor of the article, NAHI (National Association of Home Inspectors) is no longer in business. NAHI closed for business in Aug 2016. Since that date it does not appear any updates have been made to the page. Yes I am a Florida licensed home inspector and I was a member of NAHI and now a member of InterNachi. The information that I updated is information that I updated has to do with Florida statutes that apply to the subject of Insurance Inspections. I only stated fact and quoted the Florida statutes in the information I updated. The NAHI website that referenced all the other information on Home Inspection is no longer operable. 1homeinspector (talk) 15:09, 2 July 2017 (UTC)

Highworth Town FC

Hi Fred

I do not edit Wikipedia that frequently and am responding to your message through this portal, which may be incorrect etiquette, if so apologies in advance! Whenever I do add my ten pence worth, I aim to only include factual infromation. I do not include opinions or bias.

Contributor 57 has taken it upon himself to delete information that I have added to the Highworth Town page. I have given up on recording Reserve and Youth team honours on this page and even runners-up and finalists, which he keeps deleting. I have found Contributor 57 quite arrogant in the way he has dealt with me. Perhaps you can help to resolve the main issue.

This football club has recently lost in two prestigious cup finals in the space of just one week. Contributor 57 keeps removing this information, citing recentism. OK, a club may lose in a final and it may well be argued that this information is not relevant to a football club page on Wikipedia (a point with which I would disagree with strongly) but to lose two cup finals is unusual and therefore noteworthy. Why does he keep deleting this? Also, he keeps trying to put me on the back foot as if it were me instigating the problem in the first place. May I ask you for your advice in this matter? Mike Markham (talk) 20:27, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

@Mike Markham: My advice is that since you two have a disagreement about the content of the article, I suggest that you discuss the matter at Talk:Highworth Town F.C. That will give other editors a chance to chime in, and hopefully a consensus will be reached about what to do with the information. —C.Fred (talk) 01:18, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Why did you rollback an edit that was not vandalism? Fusion Academy does indeed teach students all the year round; it has no summer break.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 17:33, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

@Pawnkingthree: Pattern. So many of the user's other edits were bad, that I rolled back all of them. —C.Fred (talk) 19:14, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
I see - I didn't look at their contribution history. I've put it back in the article with a reference. --Pawnkingthree (talk) 19:20, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
@Pawnkingthree: Thank you for vetting it and re-adding it. More importantly, thank you for sourcing it when adding it! —C.Fred (talk) 19:22, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Picture Use

I am setting up a company wikipedia page and wikipedia will not let me use our logo because it breaks commons rules. What can I do about this? Thanks Tpcemployee (talk) 22:24, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

@Tpcemployee: Assuming the logo is complex enough to be copyrighted, it would need to be uploaded to the English Wikipedia instead of Wikimedia Commons. We allow non-free images, such as logos, to be uploaded; Commons does not. However, as a new user, you do not have authorization to upload the image. You can request the image be added at WP:Files for upload. —C.Fred (talk) 22:26, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
That said, a quick look at the TPC website suggests that the image is ineligible for copyright protection (although it can be registered as a trademark). —C.Fred (talk) 22:27, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

External Link to the Cricket In Germany Article

That is correct and I completely understood the policy for not adding the external links. But, "cricket in Germany" is a relevant Wiki Page where we can also talk about another form of cricket - Tennis Ball Cricket. Although we don't have a professional league for it but we want to promote it as it can be converted into a league sooner or later.

Please allow me to add the description of tennis ball cricket format with some description on it and mention the team name without any external links. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saching76 (talkcontribs) 08:35, 8 July 2017 (UTC)

@Saching76: You may absolutely not add the link. The key is what you said: "we want to promote it". Wikipedia is not the place to promote organizations, games, or websites. —C.Fred (talk) 22:05, 8 July 2017 (UTC)

Being an authorized editor

Hi Fred,

I am editing Kathryn Tappens wiki page. I am an authorized editor and have the exact bio she wants me to post for her per her request. I keep having my posts taken down. How can I successfully add what she wishes to be shared on the page?

Thank you,

Margaret Rooney [redacted] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrooney2017intern (talkcontribs)

@Mrooney2017intern: The problem is, that exact bio is copyrighted by NBC Universal. Unless they release the text into the public domain, Wikipedia cannot use it. Even after they donate it, the article will still be subject to editing. In other words, the article will not appear exactly as Tappen might want it to. —C.Fred (talk) 20:54, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Why did you delete my modifications to a page.

All information is cited and factual and is being edited on behalf of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Please advise as to why you deleted my modifications to page https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Greek_life_at_the_University_of_Massachusetts_Amherst. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gabrielkagan (talkcontribs) 17:37, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

@Gabrielkagan: Three problems. One is that your formatting was non-standard and rendered the page impossible to easily compare. The second is that the material felt like it was a copy-paste, although I don't think it is on further scrutiny. Finally, if you are editing on behalf of UMass, you have a conflict of interest. —C.Fred (talk) 18:12, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi again,

Can you please refer me to a page that has proper Wikipedia formatting that I can follow. With regards to conflict of interest: if I were to author a Wikipedia page about myself, this would be a conflict of interest, however, no one in the world would have a better historical account of the information then myself. Applying this form of logic to content added to Wikipedia as a whole would render the cite useless as almost no one could add information that only the source would know. Especially, in my case, where I am giving a historical account of the subject at hand, there are no biases present. If you were to claim that it were to be a form of revisionist history, I would then direct to the sources I have cited. For you to claim that my edits are conflict of interest creates of narrative fallacy of the intentions behind editing this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.250.112.200 (talk) 13:35, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

When an editor uses the edit summary "adding on behalf of IFC (inter fraternal council) at Umass", it's a clear conflict of interest—they're editing the page about UMass Greek life on behalf of one of the Greek councils, and editing at the direction of the subject is a clear conflict. As for the formatting, there are multiple help pages about Wikipedia's markup language, plus there's the WP:Manual of Style. —C.Fred (talk) 14:15, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

i think mystirium band is the only black metal band have that name and its the only band world-wide created by one mamber band \Amin Azareum and all the band fans have to know it on wikipedia .. if you see its not important to add this band information so

so if you see this band is not important to show them information here so send me a message to stop write about them and i will remove my contact registration from here form here — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gena dandan (talkcontribs) 16:46, 22 July 2017 (UTC)

This article is about the band mystirium there is no any band named with (mystirium) created by the only one member band called (amin azareum) them music albums on all media .. if you think that band is not important to show them information here so i will dont send any of them information any more .. but if you just write on google them name (mystirium) or them main member name (amin azareum) you will find more than 300 search result on google or yahoo to read or discover them information or music albums or news or logos or photos ..est thank you about read this Gena Dandary - manager of MystiriuM band — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gena dandan (talkcontribs) 16:52, 22 July 2017 (UTC)

Hello sir .. I like to know you that im an official administrator of MystiriuM band and i have no any conflict of interest (COI) with any one or even with my job with MystiriuM band and im an editor, promoter and concerts organizer for that Norwegian/Egyptian band called (MystiriuM) and all what I do on internet is let the fans of that band know about them Music, informations, news , merchandizing , biography specially it’s the only band named with (MystiriuM) and many people want to know who they are ,, that is all what I want about ,, if the administrators of Wikipedia see this band is not a real or not important for more than 5000 thousand of metal music fans to see them information on Wikipedia so ,, I don’t care about what I will do here .. thank you Gena Dandary - manager of MystiriuM band 15:36, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

@Gena dandan: You have contradicted yourself. You have stated that you are an "official administrator of MystiriuM band" and you work for them, but you have no conflict of interest. If you work for the band, you have a conflict of interest by definition. Further, if you are being paid to put information about the band on the internet, you probably meet Wikipedia's definition of a paid editor, so you must disclose that relationship and who your employer is. So to start, please clarify which of these three you are:
  1. A paid editor, being paid by MystiriuM or their management to put information about the band on Wikipedia.
  2. An employee or contractor of MystiriuM or their management who is being paid but not specifically to place information on Wikipedia.
  3. An unpaid intern, volunteer, or other party working with or at the direction of MysteriuM or their management.
  4. A fan or other party with no connection, relationship, or contact with MystiriuM or their management beyond that available to the average fan.
I await your clarification. —C.Fred (talk) 18:46, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for your message but i want to notice your policy that i don't get paid for promoting this band called (mystirium) but im a part of them team and i don't get any cash or any financial benefits by what i do of promoting or adding them information here in Wikipedia or any other site or on all internet generally and if you dont want to add this information about this band called (mystirium) here in Wikipedia .. i can just say thank you for your interesting by messaging me for no paid you Gena Dandary - manager of MystiriuM band 16:54, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

@Gena dandan: You still have a conflict of interest, even if you aren't getting paid. —C.Fred (talk) 17:40, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
Also, it's easier to follow if you just edit the section and type your message, rather than putting everything inside an award template. —C.Fred (talk) 17:42, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

All of the active drum and bugle corps have had logos of about the same size... For some unexplained reason, over the weekend, User:Frietjes changed the infoboxes on most corps, often neglecting to include the logo size in the new one, thereby reducing some of them, including Crown's... GWFrog (talk) 20:17, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

@GWFrog: Then the logo size should be unforced on the other corps' articles. Again, there's no need to force the logo size; the WikiMedia software can select the optimal size automatically. —C.Fred (talk) 20:18, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
The WikiMedia software goes with what it has to work with... In the case of Carolina Crown, apparently the largest available logo to upload in 2008 was 150 × 55 pixels, so that is what is displayed, although most other corps logos have been around 220-250 pixels... On the old Crown Infobox, the image size was set at 270 pixels before User:Frietjes changed the infobox... GWFrog (talk) 20:30, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
@GWFrog: Can we get a logo in the 220-250 px width range? That would give the software more to work with: scaling up images is probably a bad idea. —C.Fred (talk) 20:32, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
it's better to upload higher resolution images, rather than stretching the images to a higher resolution. stretching the images to a higher resolution always looks much worse. Frietjes (talk) 20:53, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
if you took the image from their website and reduced it to say 220-250 wide you probably still fall under fairuse size and would have a much higher quality image. Frietjes (talk) 20:58, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
I have only been uploading logos when one was lacking (usually when creating a new page). Then, someone is usually unhappy with the new logo and reloads it. So I have only been uploading images when one was lacking... GWFrog (talk) 04:19, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

A few months ago, I attempted to create a page under this name, which in retrospect, I agree, I had no grounds to do, as the subject was not yet significant enough to deserve a page. But after these few months, the subject has recieved:

Whether or not it improperly used text from TD's websites, the tone was unduly promotional. (If the material were copied from TD's website, then the tone would almost certainly be unduly promotional.) —C.Fred (talk) 14:51, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi, would you mind explaining your decline here a bit more: I get G11 is a bit subjective, but this is in my opinion the worst BLP in terms of promotion I have ever seen while on NPP, and I've reviewed it again and still feel that G11 is probably applicable. I still disagree here: with lines like best known for her turnaround of the multinational restaurant franchiser Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc. and for her trademark style of management, which she calls "servant leadership, stands out somewhat among those of high-powered executives for having been interpersed with several periods working as a full-time mother and homemaker and the entire tone of the Popeyes Louisina Chicken section that portrays her as a hero and ends with alongside consistent increases in same-store restaurant sales, during a tenure which Nation's Restaurant News' Jonathan Maze characterized as "one of the most successful runs by a chief executive in recent industry history.
The only way the article in its current state would be salvageable would be to remove virtually all the prose and to do a complete rewrite. TonyBallioni (talk) 03:23, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

Delete this article ‘ISI in India’

This article named “Inter-Services Intelligence activites in India” is really controversial, hate-mongering, allegations, and biased. It has been nominated for deletion for many times. Can you check it out and it’s history and do the deed? Thanks. DawedalRaqqa (talk) 02:57, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

@DawedalRaqqa: If it's been nominated for deletion and was kept, then I'm not going to speedy delete it. Frankly, I see enough sources that it looks like the article should stay. If anything, the article may need protected to prevent vandalism. —C.Fred (talk) 03:00, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

You're not understanding me Fred, the whole article is full of hateful spew, it doesn’t represent facts. It’s utter bias by one country’s agenda. You can mark it as citation needed at least, if you can’t delete it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DawedalRaqqa (talkcontribs) 03:06, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

@DawedalRaqqa: I don't see hateful spew; I do see plenty of citations. —C.Fred (talk) 03:08, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

ok, if you say so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DawedalRaqqa (talkcontribs) 03:29, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

HLDSH allowance of page

what point in the career of HLDSH can a wikipedia page be created? thank you. you deleted the very first one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lonelyonlyvibesexist (talkcontribs) 00:07, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

@Lonelyonlyvibesexist: Before HLDSH may have an article, they must meet the notability guidelines for musicians and have been written about in multiple independent reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 00:09, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

I understand & have been going over all the information from the Wikipedia community during that time period. As well as understanding exactly what you have just told me. Thank you. Appreciate the guidance. Will follow all guidelines moving forward. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lonelyonlyvibesexist (talkcontribs) 00:14, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

I've sent this user to AIV for repetitive unsourced additions. I'm sending you this because you deleted articles I requested be speedy deleted that were created by him.

It appears he is WP:NOTHERE. Please check through his edit history carefully. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 03:48, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

Mystirium

im the owner of the band (mysterium) how i can approve and proof this ? Gena Dandary - manager of MystiriuM band 15:30, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

@Gena dandan: I'm not sure how it affects things. The band is not a notable band and may not have an article. And if the band were to become notable, you should not be the person to create the article because of your conflict of interest. —C.Fred (talk) 20:14, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

as you asking allot as This page may avoid speedy deletion under A7, requiring a full Proposed deletion or Articles for Deletion process to determine if the article should be included in Wikipedia. Many who spend significant time improving Wikipedia's musical coverage feel that notability is required for a musical topic (such as a band or musical theatre group) to deserve an encyclopedia article. Please note that the failure to meet any of these criteria does not mean an article must be deleted; conversely, meeting any of these criteria does not mean that an article must be kept. and To meet Wikipedia's standards for verifiability and notability, the article in question must actually document that the criterion is true. It is not enough to make unsourced or poorly sourced claims in the article, that mean your site is not a free one to edit or publish a real story or news or underground bands or any real events ... im sorry i thought this site is one like facebook or myspace or others for help people know some information about my band music ,,,, goodbye Gena Dandary - manager of MystiriuM band — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gena dandan (talkcontribs) 16:19, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

@Gena dandan: No, Wikipedia is not a social media site where a band can set up its online presence. Bands are better advised to do that at Facebook or a web-hosting service. —C.Fred (talk) 16:25, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
