St Mary's School Draft Page
Hi,
I've removed sources written directly by the school. The Independent Schools Council, and Girls Schools Association are by organizations that give detail on the school. Wikipedia article references have also been replaced with links. Is that ok?
Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Charlotte Panayiotou (talk • contribs) 20:01, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- That's better. Keep them coming. Those are mainly listings from the organizations, so need the ones from the newspapers like that Free Press one. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:11, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Hi, I have taken over editing this page as have been advised by Wikipedia to create my own account instead of acting on behalf of another person. Just so I'm clear, do you mean I need to cite organisations such as newspapers instead of the organisation listings? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elderpoptarts (talk • contribs) 20:14, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
I have now further removed references to organisations that the school is part of - external links no longer cross over with references. Is this what you were suggesting? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elderpoptarts (talk • contribs) 20:20, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- Elderpoptarts, the more secondary sources you can add, such as the news articles, that would help the article's notability. See WP:ORGCRIT. Some of the facts like number of students or who the principal is can still be referenced to the primary sources of the directories / government / organization listings. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:27, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Ok, do you think the article is likely to be approved then? Also if I resubmitted it before the most recent changes were made, will it still be reviewed with the recent changes? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elderpoptarts (talk • contribs) 20:37, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- Elderpoptarts, any AFC reviewer can do the review; doesn't have to be me. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:32, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Hi, is the History section ok now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elderpoptarts (talk • contribs) 15:49, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, Elderpoptarts, I have passed it through. Congrats! AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:53, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- Elderpoptarts, see if you can structure it per the guidelines in this essay WP:WPSCHOOLS/AG. That has some tips as to what detail to put in. I think the article's got good potential as it is backed up by a lot of government based websites. Keep finding more newspapers / journal articles that are not connected to the school; the Attain ones are published by the school. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:18, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Ok, will do! Thank you for all your help Elderpoptarts (talk) 16:23, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Aurora Gulli
"So she got her name put on a patent."
--> Sir, please do not be disrespectful in front of a young woman. "She got her name put on a patent" appears as diminushing her contribution.
"She wasn't the principal inventor and the coverage provided so far are random local newspapers"
--> In patents there is not a concept of primary and secondary inventors. Aurora is an inventor as the others.
- So find more news sources to indicate otherwise. Stuff like this: [1] or this [2] Note those are national newspapers. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:48, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
--> Are you suggesting to find a U.S. based local newspaper that is reporting the story? I don't have one as of yet but working on it. I wonder whether the communication with USPTO regarding this [3] is helpful
"Harrison, Paul to me
Antonio, Congratulations to you and your daughter Aurora. Regards, Paul
From: Antonio Gulli <a.gulli@gmail.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 27, 2018 2:54 PM To: Harrison, Paul <Paul.Harrison@USPTO.GOV>; Subject: Re: STATISTICAL INQUIRY
Hi Paul, that's what I suspected. It seems that the youngest person is Robert Patch
In 1962, 5-year-old Robert Patch cobbled together a couple of shoe boxes and some bottle caps to create a vehicle that could transform into three different trucks: a dump truck, a flatbed, and a box truck. His patent attorney father saw potential and applied for a patent in his son’s name. Young Robert Patch signed his name with an "X"—he didn’t know how to spell yet. Though Patch turned 6 by the time the patent was granted, it was still young enough to be the youngest patent holder ever at the time. On June 4, 1963, patent #3,091,888 was granted to the amazing six-year-old inventor Robert Patch for a "toy truck". Robert Patch's toy truck was designed to be easily assembled and disassembled by a kid and the toy could be changed into different types of trucks each time (ie. closed van style body or dump truck).
If that's indeed the case, then my daughter Aurora Gulli is the youngest woman who holds a patent.
In 2014, at the age of 3, Aurora saw her father turning off the light in her house. Believing that there must be an easier way to do the job, Aurora together with her brothers, Leonardo and Lorenzo, proposed to develop a plug which controls when to switch off the light automatically. Their father, excited by their spark of creativity, decided to file a patent on 31th, July 2014[2]. The patent was granted 3 years later on 11th, November 2017, when Aurora was 6 years old. US patent 9811102, Aurora Gulli & Leonardo Gulli, Lorenzo Gulli, Antonio Gulli, "System and methods for monitoring and reducing the consumption of electricity with a network of smart sensors", published 2016-02-04, issued 2017-11-07, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Agulli (talk • contribs) 05:34, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
I'm just trying to get it to pass WP:NEVENT or WP:GNG. You're welcome to resubmit it, perhaps another editor might find it notable enough? Also, it's clear that you are connected to the subject, so that's why I've tagged it as such. WP:COI. Also it shouldn't require your personal documentation of emails; the news sources coverage is more important to show notability. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 06:31, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
--> Thanks, I appreciate your comments and want to give myself to understand better the situation before taking next steps. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Agulli (talk • contribs)
Reply on my Jiren Draft Review
Hi. Nice to see that you did review and analyzed my article, despite not getting the result I needed. But that's okay, seeing as that was my first article. I looked into your profile and it seems that you are an experienced user, so I guess it'd be nice to see you impart some wisdom and practice towards budding users.
I will be honest in that my citations weren't exactly the best, and I am willing to refine on that. In addition, the article is almost complete (There's one more section I need to work on). I will try to see if I can find better link references.
Thank you and kind regards.
— Preceding unsigned comment added by CrimsonShark (talk • contribs) 02:03, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- I think this is concerning Draft:Jiren (Dragon Ball). The main thing is to add that Reception section and find secondary sources that cover this character in detail, since that will be the main thing that dictates the notability of this fictional character. Notice many of the other Dragon Ball characters don't have their own articles, but the major ones like Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Bulma, which have detailed Reception sections, do. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 02:13, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
I will be able to work on the "Reception" section soon enough and provide adequate secondary research should I devote myself into. The reason I decided to make an article based on Jiren is because he was the foremost antagonist of the latest Dragon Ball Super arc and that because he was given enough emphasis, he is a character significant enough to have a Wikipedia article (Relating to the "notability" department). — Preceding unsigned comment added by CrimsonShark (talk • contribs) 02:33, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
Help, recovering and editing deleted page
hi AngusWoof, a page i created was deleted, i need your help recovering it and edit accordingto the Wikipedia norms. The page titled as Jay_Sarraf Fearlessniki (talk) 07:18, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
- You'll have to provide evidence that he will be notable. Per the discussion at Wikipedia:Miscellany_for_deletion/Draft:Jay_Sarraf, he does not appear to be a notable academic. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 02:09, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
Thanks, where do you provide? I shall re rewrite and add references if allowed to bring back the draft, or kindly suggest alternative to provide proof. Fearlessniki (talk) 05:28, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- I'd try your sandbox for now and then ping some of the editors who voted on the MFD to see if those sources you added would suffice. But last time it was only a handful of papers, and he wasn't even tenured or a named chair/distinguished. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:16, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
Re: Deletion of Lallit Anand article
Hi Anguswoof, Thanks for bringing the copyright infringement to my attention in the article for Lallit Anand. If the body of the article was rewritten and used quotes from the CV source, would it then be accepted? THanks again for your help with this! Cspinell (talk) 15:26, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- Cspinell, it needs a complete rewrite so that it isn't the same as the resumes or his website. You shouldn't need to provide quotes from his CV. Look for news sources that cover him in detail. The article needs to show he meets WP:NACADEMIC, which I think he should if he has a named professorship, but you'll need secondary sourced news articles again to reveal that, not press releases from the school. The CV and website are primary, self-published sources, so they do not help with notability. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:09, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- Cspinell, you should probably include his William Prager Medal award. [4] [5] He's also an ASME Fellow. Also this article from International Journal of Plasticity where he's the "cover story". [6] AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:03, 5 December 2018 (UTC)

rejection of Newborn Behavioral Observations (NBO) system page
Hi there,
I am hoping you may be able to help me edit my NBO page. I've tried to change the text to reflect a more objective stance on the tool, but want to ensure it is objective enough for wikipedia's standards. I personally think this is a critical tool for mothers to be aware of, so I would like to get this up on wiki ASAP. thanks for your help. KathrynR191 (talk) 15:23, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- KathrynR191, the issue is that it reads like a brochure touting the benefits of using the tool, and doesn't give a neutral perspective of the tool. There could be a Reception section on how the tool has been received by people in the medical field, and related awards and criticism (both positive and negative). Also the history of how it came about isn't that clear. What year was it released? How long has it been an idea? Who conceived of this? How is it being marketed? Who uses them? The doctors or the parents? Apparently there's training too. The citations can include some primary sources / research papers, but it should also have papers from researchers that aren't related or connected to the people in NBO that have cited that tool in their research. In fact, citations should be mostly secondary sources independent of the subject. Any journals or news articles that talk about this tool? Here are some news articles / videos on NBO. [7] [8] And here's one that was covered by Claudia Gold in Psychology Today. [9] (another article by Claudia Gold 2017) [10] [11] Irish Times / Sheila Wayman [12] Hope this helps. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:46, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
This is incredibly helpful, thank you very much for taking the time to outline the changes that are needed. I am new to wiki so any advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Are you able to view my page before I resubmit for approval? If so, I would really appreciate if you could take a look. Thanks again for your help. KathrynR191 (talk) 17:10, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
My page was denied for a lack of notability.
Hi,
I accept your decision on my page for Head of NASA and the 2 Amish Boys, but I just wanted to say that I created the page not because of Monstercat, or iTunes, but because every other album by Infected Mushroom has a page of its own. I figured that would warrant this album to have its own page as well. As for notability: Infected Mushroom has been a great influence on the psychedelic trance scene and the electronic music scene as a whole since the 90's, so I thought that'd be sufficient too. Kind regards, Veldhuis94Veldhuis94 (talk) 13:38, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
- Veldhuis94, please add secondary sources and reviews that demonstrate that this album is notable. WP:NALBUM Otherwise this would just redirect to Infected Mushroom's discography. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 13:40, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
RQ: Create Filmography Guide For Greg Cipes
Most voice actors have their own filmography to show the shows movies and games they worked on, but do you think Greg should get his own because of the vast amount of roles he has both in animation and live action?
He has no signs of stopping real soon. Since this is swelling up too fast.
So do you take this as a yes or no? Please answer me back.
Sincerely,
67.81.163.178 (talk) 14:06, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
- What's swelling up too fast? His filmography? It needs to be trimmed down to only the entries that can be sourced. If, after the trimming, he still has a lot of entries, then consider splitting off the filmography. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 02:07, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- 67.81.163.178, I've crafted the filmography section, please take a look. It doesn't look big enough to split off. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:29, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for your help on Davina Michelle
Hi! Thanks for your copyediting on Davina Michelle! I've been wikignoming for years, but this is one of the first times I've actually started a new article, and I'm happy to see it got accepted and improved so quickly! rchard2scout (talk) 10:54, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- Rchard2scout, I figured someone getting the number-one song in their country is probably notable enough, especially when there are other magazine articles discussing her past. I'm a bit confused about the MC's involvement in the song. Did the MC produce the song? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:13, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- I can see how that could be confusing, probably my fault for badly translating the original Dutch article. No, MC Fit originally released the song in 2013, Davina Michelle's version is a cover. I've reworded the sentence about him a little, hope this clears it up. rchard2scout (talk) 19:40, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
Was my article resubmitted?
Hello! Thank you for all of your help. I have done as requested and added many references as well as new photos I personally own/own the copyright to. Help.
Hey, while AfC reviewing I came up at the draft you declined Draft:Mark S. King which got resubmitted. I have posted my comments on the draft page if you would mind to look at the draft again, but I have no clue what to do with this. He does seem possibly notable, but there are just a lot of issues here. Jovanmilic97 (talk) 19:27, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- Jovanmilic97, It depends on whether he meets WP:GNG given the sources currently presented in the article. Name drops in news articles he's contributed to doesn't help. If the article isn't ready yet, then it's not ready. Also check WP:AFCR. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:39, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
NPR Newsletter No.16 15 December 2018
Hello AngusWOOF,
- Reviewer of the Year
This year's award for the Reviewer of the Year goes to Onel5969. Around on Wikipedia since 2011, their staggering number of 26,554 reviews over the past twelve months makes them, together with an additional total of 275,285 edits, one of Wikipedia's most prolific users.
- Thanks are also extended for their work to JTtheOG (15,059 reviews), Boleyn (12,760 reviews), Cwmhiraeth (9,001 reviews), Semmendinger (8,440 reviews), PRehse (8,092 reviews), Arthistorian1977 (5,306 reviews), Abishe (4,153 reviews), Barkeep49 (4,016 reviews), and Elmidae (3,615 reviews).
Cwmhiraeth, Semmendinger, Barkeep49, and Elmidae have been New Page Reviewers for less than a year — Barkeep49 for only seven months, while Boleyn, with an edit count of 250,000 since she joined Wikipedia in 2008, has been a bastion of New Page Patrol for many years.
See also the list of top 100 reviewers.
- Less good news, and an appeal for some help
The backlog is now approaching 5,000, and still rising. There are around 640 holders of the NPR flag, most of whom appear to be inactive. The 10% of the reviewers who do 90% of the work could do with some support especially as some of them are now taking a well deserved break.
- Really good news - NPR wins the Community Wishlist Survey 2019
At #1 position, the Community Wishlist poll closed on 3 December with a resounding success for NPP, reminding the WMF and the volunteer communities just how critical NPP is to maintaining a clean encyclopedia and the need for improved tools to do it. A big 'thank you' to everyone who supported the NPP proposals. See the results.
- Training video
Due to a number of changes having been made to the feed since this three-minute video was created, we have been asked by the WMF for feedback on the video with a view to getting it brought up to date to reflect the new features of the system. Please leave your comments here, particularly mentioning how helpful you find it for new reviewers.

Help with Live Love Life EP
Hello, I read your comment about needing critical reviews about the ep to publish my article so I tried to find some, but there doesn't seem to be any up on the internet.
If there is anything else I could add to get this page up I'll do it, but if not that's okay and I'll delete the article.

List of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir characters
Hi @AngusWOOF: I'm reviewing this article and it has a bunch of out of band refereces. Are they decent? scope_creepTalk 02:24, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi scope_creep, I'm not sure what you mean by out of band references. The ones I know are good are the tweets from Thomas Astruc (creator), officiai website, and the voice actor tweets. However, there are other original research statements being fancrufted into the article such as "she represents the Yin" that should be tagged; clearly written after I scrubbed and crafted most of it. Note Marinette and Adrien now have their own articles; some major fans embellished that to some big articles but at least they have reception. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:51, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi AngusWOOF So the Tweets are valid. What about Facebook and Tumblr references? Tumblr is a blog site. Facebook is user generated and is low-quality content at the best of the times. scope_creepTalk 16:08, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, the tweets and tumblrs are verified by Astruc (the show's creator). As for Facebook and Tumblr, again, it depends on who posted it. If it's TF1 (official broadcast station), or by Astruc, those are verified to be good. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:12, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- The Facebook is coming from Kira Buckland so that's a voice actor self-identifying that she voiced a character. Most of those are acceptable, again, if they are coming from their official social media. WP:SELFPUB as long as they are not extraordinary claims; she's voicing a minor character, so not extraordinary. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:15, 16 December 2018 (UTC)

Regarding Draft of Eric Stallmer
Hi Angus,
Thank you for reviewing my draft for Eric Stallmer. After reviewing the material available on him it seems that there probably are not enough secondary sources to do a full article on him at this time. Is it appropriate/possible for me to establish a page redirect to Commercial Spaceflight Federation (of which Stallmer is the president) while maintaining the existing draft as a framework for future edits if/when Stallmer meets the notability guidelines?
I'm slowly working on Commercial Spaceflight Federation to bring it up to standard.
Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by WordsQuilted (talk • contribs) 17:24, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
- WordsQuilted, you can make a redirect to that page. Also that page could use some secondary sourcing as it seems to be tagged for notability as well. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:57, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
Midnight Sun Draft
I have followed the format for comparable micro-brewery articles across Wikipedia.
Does this need to be removed for the same reasons:Full Sail Brewing Company? They only use 6 sources and their news link is basically their local paper.Luke Kindred (talk) 21:55, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
- It needs to meet WP:ORGCRIT. If you can supply enough reliable sources to meet the crtieria there, then it's probably worth another shot at submitting this for approval. I'm trying to make sure it doesn't get stuck in the WP:MILL AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 21:57, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
There are plenty of other sources I tried to pick the ones that zoomed in on the points I was making. So thank you for the advice, I will revise suggested edits and try again. On another note, I am disturbed that you are referencing (as a threat to deletion) an unofficial and generally controversial policy which is not official Wikipedia policy WP:MILL. Is Wikipedia actually like government politics where the laws and rules are just there for morale? I'll be sad if that's true. I'm really enjoying contributing and editing.
I am baffled that there is any indication of a lack of notability. Beer is a significant part of both American history and culture and Alaska State history, culture and economics. Midnight Sun's place in that is tremendous. For many people a Midnight Sun Brewery beer is the only thing they will ever touch see purchase which is from the state of Alaska.
I mean no offense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luke Kindred (talk • contribs) 23:09, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Luke Kindred, I just discovered there's already an article in the mainspace for Midnight Sun Brewing Company and it's been around since 2015, so you should move your information over there. If it's significant to the history of the America there should be some decent writeups in books and journals there. Well, it doesn't matter since that article hasn't been put up for AFD over there since its creation, so it's probably going to stay around. Hope that helps! AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:00, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- Full Sail's got a bunch of BrewBound (oregon-based) articles, Oregon Business [13] but also articles in Statesman Journal, [14], Washington Post [15], CNBC [16], MarketWatch [17]. Outside [18] It's more than the handful of local papers. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:12, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- WP:MILL's there because there are hundreds of articles submitted every day that are essentially advertisements for a company or a person (like resumes or corporate profiles). If this one was more like that, I'd probably send it to speedy deletion for advertising and copyright violations, but it is written objectively and there are good sources to indicate it isn't a promotional piece. Request on 22:02:16, 17 December 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Codeandsupply
The rejection reason mentioned press releases by sponsoring organizations placed in local newspapers as a reason for rejection. However, none of the resource articles were press releases and were all natural coverage of the event and its impact. Four of the sources opensource.com, NET Magazine, The Daily WTF, and Business Insider are national. Technical.ly is regional, but not the conference's region. Only The Incline and Next Pittsburgh are local news sources and were used for factual information.

- Only one of the sources is a blog by a single author and it was used only to get the number of sessions from a second source other than the official website. - MAMusicologist, a lot of the sources aren't showing his notability as an independent artist. He's worked with a lot of well known acts as a supporting musician. But I'm needing to find more secondary sources that would enable him to meet WP:MUSICBIO. Independent Spirit Awards isn't as notable an award as the Grammys, and it's not clear if he received any individual Grammies besides with FLOW. Laura Sullivan got her Grammy, Seeger got his Grammy, but he only participated in their albums. I trimmed down the resume-stuffing peacock verbiage regarding his financial services career that is more suitable for LinkedIn profiles. If he did some major advancements with Raymond James, it should be supported by newspapers independent of the subject, not his own company's writeup. The interview with Ambient Visions is helpful but again that's a primary source and we need secondary sources independent of the subject. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:33, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
I don't think the Raymond James stuff is all that important to his artistry: I included it as I found it interesting. If it can't be substantiated I can't see it necessary for inclusion.
I think the reality of some of these smaller genre's is that the Grammy awards are not comprehensive. The Grammy's can go deep into every genre. The ZoneMusicReporter is a recognition by those that play the music of this genre on the radio. Note this from their nomination requirements: "If you meet the qualifications listed below, you're included in the field of award qualifiers:
An artist or label must have had a recording(s) that appeared in the Top 50 of our Top 100 Chart during the period December 2016 through November 2017 to qualify for all categories except "Album of the Year."
To qualify for "Album of the Year," a recording had to appear in the Top 10 of our Top 100 Chart during the period December 2016 through November 2017. Your recording did not appear in any previous years' ZMR Music Awards Qualifier list. If you meet these three criteria, you are eligible for nomination."
Likewise the Independent Music Awards: "The Independent Music Awards® is a global community of innovative Artists and engaged Fans. We believe artistry, diversity and the pursuit of excellence should be celebrated. And rewarded.
Now in its 17th year, The IMAs honor the most exceptional music, video, concert photography and designs by established and emerging talent. And connects them to a wider audience.
Iconic Artists, Music Fans, Programmers, Press, Music Supervisors & Talent Buyers throughout the Americas, Europe and Pacific Rim choose the year’s best self-released & indie label projects."
Both are international awards for their genres.
Not recognizing these awards would be like saying the Sundance Movie Awards or the Cannes Movie awards don't count because they aren't the Oscars.
I see you're in there editing and I really appreciate how you are making it better. I'm watching and learning and appreciate that, too!
MAMusicologist (talk) 18:02, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
For the Independent Music Awards, http://independentmusicawards.com/artist/past-ima-programs/, you need to enter Jeff Oster's name into the search box in the upper right portion of the page.
MAMusicologist (talk) 18:56, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- MAMusicologist, you'll have to find some secondary sources to show that the Independent Music Awards are notable. I couldn't find any, so I had to make it a disambiguation page. Cannes and Sundance are notable as independent film festivals among mainstream media, so it should have similar coverage. Zone Music Awards I am not sure Wikipedia would consider that as notable as the Grammy as it is not listed among those in WP:MUSICBIO. If you can convince the previous AFD folks at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeff Oster that there are sources that show he is notable. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 06:34, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
Let me see what I can find.
This disappointing thing about this is that there are A LOT of artists on Wikipedia that don't qualify based MUSICBIO. As a new author, should I suggest we delete all those, too? I'm really confused as to what stays and what goes. If others aren't likewise deleted, this feels arbitrary, which is confusing to a new author like me. MAMusicologist (talk) 13:28, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
- Some of the artists might meet WP:GNG instead of WP:MUSICBIO, or WP:ENT (TV show stars). AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:59, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
I can easily find at least six artists less credentialized than Oster with their only credentializing being Zone Music Awards. Should I throw them under the bus? MAMusicologist (talk) 14:02, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- I would tag them for notability first and if they haven't been improved for a while since then, or they are really not notable (can't find any news articles about the person, then AFD. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:03, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
I'll leave that to someone else. It seems a bit harsh. These folks are notable in this genre. MAMusicologist (talk) 21:36, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

The comment that this list is the same as the list of Cambridge a university Cricket Club players is incorrect. The MCCU is a different team. This list, as described is for players who have played first class games for the Cambridge UCCE or MCCU. The Cambridge Auniversity Cricket Club list dips for players that have played first class games for Cambridge University. The two sets of games are completely different. The only possible overlap is that he UCCE/MCCU may from time to time select players from Cambridge University who might also play first class games for Cambridge University, but this does not recognise that The UCCE/MCCU also selects players from Anglia Ruskin University.
Crickbadger (talk) 07:23, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
Angus, please can you clarify "Comment: Please remove the billing initial formatted name; those are not necessary, and aren't on display on other similar club lists. Please also remove the entries of cricketers that do not have a Wikipedia listing." Is it the names with initials that you would like to see deleted? Regards.
- Crickbadger, please provide External links on the draft which points to only to UCCE or MCCU listings. It is currently pointing to CUCC, so that gives the impression that it's meant to be a listing of CUCC players, which is why I said it was redundant with List of Cambridge University Cricket Club players as a content fork. WP:CFORK. As for the billed name, this isn't necessary. I don't see any other lists of cricket teams and alumni that use the initial system outside of the CUCC article. They just use common names as with List of Australia Test cricketers. Finally, per WP:ALMAMATER, list only notable cricket players, that is, ones with Wikipedia articles. The others should not be listed unless it's a more precise list like a Hall of Fame. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:11, 21 December 2018 (UTC)

Thank you AngusWOOF.
The reason I want this back is so I can edit it. After a lot of research, I now have references to 14 printed newspaper stories from 1971 through to 2005. Until recently, these were very hard to find, but these are now available at newspapers.com and newspaperarchive.com and I have the references to them, so I can completely rewrite anything that needs it. Over 40 years, through six different administrations, Kapneck calmed down the Maryland campus protest disruptions and went on to boost the State economy by bringing in thousands of European companies to partner with US companies, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs for the people of Maryland and other states. One example is the 2004 story about the Maritime Autowash, which had 400 employees (I spoke to the owner of the company). I also located copies of the official appointment letters from three governors.
I think this is an important story to tell. I'm just asking for a chance to present it at Wikipedia, where stories like this should be, and like you, I know there are many entries here that tell no story at all, so I'm just asking for the chance to edit this and present it for review. It may take me a few months to do it.
Here are examples of the newspaper references:
Trouble is Main Topic at U. of Maryland Meet: [1]
Maryland Briefs [2]
Mandel Asks Ban on Sale: [3]
Phil Kapneck gets State Job in Brussels: [4]
Maritime Autowash [5]
If you search for Kapneck at this site, you will see there are dozens of relevant references, that I couldn't find before.
I appreciate your help

- Photoloop, I don't think it was nominated for deletion, so you can still work on it in draft. The quotes can just be in regular quotes not italicized. The main issue was that it was presented like a eulogy or advertisement, all positive stuff about the person, and not objective. He has probably done both good and not so good things, so it is only fair to present both sides with the appropriate weight. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:03, 22 December 2018 (UTC)
- Photoloop, oh okay, I see what might have happened. If the draft goes unedited for six months, it can be deleted, but it can be recovered if there is interest. Right now it is still active but you should probably add some of your new edits to the draft to keep it active anyway. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:05, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

About the declined article on "Alex Henry Foster"
Hello, first of all, thank you for your taking the time to review my article :)
If I understood well, it was stated that the topic of the article “Alex Henry Foster” wasn’t suitable for an “artist/musician” page” as a solo artist since some of the accomplishments he did was with his band. But ain’t it normal for a singer/frontman of a band that has been spanning more than a decade to have accomplished a lot through his band, being the one initiating those accomplishments as the leader of the band?
And I don’t know if you’re familiar with French itself (language in which most of the articles I selected for this Wiki article have been written as the topic is French and reviews about him are often in French) and Canada, but Alex Henry Foster has been on major TV shows, such as Tout le monde en parle, which is nationwide, and his recent solo album was just covered with press from all around the country since its release. More articles were just released these last few days in press from a cost to another (Vancouver and Toronto Sun, Journal de Montréal/Journal de Québec) and was charting in the top sales on SoundScan reports, Billboard, l’Adisq & iTunes, ahead of Muse, Imagine Dragons, Lady Gaga, Queen and The Beatles… ain’t it enough of a reason to be recognized as an artist?
Thank you for your help!
Mme Gogo (talk) 04:06, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
- Mme Gogo Please cite those articles from the Canadian and French press then, and highlight which ones give him significant coverage. If he charted on Billboard, please post those chart references. The articles should focus on Foster himself though, not the band. Otherwise, like I said before, it will just end up being a redirect to the band page. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 04:10, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
Hello AngusWOOF!
Thank you for your feedback. I did some researches and came up with this below. I believe I did cite most of the articles in the Wiki article I had built, but I’ll make sure to add the newest ones which were released in the last few days since I submitted my article for review.
About the press/media coverage:
- Here is one that was released in the Vancouver Sun, highlighting Alex Henry Foster’s album being in the top charts (Billboard, SoundScan): https://vancouversun.com/entertainment/music/5-things-to-know-about-windows-in-the-sky-by-alex-henry-foster
It was also spread across Canada in similar major news outlets: Regina Leader-Post (the daily newspaper of Regina, Saskatchewan): https://leaderpost.com/entertainment/music/5-things-to-know-about-windows-in-the-sky-by-alex-henry-foster/wcm/2e5b0f63-bf5c-4132-85ab-9722f5a8ed43

- He also appeared on the front page of the “Artist” section of Le Journal de Montréal / Le Journal de Québec, highlighting his album charting at the top on iTunes Canada : https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2018/11/20/alex-henry-foster-un-succes-inattendu
You can read the translation in English here: http://alexhenryfoster.com/ahf-an-unexpected-succes/
- The top charts (Billboard, SoundScan, iTunes) were also reported in the FYI Music News (a journal for and about Canada's music and music industry. The FYI readership is coast-to-coast-to-coast, but subscribers with an interest in Canada's music scene can also be found in the UK, Europe, the U.S., Asia and the Caribbean. : https://www.fyimusicnews.ca/articles/2018/11/23/alex-henry-foster-breaks-big-solo-debut

About the top charts for “Windows in the Sky”/ Alex Henry Foster:
- iTunes:
His album has been charting at the top on the iTunes Charts in Canada, as shown here: http://www.itunescharts.net/can/artists/music/alex-henry-foster/albums/windows-in-the-sky
- Billboard:
Week of Nov 24, 2018: N.6 (1st week on charts): https://www.billboard.com/charts/canadian-albums/2018-11-24
Week of Dec 1, 2018: N.39 (2 weeks on charts): https://www.billboard.com/charts/canadian-albums/2018-12-01
Week of December 8, 2018: N.60 (3 weeks on the charts): https://www.billboard.com/charts/canadian-albums/2018-12-08
- ADISQ:
The album has been at the top of the “English” ADISQ charts as well: https://palmaresadisq.ca/en/top-sales/
As for SoundScan, I don’t think it’s something public. I looked for it everywhere but couldn’t find sources, but it’s been stated in major news outlets, so we can rely on those references.
About his social involvement/band:
Also, how I see it for Foster and his band, as he’s been the lead singer, frontman, lyricist of Your Favorite Enemies from 2006 up til now as he’s launching his solo career, it’s kind of normal for him to have accomplished most of the things with his band, no?
And in the article I built, there aren’t much places talking about the band itself except for the nomination part? But he’s the lyricist of this album/lead singer. Ain’t it normal that the nomination stays there?
Also, as for his social involvement, some of the campaigns might have been launched through collaborations with his band, but as you can see on his Amnesty International profile, he’s been spokesperson of the organization for years, and he’s been fronting pretty much all of the initiatives launched through his “Rock N Rights” non-profit: https://www.amnistie.ca/simpliquer/personnalite/alexandre-foster-your-favorite-enemies
The article’s in French as Foster is a French-Canadian but Google Translate should be of a good help to translate this text.
And most of the interviews he’s done about his fight against racism and gangs is more direct to him, as he’s the one who’s been in those gangs. Just like the interview he did on “Medium Large” (CBC Radio - biggest Canadian broadcast) and “Tout le monde en parle” (major TV show broadcasted across Canada through CBC TV), he’s been talking about his personal story. You can watch the interview with English subtitles here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pI6N-SFCFEk
As for his upbringing and personal story, it’s been pretty much covered in the “Sélection / Reader's Digest” article: https://www.selection.ca/reportages/your-favorite-enemies-epopee-rock/
I didn’t find the article in English but Google Translate, should once again be helpful to help you read this interview held with Foster himself, talking about his upbringing, personal story in the gangs, etc.
Let me know what you think, but I believe the edits that should be done, if some were needed after seeing this, would be quite minor. For sure, I must add all the new articles/charts highlighting his solo album’s achievements.
Thank you for your time and your help!
Mme Gogo (talk) 18:24, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- Mme Gogo, that looks great! Please add those sources into the article. The "5 things" is the same agency article propagated across the different newspapers and should just be counted as a single source, so only post a single version of this and not the duplicated versions. You should list Billboard Canadian Albums charting at number 6 as well as the charting sources along with the other cover stories you mentioned. This is more important than any iTunes / Soundscan charts and should enable him to pass WP:MUSICBIO. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:33, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- Mme Gogo, trim out the band related awards. Those belong on the band's page, but if he has awards and nominations for his solo work, then add those instead. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:36, 5 December 2018 (UTC)

You stated that there are not enough reliable sources. As a result, I added more external sources (totaling over 80 now). However, you also stated that sources need to be minimized with "authoring of own articles". Only a few of the articles are peer-reviewed articles written by Dr. Stanford: References 40-46. The other articles are written by other authors. Please help. It appears as though this article could be ready for publishing if informed about which articles should be excluded and what still needs to be added to the 84 references — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sebdubois77 (talk • contribs) 18:18, 31 December 2018 (UTC) Sebdubois77 (talk) 18:29, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

- Sebdubois77, the other main concern is the tone. The article still refers to her as Dr. Stanford. As I wrote before, unless she is mainly known by that moniker like Dr. Phil or Dr. Ruth, she doesn't need to be listed as Dr. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:51, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for your feedback. I have already made changes from "Dr. Stanford" to "Stanford" as requested. I will go and reduce the number of references to support the "WP:Overcite" as requested. Thanks again Sebdubois77 (talk) 02:06, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for your guidance. I have resubmitted with the changes requested regarding tone and citations. Happy New Year to you and thanks. Sebdubois77 (talk) 03:18, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- Sebdubois77, the news articles about the incident and the references for the magazine writeups can be combined as well. It doesn't need a laundry list of "This incident was covered in (newspaper1....10)" Just pick the most informative coverage of these. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:21, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for details re: the incident and references. I will make those changes now. Thanks for getting back to me. Sebdubois77 (talk) 22:07, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Hi there! I'd love more details about why my article was rejected. The comment left was "No inherent notability for being a branch of HuffPost." HuffPost Canada (the subject of the article in question) is an award-winning website that has published thousands of articles and employs dozens of journalists. Please let me know if there's more information that needs to be added to the draft in order to have it deemed viable.
Rebzam (talk) 19:09, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Rebzam, there isn't anything that indicates that it should be its own separate article from HuffPost. Most organizations with branch offices don't have separate articles. There isn't a Google Canada or Yahoo! Canada AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:15, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick reply. HuffPost Canada isn't a branch office of HuffPost, but a separate, Canadian edition, the way that Vogue India (for example) is a separate edition from Vogue. Is there a better way to indicate that in the draft?
Rebzam (talk) 19:24, 2 January 2019 (UTC) Rebecca
- It's hard to say since they are still connected to the main website. The other international editions don't have a separate article other than Arabi which appears to have been closed. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:32, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
HuffPost Québec does (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/HuffPost_Qu%C3%A9bec), and the other editions are interested in doing so as well (I'm just the first to submit). We have a separate URL from the main website (.ca vs. .com), publish our own articles and videos and have a fully distinct staff. We would really appreciate having a separate article that allows us to expand our presence, so please let me know if there's a way to appeal this.
Rebzam (talk) 19:45, 2 January 2019 (UTC) Rebecca
- There probably needs a discussion on the HuffPost talk page on whether editions of the website are independently notable. With Vogue, the print magazines are distinct, but I am not sure whether websites are going to have that same level of notability per WP:BRANCH. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:13, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks very much, I'll investigate how to do that.

Draft Article Revised
Hi AngusWOOF You left me some feedback on an article I was creating for an Australian actor Alex Rathgeber. You rejected the article as it didnt have enough content or referencing to vallidate him being worthy of a Wiki page and enough reference validation. I apologise for the error. I am a new editor and I saw that the time to 'accept' and review a new article/page said up to 5 weeks so i thought I would input some of the info I had collated on Alex rathgeber and then publish so it would get into the queue for approval. I planned to go back and finish filling it all out with much more info and references - and obviously wrongly - assumed Id get to that before it was even looked at for approval. I have gone back and re edited the article and added in way more information and heaps more references. I do believe Alex rathgeber is eligible for a wiki page. He has won a national theatre award in Australia, headlined upwards of 10 professional mainstage productions and performed a lead role in the West End, as well as appeared on two world premiere cast recordings and his own album. I have re-submitted the page/article now that I have added more info. I was wondering if you were able to take a look at it and let me know if you think it needs anything else - or what else I may need to add - to get his page accepted. I am also wondering if you have any info on how to obtain a photo for the artist? I know there are strict copyright rules. Thank you so much again for your help. Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers Tim T E Mclean (talk) 06:00, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Tim, if you can find some more news articles that discuss Rathgeber's career, that would give him more notability. You need ones that focus mostly on Rathgeber himself, not ones where he is passively mentioned among the cast. In the comments, please highlight those articles. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:17, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi Angus, Apologies - which comments section? DO you meant paste some articles here in response to this talk? Or is there a comments page I am overlooking on the Draft for Alex? Cheers T E Mclean (talk) 07:49, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for the editing suggestion
Thank you for pointing out chronological order issue at Studio Drift draft. It is not critical for the 2 sections out of 3 since they have a sortable table format, but I fixed it everywhere anyway. Happy New Year! --Bbarmadillo (talk) 16:28, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

Hi Angus Thanks for the comments. I have now made changes to the article and connected the references to the piece. Let me know if this is ok? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Assistantpage020 (talk • contribs) 22:33, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Assistantpage020, I've pushed it forward. You can keep on working on it so that it gives a biographical narrative on how he became famous. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:17, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks Angus, will this now appear in google search engines as its own Wiki page or do I need to develop the article further for this to happen?
- Assistantpage020, it's a regular Wikipedia article. Whether it gets picked up by Google search or whether, who knows, I suppose it should? That's up to Google. But keep working on it, and add more useful content, and sometimes down the line the subject might even mention the article in a Twitter or something. Request on 21:54:28, 3 January 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Michael E Nolan
Hi. You recently rejected my article, "List of people from Morelos." Fair enough. I didn't even know there was a category for "people from" and have added it to the articles about "Morelos" and "Cuernavaca."
My first question is about the word "from." Does this mean "born in," and if so, why? Often times people are born in a particular place, but most of their lives and/or their most important achievements occur elsewhere. Three cases in point: The state of Morelos is named for Jose Maria Morelos because he won a key battle at the city of Cuautla during the Mexican independence movement. Yet he isn't mentioned in the "Morelos" page, and there is no list of "people from Cuautla." The second example is that the current governor of Morelos and past mayor of Cuernavaca isn't listed in either list. The third case is that a past president has lived in Cuernavaca since his retirement 40 years ago. None of these men were born in Morelos state, yet I think they are notable.
My second question is about adding people and/or localities to the list. Can I do this directly by going to the lists? Or will a 'bot' do it? Again, I don't know if people like General Morelos or President Echevarria belong on the "Morelos" list, but I believe Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco does. He was an international soccer star before he became a politician but did not live in the state at the time. Should he go in the "athletes" category? What about an actress like Maria Felix? Or artist Diego Rivera, who lived in Cuernavaca for several years and made important contributions to the state?
Thanks for your help.Michael E Nolan (talk) 21:54, 3 January 2019 (UTC)MichaelENolan
Michael E Nolan (talk) 21:54, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- Michael E Nolan, the list is okay, but should be organized better. As it covers the entire Mexican state, it should either be sorted as an alphabetical order list or by sorted by general categories instead of regions. Regarding your questions: 1) "from" typically covers notable residents whether born there or staying there, so yes, if a political leader retired there, you can add them to the list. If the list was intended to be only people born in state, then that's a different scope of the article. Regarding adding people to the list, are you talking about the draft list or the categories? If it's the categories, you can add the particular category to the individual's article. Hope that helps! AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:11, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Submission at Articles for creation: Camp Glenorchy - Rejected
Hi AngusWOOF, I see that you declined my article about Camp Glenorchy. Would you be able to explain to me why? AfC: N. Asokan
Hello, thank you for taking the time to review Draft: N. Asokan.
Firstly, regarding the comment about the subject's first name: this is indeed known[1], but is a patronymic. I thought it would therefore be preferable to use the form "N. Asokan" for two reasons: 1) It is the form of the name he uses on all published academic papers[2]; and 2) he specifies on his personal website "In situations where you would normally use the firstname-lastname form (e.g., in semi-formal or formal written text), you can use "N. Asokan"". I have added the reference to his website just after his name to explain this, but please let me know if you have other suggestions for how to handle this.
Secondly, regarding notability: I believe criterion 3 of WP:NACADEMIC ("a fellow of a major scholarly society which reserves fellow status as a highly selective honor (e.g., Fellow of the IEEE)") applies in this case, since the subject is in fact a Fellow of the IEEE (citation 14) and also a fellow of the ACM (citation 12).

- Ajpaverd, that's fine; the article can still be titled N. Asokan as common name. It should mention his given name with that reference though. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:07, 6 January 2019 (UTC)

Enterprice page
Hi AngusWOOF - just wanted to say thanks for reviewing and publishing the page I created for this new TV series. I realise this has been given a 'stub' status, but I'll be fleshing the page out with more info over the next few weeks and months, including episode information and more. The aim is to hopefully end up with something similar to https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Atlanta_(TV_series). In the meantime, I'll do some research to work out how to get it to that stage!

- Polar115, it doesn't explain when the theory was developed and publicized, or how it was received by the scientific community. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:16, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
It does explain it now after Special Conditions is added. It explains exactly how a tunnel is developed. And Has survived peer review. There's nothing promotional going on here as it is what it is - simply giving the phenomenon a name
There's quite a few extra articles on the tunnel due for publication this month which will be added. But we can't exclude a physical phenomenon once its been discovered and published - I just need to thicken up direct references over time. However does it not meet wiki's criteria as the subject is published?
Celalettin-Field Quantum Observation Tunnel
Hey Angus
Professor Liesl Folks, Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Buffalo (added links) was the first to receive it and as the global leader in quantum computing stated that it would destroy quantum computers.

Draft: Bokashi
Thank you for dealing with this draft. I only have one doubt about what's been done, and that is the dab (gardening). I heartily agree with avoiding (composting) but think (gardening) limits the interested audience. As you can see from the Uses section, it has wider applications, and I'm about to add a brief note on another one to do with sanitation. For now I'd be happier with (gardening and horticulture). I can edit everything else but I'm too inexperienced to know how to do this.

Re:Draft:Solarization
Thanks for reviewing Draft:Solarization and suggested some things to do! FYI, on the talk page I proposed to split the already some 9 years ago and appart from a notice in 2017 that the confusion still exists, I haven't gotten any opposition to the split. I'll wait another 2 weeks before making the split. Again thanks for your time and suggestions. Photojack50 (talk|contribs) 16:14, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
- Photojack50, if you need to create Sabattier effect (no hyphen) and split off content, that would be fine. I think Solarization and Solarisation should go to the disambiguation page as there is no primary topic. Solarization (photography) can be created. Since Solarization (photography) and Sabattier effect are still related they can have some discussion of this in background or legacy sections of each article. Please make sure the split articles meet WP:GNG (significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources independent of the subject). AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:23, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks again! I will used your suggestions and your advice. Photojack50 (talk|contribs) 16:32, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
- Photojack50, I've gone ahead and split the article. However, it should be clarified how they are different as it appears one (overexposure) naturally leads to the other (Sabattier effect, reversal of tones). I also removed the sentence about telling people not to mix the terms. It is not up to us to determine that, but to report that the terms are often interchangeable. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:46, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks !!! Solarization is caused by severe overexposure (normally in a camera). Pseudo-solarization or Sabattier effect is in the darkroom achieved (or inadvertently by mistake) by a mostly a short, non-imaging exposure during the development of the image . These effects are not related although there are cases in which the visual results are similar. Photojack50 (talk|contribs) 18:07, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
- Photojack50, also noting that I'm using the z spelling (American) over the s spelling (British), since the camera/photography research was done mainly in America. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:56, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
- Photojack50, can you find sources other than "answers.com", that one isn't reliable as it's just a random person/expert answering the question. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 18:10, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

Greenhaven, Ga and Neighbors Against Greenhaven being removed from the page
- You made a suggestion to add content for Neighbors Against Greenhaven to Greenhaven, GA, however, that content keeps being removed. New to Wiki and can you offer suggestions to the below. Please forgive and advise if going about this the wrong way
- Unclear as to why the content from Neighbors of Greenhaven is being removed from Greenhaven, Ga. It has verifiable sources in that it has been mentioned in not only local media such as AJC.com (the main metro paper), Decaturish (a local site covering Decatur, which is a city in the proposed Greenhaven) and in a national media outlet, CityLab, as well.
- There is huge opposition to this which is why it has not been adopted into law and this all relates to the article. can you offer specific suggestions on why it keeps being removed and perhaps what can be removed to allow it? It doesn't appear that the content violates any rules.
- the website address for Neighbors Against Greenhaven continues to be removed and yet Greenhaven's website is clearly a website about advocating for Greenhaven.

- TravelinFool, please see the talk page for Greenhaven as to why it was continuing to be removed. It doesn't need an article section that is as big or bigger than the proposal. The other editors are amenable to a short paragraph section summarizing opposition. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:04, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF per your suggestion content added to Greenhaven, ga. no new page set up. Content has been edited down and continues to be removed. Greenhaven website is for the pro Greenhaven side. Neighbors Against Greenhaven is the opposition and it's website is for the side against. Discuss on talk page before re-adding controversial material was reason for removal of all Neighbors Against Greenhaven content however nothing on Talk page as to what is considered controversial.
- Please note that Wikipedia is not a battleground and it's not about who wins or loses in proposals. It should describe neutrally what is going on with the town proposal and give appropriate weight to the opposition. You should talk with the editors involved on that talk page on what is an appropriate section size for that. My point is that it doesn't need a completely separate draft article on the proposal. Draft of NL5 Circuit Simulator
Dear AngusWOOF, Thank you for reviewing draft of NL5 Circuit Simulator so quick. I am working on suggestions. However, I am a little bit confused: I looked at wiki pages of similar software packages (PLECS, PSIM), and in my opinion they are missing almost everything you are suggesting to me. Unfortunately I cannot review all their references, since the articles they refer to are not freely available. However, just looking at authors of some references, you can see that these are "materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed", which is not allowed. Did I misunderstand something in your suggestions? Best regards, Alexei. A smi sim (talk) 22:39, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- Alexei, the main thing is to provide secondary sources independent of the subject so that the subject meets notability. WP:GNG Some primary material (from program or website) is allowed, but it shouldn't be mostly that. PSIM seems to reference a lot of independent papers that show extensive use by researchers. References are not required to be freely available, but it helps if there's a reference that has maybe a freely-available abstract to read or sample that the reader knows the reference is going to go into depth on the subject matter. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 01:35, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, AngusWOOF, I understand your point, will do my best. Just to note, since your used PSIM as an example, out of 12 PSIM references 6 are not available online, 3 are Powersim company website, 1 has a simple link to PSIM [6] (I can provide tens of those), one is broken [8], and only one [9] is a real good one. Thank you, Alexei.A smi sim (talk) 02:12, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
Submitting new revision. Still, I don't have comparison with other simulators, just because nobody (except myself) ever did it, and not likely anybody would do it in the nearest future. It's a "personal" tool, and users who are happy with it do not care much about sharing information. If it is still necessary, will think what else could be done. I was wondering if you could offer advice on style and if there are any guidelines on what makes a site appear unreliable. All of my links were external sources. Any help you can offer would be great, thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RimaPOD2018 (talk • contribs) 09:43, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
- RimaPOD2018, for the style, it shouldn't have bullet lists of mission statement verbiage. That makes it look like a copy of the website. As for sources, it needs ones that are not just from the immediate event (Oxford, All Events, own website). You need ones independent of the subject, like other newspapers that wouldn't normally cover it but because Jude Law was there, they would cover it. As for what's reliable, there's reliable sources WP:RS and general notability guide WP:GNG and not advertising WP:NOTADVERTISING AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:12, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF, thank you very much. That is really helpful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RimaPOD2018 (talk • contribs)
Mel Heifetz article.
Dear AngusWOOF,
Re: the Mel Heifetz article (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Mel_Heifetz). You declined the article, understandably, when there was only one sentence written.
Now, Heifetz's activism and life story have been detailed and cited with articles from the Philadelphia Inquirer, TheHill.com, and other sources.
Please kindly re-review the article. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EditingandWriting (talk • contribs) 17:06, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
- EditingandWriting, can you rewrite the article so it is more of a biography? It should go into his early life, then his career and advocacy, then a section on the awards and recognition. There should also be years as to when he did certain activities. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 03:24, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- EditingandWriting, also there doesn't need to be one sentence per paragraph. If there's not much to say about him, just combine it to a single paragraph or two for now. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 03:25, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
Dear AngusWOOF, : AngusWOOF,
Thank you for all of your help and guidance. I have incorporated all of your feedback and I'm confident that the Mel Heifetz article (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Mel_Heifetz) deserves a re-review. Thank you very much.

RugGear rejection
Hi there,
Thanks for the comments on RugGear draft page - I was wondering if you could be more specific on which bits have an advertising slant? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.110.214.13 (talk) 20:36, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- 31.110.214.13, any of the corporate buzzword verbiage that promotes the company should be rewritten. For example: "The company has leveraged this previous industry experience to design and manufacture its own range of Rugged devices." What does this mean in layperson's terms? Also "has expanded its geographical footprint" Why not rewrite "has expanded operations". Also see WP:PEACOCK, WP:SOLUTION, and WP:NPOV. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:43, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
List of films with high frame rates
Hi AngusWOOF. Your rejection of my submission Draft:List of films with high frame rates includes this statement: "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources." My impression of your review is that you saw an article created by an IP editor, with a link to a YouTube video and to an article at Forbes, and that this made you think the article is not properly sourced. I suggest you give the article another look. You will see not only references to Variety, TechRadar, The Hollywood Reporter (4x), Deadline Hollywood (2x), and the National Film Board of Canada; you will also see that the YouTube video, used for the claim in the lead, is a TWiT Netcast Network interview with TV historian Mark Schubin. (An informational video, by the way. Check it out.) The § Films section even includes this comment: "<!-- Please ONLY include entries with reliable sources (in the Ref. column). -->" That is how important inline citations are to me; I take pride in always using them. As for notability, see the discussion here. --77.173.90.33 (talk) 21:27, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- 77.173.90.33, are any of those citations showing that a list is being made of all HFR fillms? Those only cite that a particular film is verified to be HFR and will justify that it can be on the list, but what I'm looking for is whether lists of HFR films are being put together by news articles or film websites that aren't IMDb user-generated. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:14, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- It appears that your reasoning is: notability not established -> information not available -> information cannot be verified. I believe you're mistaken, and you should have used just "nn" (reason2) and not "v". The latter creates a block
which is about verifying information. There's a reason it points to WP:REFB and WP:CS. This does not apply to my submission. With "nn" it already requests "additional references" to establish "significant coverage" and notability. --77.173.90.33 (talk) 22:52, 16 January 2019 (UTC)This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Declined article about Ariadne Getty Foundation
Hello Angus. I am writing concerning the recently submitted and declined article about the Ariadne Getty Foundation. I'm wondering if you can further illuminate why the article "does not have sufficient content to require an article of its own" and/or doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability standards. The article, while concise, is not extraordinarily short and it describes the major milestones of its subject. It includes citations to a number of major independent media organizations, including the San Francisco Chronicle and the New York Times As for notability, the foundation has been in continual operation for 14 years and most recently awarded a $15 million grant to a prominent non-profit civil rights organization. So my question is, why is this subject not notable and what needs to be done to make the article worthy of a place on Wikipedia? Thank you. About the decline of the page for Vader Episode I: Shards of the Past
What should I remove or add from this article? (I’m new to making Wikipedia articles by the way, so that’s probably why I failed enough for the page to get declined.)
- Stinkyjaden (talk) 22:41, 16 January 2019 (UTC)Stinkyjaden
- Stinkyjaden, you need some film reviews and coverage from major news sources independent of the production. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:43, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- OK! Thanks for telling me. I’ll get right on that!

- OK! Thanks for telling me. I’ll get right on that!
- Stinkyjaden, has the film been entered into film festivals? Has it won any major awards? That it is released on YouTube isn't anything special as there are millions of people who post to YouTube. Please read WP:NFILM for more criteria that would show the film is notable. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:50, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- It didn’t get to any film festivals I believe, or win any awards (not yet anyways). It has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from internet media outlets though (Gizmodo, GeekTyrant, Cinema Blend, etc.). Is that enough for Vader Ep. I to warrant it’s own page?
- - Stinkyjaden (talk), 16 January 2019 (UTC)Stinkyjaden
- Are those notable film reviewers? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:03, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Only one of those sources is notable. ―Susmuffin Talk 23:11, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- I wouldn’t call them Roger Ebert or Gene Shalit. I do have something else to add. Star Wars Theory, the guy who created the short, says he’s been invited to various conventions and comic-cons (which I’m assuming involves Vader Episode I). YouTube Link to the video. He says it near the end at time stamp 1:57. I don’t think that’ll be good enough though, so I’ll try to keep digging up more things.

- This at Nerdist Industries might also be notable. --77.173.90.33 (talk) 23:31, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- And this at Comic Book Resources, perhaps? --77.173.90.33 (talk) 23:42, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
Asking whether they are notable is presumably a rhetorical question. Banned sockpuppeteer. See my comments. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:04, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for your edits on the Volusion page!
AngusWOOF: Thanks for your edits on the Volusion page! (I actually hadn't even meant to submit it for review, I was trying to save it as a user page.) I'll work on improving the source material and will submit for another view when/if it's ready. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Silvervox325 (talk • contribs) 19:04, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi Silvervox325, regarding the paid subscription news articles, you can add subscription=y in the citation to indicate that the article is behind a paywall. Per WP:PAYWALL, those are still acceptable as references. If part of the paid material such as the title of the article or an opening summary/paragraph is accessible, you can add the link to it and that would help tell the editor whether it's going to have significant coverage of the company. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:14, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
Aloha! New user here, I was instructed to move draft page into main space by user. I need more additional info from you on this. Also Kalani Pe'a first line edits - what does peacock stuff mean? Kalani has many links if that is something needed for this. I think your edit is ok the only thing is the draft page. You flagged the page for someone to move and merge pages but don't leave any additional info. Can you also send the instrutions or tag a admin that you have worked with prior? I appreciate your help! Allanbcool (talk) 01:33, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Allanbcool, the histmerge is for one of the admins to implement, so you don't need to worry about that. It's because the draft copy was worked on and then you copied it directly to the mainspace without letting it go through the AFC review, so it is merely trying to get to combine the edit histories of the draft and the current version into one page. As for peacock stuff, the article's lead was opening with "award-winning" verbiage so I was trying to remove that, to keep the tone neutral. See WP:PEACOCK AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 02:23, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
Yes, if you check my talk page I was asking around then was instructed to do the copy and paste. Then I found out about the AFC move after. By then it was too late the page was already copied into the main space. What do I do now to erase the Draft:Kalani Pe'a page? The opening line is ok thanks for doing that edit. Allanbcool (talk) 07:41, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- The history merge has been performed HERE so all the edits are now on the main page. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:15, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Allanbcool, is there a way you can rewrite the career section? You can walk through his albums and singles and then whatever tours and major concerts he performed during those years. It doesn't need extensive discussion on what the Hawaii Bowl is. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 02:46, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Draft: Template CoS Song of the Year
Hello,
I've noticed that you've declined my template and explained the reasons (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Template:ConsequenceOfSoundSong). I think I might have made a confusion with it's title. Actually, it was supposed to be ConsequenceOfSound's Single of the Year, like we have for Pitchfork and Rolling Stone. This is a critic poll award like these other publications have (see here: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Template:PitchforkSong).
Can I fix this, or should I submit a new template?
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jimoincolor (talk • contribs) 17:00, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Ariadne Getty Foundation article
Hello Angus. I am writing respectfully (again) concerning the recently submitted and declined article about the Ariadne Getty Foundation. Thank you.Lena Coleman (talk) 21:47, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
- Please highlight which articles meet WP:GNG and WP:ORGCRIT. A lot of the articles mention Getty herself and the foundation in passing. You can also resubmit the article, maybe another editor will see things differently. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 21:57, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
- Lena Coleman, it's not that it's not notable. It's more whether it has notability independent from Getty herself. As it stands, it would be better as a section within Getty's article to explain the foundation. See Arthur Ashe where his Foundation is part of the main article. If she's highly active in the Foundation, then she's not really independent of it. If it's running itself and has other decisions independent of Getty's input, it's more likely to be separate. The news articles provided so far have her heavily involved. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:40, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

- See WP:BIO, WP:FILMMAKER and WP:GNG. You need to show that your producer is notable by providing secondary sources such as news articles. Also, does not need a filmography table of yes/no's unless he has had a diverse set of roles within production. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:48, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

Answer to comments: S-7000.A Real Property Tax Law in New York State
Hi AngusWOOF,
> Comment: Is this supported to cover S7000 or S7000A or both? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:50, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
There is only S.7000-A. I'm not sure what you are referring to in your question. That is the name that given to the set of property tax laws that affect the majority of people in New York State
> Comment: This is missing the general context of why Wikipedia should care about a specific state's property tax law. Compare to Prop 13 and how that has had impact that has been analyzed nationally. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:48, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
I will add more about the connection to Proposition 13. There is a national connection which is shown in articles such as https://www.nytimes.com/1978/07/09/archives/long-island-opinion-proposition-13s-alternatives.html
Can you help me understand how to improve this article? This article is only the facts and it shows exactly why each individual property is taxed the way it is. This is a big question here because there is wild variation between like properties. This is probably true in other locations/states/nations. This is one of the reasons that it is important for wikipedia. It would help people to understand the tax law with real history and reasons all in one place.
Also I am reading the article about Proposition 13 see https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/1978_California_Proposition_13
It seems to have a lot of guessing, is that what I should add to this article to make it more notable/useful. I was trying to stick to only the facts.
For example see the quotes text below from the background section:
- There are several accounts of the origins of Proposition 13. The evidence for or against these accounts varies.
- One explanation is that older Californians with fixed incomes had increasing difficulty paying property taxes, which were rising as a result of California's population growth, increasing housing demand, and inflation. Due to severe inflation during the 1970s, reassessments of residential property increased property taxes so much, that some retired people could no longer afford to remain in homes they had purchased long before. An academic study found support for this explanation, reporting that older voters, homeowners, and voters expecting a tax increase were more likely to vote for Proposition 13.[9]
- Another popular explanation is Proposition 13 drew its impetus from the 1971 and 1976 California Supreme Court rulings in Serrano v. Priest, which somewhat equalized California school funding by redistributing local property taxes from wealthy to poor school districts. According to this explanation, property owners in affluent districts perceived that the taxes they paid were no longer benefiting their local schools, and chose to cap their taxes.
- A basic problem with this explanation is that the Serrano decision and school finance equalization were actually quite popular among California voters.[9] It is true that Californians who voted for Proposition 13 were less likely than other voters to support school finance, but Proposition 13 supporters were not more likely to oppose the Serrano decision, and on average they were typically supportive of both the Serrano decision and of school finance equalization.[9]
- Another explanation that has been offered is that spending by California's government had increased dramatically during the years prior to 1978, and taxpayers sought to limit further growth. The evidence supporting this explanation is limited, as there have been no studies relating Californians' views on the size and role of government to their views on Proposition 13. However, it is true that California's government had grown. Between 1973 and 1977, California state and local government expenditures per $1000 of personal income were 8.2 percent higher than the national norm. From 1949 to 1979, public sector employment in California outstripped employment growth in the private sector. By 1978, 14.7 percent of California's civilian work force were state and local government employees, almost double the proportion of the early 1950s.[10]
- In addition, during the early 1960s, there were several scandals in California involving county assessors.[10][11] These assessors were found rewarding friends and allies with artificially low assessments, with tax bills to match. These scandals led to the passage of AB 80 in 1966, which imposed standards to hold assessments to market value.[12] The return to market value in the wake of AB 80 could easily represent a mid-double-digit percentage increase in assessment for many homeowners. As a result, a large number of California homeowners experienced an immediate and drastic rise in valuation, simultaneous with rising tax rates on that assessed value, only to be told that the taxed monies would be redistributed to distant communities. The ensuing anger started to form into a backlash against property taxes which coalesced around Howard Jarvis, a former newspaperman and appliance manufacturer, turned taxpayer activist in retirement.
Ryozzo (talk) 21:28, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
- Ryozzo, the point is whether a specific New York State Property Tax Law is that Wikipedia-notable. There are thousands of laws, but which have impact that someone in an encyclopedia would care about? It's not supposed to be a site map of New York State Laws. I brought up Prop 13 because that one has a lot of national attention and coverage. Does S7000A have something similar? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 21:49, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you AngusWOOF, but S.7000-A is part of that same movement during the period of high inflation of the 1970's. There are many New York Times articles about S.7000-A and many are cited in the article. It also was a movement that was organized by civic organizations here in Queens and Brooklyn. Are the New York Times articles not enough? Should I merge this into a larger topic? Should I simply abandon it? Let me know, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for your reply.
Ryozzo (talk) 21:58, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
- Ryozzo, you don't need a huge background section if it isn't backed up by news articles. It can always be expanded upon later if there is useful background information. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:23, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
Current History: S-7000.A Real Property Tax Law in New York State
Hi AngusWOOF,
In addition, there are current history references that document the New York City Council members attempting the sue New York City.
Is this more useful information? Should I add more like this?
See
- Litigation[edit]
- A property tax lawsuit was filed in April 25, 2017 against New York City and New York State by Tax Equity Now New York, a group that includes Jonathan Lippman, the law firm of Latham and Watkins representing homeowners, renters, real estate developers, the N.A.A.C.P., the Citizens Budget Commission and others[20].[21]
- On Sept. 29, 2017 a group of New York City council members filed an amicus curiae brief in support of the Tax Equity Now New York lawsuit and the New York City Mayor argued that the tax case be dismissed — and that the members’ brief should not even be considered by the court.[22] On February 7, 2018 A Manhattan state Supreme Court justice ruled that five Council members, including two from Queens, cannot use a private attorney to file an amicus curiae brief backing the Tax Equity Now New York lawsuit challenging the city’s property tax system. Justice Gerald Lebovits said in a four-page decision that the members must use the city’s corporation counsel, who has already said he will not represent them, when acting in their official capacity.[23]
Ryozzo (talk) 21:50, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
- Ryozzo the tables of tax rates are excessive detail. You need to summarize the law's components. What are the major aspects of it? You don't need to rewrite the entire law text. There should be a Background and Proposal sections on how it was put together. What Senate or House bill was proposed, and by whom and when? When was the A version passed? What was the property tax law before. Then there should be a Reception section on how it was rolled out, and the reaction by the public. Then a section for amendments and a Legacy for pop culture references and other stuff. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:00, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
- See also Prop 8 and the major sections involved there. Those are mainly to give you an idea how to structure the law part and the reactions as those are highly notable and controversial propositions/laws. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:02, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks and will do. Ryozzo (talk) 22:20, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
