[edit]I've started this article with some basic information since it hadn't already been created. I guess some people out there remember this magazine so please feel free to contribute and correct what I've done!
I have copies of most of the issues (all of #1 to #50, and some beyond that) so I was thinking of making a list of editors and significant changes to the magazine, plus a more complete list of the highest ever reviews.
You should scan them in or send them to someone to scan. Mister. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.4.41.53 (talk) 18:39, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Can anyone shed any light on exactly when, or why the magazine stopped? The last issue I bought was #57 (which has Mario 64's 20 page, 100% review) and I know there was an issue #58. I'd missed a few in the period of issues #51-#56 through forgetting to buy them, but I purposely didn't buy #58 because the magazine was going downhill IMO, I think it had the Pilotwings 64 review in though. After that I never saw it on sale again, so was #58 the last one? I thought "about 60" issues was a reasonable estimate. Jimbow25 18:33, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
I was also wondering this. Doesa anyone have any information on whether it was mentioned in the magazine that it was stopping, or did it just dissapear? 16:23, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Yesterday (24th January, 2007), I updated this entry with some more information - and I hope to add more soon. I was a big fan of this mag when it was out and had most issues - probably the first years worth, a handful of issues and then a complete run from around #35 to the end. About a year ago I chucked a load of the issues out as I needed the space. I wish I hadn't, or I wish I'd at least scanned them first. I did keep some back though like the first and last issue, the retrospective one, the ones with virtual boy reviews and whichever issues had the final "Total! Recall" section for NES, Game Boy and SNES reviews - so I could at least have a complete list of review scores. Re: the mag ending. Issue 59 was advertised in the back of issue 58 - it was to feature an exclusive Super Bomberman 4 review. However shortly after the issue arrived subscribers were sent a letter informing them it was ending - I still have this letter somewhere so will dig it out to see exactly what it said. A lot of future titles were ending around this time -as mentioned in my update Superplay had ended the month before. Dave anime 10:35, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
It's safe to say this was not affialted with Nintendo. BuickCenturyDriver (Honk, contribs, odometer) 06:31, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Hey user "Dave". Any chance you could scan in that letter saying the magazine was ending?
Well over 18 months later I finally got around to uploading that letter. Sorry for the delay but I had all sorts of trouble with various things. Oh and I did forget at one point too :p Dave anime (talk) 09:46, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
