Wikified

[edit]

This stub article is NOT 'Wikified'. It has v basic problems of language and style apart from poor and few refs/citations 39.54.68.70 (talk) 08:45, 2 October 2012 (UTC)Col Mumtaz Khan[reply]

Inappropriate tone

[edit]

The tone is still not appropriate content like “He was the individual who had the esteemed privilege of being the first to receive the honor of pledging allegiance to Shah Fakhar-u-Din” and “To his followers he was venerated by the honorific title 'Qibla Alam', signifying an elevated spiritual status within the Islamic mystical tradition” and “Maulana Fakhruddin's remarkable benevolence deeply moved him” is not neutral tone. Requested move 24 June 2024

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Moved to Noor Muhammad Maharvi. There seems to be agreement below that this is an acceptable common name, omitting the honorific Khawaja at the front.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Amakuru (talkcontribs) 07:11, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Muhammad MaharviKhawaja Noor Muhammad Maharvi – i know it seems a bit long but i think i would be perfect fit because its the correct name the "Maharvi on the original page is not even a name is just shows the locality of that person as cited. Moreover the Noor Muhammad name is already taken so i think its the only correct choice to use that name Alragon1 (talk) 12:33, 24 June 2024 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). @Alragon1: moved your request to the article talk per Amakuru's instructions in Special:Diff/1230733890's edit summary. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 15:02, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Rotideypoc41352 Can you please explain how? Alragon1 (talk) 15:06, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Before I do that, let me add some context for other people looking at this discussion. This had been declined at WP:RMT before Amakuru. I've copied the discussion there into the collapsible box below for convenience:
RMT discussion from 19 June to 22 June
  • @Alragon1, I do not see any instances of titles prefixed "Khawaja", and not all titles have to be the accurate name of people. ToadetteEdit! 11:01, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I think its necessary for a person to have a correct name to stop it from being controversial, The prefix Khawaja is used in many instances even though Maharvi is not even a name its a suffix.
The Correct Name would be Khawaja (prefix) + Noor Muhmmad (name) + Maharvi (suffix) and moreover its a very common name in this region so there should be no problem for anyone to change it. Alragon1 (talk) 05:45, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We only need to disambiguate names if there are other notable people that have the name. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 18:37, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is just an honrific prefix and I'd just  decline it but I guess Noor Muhammad Maharvi is more close to their common name than just Muhammad Maharvi. ─ Aafī (talk) 05:44, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For reference, the permalink for the above is Special:Permalink/1230525174#Contested technical requests. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 15:44, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Moreover as the user: Aafī suggested, my position is the name should be Khawaja Noor Muhammad Maharvi Instead of Muhammad Maharvi [1] as was proposed in RMT discussion i have also a reference that word Khawaja had already been used e.g. Khawaja Suleman Taunsvi Alragon1 (talk) 15:48, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think so that it was declined , it was not even discussed properly. Alragon1 (talk) 15:45, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Aafi did decline it at RMT; the proper venue for discussion is here, not at RMT. The article can only be moved after someone closes this discussion per the closing instructions for requested moves; if no one closes this after seven days, you can be request it at Wikipedia:Closure requests. @Rotideypoc41352 Yeah you are right. What's your opinion on this matter? Alragon1 (talk) 16:03, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Personal opinions don't count. As said elsewhere, Wikipedia article titles are covered by the article title policy. The titles should be commonly recognisable keeping in mind that In general, honorific prefixes and suffixes should not be included, but may be discussed in the article (see majorly: MOS:ISLAMHON). Hazrat, Maulana, Khwaja, are all honorific prefixes and need to be omitted unless they regrettably form a common name of someone, such as, Maulana Azad.
I don't seem to find any such huge usage in English language resources that establish this "rareness" for this article title. We are left with only two options: either Muhammad Maharvi (as it is) or Noor Muhammad Maharvi. For Khawaja Suleman Taunsvi, the common name is "Suleman Taunsvi". An article existing with an honorific prefix should not be a reason to be another article to a name that doesn't follow the community guidelines. Regards, signed, Aafi (talk) 17:01, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Noor Muhammad Maharvi is better because Maharvi is a prefix showing locality of the person as he lived in village Mahar Sharif. Alragon1 (talk) 18:20, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Amakuru the decision has reached i think so Kindly move Muhammad Maharvi to Noor Muhammad Maharvi. It is not further being discussed. Alragon1 (talk) 06:30, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

● If people are satisfied on the Title Noor Muhammad Maharvi then i Support it. Alragon1 (talk) 11:57, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
