New Years new page backlog drive
Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!
We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!
The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.
Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:
- The total number of reviews completed for the month.
- The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.
NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, go here. — TonyBallioni (talk) 20:24, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

Referenced/Improve references comments on new pages
Hi, You've recently added tags to two pages I created one was Pont du Diable (Villemagne-l'Argentière), where you added 'refimprove' though it already had two references, and Église Saint-Pierre-de-Gallègue where you added the tag 'unreferenced' though it has 8 references, all inline citations. Can you confirm what I am doing wrong so that I can avoid these tags for future new pages?
Thanks
JasonGibbja (talk) 09:00, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
@Gibbja: Oops I made a mistake by tagging refimprove to the article Villemagne-l'Argentière because when I saw it I was bit confused with the article was looking similar to the article existing in French language. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Your another article, Église Saint-Pierre-de-Gallègue actually needs more References and you can add references to this article from the French Wikipedia. Thanks Abishe (talk) 09:14, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi Abishe. I noticed that you recently used a number of questionable sources in a biography article, Öykü Karayel. I realize that it's frustrating trying to find reliable sources for articles, but we need to be especially careful to ensure sources meet reliable sourcing criteria when dealing with personal information in such articles. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks.--Ronz (talk) 19:43, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

Following your recent enquiry at the cricket project, I've tried and failed to find any conclusive evidence that the cricketer and the professor of this name are the same person. I think there's a good chance that they are — but for any any article, and particularly for a BLP, that's not good enough. We have to go with what the sources explicitly tell us, not what we think we can work out to be correct by combining different sources. So that's why I've reverted your most recent addition to the article. Hope that makes sense. Jellyman (talk) 16:48, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for reviewing the Carlo Carretto article which I created. For the most part, I just translated it from the Italian so any bias which was on the Italian Wikipedia article would have probably come through the same.

The article Liubov Vasilyeva has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable tennis player who fails WP:GNG and WP:NTENNIS.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Adamtt9 (talk) 02:43, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

I will work on specific task force next time! Other than that, please let me know below if you have any general feedback about our recommendations. Thank you! Hi, I've been working on the red links of the PSA World Tour articles. They were fulls of red links, and now there are just a handful of red links left. Have a look. What do you reckon we should be doing next? Dr. Vogel (talk) 19:45, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
@DrVogel:, I noticed your great work and sorry for the delays in responding to your reply over here. I wanted to ask you whether you had enough time to create all of these articles. Though most of these articles are stubs, they are not so easy to create within a short period of time. I congratulate you for your timeliness efforts. I hope you are not feeling tired but did you find difficulties in creating these articles within a short span? Be patient and don't pressurise yourself and take rest for a while. OK, I recommend you to create squash biographies who have competed at the Commonwealth Games as this sport isn't an Olympic sport, I too will try to create squash bios on the other hand. But, I should say that you are a really good find for WikiProject Squash. Thanks a lot. Abishe (talk) 10:57, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, no worries. Ok, I'll have a look at the Commonwealth Games. Dr. Vogel (talk) 00:28, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Ok, I've had a go:
@DrVogel:, Great to see your voluntary contributions once again through these stuff. You can also create articles about squash players who have played in 2013 Men's World Team Squash Championships which is a part of 2013 PSA World Tour. You can refer to Template:PSA World Tour and can create the older versions of the PSA World Tour which have been red linked just before 2009 (This is just a recommendation as you can also simply create more squash biographies instead of creating these PSA World Tour seasons) I should be fair to you as you have accomplished and has been accomplishing the commitments towards the WikiProject Squash. Once again thanks for your great enormous efforts in uplifting the WikiProject Squash. Abishe (talk) 14:20, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- I must admit I find all the red links for the older PSA seasons in the PSA template very annoying indeed! However I don't think I'm the best person for that job, I think User:Raymond_Cruise has a very efficient and successful way of doing it, I reckon we should ask him.
- Another priority of the wikiproject is the tournaments, so I've experimented creating a couple of tournament articles: Golden Open , North Shore Open. Before I create more of those, it'd be good to get some feedback. Dr. Vogel (talk) 00:56, 1 March 2018 (UTC)
- There are several biographies that I created in February still awaiting review, would you please be able to have a look? Thanks! Dr. Vogel (talk) 20:28, 1 March 2018 (UTC)
