Any page watchers interested in co-nominating for GA status?

There are a handful of articles I've worked on that are in decent shape but could use some polishing before being nominated for Good article status. I am curious if any page watchers might be interested in finalizing and co-nominating any of the following Wikipedia articles:

If so, let me know here or on the article's talk page! Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:47, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

(gasp) I'll copyedit as many as I can, starting with MidCity SmashBurger. TWOrantulaTM (enter the web) 20:30, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
@TrademarkedTWOrantula Thanks! If you come across any inaccuracies or content gaps, feel free to share on the talk page. For MidCity in particular, I recall needing to double check the criteria for the "best in the world" claim and decide if this was valid for inclusion. Otherwise, could be a fun article to collaborate on! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:49, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
@TrademarkedTWOrantula: Thanks for your help on MidCity, and congrats on the GA! Looking forward to other collaborations. By the way, I added a note on the Metrovino talk page if you're interested in reviewing that entry. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:53, 18 July 2024 (UTC)

Uploading logo files

Extended content

Hi Another Believer. You recently uploaded several logos for restaurants and other establishments that appear to be too simple to be eligible for copyright protection under US copyright law as explained in c:COM:TOO United States. Most of if not all of these files either have already been or should be re-licensed as public domain content. Playing it safe and uploading content as non-free is, for sure, OK, particularly when not sure whether a logo is eligible for copyright protection; the US, however, has a relatively high threshold of originality and pretty much any timeype of text-only logo or combination of simple shapes and colors is going to be considered to simple for copyright protection. Many of your recent files seem to be this type of logo and should eventually be moved to Commons since Commons is perfectly fine in hosting files of logo as along as they meet c:COM:TOO and c:COM:CB#Logos. You can save others some cleanup work, if you just uploaded such files directly to Commons; Commons files are "global" in the sense that they can be easily used by all WMF projects whereas Wikipedia files are "local" and can only be used on Wikipedia. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:30, 11 July 2024 (UTC); edited 21:00, 11 July 2024 (UTC)

I'd rather upload here and let others move to Commons appropriately, but thanks. ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:21, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
That's fine. You can upload public domain or otherwise freely licensed file to Wikipedia if you want. If you do so, though, tagging them with {{Copy to Wikimedia Commons}} will make it easier for others to find them. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:00, 11 July 2024 (UTC)

File:Jeju (restaurant) logo.png

Extended content
Simple text logos of restaurants located in the US like File:Jeju (restaurant) logo.png are almost certain to be too simple to be eligible for copyright protection under US copyright law per c:COM:TOO United States, and there's no reason to upload them locally to Wikipedia as non-free content. They really should be uploaded to Commons instead. If you're not sure about such a logo, you can always ask for opinions at WP:MCQ or c:COM:VPC.
Commons requires the content it hosts be accpetably freely licensed or within the public domain in the both the US and the country of first publication because its servers are in the US and its content is "global" (i.e. content that can be used by all Wikimedia Foundation projects). So, for restaurants in the US, only US copyright law needs to be considered.
For restaurants located in other countries or international chains incporporated outside of the US, things could be a little trickier to assess because the threshold of originalty each country follows isn't always the same. However, even in such cases, it still might be possible license the file as {{PD-ineligible-USonly}} for use on Wikipedia instead of non-free because Wikipedia content is "local" (i.e. content that can only be used on Wikipedia) which means it only needs to comply with US copyright law.
If you know all of this already, then my apologoies for mistakenly assuming otherwise. You can, however, save some time and effort if you can assess whether the logo is too simple to be non-free yourself, and just upload the file to Commons if it is because that's the best place for it. Commons has no problem hosting logos that a released under an acceptable free license or are too simple to be eligible for copyright protection. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:39, 18 July 2024 (UTC)

Adding Bistro Agnes to Good Article Review Circles

I was hoping to get your permission to add articles you have nominated, including Bistro Agnes, to Good article review circles. I have previously done this with some other articles, and this wouldn't involve any extra effort on your part as I would be doing the review of someone else's work. Thanks! A tag has been placed on Category:Donald Trump articles by importance indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Gonnym (talk) 19:15, 21 August 2024 (UTC)

Personal interest template

Extended content

Hi!

I'm writing in response to your comment on my Polish draft of article about... well, you (:D). I don't think that the Polish Wikipedia has something similar, but I am also not really an expert - I just write and translate some things when I have time and energy. Also, the article exists only as draft on my personal Wikipedia page - sadly, Polish Wikipedians believe the subject is not encyclopedic enough. Maybe you forgot about that (I dunno, I feel like I do not understand fully the social context of your comment, for which I wanna apologize).

Best wishes! ;-)

@Kaworu1992 No worries! Just wanted to make sure I didn't need to add a connected contributor template. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:56, 21 August 2024 (UTC)

The "logo" is just the default image for a Facebook page whose name starts with C, before one is uploaded. Do you have an actual logo to substitute instead? Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 23:25, 21 August 2024 (UTC)

Cities, list of bakeries

Hiya. I removed the cities from the list of bakeries; I didn't realize that you were the editor who added them. I know you are a superstar here re: content etc. I deleted the cities because the US section was the only section of the article that included locations. In related news, I gotta get back to Seattle to Portland. JSFarman (talk) 14:58, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

@JSFarman Hi, Julie! Me?, a "superstar"? I'll take it, thanks! I would think we'd want to include locations, but I don't feel strongly and appreciate consistency on Wikipedia. I imagine one day the US section will be forked out to List of bakeries of the United States, but for now, thanks for the note and holler if you find yourself in the great PNW :) Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:08, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

Notice

The article Bar Cala has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't meet WP:NCORP: all sources are either trivial coverage or non-independent.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Montlake Branch Library requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Fram (talk) 12:32, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
