Rename article to “Soviet-Pakistani aerial engagements in the Soviet Afghan War”
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Not moved. No clear reason for the move. (non-admin closure) Natg 19 (talk) 22:56, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
Pakistan Soviet air confrontations during the Soviet Afghan war → Soviet-Pakistani aerial engagements in the Soviet Afghan War – Rename is a more intuitive term. AfghanParatrooper19891 (talk) 15:24, 29 March 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. SilverLocust 💬 23:20, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

- For context, this request was originally a proposal to make the move Pakistan Soviet air confrontations during the Soviet Afghan war → Template:Rename, which is nonsensical. I've now noticed that the heading has the actual title suggested — #Rename article to “Soviet-Pakistani aerial engagements in the Soviet Afghan War” — so I've fixed the request to have that title. (The rationale for the move is still a tad confusing.) SilverLocust 💬 22:31, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
No, it DEFINITELY needs an en dash. There's no question. Please see MOSDASH. Tony (talk) 04:29, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
38th Commando Brigade
[edit]How does 38th Commando Brigade surrenders in an air conflict? 49.181.27.232 (talk) 21:49, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- I don’t think it belongs here. The 38th Commando Brigade landed in Zhawar with helicopters and physically touched the ground, the landing zones were attacked by the mujahideen. The rest of the events were primarily ground combat, and they were captured by the Haqqani mujahideen. AfghanParatrooper19891 (talk) 06:03, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Pakistani civilian casualties
[edit]@AfghanParatrooper19891, content dispute should be discussed Here, and what's your source for Pakistani civilian casualties I've read the article Foreign involvement in Soviet Afghan war which discussed only Afghan civilian casualties and not Pakistani, please assume good faith on part of others and if you've source for Paki casualties please add that, it's a collaborative platform and you don't need to personally attack me on any topic. Btw due to allegations of being a "military agent", I'm refraining from editing articles concerning Pakistan. Anyways thanks a lot man for your contributions in other articles I truly appreciate it Waleed (talk) 17:12, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
- Don’t worry, I don’t think you’re a foreign agent. Regardless, I have read the source and yes, 300 civilians died but it is not explicitly mentioned that they were Afghan refugees.

- Foreign involvement in the Soviet–Afghan War states that the Soviets bombed Afghan refugee camps leading to 300 civilian deaths. Waleed (talk) 02:11, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- It still does not mention the nationalities of these civilians, and we have to consider that “War in Afghanistan” by Mark Urban mentions that these Afghan refugees in these camps were being armed. AfghanParatrooper19891 (talk) 10:42, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
