Hi, I believe this edit was yours. For the sake of the pl-challenged among us, could you elaborate on the source? Does it meet WP:RS? Other published sources seem to use other explanations, so we need extraordinary evidence.216.239.88.90 (talk) 06:57, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:1Baon1PPLeg Radom-Kielce 1944.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:1Baon1PPLeg Radom-Kielce 1944.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Thanks for the improvements to Szmul Zygielbojm. I have a question about the Wikilink to Borowice that I hope you can answer.
Borowice is a disambiguation page. Do you know whether Zygielbojm was born in Borowice, Lower Silesian Voivodeship or in one of the "other places called Borowice"?

- Thanks, but it`s not as detailed as it should be if it goes for Polish-Muscovite war (1605–1618) or other events, simply i just want to have your permission to edit that maps and to use them in accurate, historical context. Map in that war-template isn`t showeing which area was aquired in war and which belonged to PLC already.
- Btw. Shouldn`t be Estonia also marked as "area lost etc."? After all Zygmunt III Vasa as a Swedish King promised it in Pacta Conventa, and after Karl of Sudermania rebel, it was officially annexed (for a brief period, but still). Mikołajski (talk) 11:14, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Personal attacks against Lokyz
Hali, edits like this or that against a long term productive editor are unacceptable, please stop it.
Regarding the references that Lokyz is removing, I understand they were challenged since November 2007. If you have some sort of access to the references is it that difficult to scan a few pages or to find a Google book link or a online copy of the publications? Or, alternatively, if all the references are suppose to demonstrate is just a "widespread English-language usage" of a particular name spelling then it should not be that difficult to provide other references that are easier to access? Maybe we can follow Piotrus's suggestion and drop the Polish spelling from the lead? Images of Warsaw
Hi, Piotrus referred me to you as the expert on historic Warsaw architecture. I've been doing a lot of image restorations these last several months, making an effort to keep things international, and realized I had worked on only one photo of Poland. So at Portal_talk:Poland/Poland-related_Wikipedia_notice_board#Seeking_a_better_file_of_an_imagee it looks like we've settled on a prewar image of St. Alexander's Church. Unless you have a better suggestion, I'll restore that for featured picture candidacy tomorrow.
Basically I'd like to do a few more Polish-interest restorations for featured picture consideration. I'd be willing to work with any material that's sufficiently high quality. Right now the best files I have access to are historic photochroms of Polish architecture from 1890-1900. The collection isn't comprehensive but it seems to be a pretty good collection of major sites from that era. In order to be considered for featured picture status a historic shot of this sort would have to be irreplaceable. That is, structures that were damaged and not (fully) rebuilt. Several of them cover Warsaw and it seems you're the man to talk to. Would you offer guidance? Best regards, DurovaCharge! 08:55, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

This arbitration case has been closed and the final decision is available at the link above. The remedies that have been adopted are as follows;
- Should Alden Jones (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) resume editing Wikipedia, he shall be assigned a volunteer mentor, who will be asked to assist him in understanding and following policy and community practice to a sufficient level that additional sanctions will not be necessary.
- Alden Jones (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is limited to one revert per page per week, with the exception of simple vandalism; and is required to discuss all content reverts on the relevant talk page. Should he violate this restriction, he may be blocked by any administrator as provided in the enforcement ruling below.
- Boodlesthecat (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is banned from Wikipedia for a period of one year.
- Deacon of Pndapetzim (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is admonished to avoid edit-warring.
- Greg park avenue (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is banned from Wikipedia for a period of one year.
- Irpen (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is urged to avoid interacting directly with or commenting about Piotrus (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) under any circumstances, except for any necessary commentary in the course of bona fide dispute resolution.
- Irpen (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is limited to one revert per page per week, with the exception of simple vandalism; and is required to discuss all content reverts on the relevant talk page. Should he violate this restriction, he may be blocked by any administrator as provided in the enforcement ruling below.
- Lokyz (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is admonished to avoid edit-warring.
- Should Lokyz (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) make any comment deemed by an administrator to have been incivil, a personal attack, or an assumption of bad faith, he may be blocked by any administrator as provided in the enforcement ruling below.
- Piotrus (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is urged to avoid interacting directly with or commenting about Irpen (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) under any circumstances, except for any necessary commentary in the course of bona fide dispute resolution.
- Piotrus (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is cautioned to avoid using his administrator powers or status in situations in which his involvement in an editing dispute is apparent.
- Piotrus (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is admonished to avoid edit-warring.
- Poeticbent (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) shall be assigned one or more volunteer mentors, who will be asked to assist him in understanding and following policy and community practice to a sufficient level that additional sanctions will not be necessary.
- Relata_refero (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is admonished to avoid edit-warring.
- Editors are reminded that when editing in subject areas of bitter and long-standing real-world conflict, it is all the more important to comply with Wikipedia policies such as assuming good faith of all editors including those on the other side of the real-world disputes, writing with a neutral point of view, remaining civil and avoiding personal attacks, utilizing reliable sources for contentious or disputed assertions, and resorting to dispute resolution where necessary. Wikipedia cannot solve any of the national, ethnic, historical, or cultural disputes that exists among the nations and peoples of Eastern Europe or any other real-world conflict. What Wikipedia can do is aspire to provide neutral, encyclopedic coverage about the areas of dispute and the peoples involved in it, which may lead to a broader understanding of the issues and the positions of all parties to the conflict. The contributions of all good-faith editors on these articles who contribute with this goal in mind are appreciated.
- Editors who find it difficult to edit a particular article or topic from a neutral point of view and adhere to other Wikipedia policies are counseled that they may sometimes need or wish to step away temporarily from that article or subject area. Sometimes, editors in this position may best devote some of their knowledge, interest, and effort to creating or editing other articles that may relate to the same broad subject-matter as the dispute, but are less immediately contentious. For example, an editor whose ethnicity, cultural heritage, or personal interests relate to Group X and who finds himself or herself caught up in edit-warring on an article about a recent war between Group X and Group Y, may wish to disengage from that article for a time and instead focus on a different aspect of the history, civilization, and cultural heritage of Group X.
- Administrators who utilize the #wikipedia-en-admins IRC channel (or other IRC channels in which Wikipedia-related matters are discussed) are reminded that while the #admins channel has legitimate purposes, they should bear in mind whenever using it:
- (A) That discussing an issue on IRC necessarily excludes those editors who do not use IRC from the discussion (and excludes almost all non-administrators from the discussion if it takes place in #wikipedia-en-admins), and therefore, such IRC discussion is never the equivalent of on-wiki discussion or dispute resolution;
- (B) That the practice of off-wiki "block-shopping" is strongly deprecated, and that except where there is an urgent situation and no reasonable administrator could disagree with an immediate block (e.g., ongoing blatant or pagemove vandalism or ongoing serious BLP violations), the appropriate response for an administrator asked on IRC to block an editor is to refer the requester to the appropriate on-wiki noticeboard; and
- (C) That even though the relationship between the "wikipedia" IRC channels and Wikipedia remains ambiguous, any incidents of personal attacks or crass behavior in #wikipedia-en-admins are unwelcome and reflect adversely on all users of the channel.
- Following the conclusion of this case, the Committee will open a general request for comments regarding the arbitration enforcement process, particularly where general sanctions are concerned. Having received such comments, the Committee will consider instituting suitable reforms to the enforcement process.
- Following the conclusion of this case, the Committee will convene a community discussion for the purpose of developing proposed reforms to the content dispute resolution process.
- Following the conclusion of this case, the Committee will publish guides to presenting evidence and using the workshop page.
Please see the above link to read the full case.

Image permission problem with Image:Stiffening Capacitor.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Stiffening Capacitor.jpg, which you've sourced to http://www.kprm.gov.pl/english/92_358.htm (link to Internet Arcive copy of original page). I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Image source problem with Image:Boryslaw 1920 post card.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Boryslaw 1920 post card.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Third Partition of Poland
I did a quick edit with reasonable results of Rzeczpospolita_Rozbiory_3.png to reduce it to only the Third Partition. I noticed you have a copyright on your maps, so I thought I'd ask if it's OK to load up as a derivative work with rights assigned to you (or if it's easy enough for you to make a map of the Third Partition alone. I can Email you the PNG if you like. Peters V TALK 05:11, 8 January 2009 (UTC) (My new signature is not growing on me!)

Proposed deletion of Baczewski
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Baczewski, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Lack of notability and reliable references, see here for discussion.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. File source problem with File:Losice_coa.png
Thanks for uploading File:Losice_coa.png.
Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for File:Siwucha.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Siwucha.jpg. Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Siwucha.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Siwucha.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 19:22, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
No content in Category:Hungarian tanks
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Hungarian tanks, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Hungarian tanks has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Hungarian tanks, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 19:03, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Czapski Rozproszone.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Czapski Rozproszone.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 00:25, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Gniezno seal.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Gniezno seal.jpg.
Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:18, 6 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 22:18, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
