How did you guys found out that the old Zhu Wen Picture is Not The Zhu Wen Mentioned and was Emperor Shun?

EMPEROR SHUN is a DAOISM GOD my family and many daosim followers worshiped over many thousand of years, he got temples and musiums worship him. IF you search 舜帝，you can see his picture looks exactly like the one that was misrecognized before. FURTHERMORE: because many other websites used wiki as reference, other websites also made mistake that must be corrected, that's why when you searched internet, you saw the same picture that must be recorrected.

ALSO, I suggest you delete that new picture you uploaded, because it is obvious someone illegally munipulated other innocent people's picture and with a bad intend which is not allowed.

If you trace back the providence of the image from the c:File:朱溫（殘唐五代史演義傳）.jpg, the image was extracted from c:File:CADAL06200302 古本小說集成：殘唐五代史演義傳.djvu, which was printed during the Ming dynasty. The image is printed on page 33.
Unless there is a deliberate mistake made during the scan, the image is an illustration of the said historical person, Zhu Wen.

Hi @Robertsky, I think the original issue is over an earlier image with an orange background that the complainant removed - it traces back to 2012 here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Emperor_Taizu_of_Later_Liang_Zhu_Wen.jpg. The one you've referenced is a second version that was added as a replacement, I'm not sure if they have an issue with the new one or not?

The original image is described on other websites as Emperor Taizu (including Chinese & Korean sites), however the link posted by the complainant seems to show a different image to the one they removed (I'm not sure if it's a different image of the same person painted at a different time?). @Blue-Sonnet well, if we look at the corresponding article for this subject on baike, https://baike.baidu.com/item/%E6%9C%B1%E6%B8%A9/535387, it uses the same image as the orange background here. I would say that the complainant should have a stronger justification to have the image removed that just throwing up baike baidu link (after all they are also user generated content). – robertsky (talk) 22:01, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ah good catch, I just realised they the image on baike baidu doesn't show properly if you're on a phone (it's pretty late here so I'm in bed) so I ended up trying to watch the video! It's still labelled as Zhu Wen underneath the image, so I'm not sure where Emperor Shun comes in if that's the evidence? Plus it looks like a wiki & user generated, like you've mentioned... I'm no expert on any of this, but I've spent almost an hour looking into this claim and can confirm that the disputed picture was uploaded by a user of zh.wikipedia (Jason22) almost 13 years ago and remains on a dozen different Wikipedia pages in different languages (you can see via my Commons link earlier). There's no indication of any recent dispute when I checked the recent history of a few of them, only on here.

The link provided by @CORRECTION100000 as proof this isn't Zhu Wen, explicitly labels the exact same picture as Zhu Wen (disclaimer that I used Google Translate).

Jason22 is still apparently active if anyone wanted to ask them, I don't speak Chinese so I've not done this myself, I could reach out with Google Translate but that might not be a good idea? Or look for a user who speaks Chinese to help?

I'm of the opinion that we should reinstate the original picture, then review any reliable source that @CORRECTION100000 wishes to submit.

Other than saying the above, I'll leave the decision to more experienced users if that's ok? But if there's anything else I can do, or if I've got anything wrong please let me know! Blue-Sonnet (talk) 23:17, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

compared the pictures ourselves. If current sources are saying one thing, we'd need a reliable source saying otherwise. You can provide a link to a reliable source saying that the picture is of Emperor Shun & we can review it, but we can't do that ourselves. Do you have any reliable source that says the picture is of Emperor Shun so we can take a look? The link you provided had the label Zhu Wen. Your other points need sources also.
