King Monada Move

Dear AngusWoof, i am letting you know that i am moving the page Steven Khutso Kgatla into main space. An editor created it but did a terrible job. I then improved it and after doing so, I found there was two drafts of it already which I then nominated for deletion. User:RHaworth then directed my mainspace created version back to draft because of the other versions though there was no edit summary in his move. Also I see in your decline, you stated that there is another draft version as a reasons for the decline. The subject is a highly notable South African singer. I will thus clean it up and move it as well as nominate the other draft for deletion as it looks like some potent badly done article to me. Thank you Loved150 (talk) 05:34, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

Loved150, yes, please clean them up. I think there are enough notable web sites to keep the person in the main area and not have to move it back to drafts. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:28, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

Quick question regarding sources

Hello. I have a quick question with regards to the biographies of any actor/actress in general. On the Ancestry.com website, they have information regarding the birth, marriage and death records. Newspaper archives also have information regarding wedding announcements, etc. With respect to the WP:BLP policy, do the records themselves or newspaper archives count as reliable sources? Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 19:23, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

I would cite the actual newspapers themselves and use it as a primary source concerning announcements unless it's secondary coverage of the event. Ancestry.com is not reliable as it is user-generated: WP:RSP AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:26, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
I see. Since Ancestry.com isn't a reliable source, would the index records themselves (i.e. Texas, Birth Index; they're published by the Department of Health Services) count as primary sources for birthdates? Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 21:40, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
They're kind of in the WP:DOB privacy realm. See again the RSP article about the detail. If the person tweets "check out my birth certificate at ancestry.com" and gives a link, then it's probably not privacy. I know the California Birth Index is a no-go. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:42, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
Of course, in some cases like the Monica Rial and Mike Pollock articles, the subjects can often confirm their age on the article's talk page or over on Twitter. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 23:11, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

My movie is real.

My movie is a real movie. I made it, it is a genuine 2-hour movie with a trailer and credits. I am not putting it on Wikipedia for personal gain- only to make Wikipedia more complete. However, the film is for sale on DVD and if you would enjoy considering it more of a "real" movie, you can buy it for $10 a copy. I have not sold any as of yet. This is why I have made it free on YouTube. It is not an insignificant project. It is a legitimate movie. Fraction7 (talk) 21:51, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

Fraction7, it needs to meet notability for films WP:NFILM. Please post news source coverage of the film or reviews from critics. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:52, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
Allow me to ask you- if I am not allowed to make my film public, how will any critic know my film is public? This is preposterous. It is circular reasoning, Sir- an infinite loop. Fraction7 (talk) 21:57, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
You can't use Wikipedia to promote your film. Wikipedia is for AFTER your film has been considered to be notable. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:59, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
You may find this link useful.Susmuffin Talk
(edit conflict) It never will be considered notable unless it has a Wikipedia article. I do not wish to promote it, only to keep Wikipedia accurate and complete. Since Wikipedia does not have an article on my movie, I have taken it upon myself to produce that article. As you can see, it is a real movie. It is not a hoax. My website and the movie itself are the most reliable sources I can provide. You have an article for NOTDOT on here. It was made by a relative nobody, James Riffel, on a low budget and it consists of nothing more than Night Of The Living Dead with a riff track. It was released to only 500 stores. I bet nobody knows it exists. Why can't my movie be on here? It is a movie. Again, here it is. I suggest you watch it all the way through. Fraction7 (talk) 22:08, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
My article is not a conflict of interest. It is my movie, but I have written it in a third-person, unbiased format. You are free to make it less biased if you wish. Fraction7 (talk) 22:15, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

Review Eclipse Theia

Hey AngusWoof, thank you for your feedback about my article. I tried to fix the wording and the layout of the article so it doesn't sound like an advertisement anymore. Draft:Carl Jack Miller - Wikipedia

Hi AngusWOOF, thanks for your note.

I would like to respond to your comment on how Carl Miller meets the notability criteria for creative professionals.

He coined ‘social media intelligence’ or SOCMINT , which is now in wide use by a large number of independent organisations and individuals.

His work has been widely cited by his peers within a significant number of independent and reliable secondary sources. His body of authored or co-authored work has received 652 citations within peer-reviewed journals, and is cited by the House of Lords Select Committee on Political Polling and Digital Media , the House of Commons Home Affairs Committee,https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201617/cmselect/cmhaff/609/60902.htm, The House of Lords Select Committee on European Union , and by Hansard .

He has also been cited in

His published work has received significant coverage in independent and reliable secondary sources over a number of years. This includes interviews in Economist , Impact Magazine , reviews by The Sunday Times , New Scientist , The Register , and The Catholic Herald , and has been published by TheTimes Literary Supplement , The Sunday Times , and The Irish Examiner

It will be great to know if the above reassures you of Carl's credentials, and whether adding the references above to my draft will be sufficient.

Thanks Myafong (talk) 11:23, 21 January 2019 (UTC)Amanda

Myafong, of the ones here, which describe Miller's career in detail? Ones that are not mainly Q&A interviews. There's another article that focuses on the Centre over at Demos (UK think tank) so it appears a lot of the articles you listed are pointing to his work as a representative of that organization. Also according to the Centre, he was a co-founder of that group with two others. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:48, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
Myafong, this is helpful. Please add this to the talk page of the draft and place a note in the comments section to look there for more citations. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:50, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

Michelle Ruff's birth date and age

Why did you delete Me. Ruff's birth date and age like everyone else? Steveman 723 (talk) 01:24, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

I can answer that for you. There's a fundamental policy that everyone must follow with regards to biographies: WP:BLP. You may want to look into that. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 01:28, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

Hi AngusWOOF, thanks for your help. I've updated https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:S7000A_(tax_law) removing details and adding many more dates and history and citations from the NY TIMES etc. and I just would like to see if this is in the right direction. Also, I want to avoid angering anyone by submitting it again. Can you tell me if it is closer to submission ready or not. Thanks. Ryozzo (talk) 05:30, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

Ryozzo, I think it's in the right direction, it's trying to explain it to folks who aren't familiar with tax laws. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:51, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi AngusWOOF, Thanks. I will add more helpful comments for those that are not familiar with tax laws and then I will resubmit. Thanks again. Ryozzo (talk) 16:56, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

I will add to its relevance with regards to the photoelectric effect and how important it is to other quantum theories

About Draft:Union of Journalists of the Philippines - University of the Philippines (UJP-UP)

Hi AngusWoof,

Thank you for your message. I would just like to know if there is a way that I can create a page for Union of Journalists of the Philippines - University of the Philippines (UJP-UP). As you can see, I also wrote the article that you can see in this link: http://iskwiki.upd.edu.ph/index.php/Union_of_Journalists_of_the_Philippines_UP

I wanted to create a wiki page for the said organization and include the logo in the page. Is there a way that I can do that?

Thanks for the help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by GTacadena (talkcontribs) 19:00, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

GTacadena, that depends on whether the school organization is notable. Please see WP:ORGCRIT. Usually university students organizations are not. If Union of Journalists of the Philippines is organized across multiple schools, that might be reconsidered. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:04, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

Responding to concerns about article creation for No Good (Musician)

Hello AngusWOOF! I wanted to address your concerns before resubmitting the article so that there arent any issues and I can make any fixes necessary in one go rather than iterating on it.

You say that the submission appears to read more like an advertisement but I based this article on the pages of many other musicians that are on wikipedia currently. Please see https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Melanie_Faye for instance or https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/John_Mayer . I think you will find that it reads the same and is not an advertisement at all for the musician.

In addition most of the material covered in the submissions reference show complete coverage of what is mentioned in the article as the text in the article is almost directly quoted from the references. I can change the majority of the text used to direct quotes if this helps you.

You state that there is a Potential COI but I do not personally know this musician at all so i'm hoping that that resolves that conflict for you. I have no employer, client, affiliation with respect to this contribution.

I'm unclear of how else to resolve the conflict so if submitting to you on your talk page is not the correct way to do so I apologize but things have changed a lot since the last article I wrote and this was the closes thing I could find aside of making changes to the article and resubmitting.

Theyrenogood (talk) 20:57, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for responding on the draft feedback. I will remove the COI tag; it was closely resembling the actual artist username. As for the article itself, it reads like it was from promotional material about the artist's style and approach on albums and singles. That verbiage should either be quoted and referenced or changed so it is more neutral. It also needs more sources that aren't from the website itself. Are there news articles or magazine reviews that cover the artist? Those should be in there to meet WP:MUSICBIO. Has he charted or won any major awards? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:07, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi again AngusWOOF! I definitly want to address your concerns so I may need some help here. I can throw out some suggested verbiage changes and maybe you can tell me if they are better or worse? I'm not sure if you got the chance to view the articles I liked about other musicians but I tried to follow the same format as https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Melanie_Faye in specific. I really don't feel like I'm being any less neutral when describing this musician then whoever wrote this article for her.

No Good is a smaller musician that I heard of through other twitch streamers so I don't see that he has won any awards when I search for him. I definitely did take the explanations of how he works on his music from his interviews and info sections of his websites and the websites of the labels that have released his songs so I can change these to quotes if that helps? perhaps something more like follows?

Does something more like what is below address your concerns? Am I on the right path here?

No Good (born 1986) is an American musician, music producer, vocalist, DJ, guitarist, mixing engineer, mastering engineer, communications engineer, signal processing engineer, and avid cat owner.[1]. He started professionally releasing music in 2018 and created social media accounts on twitter, Instagram, SoundCloud, and twitch to stay in touch with his fans and share insight into his production work. His music has been described as "juxtapositions that take different key elements from various genres and place them together in a cohesive way. Rather than being radical and drawing your attention, they are meant to be subtle and blend in".[2]

Early life and education

Born and raised in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii he started playing the piano, guitar and constantly writing new songs starting at a young age. As the son of a first chair violinist / classical pianist who’s brothers were Broadway musical singer/actors he has always been involved in music. Over time he has moved from performing and writing traditional band based music to electronica. He has been in music performance scene for over 17 years.[3] He has been part of various jazz bands, a few punk rock bands, had an EDM radio show in Idaho called Harmonic Drive, and was the resident DJ in CJ’s, a large nightclub in Idaho. He did two years of school in music at the University of Hawaii at Hilo before moving to Idaho to get his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering. He then moved to Phoenix Arizona to get his masters and PhD in Electrical Engineering.[1]

Career His debut release under the moncier "No Good" was a song called "H3LP" with Uninvented Records.[2] From the press release:
" Fresh off his one third life crisis, armed with his new approach to his compositions and life, he is excited to kick off his SAD (Song A Day) series with this single. The SAD series came about based on his desire to simplify the song making process, to creatively confine his productions and ideas so that the results were more focused, and to increase his productivity by making a song a day.

...

His SAD songs are subtle juxtapositions that take different key elements from various genres and place them together in a cohesive way. Rather than being radical and drawing your attention, they are meant to be subtle and blend in. Taking H3LP for example, this track was meant to give the feeling of his island roots and reggae to a doo-wop style pop song with future synths. It has been described by critics and record labels as unique and inspiring and as credible 8-bit future bass. Early access listeners called it an achievement and were intrigued to know more about the artist who could conceive of and perform an idea such as this. This single came about based on his desire to simplify the song making process, to creatively confine his productions and ideas so that the results were more focused, and to increase his productivity by making a song a day. H3LP has subtle juxtapositions that take different key elements from various genres and place them together in a cohesive way. Rather than being radical and drawing your attention, they are meant to be subtle and blend in. H3LP was meant to give the feeling of his island roots and reggae to a doo-wop style pop song with future synths. "

His second release was a collaboration with KVIII and was released by Eyes On You Records.[4] This was a deep house song that he did with a fellow member of a music producers discord group that No Good co runs.

His third release was a self-released Contemporary Doo-Wop song done using Horus_Music as a distributor.[5] As described in the information section on soundcloud:

"Darling Angel started out as an throwback doo wop song with lo-fi instruments and mastering to match the music of the 40's. After further thought though, based on the success of the juxtaposition achieved in some of his other works, No Good decided to move the song into a modern format and call it "Contemporary Doo-Wop".

The song is set to be bass heavy on purpose to give the feeling of a mix of reggae and 808's and heartbreak. On top of that there is a very punchy kick to help move the song a long and add some edge to the rhythm. The synthesizers are meant to be very sweet and candy like and take the place of the piano and guitar heard in traditional doo wop era songs that are not purely acapalla. The harmonies of the group are added through a vocoder to keep the song more modern sounding and the sound effects are meant to reminisce of an old soda shoppe.

The track, Darling Angel, is named after the female half of the love story that it tells about a young couple in college."

The quotes need context, like "In an interview with (magazine) concerning the album's music style, he said (quote)" or "(critic's name) of (notable magazine) said '(quote from the review) .. (critic 2) of (magazine 2) said (quote 2). AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:26, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
Also need secondary sources that are not just from that studio. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:32, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
Ok, i can definitely add context to the quotes like you say to. I really appreciate that feedback and help. I'll try and find more sources as well but I would say that quotes and references on other pages I find do not have multiple references for a single piece of information (like multiple references for 1 quote). In addition I quote from his soundcloud so that add a second textual reference to the article. I do not know if I can find more at this point until he does more or is featured more but I have seen articles that do not have very many references in the past so this shouldn't be an issue it seems. Are you saying I should just cut down on the amount of text in there until I can find more references and keep the amount of material from a single reference down? It seems like that really limits the page to be something different than what it should be. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theyrenogood (talkcontribs) 00:42, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
The main thing is to have secondary source references that are not connected to the subject, as that will enable the artist to pass notability. I wouldn't worry about beefing up the text with quotes until after it's become a notable article. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:40, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Knowledge Is Power (2017 Video Game)

Hi Angus,

I've edited the draft article for Knowledge Is Power (2017 video game) in line with your feedback - would you be able to have a look at it, with a view to resubmission, please? I also wondered what Wikipedia's take is on video reviews and their reliability. (YouTube, Twitch etc). With regards to validating aspects of gameplay they appear to be a valuable resource. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Knowledge_is_Power_(2017_video_game) Many thanks Clembathon (talk) 14:24, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

Clembathon, some YouTubers are well known for their video reviews, but if you can find some print/web reviews that are considered reliable from WP:VG/RS that would be better. Also I don't need to be the one to re-review the submission as anyone on AFC can handle that, but I appreciate the notice. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:23, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Dear AngusWOOF, Thank you for your recent review of my article - 'ChartCo'. Could you please just clarify what you mean by the article 'suffering from chemistry'? Charles Tracy

AngusWOOF I misunderstood the function of the Sandbox (software development), believing it was a holding area for article development that had the ability to be reviewed by editors like yourself as you had the time to review; interjecting direction and feedback. More interactive than it is, my bad we will more thoroughly assemble the contents of this article with Number9ine off site. We are still assembling all the data on Tracy. (Number9ine (talk) 18:29, 23 January 2019 (UTC)) Number9ine

Number9ine, you can use the draft space at Draft:Charles Tracy for developing the article. The issue was that it already had been considered submitted for review, which is why the rejection notice was there. It's the right spot for working on the draft though, just that the resubmit or submit action should be reserved for when it's ready for the main space. Davykamanzi, can you identify which sources would enable Wyatt to meet WP:GNG? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:12, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
Davykamanzi, you need to do something about removing the wedding registry and non-reliable websites. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:15, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF First, if I remove the wedding registry, I suppose I'd have to remove the statement on the date of the subject's wedding as there's no other sources giving the date besides social media posts. Second, which of the sources used would you consider "non-reliable"? Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 21:20, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
Davykamanzi, you can replace it with social media tweet or post from his wedding or news sources. See WP:RSP 30 under 30 Forbes is from a contributor, not a staff member. You should use https://www.forbes.com/30-under-30-2015/#/games instead AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:35, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Sppedy removal of proposed article on ARH Dear Wikipedia editor Angus Woof,

with all due respect, I wish to ask for guidance with reference to your decision on the speedy removal of my first Wikipedia article, about a private corporation named ARH. Your judgement was that it qualified as "blatant advertising".

I took the liberty to copy the introductory passage of the proposed article. In my judgement, it contains facts rather than company promotion -- with the exception of the figures that I highlighted, which I could simply omit.

Many corporations -- including giants like https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Apple_Inc., https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Microsoft as well as relatively small enterprises like https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Q-Free or https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Acuant -- have an article on Wikipedia, informing the general public that they exist and have a clearly defined profile.

I was wondering if my proposed article on AHR could qualify as appropriate for Wikipedia -- with major changes and omissions.

Kind regards, Gojko.F.Mitic (talk) 16:24, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Gojko.F.Mitic, any facts that you post should be supported by news sources. Also it shouldn't be structured like it is bragging about its products. "Over 12,000 satisfied partners...on every continent" has advertising bias and needs to be rewritten from outside-of-company perspective. It also shouldn't have all that verbiage about solutions, unless you're talking about mixing chemicals. See WP:SOLUTION That you're keeping the trademark symbol around makes it appear that you're trying to sell the product and company instead of presenting it neutrally. Having bullet lists makes it look like a brochure or a copy of their website. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:41, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

AngusWOOF, Thank you for the prompt reply and feedback. What can you consider trustworthy news sources? ARH is not a public company, but I can insert press references about their projects. I will follow your guidelines. Gojko.F.Mitic (talk) 09:21, 24 January 2019 (UTC)

Draft page for 12 Characters in Search of an Apocalypse

Greetings Angus - thank you for your helpful comments and for continuing to track the progress of the page as I flesh it out. One comment you made was about the play's characters being in normal typeface, not bold, not italic. Looking at A Doll's House I see they, too, use bold. I think it really helps visually (but I did remove the unnecessary italics from my draft, thank you). I will change the DM cover to a photo from one of the performances, thanks for the advice. And I will ensure that any quotes I use are attributed. Thanks again!Jason.e.stewart (talk) 11:28, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Jason.e.stewart, if the character names are in bullet list followed by dashes then that will be good enough to figure out what the character name is. You can also put in the premise that each character is named after a common expression such as "I did the math". See MOS:BOLD, which also covers how to do italics. Also I think the touring list should be condensed into a paragraph or so highlighting like "27 cities across the United States and Canada, including (some super notable venue)". If you have more news articles critiquing the essay and the performances, please add those in a Reception section in order to help it meet notability. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:11, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF, OK. Will do.Jason.e.stewart (talk) 11:55, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
Jason.e.stewart, I'd also remove the quotes that are from "direct communication with Boyd" as that is original research WP:NOR. Whatever Boyd wants to say about his work should be documented with an interview or published on his blog / twitter, or better yet, covered by external news articles. Hello!

I am confused by your refusal of the wikipedia page 'Conviviality' I submitted. My main intention was to translate the french wikipedia disambiguation page about conviviality (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convivialit%C3%A9) as I thought it was worth making accessible to more people than just the french speaking community.

Maybe I created the wrong type of page for a translation? I hope your answer can help me to provide the english wikipedia with a "conviviality" disambiguation page more relevant than a redirection to the 'Bargain Booze' wikipedia page... (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Bargain_Booze)

Thank you in advance, Oelmonnomleo

Oelmonnomleo, the article was essentially a dictionary definition. Please see WP:NOTDICTIONARY AngusWOOF (barksniff)

Thanks!

As weird as it may sound, I just wanted to say thank you for the comments on the two articles you declined for publishing. The page you linked on Wiki notability for academics was very insightful - it'll be great help for me to decide which academics meet notability in future page creation.

Soulsinsync (talk) 17:22, 27 January 2019 (UTC)

Soulsinsync, no worries. If you can put those in the comments of the submission on why the people should meet that notability standard, that will help the reviewer check those items first. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:47, 27 January 2019 (UTC)

Copyrighted contend

Hey AngusWOOF,

thank your for reviewing my draft about Personal Initiative. I got the response that there was copyrighted content in it. I think the relevant content is a table. The author and owner of the original article and therefore the table asked me to put it in the wiki entry. Do you know if there is a way how he could give hier permission to publish it on Wikipedia?

And was there something else than the table which is copyrighted?

Thank you! Best, Gianna — Preceding unsigned comment added by GiannaHenkel (talkcontribs) 07:31, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

The general article was a summary of the paper, so the question is more whether it's going to be about the paper or the concept. If it's going to be the concept, then it needs to be introduced in a neutral manner and explain how the term came about. It should not contain any statements that are copied from that paper unless it is a quote. If it is a trademarked term then it needs to be put in that context, like "Personal Initiative is a term coined by (author) to describe (explanation)" Compare to Proactivity article, which has a background/history of the term. Draft: Jon Cornish award

Hi AngusWOOF,

Thanks for your guidance on the submission. I have reformatted the table for winners only as suggested, following the format of the Heisman Trophy. One question. Is it appropriate to list the finalists in the body of the text to provide background on the award with qualifier information now omitted? There may be a point where I can obtain the vote total from other media sources. It's a fairly new award, but it is kind of a "Heisman of Canada" from what I understand. More information on the other vote getters might be a plus.

ThanksJim Wutzke (talk) 18:26, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

Jim Wutzke, I'd work on the other media sources to ensure the article is notable. Then you can decide whether retaining nominees per year is worth having. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:06, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

Itsmesuhailcs, it still reads like a personal statement for a high school student trying to get into college, and not much notability for the individual. The awards and scholarships don't make him automatically notable. Can you identify which news articles would enable him to meet WP:GNG? They'd have to go into his life and career and not be written by his family or the organizations that sponsor him. Also, it appears your username is the same as the subject; if you are related to Suhail, you need to indicate so as that would be a conflict of interest. Hi Angus, I was wondering whether many mentions of the company on Wikipedia, but not having the actual article does a disservice to the users. if you search for Verastem on wikipedia, here's what comes up. All these articles mention the company so I thought it warranted creating a short article that describes them. I used Bloomberg, FDA, Nasdaq and other sources. Let me know if you recommend adding more references or any other suggestions.

Got it. Thanks! By the way, is there a way that I can change the punctuation in the title of the article from a question mark to an exclamation point? It's technically supposed to be "Why Don't You Just Die!" but I can't figure out how to make a change. Also, the official release in Russia is currently scheduled for April, but the distributors are working on the American release date, so we have limited information on the reception at this point, though it's all been positive. It's also expected to premier in the U.S. at the New York "What the Fest" film festival in March, though that information has yet to be published. Although this probably doesn't appear to be a very unique film, for Russia, it is since the dark comedy genre is not common there. Is it likely that we will have to wait to until the Russian or U.S. release before we try to submit the article again, or do you think there might be grounds for publishing the article early (or after the U.S. premier) due to the unique nature of the film in Russian cinema?

Hi! I apologize, but I'm obviously new to creating articles on Wikipedia. You left the comment "Remove the tagline, replace with a summary." on my artcle draft article, but I'm nots sure exactly what you're referring to. Why Don't You Just Die!is the titleof the film. Wednesday1331 (talk) 17:52, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

Wednesday1331, there's a tagline copied from the movie trailer or writeup "As the body count rises, the characters' motivation for revenge becomes clear." That should be deleted or put in quotes as it is a copyright violation. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:02, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

About the declined article :Theoretical calculation of the power of a wind turbine or tidal turbines

Hello AngusWOOF

my article is written from references which I quote at the end of the page. My first publication is consulted more than 200 times a month since 2016 and this throughout the world. The total number of consultations is almost 8000. I did not have a single negative comment on my articles.

I wanted to add a comment. In many books and on wikepedia, it is announced that the Betz limit is a law. This calculation is accurate and based on the calculation of kinetic energy. Betz never wrote that his calculation is a law. My article on wikepedia determines the power of a wind turbine or a tidal turbine from the calculation of the kinetic energy and the calculation of the potential energy. Check out my last article on this topic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Normandajc (talkcontribs)

Normandajc, the concern is more about whether this topic is notable and can be covered by papers or news sources besides your research papers. Please see WP:GNG AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:31, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

Hello, here are the academic articles of which I give the references in the article wikipedia. The last two articles are cited in other academic articles as in Japan, USA, Canada.

Normandajc, those are still papers written by you and the other authors, so they are not independent. Please find other news articles. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:57, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

Hello, I did not write an article about my turbine project 'Active Lift Turbine'. I wrote an article on the calculation of a wind turbine or tidal turbine. It's only culture. Wikipedia claims that the Betz limit is a law. Which is false and has no basis. My paper is based on well known fundamentals such as kinetic or potential power derived from kinetic energy or potential energy. There is nothing to complicate in the article — Preceding unsigned comment added by Normandajc (talkcontribs) 18:55, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

Normandajc, you are missing the point. The subject should be covered by secondary sources independent of the subject. Your papers are directly connected to the subject as it is your research. Please read WP:GNG and WP:NOR AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:40, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

Help in making the article acceptable

Dear Editor,

The article link is https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Jaan_Nissar_Lone . Can you help me format and make this article acceptable as this subject qualifies as per point 12 of https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music) shown how this person meets Music bio Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles as there is an interview on DD Kashmir which is a national/ State run News Channel, the link to this is provided in citation no.3 . The other citations also do qualify the article, please let me know on the required changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TavadiaP (talkcontribs) 11:26, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

There are too many references to primary sourced music vendors. They should be trimmed down and combined to just music video and one vendor listing. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:53, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
TavadiaP, per WP:MUSICBIO, "To meet Wikipedia's standards for verifiability and notability, the article in question must actually document that the criterion is true." so the article should include the details about the films and songs he participated in and that can be backed up by the provided sources. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:14, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

The article is provided with sufficient references and all unnecessary have been trimmed down. References have been provided for all statements. Requesting you to provide your valuable feedback. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TavadiaP (talkcontribs) 14:32, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

You will see from the draft article that he died in April 2016

Oldtaxman (talk) 17:40, 29 January 2019 (UTC)

Oldtaxman, I would change the headers to something more suitable like Early life and education, Career, Personal life, Awards and nominations, Stage work, Filmography (for his work in film and television). The current headers make it look like a resume. In his infobox, simplify his occupation to Director, playwright, actor. Remove the linguist part. For spouse list the spouse name followed by years married (19xx-2016) and move the 37 years part to the Personal life section. I would also link to Wikipedia articles any notable awards, schools, locations, organizations. If you have any news articles and references that offer significant coverage of the person, please point those out. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:42, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
The domestic and international contributions section should be moved into his Career section as major activities he did while at work. If he had other organizations unrelated to work, then you can add a Philanthropy or Other ventures section. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:45, 29 January 2019 (UTC)

He was teaching the actors from the street it was a big big job he was working day and night."

If it would move us along the road towards publication we are content to leave it as "Directed" Oldtaxman (talk) 09:35, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

Oldtaxman, please note if you are getting information directly from his family members then that is original research and can't be used. However, if it has been published in the newspapers, magazines, or programs how long they were married or when they were married, then you should use that instead. Also if you know of or have interacted with the family members personally you may have to declare connected contributor per WP:COI AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:38, 30 January 2019 (UTC)
Oldtaxman, regarding his role, what does it list for those program credits, Supervising director? Advisor? Or does he get co-director credit? Some of the writing of details on the play can go into his career section, and the stagework can be a simple bullet listing or table. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:40, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

It is فارس ترجل من على خشبة مسرح الحياة Thanks! Oldtaxman (talk) 09:04, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

I never knew or met or had any dealings of any kind with the subject of the article Mohammed Al Shanfari, and until recently I had never even heard of him.

I know nobody in the Al Shanfari family and have no business or professional or any other relationship with any of them. His widow is a recent acquaintance whose first language is not English.

I am not being and will not be paid for my work. I am working on the article as an “outsider”.

I have heard what his widow has said to me about Al Shanfari but have tried very hard and hopefully successfully to rely not on her recollections but on the published sources that I have been able to find. There aren’t a lot of them, but what there are are very helpful in that they have a lot of “content” and substantiate virtually all of what I have said and everything that is important.

I think I am too remote to be conflicted. Oldtaxman (talk) 09:14, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

Is the article now OK for publication in your view please? IF it is OK, is it possible for you to publish it? I ask that because I am happy with what I have been able to achieve with your guidance and am worried that I might fall victim to another Editor/Reviewer who might take a different approach Oldtaxman (talk) 07:58, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

Forgive me but something I have done seems to have deleted the Arabic that you kindly inserted for me in Note 3 فارس ترجل من على خشبة مسرح الحياة Oldtaxman (talk) 08:50, 3 February 2019 (UTC) I just took my life in my hands and changed it .... apparently succesfully ..... Oldtaxman (talk) 08:55, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

So can I ask you please – is this article now in an acceptable state for publication on Wikipedia?

If it is OK perhaps you’d be kind enough to tell me how to proceed now. Can you yourself accept and publish it? Or do I need to resubmit it? Thanks again! Oldtaxman (talk) 08:58, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

Oldtaxman, I would resubmit it and see how AFC reviewers respond to it. I don't know that much about Omani magazines and newspapers, but if any of those have Wikipedia pages, that would help show whether those papers are reliable sources. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:15, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

About the declined article: LogicInMind

Dear AngusWOOF,

Thank you for your review of this draft page [1].

The article is supported by a reliable and independant source which provides significant coverage of the subject. The author of the mentioned source is Jerry Seregni, a journalist and technolgy specialist. His review of LogicInMind's product was broadcasted on the television channel WVUE Fox 8 during the morning news. The transcript and video were also published on the WVUE Fox 8 website. A significant coverage of the product was made during the live demonstration of the product and a relatively large audience was reached by this subject.

I would be glad if you could provide some indications on how I could improve my submission. Thanks!

Best regards,

Hi AngusWOOF, you recently turned down my article for creation Draft:List_of_Kenyan_businesspeople citing that the article lacked sufficient content to require an article of its own and suggested I merge it with the existing article at List of Kenyans by net worth. You also mentioned that there aren't really any List of (country) businesspeople lists, only categories. Since this article sorts by net worth, you might want to redirect your efforts towards that article instead. I have taken time to check other articles on Wikipedia and found that there are indeed articles that are list of (country) businesspeople lists, especially in Africa. Examples include:

While the articles use the term entrepreneur, they each open by stating that "this is a list of (country) entrepreneurs and businesspeople". Secondly, I also checked and found that the lists have names of businesspeople without much else, compared to my list which have even brief descriptions as well as references. The two main concerns therefore would remain the use of the term businesspeople in my title and the not so many names on the list. About the first, would changing the word influence the article's veracity? If so I will change it. About the second, naturally, I understand the concept of Wikipedia to be one of crowdsourcing information. Thus, rather than pin me down to include more names, it would be easier to accept the article and allow other editors informed on the subject to expand it further. Per these comments, I ask that you kindly consider accepting the article request for submission and give others a chance to expand the list as has been the case with the other lists I mention. Thanks.

ObongiFrank (talk) 13:46, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

ObongiFrank, those are better options. Thanks for reformatting the list. In this case, the List of Kenyan entrepreneurs list redirects to the net worth list that's already in mainspace though. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:46, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
ObongiFrank, I renamed the list to entrepreneurs, there's a current redirect to the net worth one, but I think it might be worth splitting off from the net worth one anyway. Can you clean up the entries where the person is only noted for having a high net worth? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:50, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF, I have done this. I believe it's now commendable. Thanks for guiding me through this. It was my first attempt at making a list and future ones will be thorough from the onset. You're doing a good job.
ObongiFrank, I pushed it through. Thanks again. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:11, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

About the Declining of Draft:Atari Flashback Classics

Hello, AngusWOOF. I have noticed that there are many citations for release dates and reception, while there isn't many for other information. I have added some extras, but would getting citations on certain information (mainly the Notes section) from AtariAge be an okay source to use? Thanks!

CreeperDudeBro (talk) 10:39, 1 February 2019 (PT)

CreeperDudeBro, it would be preferable to use citations from reliable sources in the WP:VG/RS. According to that list, AtariAge is inconclusive. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:42, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF, Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I shall re-do the information by adding more references in the article. In any case, you specifically said in the comment: "Need more WP:VG/RS reviews on the package." Is this partaining to review based on the game (Ex. Giant Bomb, IGN, etc.) or other information in general? Thanks! CreeperDudeBro (talk) 15:55, 1 February 2019 (PT)

Wondering how to progress. Reason for creating this page: someone recently created a page about her on german Wiki, but much of it is incorrect, and she's not german. Trying to right that wrong.

Not sure how best to proceed. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Billkaboo (talk) 16:48, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

Billkaboo, see the comments I posted on the draft page. You need to list out some sources that would enable her to meet WP:MUSICBIO. I couldn't tell which ones were notable based on what you listed so far. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:08, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

Global Health Care Equivalency (GHCE)

Dear Angus:

Thank you very much for getting back. I will correct and get up to speed on the items that you mention. Since this a new topic, there are no formal secondary sources as yet, although I am sure there will be once the book is published. Might the mention of GHCE in online articles count?

Many Thanks and All my Best, Frank — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cellrep7 (talkcontribs) 19:20, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

Online articles are okay as long as they are not sourced from the researchers or organizations who are proposing the topic. See WP:ORIGINAL and WP:GNG. Also if you are connected to the subject, you need to declare this per WP:COI AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:14, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

Miraculous Ladybug: Is it distributed by Toei Company?

Hi. Is Miraculous Ladybug distributed by Toei Company? I know that Toei Animation was of course involved in early 2D promo, and is still one of production companies by having their executive producers credited in its current form. And since the animation company was owned by Toei Company, is it distributed by Toei Company in Japan/internationally? I'm just curious. PascalMuganyizi (talk) 20:16, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

You'd have to check how the show is being distributed in Japan. Toei is still attached to the project. [2] AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:19, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
Check how the show is being distributed in Japan? Why? I know Toei Animation is still attached to the project, But Is Toei Company a distributor for Miraculous? One: Both are owned by Toei Company. Two: Both are made in Japan. PascalMuganyizi (talk) 21:56, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for reviewing the draft and getting it to the mainspace. It seems now that the client I did it for is taking matters into their own hands in making some edits they wanted live on the article, so seeing as I have a COI I'll let you and other editors worry about its quality from now on, besides making minor edits if necessary (spelling mistakes, adding/removing cats, etc). Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 06:31, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

The client can't edit directly as they have COI as well, but you and they can make suggestions on the talk page. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:24, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
Davykamanzi, I've tagged the two editors you mentioned as COI / connected contributor. They should make recommendations on the talk page rather than edit directly unless it's for obvious typos and corrections like the removal of the website. It appears they wanted the verbiage to be one of the older versions of the text. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:00, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

AngusWOOF, you cited List of compositions by John Williams as an example to follow. I was looking at the List of compositions by Jake Heggie as Williams only composes film scores while Talbot, in addition to film scores, composes opera, choral works, orchestral works, etc., more like Heggie. Is there something specific in Williams format you think more appropriate for Talbot 148.75.165.78 (talk) 18:59, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

148.75.165.78, the main thing is to discuss it at Talbot's talk page on whether to split off the list of works. It doesn't need to be drafted or go through AFC if the consensus is to split. How to organize it is how I listed Williams's page, but if there are better arrangements and tables, feel free to use those, preferably formats that have gone through GA or better. Draft sumbal khan

Hi you've asked few questions, yes she is alived, she is an actress & did not you have seen that I've mentioned reference of indian news website? https://dailypost.in/news/entertainment/sumbal-khan/ it's clearly saying that she is film actress & singer her picture is there. But anyways I've removed the actress field. So now as she is singer & musician & she is been featured in newspapers & websites which I've mentioned already. MemonBhai (talk) 06:41, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

MemonBhai, the denial is from Sumbul Iqbal Khan who is an actress. [3] So two different people. The Pashto singer died. The actress is still alive. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:07, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Dear sir you are mixing it up kindly check articles & pictures of sumbal khan pashto singer & move to her verified page she is doing live sessions on her page the same sumbal khan who is alive & mentioned in articles along with her photos. Sumbal iqbal is some other lady & she is also alive. There are 5 sumbal khan in Pakistan.

Sumbal khan the one whose wiki I'm writing Sumbal khan dead who was also pashto singer Sumbal khan dancer Sumbal khan dancer again & sumbal iqbal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MemonBhai (talkcontribs) 16:22, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

You need to clarify which Khan you want to write about. One of them is confirmed killed with multiple reliable sources. Please check that her career stuff isn't mixed with the Khan actress or the Khan other singer. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:31, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Alive sumbal khan & the one whose news of dead was circulation are same, but the dead sumbal khan is someone else, kindly see the pictures in articles website, I've not shared the article of dead sumbal khan.

Kindly guide me sir actually I'm writing for alive Sumbal khan but the fake news of her circulating on social media so I've added reference here with pictures, either i can remove the reference of sumbal khan fake death news. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MemonBhai (talkcontribs) 16:42, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

MemonBhai, the "new face" articles from Daily Post is confusing as it mixes information in from Sumbal Iqbal about having a sister and acting in "Sumbul Iqbal has acted in some comedy serials too such as ‘Kis Din Mera Viyah Howay Ga’ of Geo TV and ‘Raju Rocket’ of Hum TV". AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:58, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Sorry sir accept my apology, I've removed that reference lemme know if i should fix any other because on her name there is more articles reference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MemonBhai (talkcontribs) 17:45, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

MemonBhai, once you have the Khan singer, try to find news sources and articles that aren't confusing them with the other Khans, and see if that will meet WP:MUSICBIO. It may be that the current Khan singer may still not be notable yet. The one in Mardan who was killed doesn't seem to be that famous otherwise, other than for the event that she was killed which made international news and got confused with the Iqbal actress. Tim Curnow draft RESPONSE to comments

Hello Angus First of all, thank you to all the editors who do such a lot of work to ensure that Wikipedia's articles are of a good standard. In response to your comments: This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Comment: It is not clear which of the offline sources (which is all of them) meet WP:GNG. There's evidence that Tim is Allen Curnow's son, but it appears a lot of them are passing mentions, as they are out of books by some other author. So that can only confirm that he perhaps edited some of those author's books. Please indicate which of these sources give detailed coverage on the subject. Note Allen Curnow may be in the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography but Tim does not have a similar entry. Answer: These sources are reliable –as a journalist of some 50 years standing and an editor for many of those years, I always ensure sources are reliable. None of these works were edited or written by Tim Curnow – he is a literary agent not an author or editor. The important “sources” for the article are in the “References” section where direct quotes or information is taken from the works cited. These sources are reliable, especially the definitive biography of Tim's father, Allen Curnow, one of the best British Commonwealth poets. Tim did not write this book and does not have an autobiography written about him.. There are 27 indexed references to Tim in this book., “Simply By Sailing in New Direction,” many of them multiple pages. The works consulted and cited under Sources reference Tim Curnow’s professional role and provide extra reading for those wanting to check other sources about his career and working relationships with writers and others working in the arts and the literary environment in Australia and New Zealand. Some of the sources provided quite detailed reference to Curnow’s work while some reference Curnow’s role as part of a much larger work – many are of a biographical or autobiographical nature but all those cited do add to the entry on Curnow which I have submitted. Only one book cited relates to his father the poet Allen Curnow and is included as Tim Curnow acted as literary agent for his father as well for the biographer Terry Sturm.

Comment: Also the detailed list of authors represented are more for Curtis Brown (literary agents) than Curnow's page. Answer: It is true that the authors were clients of Curtis Brown but the reality is that they were first and foremost clients of Curnow. The writers regarded Curnow as their literary agent and not the company – being an agent is a personal and professional relationship and this applies worldwide in the business, just like agents for actors or performers. Wikipedia's own existing articles recognise this, and the approach for Tim Curnow simply uses this convention. Under the personal Wikipedia articles of literary agents Pat Kavanagh and Ed Victor, the reference is to the agent's clients and not to the clients being part of an agency.

https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Pat_Kavanagh_(agent) Clients Her clients included:[4] … https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Ed_Victor Selected clients From official website[18]

In the US publishing weekly journal Publishers Weekly, in any reference to a retirement or death of a publisher or agent, the text always lists some of the writers represented or they have published. Very much accepted practice in the publishing industry despite being employed by an agency or a publisher I have now deleted some of the clients represented to make the list less unwieldy. Hope this is a satisfactory response to your comments. Regards Terry Snow SnowbirdTS (talk) 16:26, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Terry please post this response on the talk page for the draft and perhaps that can sway some of the AFC reviewers. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:35, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
Terry, at this point the references really need to be cleaned up as they are posted redundantly. I'll see if I can format that. My concern again with GNG is that they are all offline magazine and news references, and can't be determined by a glance whether they discuss Tim Curnow's life or are passing mentions of Tim Curnow and mainly focusing on his client's writing career. If you can pick out which news articles you cited that are focused on Tim Curnow's specific career, then note those first on the talk page. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:23, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
Terry, another concern is that the writing still paints a rosy view of Curnow's career, so it would have to be adjusted for tone. This might be harder to neutralize since you are connected to the subject. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:39, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

"Safety Signs" - Split Proposal

So, I've had a merge proposal posted on the Warning sign article since last week of November, and nobody's made any sort of comment on it. Is there a next step if a split proposal gets zero feedback of any kind?
(I'm not quite ready to resubmit for approval, but I want ready by the end of February and I want to get the ball rolling in case this is a process that just requires waiting, or time to set in motion.
(If you need to refresh your memory as to who I am, and our conversation & my draft Draft:Safety sign, this is your archive our original conversation in late November 2018: User Talk:AngusWOOF - Archive 8) Hope all is well.--The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 10:31, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

about the declined article: Apeiron - Research and Publishing Institute for Security and Defence Studies

hi AngusWOOF, thank you very much for your review. I've corrected the article, added new sources and rewrited it in a neutral point of view. Hope it works well now. But in case of any further reservations, I would really appreciate a detailed tip (eg. which part of the piece needs further improvement). cheers Jakub :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jakub Dusza (talkcontribs) 12:39, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

Jakub Dusza, I would simplify the list of journals to a bullet list with single paragraph for each journal. I would also find more sources that show the journals are notable per WP:NJOURNAL and highlight that in the comments. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:43, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the tips. I've rewrited the article as requested. When it comes to sources that shows the the journals are notable, they are ranked in the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education journal list, they are also presented in Index Copernicus and are indexed in ERIH+. I've put relevant citations (2,3,4,5,6) in the text. Jakub Dusza (talk) 16:06, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

Jakub Dusza, the official website implies this is some kind of university organization [4] [5]. Should it be restructured to focus on that? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:58, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

"University" and "publishing house" are two separate things, although they share a part of the name ("apeiron"). I'm planning to write about the University in a second article and then make appropriate links Jakub Dusza (talk) 10:00, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi AngusWOOF, is there a chance to review the last version of the article any soon? cheers Jakub Dusza (talk) 16:03, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi, Angus. You had declined my draft-Sripur Hat High School on 23rd Januar, 2019. I have edited the page and added notable refrences, have a look at it again. Thank you Aasman98 (talk) 11:09, 11 February 2019 (UTC)

Aasman98, okay please resubmit it Draft:Sripur Hat High School, and AFC reviewer (doesn't have to be me) can take a look. If you can identify which sources meet WP:GNG and WP:ORGCRIT up front, that will help. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:12, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

KimLip

Hi, those singles, named after each of the members (see Loona (group)#Single albums) are officialy recorded by "Loona", not by each of the members. Snowflake91 (talk) 10:17, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Snowflake91 It's rather tricky how they market their girl group members as "solo artists", but yeah for now this can still be lumped as part of their group, and not a true solo career spinoff. That's not to say they couldn't implement that strategy later and then she could be notable for that single. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:09, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Ryoko Akama

Dear AngusWOOF,

I’m replying to your question regarding Ryoko Akama’s notability on behalf of the author of this article. I am professor for computer music composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. This article has been written by a student of mine as an assignment for a class. Please allow me to briefly explain the background of this particular course, which is titled “Repertoire of Computer Music”.

The field of experimental computer music is strongly dominated by male composers. Last summer there was an international initiative which ran under the name ComposingWikipedia where people joint efforts in order to write articles on relevant female composers and to put them on Wikipedia. The idea behind this is that an increased availability of information of these composers will also lead to a stronger awareness of their artistic work in the scene of contemporary electronic music. Within my course we often discussed the problem, that female artists are often overlooked in the history of particular genres, especially if these are characterized by the use of technology. Therefore we decided to carry on with the initiative of “ComposingWikipedia” and to develop articles according to academic standards and to submit them to Wikipedia. Together we studied Wikipedia’s criteria of Notability and discussed which composers are notable enough to get an article. We honor the criteria stated by Wikipedia, however, unfortunately even the criteria listed under the category “Others” is not fully applicable to the field of experimental music. Terms such as #tune#, #melody# and #standards# don’t play a role in this sort of music. On the other hand influences in style etc. can only be recognized with a temporal distance, which would usually exclude any composers under the age of 50 or older to get any mention.

This is the reason, why in the case of Ryoko Akama it is not easy to deliver ‘evidence’ that she is a relevant composer that deserves to have a Wikipedia article. I’m convinced, though, that she is relevant enough. In the experimental music scene relevance is often shown when composers are regularly presenting at festivals. With Ryoko Akama this is definitely the case. She can regularly be found in festival programs. Also, she has often been interviewed by magazines that are covering the experimental music scene, such as musicaelettronica.it or anothertimbre.org. Most importantly, though, I would like to point out that Ryoko Akama has taught at the “International Courses for Contemporary Music Darmstadt”. This is probably the festival with the longest tradition and strongest influence in contemporary music. To be invited to this course is a strong indicator that the person not only has relevance but that she is seen as a representative of a particular meaningful direction in contemporary composition.

I understand that all of this is no ‘hard evidence’ of Ryoko Akama’s relevance. I would be grateful, though, if you would give this article the benefit of the doubt because of what I stated above, and especially because of the urgent need to give female composers a stronger presence on Wikipedia.

Sincerely,

Prof. Dr. Marko Ciciliani — Preceding unsigned comment added by Korin Rizzo (talkcontribs) 11:36, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Korin Rizzo, thanks for your insights. We're looking for news articles and journal articles that describe Akama in detail that aren't just Q&A interviews, so if you have those to support her case for meeting WP:MUSICBIO or WP:GNG, that would be helpful. A lot of what is already presented are primary sources, coming from brochures/program writeups. Bandcamp is self-published so that isn't a reliable source. Also many of the references currently listed are press releases / announcements that are passing mentions about Akama, that she is in participating that festival or program followed by her profile writeup. We need the external newspaper writeup instead, perhaps a critics' review of her work. Hope that helps. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:07, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Request on 20:50:42, 28 January 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by CANdo-artreview

Hello The Jacob Lipkin draft page uses information from unpublished biography by Richard Rivera. [6], from the unpublished Jacob Lipkin biography Creative Obsession written by Richard Rivera. I have permission to do this and it has been text has been approved by Richard Rivera. How do I make reference to this material and show his approval? Also Richard will add to the page his photographs of the artist and his sculptures. How do I add the photos and show his approval? Does Richard need to add his approval and photos and how and when do I do this? Many thanks. CANdo-artreview (talk) 20:50, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

CANdo-artreview, as that source is unreleased, you can't copy-paste lines from his biography of Lipkin as that is original research. WP:NOR You need to rewrite the biography in your own words, perhaps with less detail and restricted to only the sources that have already been published. Also if you are connected to Lipkin or Rivera you might have a conflict of interest. See WP:COI AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:04, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

I did indeed re-submit the draft. Is there any way you could help approve it? Thank you in advance.

Draft For Spaceflight Simulator page

Dear Editor,

Link: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Spaceflight_Simulator

This article would be nice to see. Even though I’m not a user, it’s a bit disappointing when I see a game I’ve played for months with a red redirect. Seeing you did further work on it before, I wondered if you had spare time for it. There are no sources I can find on it (maybe Google Play Store, where it is hosted?) otherwise it would be done now. There’s a Fandom over it, but you can’t cite that. It would be nice to see it there with the rest. Sorry for inconvenience and your time. Thank you.

P.S. Since I have no account, I may bookmark your page on my browser. You wouldn’t be able to find me. :( I may remember in the far future. I can, however, provide info on the game, but no sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:6000:1A11:427C:3038:F86C:150C:7954 (talk) 06:24, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Until it gets some reliable sources, preferably from WP:VG/RS, it will probably stay in draft for now. Hopefully it can garner reviews. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:12, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Seth's Temptation

Hi AngusWOOF In 1910 professional journals are almost the only sources available. These are the only ones that give a little - probably not enough detail. This is the case of The Moving Picture World, The Film Index and The New York Dramatic Mirror in the USA and The Bioscope in Great Britain. I added an illustration of the film in this case an advertisement. The film is also part of the American Film Institute Catalog, which is a reference on films presented in the USA. Finally on the external link that I give on the site devoted to Sidney Olcott, there is the reproduction of three articles devoted to the film[1] If that's not enough, I think we'll have to erase everything that is devoted to silent film on Wikipedia. Sincerely Derrien56 Derrien56 (talk) 17:20, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Derrien56, are you able to connect those news references to the article? That might help notability. It's hard to tell if it is just a directory entry in a database. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:34, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

You mean G11. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:18, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

Yeah, the advertising one. I get A11 and G11 mixed up sometimes. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:27, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
I get G4 and G5 mixed up. That makes me think of getting second normal form violation and third normal form violation mixed up when I was doing databases. I could look at a database design and see that it hadn't been fully normalized, which means that the database design needed tweaking in order to ensure that everything was consistent after the data was updated, but I never did remember which of the two rule violations was which, and I was the database expert. If I saw that the design was wrong, I could look up which of the rules was being violated, but it didn't matter, because I did know how to fix it, just not what the number was of the rule I was using. G4 and G5 are both about trying to sneak something or someone in. One of them is about a banned article and the other is about a banned editor. Before we required autoconfirmed status to create new articles, A1 and A3 were common on New Page Patrol and were easy to confuse. They are two different kinds of nothing. How can there be two kinds of nothing? Robert McClenon (talk) 04:34, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

Draft:Engineering consultant

Bad decline; the bluelink is a redirect to a tangentially-related subject, not an article. VQuakr (talk) 20:16, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

VQuakr,Why? Engineering consultant was redirected there since 2010. It's only today that you redirected it to the new article. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:21, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
Right, it was a redirect to Engineering management, which is a clearly different topic. The AfC decline claiming "Submission is duplicated by another article already in mainspace" was inaccurate. VQuakr (talk) 01:40, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

I edited the page to make it less promotional, and have included reliable sources (CNN and Fortune) to back the claims up. Please let me know if this works, or if any other edits need to be made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JamesC33401 (talkcontribs) 02:35, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

JamesC33401, can you add more secondary sources like the CNN one? the Fortune one is authored by her so that's a primary, and some of the other ones are interviews. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:46, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF Thanks for your feedback. I edited the piece to remove the self-authored Fortune piece. I also included references from The New York Times, and have removed links to her firm's website as sources. About the declined article on CK Birla Hospital for Women

Hi Angus, I had removed all links corresponding to Hospital's own website. I had corrected year of establishment to 2017. Can you please tell me anything else that needs to be done to get this article up and running? The so so guy (talk) 07:30, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

The so so guy, please read WP:ORGCRIT and come up with more news articles about the organization. Also the individual doctors do not need to be mentioned and linked to their directory entries unless they are the top leaders or founders of the organization. It needs to describe better how it's connected to and sponsored by CK Birla, who funded them initially and built the facility. Is it a private hospital or public? Non-profit or for-profit? The main thing is satisfying WP:ORGCRIT and WP:GNG so make sure you can find those news articles that aren't press releases. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:23, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
The so so guy, I added more feedback on Draft:CK Birla Hospital for Women. Please adjust and also please address the concerns I have listed here on my talk page. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:39, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Want to discuss & clarify

Dear angus sir, you have asked in the draft that how produced it, directed it etc & whats the purpose. Dear i have added the reference of two newspapers & news websites , they have mentioned it that film is written, directed & produced by DJ Kamal Mustafa. The film is animated independent film which was released on web, the subject of film is war against terrorism, the film is dedicated to armed forces. It's been cleared in newspapers kindly use translate button in chrome & page will be translate automatically.

The film news & who produced is & directed is mentioned here https://www.naibaat.pk/04-Feb-2019/20792 (nai baat is a tv channel of Pakistan & newspaper)

The same has been in https://www.humsub.com.pk/208606/dj-kamal-mustafa/

The same news & stills updated on https://www.medianetworknews.com/archives/2966

Article in English https://hamariweb.com/articles/115223

FoziaNaveed (talk) 18:34, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
Please add those sources to the article and add a Production section and a Reception section. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:35, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
FoziaNaveed, Hamariweb.com is posted from the author himself though. Do you have coverage of this by someone who is not connected to the producer/film company? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:37, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

I should remove hamariweb? I added it because its in English so wikipedia mod will understand what's the actual movie is for. & as i mentioned its an independent film which was released online only, same as https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Evil_Marriage

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Son_of_Kashmir:_Burhan

Same as operation 786 I'm not paid to write this article if you are thinking like this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FoziaNaveed (talkcontribs) 18:43, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

FoziaNaveed, you can use Hamariweb to beef up the production section on how the film was made, but the main thing is to find more secondary sources outside of the subject and to answer the questions on whether it can be notable per WP:NFILM and WP:GNG. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:06, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

I'm sorry I'm just confused actually I'm making article by checking the Wikipedia pages of films which isn't yet released in Pakistan but the Wikipedia page is created. The film is animated its been made from softwares Ofcourse, but in website Like naibaat, humsub they have published that the film is a first pakistani animated film of Pakistan which is showing positive image of Pakistan, the film story is mentioned in that newspapers, according to newspapers the film is showing operations done by armed forces against terrorists & its been dedicated to martyred childrens of army public school. I'm writing same as its been mentioned in newspapers. Nai baat has a wikipedia page here its a leading newspaper in Pakistan. Alao humsub is a magazine along with other sources which i mentioned. Kindly suggest alternative way. There are many newspapers are going to cover it as well, do we have any mod from Pakistan? Because they will understand urdu & newspapers is a best source of notability. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FoziaNaveed (talkcontribs)

I'm confused, is it being released in theatres? Or is it only a web release? Has it already been released? Need dates on that and then the reception. Was it screened at film festivals? You need to expand on the article besides list it all in plot. Who stars in it? Who are the Various artists? Are they well known actors doing voices? The plot should just be the plot. The other details should be in other sections for the article. There should be a Promotion and release section to describe how it was premiered (YouTube? Website? Physical screening at a theatre?) Then the critics need to analyze the film, saying what they liked or didn't like about it. That would go in the Reception section. If there are plans to release it to a film festival (short films) or a main theatrical release or direct-to-video release, then you should discuss that as well. Also any awards the film and its producer/director has received. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:28, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
FoziaNaveed, please see how I fixed up the reference for the Nai Baat newspaper. The article was written in Urdu, not English. This would help show secondary coverage. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:30, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
FoziaNaveed, the plot should discuss what the format of the film is. A drama anthology of different stories from the forces? One story with different scenes? Is it a comedy, tragedy, drama, documentary? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:32, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

I got it sir i will definitely follow your guidance & will complete this article soon :) thanks I've wrote another article today as well. Thanks for the help sir. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FoziaNaveed (talkcontribs) 19:36, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello sir

As per your guidance I've added gener, & secondary source of film in reference kindly check. MemonBhai (talk) 14:09, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello dear sir do i need to add more sources? Recently i added source in English. I also see that few wikipedia pages are published from same references & the films are even not yet released & even they have sources from wordpress.com but few editors have published it the film is also from Pakistan.

Example of wikipedia pages who have less then references & few are those who's website is even wrong , wordpress sources are also visible.

MemonBhai, I wouldn't worry about other film articles unless they're really not notable at all. See WP:OSE. As for adding more sources, you can add non-English sources. Those are fine. They just have to demonstrate critic reviews of the film or significant coverage and not just be a news announcement or a calendar entry. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:39, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Already added https://beam.pk/animated-film-operation-786/ the other articles have same urls & they are approved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MemonBhai (talkcontribs) 17:59, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

MemonBhai, it looks like Operation 786 is a live article now. Thanks. Keep pushing on getting more sources on there and reception. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:40, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Heads up: One of your draft rejections made it into the Washington Post

Hey, just a little heads up, your AFC rejection of Draft:Alison Waley was (indirectly) mentioned in the Washington Post. Regards SoWhy 10:52, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Thanks, SoWhy. I can't see the article at the moment because of the paywall. Maybe that can be added to the talk page for press? But that draft still needed more details about Waley herself, not just "married another man". What year did that happen? When did she write her memoirs? There's a ton of missing biographical information. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 12:38, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
If you have problems with their paywall, try opening the link in a private (incognito) window. It should work. Regards SoWhy 13:21, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
SoWhy, thanks, I see it now. Yay! Let's get it in press. My point still stands. If the only thing she's notable for is that she is that guy's husband, then it should just be a section of it. WP:NOTINHERITED If it's more than that, then expand the article with refs. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:36, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
I hope they aren't concluding it's a gender discrimination issue though. I've been strict on men's biographies for the same reasons and recently promoted another women writer's article at Lesley Jane Seymour. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:01, 20 February 2019 (UTC)

Draft:Social inequalities in wildfire preparedness comments and request for advisement

Hello -

I wanted to follow up on the declined request for Draft:Social inequalities in wildfire preparedness. On the topic of this not meeting WP:OR, all ideas within this article are expressed and cited directly within the three source peer-reviewed journal articles listed in the references. Would it be more clear if I also cited the ideas that are re-presented within the lead? 47.147.221.147 (talk) 05:25, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Could you also clarify the specific instances of bias that you noticed? I can back up or contest any of those points with additional input from other peer-reviewed journal articles on the topic of social vulnerability in hazard mitigation. 47.147.221.147 (talk) 05:27, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
47.147.221.147, it reads like it belongs in a journal rather than Wikipedia. See WP:NOTJOURNAL. If you want it for Wikipedia, you would have to wrap some context around what this topic is. It needs more background and history. When was it conceived? Who raised this as a term? How was it promoted? How has the public received the term? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:47, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
Those are great points and I do appreciate the advice, and will incorporate that into the draft as I move forward before my resubmission.
I do want to ask a clarification, though - and I am not asking this to circumvent the discussions to be had behind the issues in the draft involving WP:NOTJOURNAL - but are there more stringent controls on the creation-worthiness of a submission at WP:AFC that I should consider in addition to merely WP:N? I had understood that for articles that meet WP:N should in themselves qualify for creation, assuming they aren't WP:POVFORKs, even if substantial future work is required to develop the article beyond a stub. 47.147.221.147 (talk) 19:44, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
I would recommend WP:GNG first. The journals, while being reliable sources, are strongly tied to the subject and might be interpreted as WP:PRIMARY sources and so are not really independent of the subject. the other thing it really needs is WP:PCR Provide context to the reader. Most readers won't know what a social inequity is and when it applies to wildfire preparedness. If this is a recently-formulated concept, it needs background as to when it was created, who created it, and how was it rolled out. Also, how is it received in the communities and the world. WP:NOTJOURNAL and WP:NOTMANUAL still apply. The goal isn't to explain how exactly it is implemented but to provide a general summary and its importance / impact. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:55, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
Notice that Social vulnerability article, the one you are basing this work on, and how that one is structured with a Background, History, Models, Criticism sections. Another thing to note is WP:XY. You're trying to describe Social vulnerability in the context of wildfire preparedness. AFC reviewers may think these are two separate topics that don't really need a combined article. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:01, 20 February 2019 (UTC)

Plot sections

Is there a tool that allows us to automatically count how many words there are in the section? I don't want to trim the article too much.Tintor2 (talk) 22:34, 20 February 2019 (UTC)

Tintor2, found it: User:Alex 21/script-plotlength AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:49, 20 February 2019 (UTC)

Draft:Alexander Navab

Hello I noticed you declined Draft:Alexander Navab when I came to review the draft the decline option wasn't available so I commented instead, I've noticed that this happens in about one in every 20 or so drafts I review, have you any thoughts on what causes this? Theroadislong (talk) 20:39, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

Theroadislong, that's strange. Did Clean Submission help out? If someone left a weird signature, that might mess things up? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:43, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

It has be rejected TWICE, and I want to know that. Also, can you add it to The anime and manga club thing please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by JojokeGodFunhand (talkcontribs) 22:48, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

JojokeGodFunhand, Joestar already redirects to the series. There is no need to elaborate on the surname in a separate article. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:50, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
AngusWOOF, I just wanted it better defined. I LOVE Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and I want more Jostar pages. Jojo's is HUGE in Japan and it would be a "Golden Wind" if there was more than just the main and DIO. Also,is it Jostar or Joe-star? Funhand is god lol 22:58, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[1]

Article Drafts

I was just wondering something. Are people allowed to ask if a reviewer can review their draft? NerdyKaiExpo (talk) 21:28, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

NerdyKaiExpo, sure, you can ask any of the AFC reviewers. It doesn't have to be the same one who reviewed it previously. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:36, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
Why did you remove the Official Synopsis? NerdyKaiExpo (talk) 22:09, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
It's not needed and would be a copy violation. WP:COPYVIO AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:10, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

I resubmitted the article. NerdyKaiExpo (talk) 23:47, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

NerdyKaiExpo, it looks like it's been approved. I've removed the summary that was copied from the Fandom Wikia page. You can replace it with your own writeup. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:01, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
Ok, and btw I actually wrote the setting part. NerdyKaiExpo (talk) 00:02, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
NerdyKaiExpo, that's fine. It can be integrated into the summary unless the environment is fairly elaborate that it needs a separate section like with Divergent (novel). AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:04, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

Question; would it be ok if I took a summary from a source and then reference it to that source and be fine, or do I actually to write it myself? NerdyKaiExpo (talk) 00:12, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

It's probably better to rewrite one in your own words. It can be a short one for now if you don't have time or the patience to write a longer one AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:14, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

Can you go onto Files for upload and look at the 3 photos i’m Trying to upload for the article? NerdyKaiExpo (talk) 00:24, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

Can you perhaps check out my new article that I submitted? NerdyKaiExpo (talk) 20:09, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

Draft talk:Martin Wise Goodman

You reviewed the draft for journalist Martin Wise Goodman https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Martin_Wise_Goodman on January 24 2019 and I then changed the language and sources on February 5 2019, but am not sure what comes next? I am trying to create this page at the request of the family, who I work for (this is my employer's account) JanisGoodman (talk) 17:30, 22 February 2019 (UTC)JanisGoodman 12:30 2019-02-22

JanisGoodman, can you connect the references to the article? Also, please list on that page which references you think will meet WP:GNG. They should be secondary sources that are independent of the subject. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:31, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
