Incorrect project?
[edit]As far as I can tell, and it seems borne out by many of the discussion threads on the its forum, SpaceEngine is not a video game currently. I therefore propose that this article is in the wrong category. 72.229.28.105 (talk) 20:43, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
I think it is also wrong since it says that SpaceEngine is proprietary. At [1] it says it is a free space simulation program.--174.53.34.144 (talk) 21:33, 7 July 2016 (UTC) PS. Just kidding. I wasn't aware the FAQ said it was a proprietary closed-source software.--174.53.34.144 (talk) 21:38, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
Universe is not centered on the Solar System
[edit]I carried out an experiment where I would move away from the Solar System in the direction of the Galactic Center and Anticenter. Moving in the direction of the GC saw an abrupt termination of galaxy generation at 18.71 billion light years. Similarly, moving in the direction of the anticenter terminated at 18.65 billion light years. However, other experiments where I moved in random directions saw terminations as far out as 27 billion light years. This concludes that the universe is about 37 billion light years across and NOT centered on the solar system. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Redbombs23091 (talk • contribs) 08:22, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
- Then where is the actual center of the universe in SpaceEngine? And i still don't know why people belived for a long time the center was on the barycenter of our solar system when they were wrong the entire time! Luigi Cotocea (talk) 12:55, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure it is in fact the Solar System - it's just that the universe, if I remember correctly, is cubic rather than spherical hence why the distance to the edge can vary by as much as a factor of √3. Ionmars10 (talk) 05:23, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
