Speedy deletion nomination of First Flute
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on First Flute, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. BiH (talk) 18:12, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Your edits
[edit]Hello, thanks for your edits. I have reverted your changes to James Galway because they are far too promotional – Wikipedia is not a place to list all the famous people a performer has performed in front of. Regarding your edits to Randy Brecker, I have spent several hours cleaning them up. In particular, Wikipedia does not use imbedded links the way you used them; see Help:Referencing for beginners to find out how to add references in Wikipedia's format. More importantly though, however, at the talk page for the First Flute article, you wrote "We are not trying to promote is ...". However, shared accounts are not allowed on Wikipedia. If you have a conflict of interest regarding the subjects you are editing about, you should not edit their articles directly; instead, make suggestions for modifications on their talk pages. PureLand
[edit]You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
The article PureLand has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:31, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

The image you uploaded and external links
[edit]Hello, thanks for uploading the photo of Randy Brecker. However, you used the incorrect link to upload it; this one would be better. The upload wizard you used only placed the image on the English Wikipedia, but the link above will place the image on Wikimedia Commons, a media repository for all language versions of Wikipedia and other related projects.
It would also be good if you could add more information about the image – the date it was taken, for instance. If you did not create the image, you will need to forward an email from its copyright holder to the permissions tracking system.
I've undone your addition of Twitter/Facebook external links to the James Galway and Randy Brecker articles because Wikipedia tries to minimize the use of those links (along with external links in general).
If you have any further questions about anything I've written above or anything else about Wikipedia, either contact me on my talk page or email me at grahamwpgmail.com. Graham87 05:46, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Randy Brecker Image.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Randy Brecker Image.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:43, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Cordis.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Cordis.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.
If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.
Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 00:49, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Randy Brecker photo with trumbet, taken by wife Ada, April 2014.jpeg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you object to the listing for any reason. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 00:52, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for May 13
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rise Again Songbook, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bluegrass. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Alika Hope, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.arts-are-essential.org/ray-of-hope.html.
It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 01:49, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Alika Hope
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Alika Hope requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.arts-are-essential.org/ray-of-hope.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". DAJF (talk) 02:14, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
The article Ellen Boscov has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 01:20, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of World Rhythms Ensemble
[edit]Hello 375mon,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged World Rhythms Ensemble for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Bram Bessoff
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Bram Bessoff, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Legacypac (talk) 14:53, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, thanks for message. You said Is there any way you can message me the wiki? I would have contested the deletion. I'm not sure what you mean there. it's assumed that you are watching pages you create and will see any tags there. In any case, although you can contest the deletion, the point of speedy deletion is that there is no requirement to wait for comments since the article is deemed to be too poor to keep. I don't know if you saw the reviewers' comments
- "advocate of music as economic growth" and a story about his mom going to a concert three days before he was born and him expressing interest in music? Even after all these rejections there is still promotional language too. This is total BS that insults our intelligence. Don't resubmit this junk. I'm going to tag for deletion as promotional Legacypac (talk) 14:50, 30 May 2018 (UTC)}}
- Not satisfying the applied notability standards. SwisterTwister talk 18:10, 28 July 2017 (UTC)}}
I deleted your article because
- it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to him or an associated company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what he claims or interviewing him or his management. Much of your text was unreferenced, and the references you did did not appear to be credible independent third-party sources as we require. I tried five refs at random. One gave an unsafe site warning, one was dead, one didn't mention him, one was an interview with him, the other appeared to be self-written or a press release, doesn't bode well
- there is nothing to show how he meets the notability criteria I've linked above, it's just a gossipy fan page with no indication that he is notable as defined above
- it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced or self-sourced claims presented as fact include: and advocate of music as economic growth... highly knowledgeable... Approximately 3 days before Bessoff's birthday on Sep. 25, 1971 while his parents Marion & Joel attended the off-broadway theatrical production of Jesus Christ Superstar, it became apparent that Bessoff would be born a drummer... Their courtship was truly meant to be... The two have shared countless soulmate moments like this and much more starry-eyed fan stuff all the way through to Today they provide cutting edge, cross platform technology solutions for software development across the Web, cloud and mobile devices. You also have an entire section of what you consider to be notable successes (strangely no room for notable flops?) which is entirely unsourced.
- If you have a conflict of interest when editing this article, you must declare it. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that he is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also guidance for editors with conflicts of interest.
- If you work directly or indirectly for him or his organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:375mon. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=375mon|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.
Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Wikipedia:Your first article Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:49, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
