Re: file mover
Thank you for the message. I'll be sure to keep that in mind and not do it again (LOL). I actually reread that like not too long after I moved a couple and went: "Aww shit I'm losing this already." But yeah, I won't be doing it again. xD On a similar note, my god, I went to do a few requests and there was none. What is this! ℥nding·start 19:32, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

- Please contact the deleting admin, Fastily (talk · contribs), directly. Regards SoWhy 15:01, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- Contacted admin. Listed for deletion review, twice. No consensus first time, Deletion Overturned by m.o.p. second time. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 15:16, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- As far as I can determine, the deletion review only overturned the deletion of those two files. Unless Fastily agrees to reconsider the FfD close, restoring the files would constitute wheel-warring (reversing another admin's decision against their will), so you will have to take all of those files to deletion review as well. Regards SoWhy 15:24, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- I asked Fastily to restore the files, but Fastily personally recommended me to take the issue to Del Rev. I took two seperate files to Del Rev. The Zakir Hussain case was an open-and-shut case, but instead of listing all files for restoration, I listed only Amitabh Bachchan's signature as the file was similar to all others, all others are living persons and their sigs were present on Wiki. So I knew that if Amitabh Bachchan's signature gets restored, all others would follow suit (as I didn't want to waste my and everyone elses time, because they would post a comment followed by As above ~~~~). Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 15:43, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- I understand where you are coming from but if I restored all of those files now, it would be against the explicit consensus to delete. While unlikely, we cannot just assume that those who !voted to undelete those two files would have agreed to undeleting all of them, so there is no consensus to restore them at this time. But just as multiple pages/files can be deleted at XfD at once (as was the case here), you can request the restoration of multiple files in a single DRV. Instead of creating a new discussion for every single file, create one entitled "Signatures of living people" (for example) and then list them before you make your case why they should be restored. If you need help creating the DRV discussion, just leave me a message. Regards SoWhy 16:15, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

ACC
I have requested ACC tool usage. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 16:24, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
Avenue X at Cicero thank you for applying to access the account creation tool. I have approved your request so welcome to the team. You may now access the tool here. Before you do so, please read the tool's guide thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the process. You should also join #wikipedia-en-accounts on IRC where a bot informs us when new account requests come in and to get any advice on requests as well as the mailing list. Please note that we have implemented a policy of zero tolerance on mishandled requests, and that failure to assess correctly will result in suspension. I would like to emphasize that it is not a race to complete a request, and each one should be handled diligently and thoroughly.Currently you are allowed to create up to six accounts per day, although you won't be able to create an account with a similar name to that of another user; these requests are marked "Account Creator Needed" by the bot and "Flagged user needed" in the tool. However, if you reach the limit frequently, you can request the account creator permission at WP:PERM.Please keep in mind that the ACC tool is a powerful program, and misuse will result in your access being suspended by a tool administrator. Don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions. Thank you for participating in the account creation process. Again welcome!

- Hi, I saw that you didn't have any Welcome message turned on (it is turned off by default). At the preferences you can choose different welcome-templates which were automatically posted on the talkpages of the new created users by a bot. (Otherwise you can do this with twinkle, but for what doing so much work? ^^) mabdul 12:02, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- I see your not wasting any time jumping in and working request, just a couple notes, 1). It is imperative that you be monitoring #wikipedia-en-accounts connect while you are actively working request. There is no better way to ask questions, be alerted to unique situations which may arise during a request, and just general newbie guidance. 2). As it is stated in the original acceptance message I left above, we do have in place a "zero tolerance" policy for missed handled request. Although their might be situations in which suspending access to the interface can be argued, "I was not in IRC" will not be one of them. It really is better practice. Cheers. - I see your having trouble logging in to IRC. Please let me clarify something I may have miss-implied in my previous message, In no way is monitoring the IRC channel "Mandatory" it is only strongly suggested that you do, that being said if you would like to join us and are having problems logging in I will be watching your talk page if you have any logging issues you might need assistance with please ask them here and if I don't not have a solution I'll find some one who can help. Admin Help - III
{{adminhelp}}
At the page Thibaut Courtois, please restore the page to the last revision I (Avenue X at Cicero) made. Courtois has not been transferred to Madrid as you can see from the link ("this official link") at the subject's talk page.
Thank You. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 10:53, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- Not done. The page was protected precisely because of edit warring over this fact. Adminhelp is not a way to circumvent this. Please use the talk page to discuss it. Regards SoWhy 13:18, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- But SoWhy, From this diff, you can see that I requested protection of the page. Also, from this official link, you will see that considering Courtois is a Chelsea player, he woul have been listed with the two. You can also see from Madrid's Official website that Courtois is not their player. COnsidering Chelsea did sign him, he would have made the Main Page of Chelsea's website. As you can see from one of my edit-summs, it'll read Still a Genk player. According to Chelsea's website , AVB says 'It is still a couple of days until we can confirm agreement between all three parties'.) The matter regarding Courtois' current club has really gone out of hands 'cause of some "die-hard" Chelsea fans trying to prove their clubs signings, we really need an admin to analyze all the facts. Hope you'll understand. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 14:42, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but you seem to misunderstand an admin's role. We are not moderators, we do not "analyze the facts". The way to resolve such disputes is by consensus and we have tools for dispute resolution available. Full protection in editing disputes is explicitly applied regardless of who is "right" or "wrong", it only serves to stop the dispute disrupting the article (and it does not matter who requested the protection in the first place). See the protection policy for details. The policy explicitly forbids admins to make such edits, so requesting it won't help you. You are encouraged to discuss the matter on the talk page (remember that we prefer reliable third-party sources) and when there is consensus, you can ask an admin to implement it. Until then, the page will be protected until protection expires. As a small concession, I changed the protection template on the article, so it now says clearly that protection does not endorse the "false" version. Regards SoWhy 17:19, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Thibaut Courtois
Why have you warned me when i was right about the whole thing all along. Even the official Atlético Madrid confirmed it long ago when he was loaned out. The official chelsea is really slow to put it on their website. --Shihan07 (talk) 18:22, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- O' course you were wrong. Chelsea, Genk, and Madrid, all three parties, have confirmed today (July 26 Tuesday) that Courtois has joined Madrid via Chelsea. Also, the info you added may have been correct (actually I knew all along that Courtois was gonna join CFC), but it fell under WP:CRYSTAL. The information is wrong until Chelsea confirmed about the signing even if it be in a day, week, month or year from today. SInce you are fairly knew, I suggest you read up Wiki's policies and guidelines regarding such things. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 18:37, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for your information but i personally dont edit anything without actual getting any information from the official source.--Shihan07 (talk) 19:19, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Your request for autopatrolled permission
Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:
- This permission does not give you any special status or authority
- Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
- You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
- If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
- If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Tyrol5 [Talk] 19:08, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Rollback
Since you seem unable to understand my reasoning, I will make it clear.
Your rollback rights were not removed because you failed to warn somebody. Your rollback rights were removed because you stated, and I quote, that "I know that we are allowed to delete content from our own talk page but I'm not sure if it extends to user warnings. On a personal note, I believe that removing warnings from your own user page should be regarded as vandalism". If you are that utterly unfamiliar with policy that you believe someone modifying their own talkpage to fall within the definition of vandalism, you have no business having access to anti-vandalism tools. That is why I removed the tools; not because you didn't warn somebody enough, but because you obviously don't understand what constitutes vandalism.
Since I did so, you have bombarded me with emails (even though I have repeatedly told you to keep the conversation on-wiki) and now got other users to bombard me with emails, presumably through privately pestering them to do so. Let me be clear. I or another admin will restore your rollback access when you can demonstrate that you actually understand what it is to be used by. Until then, the only impact of you emailing me despite repeated requests not to do so is going to be that I remove your email permissions. Lots of love, Ironholds (talk) 22:12, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
- bombarded past participle, past tense of bom·bard (Verb)
- 1. Attack (a place or person) continuously with bombs, shells, or other missiles: "the city was bombarded by federal forces".
- 2. Assail (someone) persistently, as with questions, criticisms, or information.
- Maye be two emails are enough to get you frustrated. I thought as an admin, it is important to keep your cool. Maybe the rule has changed. Don't know. Regards. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 04:46, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
Chelsea fc 2011/12
Hey man why are you reverting my edit. The page is about only chelsea fc 2011/12, so you don't need to publish the result about the whole tournament which is anyway a pre-season tournament. If anyone wants to find the result about the tournament then the tournament page is given. And also don't you know that a football jersey is called "Home,Away & Third. Have a visit around the other football pages and also the previous season pages. --Shihan07 (talk) 19:52, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
Accountcreator
Hello, since you are highly active on the account creation interface, I have enabled accountcreator on your account. This will enable you to ignore the normal limit on daily account creations and other checks. Please take note of the following points:
- This permission does not give you any special status or authority.
- Be sure that the conflicting account is inactive when overriding the spoofing check.
- Creation of inappropriate accounts or pages may lead to its removal.
- Disruptive editing of edit notices may lead to its removal
- You can display the
{{Accountcreator topicon}}
top icon or the{{User wikipedia/accountcreator}}
userbox on your user page. - If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it.
- If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask me. Otherwise, happy editing! Reaper Eternal (talk) 13:26, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined at Ash King
Just to let you know, I've declined your speedy deletion request for Ash King because there is a credible claim of importance, which is all that is required (even an unreferenced claim) for WP:A7. Decline speedy at Celeste Legaspi

Speedy deletion declined: FC Platinum
Hello Avenue X at Cicero. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of FC Platinum, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not a blatant hoax. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 05:09, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
- I nominated them as a blatant hoax because the Template of the ZPL did not have their name in it and the alleged stadium they play in, the Mucheke Stadium, is used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium for Masvingo United who play in the top division in Zimbabwean football. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 05:20, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
- I don't know about the football stadium, but I looked at the article's two sources, and they seem legitimate. It may be a hoax, but it's not an obvious hoax (at least not to me). If you're sure it's a hoax, try WP:PROD or WP:AfD instead. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 05:39, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: The Dreaming (EP)
Hello Avenue X at Cicero. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of The Dreaming (EP), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A9 does not apply if the artist has an article. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 05:44, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
- I tagged the page for A9 because when the article was created, the wikilink for the band was dead. So, I tagged it at around 10:20, but I had a browser crash and the revision got stored at 10:23 and only a minute before that, another user fixed one wiki link. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 05:50, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
- No problem. I figured that out after I declined the speedy deletion. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 05:57, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Rohit Vyas
Hello Avenue X at Cicero. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Rohit Vyas, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Article claims importance/significance of the subject. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 05:54, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
- The article says he broke an exclusive news story about Middle East peace negotiations. That's a sufficient claim of importance to pass A7. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 05:56, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well, maybe he is notable enough to have an article, nevertheless, I have added maintainence tags at the article. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 06:54, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
- I also checked Google Web, and there were no credible claims of his importance. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 07:51, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
Just to let you know, I've removed the speedy deletion tag (A7 criteria) from the Yohanan Simon article because a credible claim of importance is made, specifically that they have won several awards. If you feel that it doesn't meet notability criteria then by all means nominate it for deletion via WP:AfD. Thanks --Mrmatiko (talk) 18:16, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- I speedied the article only because there was not even a single source to support the claim. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 18:39, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- The lack of sources to support the claim isn't an issue, the criteria for WP:A7 is a credible claim of importance. This doesn't need any references at all.
- "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines...If the claim's credibility is unclear, you can improve the article yourself, propose deletion, or list the article at articles for deletion. " (from WP:A7)
See [1]. Anyone, including the article creator, may contest a prod, and once it has been contested, no one is allowed to replace it. The next step is AfD if you want to continue to seek deletion. LadyofShalott 19:15, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- Oops...I restored the template because HaroonMalik had deleted it without providing a reason in the edit summary. I didn't know this meant he contested the PROD. Sorry! Meanwhile, I will start an AfD. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 02:56, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- I see Drmies already added the article for deletion. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 03:10, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

advice on deletion
Most of your deletion nominations seem very appropriate, but there are a considerable number that are not, and which have been declined by several different administrators. You're using G11 and A7 too broadly, For G11, the article has to be so thoroughly promotional that there is no informational content that can be rescued by normal rediting, such as reducing to a stub. For A7, there has nto be no credible indication of any possible importance--which is much less than notability . Enough notability to qualify for a .w article is not required to pass speedy. Speedy is for the altogether hopeless.
As reviewing administrator, I am not at all reluctant to delete unsatisfactory articles--I've deleted 12,000 of them in my 4 years here. I find it helpful to re-read the exact criteria in WP:CSD from time to time, to resist the temptation to delete too many--there is so much utter junk submitted that it tends to encourage this. You should probably do similarly. And re-check WP:DElertion Policy--deletion is the last resort if there's nothing else to be done. DGG ( talk ) 17:45, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice there DGG. Will keep that in mind. Also, I have seen that many admin-hopefuls also face a similar question on A7 many a times. Will have to be extra vigilant in both these criteria. Anyways, thanks again. Happy editing! Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 17:55, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- one other thing, based on my own experience. Be very careful before labeling anything a blatant hoax. I remember deleting one early in my career as an admin, and being reversed at Deletion Review with some rather pointed comments about my ignorance in the subject area. I see you've been caught one or two times also. The safest and most usual circumstances are when a schoolboy claims to have won sensationally important prizes in multiple fields, or when someone has taken an article on a famous person, and used it in exactly the same form but with his own name, or one of his friends--usually, they even leave the original picture. Anything less obvious, list on Prod as "apparent hoax", and multiple people will take a look at it. A great thing about Wikipedia is the diversity of people's experiences and interests. Best wishes, I think you will do well. DGG ( talk ) 19:00, 14 August 2011 (UTC) .
1570 Ferrara earthquake
Exactly what sort of wikification are you proposing for 1570 Ferrara earthquake? It seems to me that it is already wikified. --Tagishsimon (talk) 19:11, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Just a quick note (which could of been fixed with a single question in IRC) this type of request [2] is not usually deferred to CU's just because of prior requests. Checking the Whois to see if it's a shared IP, checking the status of the requests listed under the IP or email (located at the bottom of the interface) can give you guidance or If you just not sure, just break your reservation and let someone else handle the request is the best thing to do. A CU has to log a valid reason for each and every check they make and this is not one, so a CU won't check it anyway. If you have any questions IRC or my talk are always open. Cheers. Hello responder...I have a question...does this article qualify as a featured list. I don't seem to understand. Any help is appreciated. Regards. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 18:19, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well, first of all, if you feel that it is a Stand alone list, then the page's title is inappropriate. Anyway, best place to get the list reviewed and ask about FL criteria is peer review. Lynch7 18:48, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Hi, just read your message. The objective of a template or Navbox is to increase the visibility of a page, so that a reader can easily sort out a page. Categories also have a similar role, but a little indirectly. District-wise Topics templates are already there. That serves the purpose of district-wise sorting of constituencies. I got the idea of alphabetically ordered constituency Navbox from the Municipalities of West Bengal Navbox. It was created by Vprajkumar. He is an editor from Tamilnadu and obviously was looking at things a little differently from me. I was used to working district-wise and he was looking at things in totality. The difference and the idea struck me and I developed this template. When things are set in totality, it is usually in alphabetical order. This template would help people trying to find constituencies at random. Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 02:01, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
- I had a second thought and added a 'See also' section to the template. Thanks for the idea. - Chandan Guha (talk) 03:07, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
- I would rather that you put all constituencies alphabetically but in different lines. Also, if possible, number the constituencies (you can find the numbers here). Regards, Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 08:31, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
Admin help
Hi admin! I have recently created a message and plan to circulate the outreach + invite + request + reminder to Indian Wikipedians. You can view it here. The question is will it be considered canvassing/talk page spamming/anything illegal? Thank You. Regards, Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 10:04, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- It's not canvassing, since you aren't asking for support or anything like that. However, people may get annoyed, and 1900 messages might just be a little excessive. Reaper Eternal (talk) 10:35, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- How about the 300 mark? — Waterfox ~talk~ 13:25, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- 300 mark? If you mean the WikiProject India members, the purpose is detroyed because my sole intention was to ease the process of joining WikiProject India simply by adding the {{WikiProject India topicon}} template to their userpage. Anyways, I have added a Note at the bottom of the message, have a look. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 13:33, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- I see. I'm not too sure then. — Waterfox ~talk~ 16:22, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
