I have added in all of the albums from that link, minus the drama CDs which aren't really soundtracks anyway.--(十八|talk) 21:21, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Split + Reassess

[edit]

I have reassessed this article as start class in line with the recommendations at WP:ALBUM

  • A credits section for each album is needed.
  • There isn't enough descriptive text for B-class. There should be a good introductory paragraph and at least one other.

Also, this would work much better split into a separate article about each album, with this article becoming a description of the series as a whole. See Now That's What I Call Music! for a good example of this. - Alex valavanis 10:50, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the reassessment to Start, but I very much disagree about the split. There are many albums on this page, and the point of consolidation is that a person who wants to look up info on the soundtracks of Kanon can go to one article to find them all instead of having to search through an array of links and stuff like that. It makes it easier to navigate and lessens the number of individual articles related to a media type. IMO, comparing this article to the massive number of albums associated with Now That's What I Call Music! isn't viable.
Btw, for other article related to Japanese media, this has been instituted with no problems: List of Kashimashi albums, List of Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru albums, Air soundtracks, List of Shuffle! albums, List of Haruhi Suzumiya albums...--() 11:03, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Need opinion re: Kanon soundtracks

[edit]

I first noticed this a few weeks back, but three of the albums I had included in this list, numbered 3, 4, and 5, are not official ablums from Key Sounds Label or Fronteir Works and I'm pretty sure they're dojin music albums released over the course of Kanon's 8 year history. What I want your opinion on is if I should delete the three dojin albums or not. I believe I should since I don't think they're particularly notable and unofficial works typically shouldn't be included, right?-- 07:27, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, I would say maybe check into it a little bit more to be more sure if they are dojin or not. It really doesn't hurt anything to keep them around for now, though they should be removed (if dojin) before applying for Featured List status. A few other points though:
  • Be sure to mention somewhere that most of the English titles are unofficial translations. I think this is something we need to get more in the habit of mentioning.
  • Albums should be in italics.
  • Albums and songs should be capitalized like normal trademarks. e.g. Kanon Original Arrange Album "Anemoscope". The original typesets can be placed in the "Japanese title" sections for songs, which really needs to be done anyways, as atm it looks like you're just missing the information.
  • A lot of these albums look like they need colons, like Kanon: Last Regrets / Place of Wind Which Arrives. But that's a tricky business.
So there's my comments.--SeizureDog 01:32, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doujin soundtracks...

[edit]

If you plan on adding doujin soundtracks, be prepared for a lot of work... http://www3.tky.3web.ne.jp/~sug01/oekaki/dojinongaku.html

Yeah, this is exactly why I removed the unofficial albums; there's just too many of them, and most of them are non-notable, if not all. So only the official albums are included on this list.-- 22:24, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

tranlation of song titles

[edit]

I was thinking "Kaze no tadori tsuku basho" should literally be translated The place where the wind arrives, not place of which wind arrives. Or more poetically (and less accurately), the place where the wind blows. But I wanted to get to a consensus before making any change...--Charizardpal (talk) 05:36, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The title is currently translated as "Where the Wind Reaches", except on the "Last regrets / Place of wind which arrives" single because that is the title printed on the album cover.-- 05:48, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
